I have to express my breast milk every 3 hours for a premature baby, so now I have to get another device.

I am not happy with your device neither your customer service.

The pump is amazing BUT tell me to order new parts every 8-12 weeks – The first 8 weeks of using this pump twice daily I couldn't have been happier, in fact I told everyone how I couldn't live without it. called, left a message - no response. By the third day it wasn't working so I had to purchase a new pump from BB as I couldn't be without one.

My husband ended up calling spectra, then I received an email explaining that you need to replace the rubber parts ( back flow and valve ) every 8 - 12 weeks to ensure the pump doesn't lose suction..... it is a complete hassle surely there is a better option spectra?? Or at the very least make it clear that the parts need to be replaced ever 8-12 weeks.

I realise all breast pumps require replacement parts during their life but I only use this pump twice daily for 10-15 mins and I can't get more than 8 weeks out of my rubber parts.. (I do wash up the parts per their recommendations - not practical for me to refridgerate the parts between pumps to increase their lifespan)

I tried to post a review on their site to make others aware and if nothing else ensure to always have a spare duck valve and back flow protector at home. Otherwise you may find yourself in my position waiting 3 days for new parts to arrive via mail. Surprisingly the review was deleted by spectra... perhaps they only allow 5* reviews of their pumps.

Spectra tell your customers at the time of order to make sure they have replacement parts ! Or better yet, perhaps charge the extra $ 15 and include spares.

The pump is brilliant but be warned it's no as perfect as their website might indicate - be sure to keep a spare valve and backflow proctector just in case.

Used it everyday for 6 months and it did not fail me – Very happy with the purchase of the spectra 9. The portability and double pump makes pumping more flexible and fast. days. Price wise, it is much more affordable than the medela and I did use the medela while in hospital and I find the spectra 9 is equally as good and much more value for money. Highly recommend it.

Great portable pump – I have a Spectra S2 at home but needed something to pump on the flight (11 hours long). I'm amazed by the size and the weight. It did a good job but I felt it wasn't as powerful as the S2 but for the size and portability, it did what it was designed to do and I was still able to get a decent amount of breast milk.

is impressive too-I used it in the car on a long interstate trip to cut down stopping time with no problems.

Having a double pump means I can catch more of my milk. And the let-down mood really helps. It would be good if the pump turned on in massage mode not pumping but it's a minor thing. When comparing with other (double) pumps on the market this is fantastic value and I highly recommend it.

such a time saver – I'm using spectra 9+ and love it. So quick. I only need 10mins of pumping each time. Not too noisy compared to other pump. Love the timer function too. Pumps slow – I have the s2 as well as this pump. I purchased this one second hand as I'll be going back to work when bubs is 4 months. It pumps fast on massage mode but actual pumping is slow. The only downside is the instructions – which are not really detailed enough and a little confusing if you have not used a pump before. Once you have it figured out it is very easy to use.

Love this pump – I bought this pump after being recommended from my community nurse. It is good for me as I only express maybe twice a day to have spare feeds in case I'm out or if I need extra sleep at night my husband can do a feed. Love it! – I have three sisters, and we all had babies around the same time. Several pumps had been tried and tested when my little sister got the Spectra 9 and we were all converted. Yes it is a little loud, so inconvenient to use at night, but frankly I used it in the day to freeze milk for when I was away on buisiness and bubs had to stay home, so that never bothered me. Great size!

Love my Spectra 9 plus for day trips out of the house – I have the spectra s1 but wanted something even smaller for day trips etc. The 9 plus i find is just as efficient as the s1 but so much more compact!! Yes noisier but doesnt bother me. I love my spectra pumps!!

handy, I have been able to whip it out, express for five minutes and give him a feed of EBM without having to stop on the side of the road. If you're worried that its too small and wont be powerful enough, don't stress - i was able to use the pump to clear a block duct to avoid mastitis and it has also helped me increase my supply somewhat.

The price is better than anything else I found - extremely good value for money; and the service is great - anytime I have order anything (pumps, additional bottles etc) they have arrived within a few days.

Only negative with the pump would be that it is quite noisy so you can't pump in bed in the middle of the night without disturbing hubby/bubby but they do state that on their website. Also, would have been nice to be able to choose a bigger shield although i am still using the one given with the pump so it does work.

Excellent pump – After using a Medela Swing I purchased the Spectra 9 Plus pump it is a double pump and so effective I have extracted more milk in less than 10 minutes than what used to take 30 minutes or more with the Swing. Spectra also has brilliant customer service.

recommended Spectra, I'd never heard of it before but then I did some reviews using Google and could see how popular they were.

I was having troubles with my now 5 week old getting too much milk too quickly due to an extremely fast and forceful flow. I fed my toddler until he was 19 months old and I began to get so fearful that I wouldn't be able to continue feeding my daughter as it was becoming too stressful and hard (she was constantly pulling off, choking and it was causing horrendous reflux!). The Spectra 9 Plus has saved me so much stress and worry about how to make bubby happier and more content whilst breastfeeding.

I'm no longer worried that I won't be able to continue the amazing bond breastfeeding shares. I pump before I contact feed my daughter so that I have released some of the force and she is so happy whilst on the breast now. with 28mm which is way too big for me. So if u r like me then u need to order another pair smaller shield sets separately. Also the battery won't last u for 2hrs, but I can charge it every night like my phone. So it wouldn't bother me for that.

Spectra has the most prompt cus termed service team. If u ask a question on their Facebook then u got answered within hrs. If u ask question through their website, then u'll get response email latest the second day. The Spectra 9 plus has been fantastic. It's given me the freedom to be a mum of 3 active kids while being hardy enough for exclusive expressing, and affordable to boot. The let down mode is really helpful and it's been powerful enough to maintain the same supply as when I was using the hospital grade pump. And brilliant customer service too.

The only con really is that it's only compatible with Spectra brand spare parts and bottles, which were not always in stock on the website (other brands e.g. Ameda/Medela many of the accessories/spare parts/bottles can be used freely between the different brands). Also the measurement markers on the wide neck bottles rubbed off within a few weeks of use. And it's noisier than other pumps I've used, but not enough to really bother me or anyone I'm pumping near! However, due to budgetary restraints, this desire was a dream that landed itself low on my list of priorities.

I had read too many bad reviews, and heard too many unfavourable first-hand accounts of cheaper models. Most of them involved motor blow-out. To spend over $100 on something that might collapse under pressure in the first few months, was a waste of money for us. But to spend over $400 on hospital-grade or hard-wearing portable pumps, was money we didn't have on hand. There were a few Medela swings I ummed and ahhed over sitting in our local Cash Converters, but felt 2nd hand from someone I didn't know was a bit risky.

For half the price of the brands and models more familiar to me, my pump has met and exceeded all expectations!

The hardest deliberation once finding Spectra Baby, was choosing between one of the hospital grade or portable pumps! If not for the website's honest and easily read pros and cons on each model, making comparisons between each clear, I would have found this task far more difficult!

The Spectra 9 Plus Portable Electric Breast Pump is everything I need to take off the pressure from full breasts between feeds (and before going to bed for the night, to prevent leakages!), and to quickly grow my freezer supply for both my return to work and enjoying a glass of wine with friends and family. Should I have encountered the problems with baby 2 that I did with baby 1, this pump would have been perfect. So much better than enduring the bicep and wrist strain my manual caused! And double-pumping means what used to take 20 minutes or more is only taking me 10!

I have gotten everything I wanted out of the product so far, and my one complaint (regarding size of breast shield) has been resolved promptly, personably, and without fuss.

If you're in the market for an electric breast pump, I highly recommend you head to Spectra Baby Australia's website and check them out. :) simple to use (one button push to swap between massage and expression mode is great), lightweight/compact (I was really surprised at how light it is), easy to clean sheild with few fiddly parts to assemble/reassemble in order to do so (my medela came away in 4 pieces, yours is just 2). The massage function though not as fancy in its suction as more expensive models, works. Delivery after payment was well within the week. My nipples are too large for the shield that comes standard with the product.

I was frustrated as I have come to rely on this pump. As the pump was still under warranty, I sent them an email with details of the purchase etc. and to my surprise I received a new breast pump today with a prepaid express post envelope to send the faulty one back to the manufacturers.

This has been my best experience when it comes to warranty. Overall, an excellent product and great after sales service/warranty. The massage function. Inexpensive when compared to more costly brands which don't have the massage function. Nothing really. It just stopped working but got it replaced under warranty so no worries there.

Great pump! – This pump works great for both a stay at home mom or a working mom. It lasts for three hours on a charge and is very quiet. The pump is very easy to take apart and clean. sad the word 'express' I was almost devastated! I had tried expressing with a pump before, both different brands and both manual pumps. I could never work them efficiently enough to even get a letdown and it would take me a couple of days of expressing to get a bottle full. So I decided to check out an electric pump...it must have been fate because on that very same day, I was browsing my facebook page and saw a deal for the pumps through Daily Baby Buys. I ended up picking the Spectra 9 over the Dew because of the rechargeable battery and I just wanted something compact. When it arrived it only took a few moments to put together and I turned it on. In my first pump, I got 100mls! I was able to give my nipples a chance to heal whilst maintaining my milk supply! I love the massage part at the start...it relaxes me right away and a let down is very soon to follow! I also love that you can change the suction etc! on advice from swet beats I really played around with the settings and found that i was able to get a good letdown when i found the right cycle length.

I got this pump mostly for the letdown mode but it also has an inbuilt rechargeable battery so you can use power point or the battery which is great. Looks good too. Has a letdown mode, price, rechargeabble battery, nice looking you can double pump with it but it only comes with one breast shield
