St George Amplify Visa - can't use for airline tickets – Well today I cancelled all my St George accounts. So sick of phoning St George to unlock my Visa credit card. This time they blocked it for trying to buy airline tickets, and I got stuck at the supermarket checkout with a trolley full and a declined card. Apparently buying airline tickets is a security risk! So I bought the tickets with my… Read more
Macquarie Bank Visa, no issues. Pointless having a credit card which won't let you buy airline tickets. Such a hassle of a bank to deal with. Have been a customer for 30 years. Not any more!
Terrible program - inept bank – Have wasted countless hours dealing with St George over the years, not sure why I expected the Amplify Rewards program to be any different. Avoid this bank and this card. Not worth your time. Show details
TAKING FOREVER TO GET POINTS – Complain per title. Been waiting nearly a month. Meanwhile, if I spend $3k with Westpac Altitude etc. I get the points almost the next day
horrible service. websites do not work for card service – bad experience. spent hours on the phone and a secondary card still cannot be issues. website constantly fails for online login, and cannot be connect to reward system. staff both on phone or in branch are unable to help Show details
Generous rewards with fast approval & easy application – Decided to go for the Amplify Signature Credit Card after doing a major home loan refinance to St. George. The application and approval process was hassle free, easy and most importantly, quick. I literally got my card in just over a week after i applied and any questions i had were promptly answered by both the call center and branch i visited.… Read more
They even waived the yearly card fee because i am on a home loan package, so i basically earn all those points for free. Its so nice to get a good deal from a bank!!! Ill be with St. George for the long run i reckon :)
Great card when the sign up bonus is available – I signed up for this card as part of the Qantas FF promotion. Great bonus and simple card with no extra fees. Easy process and great for everyday use. Amplify point scheme is a bit unusual but can be converted easily enough to Qantas FF. Show details
Good high end visa card with rewards – I got this card when there was a promotion with no first year annual fee and 100K Amplify rewards point. Signup bonus was the obvious reason to get this card. Please be aware the 100K points is only equal to 50K velocity points or qantas points so it is not as much as it looks compared with other reward credit cards with signup bonus say up to 80K… Read more
qantas points. However, I still got it mainly because it can convert into 50K Kris flyer points. There are very few credit card offerings for Krisflyer points so it was a big selling point for me.
As a high fee credit card, the international travel insurance covers more than other budget credit cards. Also I like the card comes with 2 priority pass lounge visits, which I believe it is better than the qantas lounge visits. The reason being the passes does not have to be linked to a Qantas flight. And there are restaurants in Melbourne airport accepta priority pass for $35 purchase so you can use one pass for 2 guests. So it is a lot more flexible overall.
Good value card – There is not a lot to differentiate cards nowadays. The main difference between this and similar cards is the nice 10% birthday bonus on points. Annual fee is same or a little less than others and the 55 days interest free is worth a lot if you buy everything on card and utilise an offset account. Some cards only offering 44 days interest free,… Read more
and for large monthly credit card spend that is a significant saving in offset interest each year. I also get a big points bonus they were offering for new customers, but seems everyone doing that nowadays.
