Great value double pram – Updated review: Excellent value for money. Can have travel system, bassinet & second seat (came in really handy when I had my second baby but when they both got older they would want to look around more so had to get rid of double pram) Sturdy, easy to use (wheels don't lock) Comes with insect cover, rain cover and accessory pack Large… Read more

shopping basket (was able to do decent grocery shops when I only had one child)

It's quite wide though, so doesn't fit in small boutique stores (would have bought compact if it was available when I had my first baby)

It's on the heavy side especially when I was pregnant with my second baby & had to lift it in & out of my boot (I'm only petite & 157 cm tall)

Used this pram with capsule & double seat for 4 yrs before selling - have now opted for 2 maclaren strollers

now that it's available I would recommend strider compact so long as it's exactly like strider plus but smaller The travel system has been excellent & so handy, just click bub in & out of car & if he fell asleep in car we wouldn't have to wake him up to take him out of car. Comes with extras you would normally have to buy separate. Able to have a second seat. Cheap compared to other double prams A little wide but I knew this before purchasing

BEST PURCHASE EVER! – i brought my strider plus 4 second hand with a second seat. it was still in amazing condition and has been everywhere with me, i love that it has the bigger wheels at the back it makes it so much easier when we go out camping and when we walk to the shops. i usually let my 5 year old dd in the bottom seat when she is tired and she loves it and has… Read more

plenty of room, she can also fit in the top seat with room to grow! my 2 year old ds loves this pram so much he even climbs into it by himself ( he has never done that with any other pram i have had(( i have had 7 or 8 prams over 5 years)) i am also going to be using this pram with my capsule when baby #3 comes and there is still tons of room in the bottom seat for either of my older children. the frame is very light so it is easy to get in and out of the car, i usually take the top seat off and the bottom seat off when i put them in the car it just makes everything easier. I LOVE THIS PRAM easy to use, wonderful big wheels for all terrain, huge basket! heaps of room between seats! bottom seat is hard to take off ( manouver around to get it off with the 2 small buttons)

Good for 2 kids, but quite wide – Changed from the Agile to this one when expecting number two, as this pram allows you to have a second seat underneath. Most prams have their trade-offs and none are perfect, but I wouldn't necessarily buy this one again unless I thoroughly looked at the other ones first. I have a 2 year old and a 12 week old, so I needed something that would… Read more

accommodate both safely and allow me to quickly get it into the car without too much fuss.

It has its good points:

* a fair amount of storage, even with the second child in the seat underneath I can put my back-pack at the front and she rests her legs on it. The zip at the front allows you quick access to the storage area.

* the covers are quite good (comes with waterproof cover, and unzippable breathable area for both the top seat and the second seat)

* it can be collapsed with the second seat in place

* I bought a Jolly Jumper caddy to sit in the space between the handles to boost storage

* it feels like quite a robust pram

And some drawbacks related to the design:

* It's quite heavy and wide, no-where easy to hold onto when lifting it into the car without worrying I'll jam my hand or fingers somehow. It's really tricky to get in and out the car (see points below about collapsing the pram) and is really hard on my back.

* when trying to collapse the pram, the front wheels sometimes turn outwards, preventing the pram from collapsing, which means you have to hold onto the pram with one hand and get down to floor level to spin the front wheels so you can collapse it

* when collapsed, it has a screw that is covered by a plastic clip which prevents it from popping open again. It doesn't always engage and seems really rickety.

* To open the pram up again you have to get down to floor level and lean across the pram. Britax really need to put it somewhere more accessible

* the breathable sunshade cover is less good, it kind of sits on-top of the top seat but any wind and the bit nearest the child's legs lifts up, so it can't be used during walks

* can't really hang a bag on the back with the second seat in place without it dangling into the child's head

* the back wheels are deceptively wide compared to the rest of the pram - I'm forever banging into things

* I wish they carried over 2 of the features from the Agile: lightweight; and the ability to fully let the backrest down so the child can sleep more or less horizontally

So the positives are overwhelmed by the negatives: the design issues that haven't really considered the ergonomics of collapsing/opening of the pram. Ability to add second seat and collapse the pram with it in place; robust Really hard on the back when trying to collapse it and put it in the car

Love it – I couldn't live without my pram I love it, and its a bonus that its compatible with my baby capsule too, my daughter looks very comfortable in it too as it can lay back so her head doesn't fall forward and the basket space is great too, best thing I ever got  Show reply

Wonderful! – Fabulous pram! Had the strider plus 4 for two kids and loved it! We also purchased the capsule and it was amazing! Well worth the cost. It was easy to get in and out of the car, only downside was that you can only go through the wheelchair access lane at checkout, sometimes i'd forget.. Also washed very well with some warm water and napisan.. Came up a treat every time!

Great Pram except the wheels – Have found this pram great, easy to push and move around, love the large basket and have now purchased a second seat and 2 capsules (1 for each car) to use one it for my second child due soon, but now my front wheels have started ticking, I took them to a bike shop to have a look & they have said the bearings are fine. Great pram, if only it weren't as wide! – I think this is a great pram. The handles adjust, the front wheels can be locked, there's tonnes of room in the basket underneath and my baby is very comfortable in it BUT I do wish it were narrower (so it would fit in all supermarket aisles and on trams) and that the seat came to a full upright position.

Disappointed :( – The cap on top of the front wheels has broken off and the top teeth in the harness have snapped off. Also its hard to open without scratching the front of the pram. Would have loved it otherwise.

Love it- bought 2nd hand and still going strong – I bought this pram due to living out of town and needing to walk on bush tracks. I use it with both the clip on capsule for when were in town and just popping into places and with the seat for longer adventures. I love that it came with rain cover and sun cover. So much better than what Id hoped for – There seems to be a bit of a "mummy pram snobbery" when it comes to how much a pram costs. I should know, I was one of those people. Great pram – I loved our strider plus four. However only used it for one bub. The size didn't bother me, nor did the width. Very disappointing product – I have got a Strider plus 3 wheel pram and I have not used it for a while (maybe 6 months) and now I have posted on line to sell it. The one for me – I have a 2 and 1 year old. Prior to this I had a doubletake Valco pram that was like a train on tiny stroller wheels, and Loathed it. Before purchasing the Strider 4 I read many reviews who mostly pinpointed the weight and width, well let me give you the other side. Firstly it holds TWO toddlers their weight alone means you are always going to… Read more

have a heavy pram (no matter the brand) that's a bit bulky. Secondly I have had no problems with the wheel base, it gets through my house doorways, through shops, on buses and trains and up and over gutters ect with its chunky back wheels. My kids don't mind being in either seat, the canopy's keep the sun off them, and it comes standard with a rain cover. The wheel base is great, I can turn the pram with one hand with both kids in it, without the wide base and big wheels, this would be impossible. On top of all this it looks great, I can access the basket from the front or sides, its not a big basket but I am not a mother who does big shops with my kids (I leave them home for that) so its never been an issue, and colasping it for the boot is no big deal. I love this pram, its even made me get out and about more as with my old one I used to try and avoid using it. If you like me, want all the features of the babyjogger without the exuberant price tag this is the one for you too.

Not great, but not bad either – We've had our pram for over 2 years now and recently bought the second seat for our newborn. It's great being able to have both the bub and our toddler in there, but once you put the second seat in you do lose quite a bit of storage. On the plus side it easily fits in our car when it's folded with both seats attached (although we have a station… Read more

Great for the travel system but too heavy and bulky – I bought this pram second hand with the toddler seat. Originall it was great before our new bub cane along but in comparison to the steelcraft cruiser we had it was so much heavier. Being pregnant and trying to heavy this beast in and out if my car has caused me to gouge off paint from my brand new car's paint as it is so heavy to lift. It also… Read more

takes up the entire boot of our Lancer as the pram does not fold down with the seats in it. Sometimes I have to refold it multiple times as the wheels twist and get in the way when I fold it down.

Once bub came along the capsule system is great but the toddler seat is so difficult to remove you need an army if men to do it. With a 15kg toddler and the capsule on top this pram is so heavy added to this the maneuverability on this pram is terrible and as it is so chunky getting through some shop aisles is more like an obstacle course.

While we initially loved the idea if being able to use this with both our small children the weight of this pram plus added weight if the kids makes it a hard workout on the legs just for a nice shopping trip out with mummy friends. I am selling the entire thing including the capsule and getting a Valco Snap which is half the weight of this beast. Love the travel system, good accessories. Heavy, bulky, extremely hard to maneuver, toddler seat is hard to remove, doesn't fold down with seats in. Takes up entire boot as has an extremely large frame

Be careful – I really loved this pram, but my husband didn't he said it was too heavy. Fantastic pram – I purchased this pram with the idea that I would have 2 children close together and the 2nd seat was perfect but its the travel system accessories of the car capsuale that made this a great pram. Did find sometimes it was a bit wide to fit though narrow shops but generally I had no issues.

Great basket area.

Fantastic sun cover with the hood, even without using the sun shade.

All parts like sun shade, rain cover, seat liners etc are included in the pram cost and aren't an added cost.

I have now sold my pram and gone for a smaller one as my oldest no longer requires a pram and I wanted a scooter attachment the mountain buggy prams have, but its not nearly as good as the strider reliable, comfortable for baby through to toddler Wide

Far to big – I bought the strider plus 4 when I had my first child, loved it for a bit than the cons started outweighing any pros. No pram is perfect but this is very close – I was one of those people who thought "a pram is just a pram", I was definately wrong and hated the first pram I bought. I realised that being taller and having a long walking stride a lot of prams wouldnt work for me as I kept kicking the back wheels or the supporting bar across the back wheels, and the handles were also to low on a lot of prams.… Read more ·  1

The strider is great with such a tall handle so I dont feel like a giant and I can go for a really good paced walk with no issues at all. It is also heavy but at least by folding it in two stages (the seat comes off and then you fold the frame) means that the whole 13 kilograms doesnt need to be lifted at the same time. But after looking at all the other prams around there were not very many prams that were lighter. I love the large storage basket which is great as I can take the nappy bag, bottles, my expressing equipment and still fit all my shopping in it, I saw a lady with a fancy $1200 pram the other day struggling with all her shopping bags and I thought "you should have bought a Strider!'. Yes being wide does make it harder getting around the shops and I feel terrible when I bump into things and bump my baby around but like I said no pram is perfect. I have never had an issue getting through check out isles but it is awkward manouvering it around tightly stocked shops and we have found that doors of some old buildings are to narrow. There was a problem with the front wheels squeaking which was annoying but I removed the front wheels and put WD-40 around the points where the wheels connect to the base and the squeaks have completely dissapeared. If you are thinking about wether to buy the Strider Compact rather than the Plus the only differences I can see when comparing my Strider to my friends Compact is the Compact is 8cm narrower, 1 Kg lighter, has a brake that you push down to put on and push down again to turn off, and it has an extendable hood which has a fabric cover instead of just the mesh cover. For me it wasnt worth the extra $200. So overall, even though the Strider is very wide and heavy, it is sturdy and a dream to drive and is perfect for my height. great for tall people, good storage, so nice to drive very wide, heavy, squeaky wheels (but easy fixed)

A really great pram! – I purchased this pram when my son had been through 6 prams before he was 1, he is very tall. owning it I still love it. I walk alot and did a lot of shopping with the pram when my son was young. I have fit half a grocery shop under this pram included a big bag of cat litter. It is insane what you can fit underneath the pram.

The pram is sturdy and well built, hence it is a little on the heavy side. It is also a little harder to steer than other prams especially once your child gets close to the weight limit but I have worked out that this is because the seat is so high therefore the weight is distributed differently and therefore making it a little harder to steer. But this is one of the reasons this pram is so wonderful. It is fantastic that the seat is up so high, it is easier to interact with your child, gives more storage space and children love to sit up high. so where there is a con there is a pro.

This is a great pram for those that need their pram to be like their car, need to take a lot of stuff with them, use their pram regularly etc. Suspension is great and just as good as my previous pram that had the pump up tyres.

I always loved that my son could fall asleep in the very comfortable seat and I could flip the extra large hood over and he would sleep for ages. I also love that the foot rest actually adjusts upwards unlike any other pram as this means that when they are sleeping their legs can be out straight not bent like with other prams when they are laying flat. With other prams they can only have their legs straight when they are in a bassinet which they soon grow out of.

I love the storage pouch, I can fit my wallet, keys, 2 nappies and my phone in the zipped compartment and the cup holders are so useful. I usually also put my phone in the mesh pocket on the front of the pouch for easy access.

I love that the seat is reversible as I often would switch my son around even when he was 2 when there was a strong wind or it was colder. I love that it comes with a footmuff, raincover, the accessories pouch and the seat insert and headrest. Very annoying having to buy accessories, I thought it was really great they were included.

I always felt like my son was very safe in this pram, protected and happy. He loves this pram and we still use it on occasions for him, he is 2.5 years old and 103cm so we now have a Baby Jogger City Mini GT for him as he is just such a big boy. But I know he misses his Strider as he is always trying to put his legs up when he falls asleep.

I am keeping the Strider for the next bub and looking forward to using it with the capsule and the bassinet.

Wish it wasn't so wide, if you are thinking of purchasing one new I would definitely recommend the Strider compact.

Also we broke the clip in the harness and Britax were wonderful with giving us a replacement, wonderful friendly service and very generous. Great features, extendable hood, tall seat, very large understorage basket, comfy seat, useful accessories pouch Wide, heavy, can be difficult to steer but the pros are so wonderful I have overlooked the cons. Just depends on your personal preference.

the pram. However it would be better if it had a reversible handle instead of seat, because if baby is in the seat its too heavy to clip out and turn around. the seat is quite high and this is great as you dont have to bend over into the pram to lift up baby etc. The pram is quite heavy and i find it hard to lift into my 4x4. Good but dissapointing – I quite like my Strider Plus 4 - it's sturdy, goes over bumpy terrain well and the base fits a lot of shopping. pocket has broken off.

Not a major breakage as I can still use the zipper but annoying as it's harder to pull the zipper. I was more concerned at the seat buckle breaking as that is a safety feature and should never break. It seems to me that Britax use cheap materials to make their products which is a shame as I bought a Steelcraft because it was the brand my mother used and had a good reputation.

At this stage the pram is still usable and hopefully will see a second child but it is very frustrating to have spent over $500 on something I have had to have repaired and continue to see breakages with after just 12 months of usage. A friend of mine has also had similar problems with her Steelcraft stroller (different model).

Perhaps they could extend their warranty service to 18 months as most women buy their stroller in advance and most warranties are only valid from date of purchase. I bought my stroller when I was 5 months pregnant but obviously didn't start to use it for another 5 months so when the buckle broke I was shocked as I'd only used it a short period of time and my warranty was nearly expired. Big, sturdy, large base that fits alot of shopping Repairs needed within 12 months, small things still breaking

shopping trips as it had next to no storage room. When we fell pregnant with our second, we knew we would need a double pram to accommodate our toddler who had only just turned one. We went straight for a side by side set up (love n care twingo) thinking that this would work best for us. It did not. It steered quite well in an open space and had great storage however it was big and bulky on the outside but small and squishy in the seating. It was also terrible for afternoon walks and trips to the park. This was when I decided it was time to get rig of all the prams we'd previously bought and go right back to the strider that I had wanted to begin with. And I'm so glad we did! It's perfect and my kids love it! It has plenty of room in it plus there is still heaps of room for all my shopping and nappy bag. It steers really well, even with lots of weight on board. The pram itself is light enough for me to lift into the back of the Hilux by myself and it folds so easily and quickly which is a must once the kids are strapped into their seats impatiently waiting to go somewhere. I don't worry about going anywhere by myself with the two kids now because I know I have my strider to organise all of our stuff in.

One minor downside would be that it's wheels are a tad wide for some stores, but they are the kind of stores I don't like to take my kids into anyway!

All in all, fantastic pram! Heaps of room, easy steering, light frame, no fuss folding, organisation pockets, great visors! Back wheels slightly wide.

with little door ways. for the price of a brand new one you'd think they could make it easy to get into shops, wheels that don't squeak, and light enough for get in and out of a car and don't get me started about the sun shade thing its the most hardest thing to use! great when they are in the capsual to heavy to get in and out of cars, to wide for shopping

you or the other way, etc. Easy to steer. Easy to use. Very good to use when you have 2 or more kids & easy to go anywhere. The bulkiness & very heavy for a small person like me when you are folding & unfolding to & from your car boot.

Great pram – I found this pram easy to steer and maneuver. Like the height and adjustable handle easy to use. Easy to fold. I did dislike the bulk and that it came apart in two pieces. Too wide for check outs, often gets stuck. The leg cover doesn't stay on at all. Overall I did like this pram and would recommend it for the price. Easy to steer Too wide.
