Strider 2 replaced with 4 – Hi guys, can someone give me more info on their strider 2 please I can’t seem to find any via online etc. I purchased a second hand bargain for $10 and I think it’s incredible. We have toddle seat and cover. Want to know if it can turn positions or not? No complains really. Also what year was it made and what is the value on it today? Thanks guys
Fantastic! – I have used this pram with my two youngest kids and have LOVED it. I love that the bassinet is rear-facing, I love the toddler seat, I loved detaching the bassinet and using it as a small cot and also that it works with the Valco skateboard. I have had a few problems with the brake popping itself on, but it's usually fine with a little kick. I did… Read more
a lot of research and found this the absolutely best pram for people with a toddler and a baby. Very easy to use. Value for money, well-designed, easy-to-use, good features. Brake sometimes put itself on while I was walking.
Easy to use when you have your hands full – Easy to use baby stroller with 2 kids under 3 and a 5 week old baby this pram is easy to use sturdy and the baby capsule is reversible and easy to put onto the stroller I recommend this to my friends Baby capsule is reversible
Little disappointing – The wheel base is quite wide, I didn't find it a big issue just takes a bit of getting used to. The problem with my pram though is that it tips up too easily! And the break sticks which is an issue when trying to get off a travellator. Quite disappointed with the pram :( Holds baby and toddler, adjustable handle, large wheels, folds quite small Tips backwards too easily!!! Break sticks
Terrible – DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY! For the cost of this pram there are much better out there! Personally I would wait untill these issues have been resolved, and don't believe every thing the store tells you. It takes baby and toddler Faulty wheels, and it is soooo wide. Our folding system was also faulty as well as the break!!! Not happy
Terrible – i wouldn't recommend that any body buys this pram. The wheels are dodgy, you will be without a pram for weeks or months if anything goes wrong, and that's providing that you can get them to admit that there is a problem. if they fix the problem with the wheels it would be a first class pram but until that happens steer clear. it took my baby and… Read more
toddler with ample room The wheels are hopeless they wobble all over the place and bounce baby's head around. On my first pram only one wheel wobbled and i sent it away to be fixed which took 3 weeks, it came back better but still with a wobble so steelcraft sent me a new pram which took over 2 months and about 50 phone calls to arrive, only to have the same problem. I was then told by the baby shop and steelcraft that it was normal because they were rubber wheels and not pump up wheels. After alot of complaining the baby shop agreed to give my money back. The thing that makes me angry though was that in the first pram they admitted the wheel was a problem and almost had it fixed (and being that there was only one problem wheel it kind of concluded in my mind that it was a fault) but in the second pram, they more or less accused me of being a troublesome customer because i wasn't happy and made out that i was seeing things.
Terrible – buckled wheels??!! can you believe it? dont go any where near this pram, no matter how good it looks. When the wheels are fixed (if they are fixed) i will buy it again. great design. very compact, safe, looks good and affordable. If you like the feeling of pushing a pram over rocky terrain then this pram is for you. The pram comes standard… Read more
with buckled wheels!! its a joke!! i took it back to the store i bought it from, and we unpacked and tested other steelcraft take two's that where exactly the same!!
Their excuse was " its impossible to make perfect round tires using plastic molds"
My children where bouncing the whole time i was using it,(which was only once) and my new born was sliding down from the excessive bumps.
Mind you we where pushing it on a completely granite tiled flat area.(westfields)
OK – Wheel problem not so noticeable with one child on board, but very obvious when you add the toddler and a few bags of shopping. After the replacement rear wheels from the store proved to be even worse, Britax took my Take 2 for 3 weeks to replace the wheels and align the frame. The new wheels are an improvement on the old ones, satisfactory but are… Read more
far from being perfect. HOWEVER, overall I would have to say I like the design and the stability, and if the wheels weren't an issue I'd be quite satisfied. Even with the wobble I found it incredibly easy to push around, even though the larger child rides in the front. I guess I'm less satisfied with Britax and the attitude at the store than I am with the actual pram. The Strider Take 2 has a very wide seat. There is plenty of space between the main seat and the toddler seat even when the main seat is upright. The 4 wheels keep the pram stable when the toddler is on board. The basket under the pram has ample room for all your bits n pieces. The handle height is adjustable. I find it's generally easy to manouvre. Well! Wheels, as most other Strider Take 2 owners have said are not round. The pram tends to wobble along instead of roll. It's quite heavy to lift in and out of the car. Wide rear wheel base takes getting used to and doesn't fit through many supermarket checkouts.
Good – very happy with this pram. I was very reluctant after reading reviews about terrible wheels but the pram has shock absorbers so its not really an issue unless you want to go off road. The pram is solid and safe for a newborn and toddler without being too heavy and the steering is great. Takes a toddler and baby comfortably with plenty of room for… Read more
both, stable and safe compared to other prams with toddler seats, extremely easy to manoeuvre with both children on board, not too heavy compared to most double prams Wheels not fantastic, but not that bad either.
Good – Overall a great pram! (for 2) This is my 4th Pram (third with a toddler seat) and has been the BEST so far. We use the pram, most of the day, atleast 4 times a week (almost all terrain) and for the past 2 years and it's still going strong. The pram has proven to be a comfortable ride as both children happily fall asleep in it. Having 4 wheels… Read more
also makes it a SAFE and STABLE pram even with a toddler in the seat. (Added reassurance if you have a fidgetty toddler, or one that likes to climb in and out of the seat.)
The Pram also has added suspension which seems to cause a very slight amount of wobble or bounce when the Pram is empty (or carrying only a newborn baby). As I would imagine, the pram was designed ideally as a pram for 2 so the suspension was likely designed with added weight in mind, and thus, would only function properly (without the wobble) once some weight is applied.
In saying that, I would not recommend this pram to someone with the purpose of pushing ONLY an infant. (Partcularly one under a few months old.)
Lastly, as with ANY pram, I suggest trying them out in the shop first and also looking around at stockists if you find any problems. Unlike some of the reviewers have experenced, my pram has had ABSOLUTELY NO ISSUES with the wheels buckling or wobbling and I would NOT put that down as a 'general' product flaw.
All in all, Very good Pram Attractive pram. Much like other 'striders' available but with a toddler seat option!
Plenty of room for baby in bottom seat even while sitting up and easy to get baby in and out of the back with the toddler seat attached.
Heavier weight limit on toddler seat than most prams.
Easy to manouver with both children onboard. (and even with a third standing on the front)
Folds very slim and can even be folded with toddler seat still attatched! We can fit this one in the boot of our KIA CARENS!!!
Can attach "buggyboard maxi" (skateboard) to the back and child can stand comfortably. Basket at the bottom lacks in room. A large curved bar (for the back wheels) runs right through the middle of it and makes it difficult to fit bigger things in. Also needs to be near empty to be able to fold the pram properly.
Wheels could be a better material but so far (2 yrs of regular use) they're still in good condition.
Can sometimes be difficult to fold.
Wheels make this pram too wide for standard checkouts.
Good – I love this pram - far better value for money than the Phil and Ted's. We are getting heaps of use out of it. Would recommend it to anyone needing a toddler seat. My daughter loves sitting up in the toddler seat (she hated the Phil and Ted style toddler seat) and it is easy to adjust the main seat in the pram. The pram folds up with the toddler… Read more
seat still attached which is a plus. Good strong tyres. This pram is easy to push and steer - and compared to my other pram is relatively light weight! The hood is quite big and so gives a lot of shade to the baby. The basket is small (you loose space from the bar in the middle). Whilst it is easy to fold, it is also easy to catch your finger in the hinge as there as nowhere to "grab" it to force the fold. It is not a good "paddock" pram as travels too roughly. The back wheels are quite wide.
Bad – Too wide, too heavy, too big, too tricky to put up & down. Love the basinette feature as you can cart baby around with you. But I bought a Chicco stroller when my baby was 9 months & I love it so much more. The basinette for newborns is great. The wheels are fairly smooth & the toodler seat is a handy feature. The wheel base is far too wide & gets… Read more
stuck in doorways & checkouts. The pram is terriby heavy so not easy to lift into the boot (esp if you've had a ceasar!). It is very hard to put up & down. The bassinette is tricky to get right putting in. It doesn't sit in a fully uright postition so toddlers hate sitting in it.
Excellent – I love this pram. I've had no problems with the wheels as a few people here seem to have had. My son loves sitting in the toddler seat to wave at everyone!! As I said in the cons the only things for me that I would like to change/adjust/fix would be better colour options, lighter and less width. But this pram is really great, though it has the… Read more
wide wheels you can still turn a tight corner as the steering is fantastic! I've tried a lot of other prams and this one far far surpasses the rest. Incredibly easy to push. Easy to fold down (will also fold with the toddler seat attached)! Adjustable handle. Toddler seat is easy to attach and detach. Plenty of room in the shopping basket. Good sun shade. Heavy to lift into the car. Really wide back wheels. No shade over toddler seat. Colour.

OK – I am looking at updating this pram as it no longer suits my needs for the above reasons. I would not reccommend this pram to someone who is getting in and out of the car a lot, however I still enjoy taking the bubs for a walk to the park as has a great toddler attachment and easy access to the new bubba. I love this pram for walking my new baby… Read more
and toddler (in toddler seat), as I find its very easy to walk with especially with the extendable arm. There is plenty of space in the basket for bags, nappies etc I wish I hired one just for the first three months!!!
1) It takes up lots of boot space even in a 4WD
2) the wheels always fall off and they have worn down quickly
3) Dosent fit through a normal checkout, use the pram/wheelchair checkout
4) It is difficult to fold down
Excellent – I love this pram!! This is my third pram, and last! I love the four wheels because it is more sturdy and wont roll over like alot of three wheelers. My son loved the bassinet as he could sleep soundly unlike in a stroller. now he is big enough for the stroller i can now attach the toodler seat which my daughter loves. it is really easy the push and… Read more
steer which I have not found with other prams. it fold easy enough when you get the hang of it. I also like the colour choices you have in this model. All in all this is a fantastic pram and i have never had a problem with mine. I think it is well worth the money!! Very easy to push and steer. solid wheels so no flats! has bassinet and toodler seat attachments. comes is lots of different colours. it is very wide so it will not fit down all checkout aisles.
Terrible – Wouldnt waste my money till new wheels are made for this pram. Took ours back and wont be going there again! it takes a baby and toddler the wheels on nearly ALL prams are stuffed, you get a bounce when you push it, the problem is the spoke system they have used. Even the replacement wheels have the same problem. Pretty poor effort, they should be recalled.
