Nano plastics for your eggs with a flurry of PTFE to finish. Who thought this filth was a good idea? If you want to avoid toxins in food, give this a wide berth.
Excellent and Idiot Proof – Very easy to use and perfectly poached eggs with firm whites and runny yolks. Got sick of spending $$ for breakfast just because I didn’t know how to poach eggs at home. Note - cooking times were double what they said and I needed to add more water to the tray halfway - the shape comes out different - it’s not a ball with the yolk in the middle - it’s a crescent with the yolk sticking up with a small film over it Show 3 replies
MIXED EGGMOTIONS! – We used to have an older model which in our opinion worked much better than this plastic version. The eggs do cook well, impress with the poached but getting the poached egg out of the plastic trays in dreadful, having to pick them up with a tea towel. In comparison this new model isn’t better, it is worse. Like the timer buzzer, though it is… Read more
certainly loud. Would I purchase or recommend this appliance, well no. Some of the water indicators have now rubbed off making it difficult to judge how much water to add.

Cooks Eggs Perfectly – I’ve had my eyes on buying one of these automatic egg cookers for a while now & finally decided to buy the Sunbeam brand because I have had many kitchen appliances from Sunbeam over the years. This was advertised on sale at the Harvey Norman stores & I couldn't resist purchasing one any longer. And I’m happy that I did. ⠀ ⠀ To cook boiled eggs… Read more · 2
with the Sunbeam Poach & Boil, you add the water using the included measuring cup, & fill the water to the appropriate level for: Soft, Medium or Hard boiled eggs. ⠀ I have cooked boiled eggs and also poached eggs with this appliance & they also were cooked perfectly. ⠀ Likes: Quick & easy to cook boiled eggs etc. Ready bell buzzer. Cooks up to 6 boiled eggs at a time. Small & compact. Small enough to leave on the kitchen bench or store in a small kitchen cupboard space. Non-stick water heating surface, makes cleaning simple. The additional bonus items included.
Dislikes: Does not have an auto switch off, when the water has completely evaporated. For this reason, you have to be mindful of keeping watch of this appliance so that it doesn’t boil dry if left unattended. So I suggest making sure that you use the buzzer option. Unsure if not having an auto off switch included could pose a fire or safety issue in the home due to the heating element being on unattended or not. I am not willing to risk testing this out unattended. I would hope that Sunbeam will include an auto off option in any future newer versions.
It's a shame its build quality isn't as high as its cooking quality – This is a good egg boiler, though after a while the gray plastic support for boiling the eggs has broken in serveral places.Superglue doesn't help. I'm havent bothered with trying to clean its hot plate without scratching it. Adding an auto off when the timer's up would be nice too, instad of the loud buzzer on it. I don't use the buzzer, but the timer on my microwave - set for 11 mins for boiled eggs. Show details

Dissapointed – I purchased this so I could have boiled eggs without heating the old electric stove and I must say I am rather disappointed with it. Oh it does boil my eggs and even ‘poached’ some, however the quality and functionality leaves a lot to be desired. First is the ‘feel’, it is very thin plastic and would not take much to break, especially the lid. … Read more
The settings are off and cook (no buzzer) and cook (with buzzer). The buzzer is very loud so hard to miss. The unit does NOT turn off when finished and this is a concern to me because even when the water has gone it will continue to cook until it is turned off manually which can result in burnt eggs and possibly worse. I personally would not allow children or elderly to use it. They base has rust like deposits in it and in the crevasses of the egg rack which is off putting. Overall, I would not recommend this egg cooker and I will be looking for another.

Would get higher rating but – I bought this egg cooker almost a year ago. Has been great. Perfect eggs. Steamed veggies. But the numbers on the measuring cup are disappearing. So I can't do half the functions that this cooker does. And can barely see the numbers to do the other functions. So without these numbers this cooker is unusable. I contacted Sunbeam via facebook. They… Read more
answered with a part number and website to go to and get another measuring cup. Not the customer service I was expecting. Thought they would say sorry let us send you another. Or let me get the water measurements in mls for you.
The problem is these numbers are decals stuck on the cup and not indented into the cup as other measuring cups I have. So I am supposed to source a replacement (cost unknow) for it only to last another 11 months?
I see on previous reviews that others have experienced similar. The device works perfectly but is useless without the correct amount of water.
I also notice that with previous reviews that Sunbeam has ceased to respond to comments since 2016.
I am glad that I only bought a $35 device from Sunbeam. I definitely will not consider this product again. And when considering other products will stear clear of the Sunbeam name.
Disappointing.

Revolutionised breakfast at my place – I love this egg cooker, I had one until recently when it died because I literally used it to death. It lasted over 3 years being used EVERY morning. Alright for $40. Back when I was working long hours, I'd be getting up at 6am to get a good walk in for the dogs and then have about 45 mins to shower, style hair, put makeup on, get dressed, eat… Read more
and get all my stuff organised to leave the house. The only thing I looked forward to was a hot breakfast, but how can you do this with just a couple of minutes to spare? Easy, cook eggs and veggies in the Poach & Boil. I would check whatever I had in the fridge in, put it on and go have a shower. Admittedly, you can't leave it unattended because it will not turn itself off, but at least I could do other things rather than tend to the stove or other.
With the cups, you can also mix up a small omelette or frittata, just pour it in and let it steam while you do something else.
The measurement cup is perfectly accurate. Remarkable, really. I was naughty and just used to run the whole thing under the tap while I cleaned it (while unplugged of course!). It never had any problems with this.
I even started cooking lunch and dinner in it – perfect for one person, or even two. I'd wrap some chicken in foil with spices and steam that on top of the white grate. Then add some veg in for a few mins at the end. Beautiful!
In the end the grey ring which sits on top just deteriorated too much from the heat, but it lasted very well for the price and was a much loved part of the kitchen. I'm not as time-pressed anymore but I've been meaning to buy another.
So simple, easy and a reliable soft boiled egg every time! – We love this little appliance in our house. It's used nearly every morning for our daughter so she can have 2 soft boiled eggs. If the yolks aren't runny she's unhappy - this has only happened once with this little beauty - that was because I left it in the machine for 5 minutes too long. The poach 'n' boil cooker can do boiled eggs either… Read more
soft, medium or hard; poached eggs or an omelette. We've only ever used it for boiled and poached eggs. It is easy to clean - just have to wipe the base out and rinse the lid.
The only complaint I have is we've had our cooker for 2 years and the measurements on the little jug you get (to tell you how much water to add) is slowly wearing off. I would advise to not put this jug in the dishwasher otherwise the measurements will be gone in no time at all.
Overall, a fast and easy way to cook your eggs. Can cook a soft boiled egg nearly perfect every time! Jug measurements are slowly wearing off

Great asset to my kitchen! – I have been using my Sunbeam Egg Cooker for over 12 months now and I love it. I always hard boil my eggs 6 at a time and leave them in the fridge as a quick snack! I have done poached eggs in it and it takes just a minute or two they come out great! I have even done small omelettes in it, and they too comes out nicely, so quick so easily to clean,… Read more
a great purchase. I have just bought 2 more for up coming birthdays for my kids! I highly recommend this product! My only complaint is, that the lines on the measuring cup fades too soon, I suggest placing a dot with some nail polish to mark the spot to make it last longer!
Love it. Works every time – Using this mostly for boiled eggs. Turn out perfect every time. Using it at least a couple of times a week So much easier then boiling in a saucepan. Love it. Can highly recommend Show details
Brilliant multi use appliance – I bought this to simply boil eggs, poaching is a bonus. When it arrived I was delighted to find that it also has a steamer rack which I can use to steam veg and dumplings or pork buns all of which come out perfectly. It's easy to set up and once you get used to how much water you need for each operation you can't go wrong. One word of caution, if you use the 'cook' option with the alarm it's loud enough to wake the dead, steer clear! Show details · 1

Absolute dud due to 1 massive flaw! – Do not buy if you would ever use this Sunbeam product when others are sleeping. You can choose to cook and use your own timer or use the buzzer option on the device and guess what, it’s loud enough to wake your neighbours! Seriously what were they thinking! To Sunbeam, if you had a fix for this issue, I have provided you two opportunities to advise what you propose. I am not taking time out of my day to call you. I will sort it myself! Show details

Cheaply made – The egg cooker hasn't been used much. It cooks reasonably well but even without much use the plastic cover has melted?? The whole machine looks really dirty now and can't be cleaned. Every time it's used it leaves some sort of residue on the plate and it looks like the plate is getting eaten away. It's time for it to go to the bin.
The egg tray will eventually crack – I actually like this tiny appliance - in fact I am on my second one; but only because I was *hoping* that the egg tray, on which the eggs sit, won't crack on me this second time around. Alas, it still has; and looking around here, I can see reviewers sharing photos of the same symptom. I could super-glue it, but just not sure about heating super-glue next to something my kids eat. 2nd machine purchased - absolute rubbish !!!! – I bought a 2nd machine and this one is absolute rubbish. The buzzer has stopped working !!!! And water is going under the plate and leaking out the bottom of the machine. This is dangerous !!! I threw the machine in the rubbish bin straight away. I will not be buying another Sunbeam product any time soon. Show details
DISAPPOINTED – I had my last egg cooker, not a Sunbeam, for about 10 years. This egg cooker has lasted a little over 3 years, with much less use, so I'm very disappointed. I rarely used the poacher because when I cooked 2 eggs it seemed to cook 1 more than the other. I found that the lid was often hard to get to sit in its grooves. Last but not least, I had to throw it out as there was water getting in between the water tray & works underneath. Show details
GREAT KITCHEN ACCESSORY – This is my 2nd Sunbeam Poach and Boil. The first one I had and used for 10 years. The 2nd one is even better as it has a grill insert to steam veggies. Always have perfect boiled eggs and mini omelettes every time. Easy to clean and uses up minimum space on benchtop. Show details
Totally perfect – I am extremely satisfied with this product. It does what it says, is reliable, cooks eggs just the way it says, either soft, medium or hard, as well you can poach eggs or make an omelette. The poached eggs are perfect. Easy to clean too. Show details · 1
Love it! – I ordered a Sunbeam Egg Poacher & Cooker & it is incredible! I don’t have the worry about messing up poached eggs ever again! It is very easy to cook eggs in, has a timer that sounds when they are done & is super straightforward to clean afterwards. Highly recommend! Show reply
Great but instructions poor – Cooks perfectly but only with buzzer setting. Boiling one egg soft on cook without buzzer after 15 minutes still cooking and rock hard egg. Instructions should state cooking without buzzer have to time cooking duration manually. Show details

Why did you mess with perfection?? – I totally agree with Dinky.. My husband & I had the old sunbeam one forever. we thought we'd stay with a trusted brand... What a SHAM!! The newer version is TERRIBLY DESIGNED. I've burnt myself a dozen times trying to extract the poached eggs now I use it awkwardly with tongs. VERY DISAPPOINTED!! Show details
Great product. Good value and simple to use – I brought this a couple of months ago and it's great. So easy that even my husband and young son can use it. It poaches eggs with perfect gooey centres and you can take your choice of hard, medium or soft boiled eggs. The timer is great as you don't have to guess how long before you take the eggs out. A better way for boiled eggs – I wanted to buy this egg cooker for a long time and finally pulled the pin when I got the store credit from good guys. I decided to buy this over another brand only because of the good reviews online, and it is proven true with my first use of this brilliant design. I am regularly using it since my first day of use and never had any trouble so… Read more · 1
far. You just need to follow the measuring cup markings for each type of egg cooking required. I found it is a very good investment and a beautiful addition to my kitchen.
The image of it looks big in websites but the cooker is pretty small .
The best – I love this egg cooker this is my second one Just bought a month ago, the original one lasted 8 years . They cook pouched eggs to perfection and I also use it as a mini steamer as well when I just want a few Dumplings or Thai fishcakes. I use this cooker at least 5 times a week Show details · 1
Stupidest thing I ever owned – The old metal & one that was my father's was perfect. It had water levels in the lid and it cooked just right every time. This new plastic one is useless. Never get the result we want no matter how we adjust the water level. Very disappointed and will be looking for another better designed one. Hate it. Show details

Eggs to a perfection – I’ve used my egg poacher and it turned out perfect It’s fantastic no guessing the machine does it all I set it to soft and it was just perfect I’m impressed with my purchase Service was great, they did what they promised I will buy from there again I’m really impressed Show details · 1
Mine must be faulty – It seemed to work well for a few times, then every time I use it since, it just ends up in a big mess of bubbles and slosh. The eggs seem to leak into the water and the soupy mess that eventuates is just not worth using it. Gunk gets coated on the lid and it's just a mess. Unfortunately I just pushed it to the back of the cupboard when I should of… Read more
found my receipt and swapped it over. I think I might try the Kmart one. I only bought this one as it could do poached eggs. All the other reviews sound quite good so I think mine was just a dud.
Great, works perfectly – After ruining so many eggs , I decided to buy a proper egg poacher / boiler. This is brilliant. Perfect soft boiled eggs just the way I like them. The buzzer goes off loudly so I can hear when they are ready and the water measuring cup makes it a breeze. Highly recommended for those who cant boil an egg ha ha Show details
Works brilliantly – Choose to buy your product from a retailer and not the company's website. The company has used ambiguous language in describing the item for sale, in particular "five bonus items". Well that is not correct, the items are not bonus or extra, because the cooker doesn't perform without the items. We have had several of these beauties over the last… Read more
five to eight years and in only one case has the unit packed it in, always it has been the egg rack. I purchased the last unit from the company's website believing I would receive five bonus items, bonus equals extra, doesn't it? Not in this case. I would have been better off going to the local retailer, paid the same money, had the unit that day and not paid postage. Will we buy another in the future, yes, most definitely, but from the local retailer.
Hazard if it doesn't work properly – Like previous reviewer, on first use buzzer did not go off, checked it after the approximate time it was meant to sound to find the tray had melted, and the external housing also buckled with the heat. Refunded but not game to give it another go, a definite fire hazard. Show details
Terrible product – I opened the egg cooker to use for the first time this morning. After reading the instructions I followed them and put the product on. Come back a few minutes later wondering why the buzzer hadn't gone off yet and the inside rack had melted. I don't know if it was faulty or not but I would not recommend this product, it is too dangerous. Lucky I had come back to check on it. Show details
Could be better – A good little machine but, with the following modifications, could be a great little machine: Make the parts dishwasher proof Decrease the level of buzzer - far too loud The poaching trays need a little handle or ridge to be able to remove them from the cooker without burning yourself The poaching trays need to be a little higher so egg white… Read more

The numbers on the measuring jug need to be more than printed on so they don't rub off
Great little unit – I am disappointed that the tray has rusted! Also disappointed that the water level instructions have rubbed Off both unit and measuring cup and my guesswork is not always accurate. I bought it mainly to cook hard boiled eggs for salads and sometimes they are undercooked. Think it is a great unit in spite of drawbacks though. Show details · 1
