Useless! – Truly hopeless. Doesn’t get hot enough. Steam slide function doesn’t emit steam. Too light weight so you have to apply so much pressure to try and get the lightest crease out. A very frustrating rip off! Show details
Light but omits problematic dirt – Sunbeam irons have declined in quality over the years. The Sprint iron is light and irons clothes well. However, like other Sunbeam irons I have purchased in the last 10-15 years, they omit dirt that comes out while ironing. Then I need to press the self clean button and iron a paper towel several times to rid the dirt. Previous Sunbeam irons I… Read more
have owned over the years never had this problem. The photo shows dirt after cleaning on four pieces of new paper towel.

Waste of money! – lasted 2 mths then started playing up, I believe it is the "auto switch off" that is faulty, it finally got un-bearable, only worked when it felt like it and just got worse :( Took it back for a refund. Show details
Waste of money, waste of time – Had this iron not even a month. It really does not perform well at all. Terrible on linen, I am so disappointed with it. Creases remain even if the fabric is damp. I have tried steam, shot of steam, spray..Nothing positive about it. If I had kept the packaging I would have returned it. I have just done a comparison with my cheap Kmart iron.....… Read more
thumbs up.... Sunbeam sprint BIG thumbs down. I have been able to return it to Myer. New iron needed & it won’t be Sunbeam
Rubbish iron – The only thing positive is that it is light. It doesn’t iron well constantly have to fill it and auto switch doesn’t switch off for a very long time. It does have a long cord. Show details
Fail on all counts. Do not buy – Bought July 2020. Previous iron was a Tefal that lasted over 30 years. I overfilled it and shorted it out. Sunbeam was only brand the store had at that time. "But it's a Sunbeam. Should be OK." Wrong!! $115 worth of bad design. Have scalded myself several times while ironing details - collars, buttons etc, as the jet of steam blasts from the… Read more
iron's toe. Nowhere to put the thumb for extra pressure except on the 'self clean' button, spray button or on the heat dial. Lights and buzzers drive me mad. The water level is near impossible to see in the pretty blue casing. Cautious underfilling requires frequent refills. Water refilling jug is pathetically small. Discarded and used a bigger jug. Water refilling hole poorly designed - not funnelled. Sole plate doesn't glide smoothly. ** Seems to leave water streaks a lot. Being a 'dumb male', I put it down to my ironing technique. After putting up with all this for 18mths, cursing every time, I suddenly discover why the wet streaks: the sole plate is split and leaking! No wonder! Wish I had discovered that 6 mths ago.
This is the third Sunbeam appliance that has gone 'in the bin', including an electric kettle and a Turbo oven. Slow learner? Maybe, but lesson learnt. No more Sunbeam! I wish Dyson made irons.
Blew up for no reason – I've had this iron for about three years and I was never thrilled with it but it did the job. The whole time I ironed, black bits would come out of the holes onto the ironing board and clothes. Anyway, today I plugged it in as usual and it literally blew up for no reason. Fire came out the plate and it made a big pop sound. It tripped the… Read more
mains switch. I have never had an iron blow up on me before, lucky I was ok. Don't think I'll be buying Sunbeam again.
Hi AGC, I have just sent you a private message if you could kindly respond via this please. Thanks
Nasty Iron - If I could give it one star I would - Do not Buy – Purchased this as the last iron lasted a while and was sunbeam, what a big mistake, no matter what setting it is on, it pulls the clothes takes the material off and the water constantly leaks everywhere, the biggest peice of junk every purchased. In the bin it will be going. Show details
Black bits – Was quite good to start with but know after 8 months the base is peeling and leaving black marks on clothing and does not glide very well, rather bad Sunbeam, off to Philips for me! Show details
I wish you could just say do not buy! – I also wish I had read the reviews & bought something else! This is the worst iron I have ever purchased!!!! I have always been a fan of sunbeam irons but this one does not deliver at all, for a steam iron, it doesn’t get hot enough. It drags the clothes & does not glide. i was given a Myer voucher for Christmas & bought late January on sale for… Read more
$59, what a waste of money!!!! I spend hours ironing for the clothes to look like they are crushed. I suggest to take it off the market & stop disappointing your buyers!!!
Sunbeams White Elephant – I have a 20+ year old Sunbeam steam and dry iron that has served me well. It is now spitting out water droplets onto my cloths whilst pressing them and so, time to renew. I bought the Sunbeam Sprint and the first time used there were water smears on my shirts. When standing the iron up I then get a steam blast and water dribbles (until they… Read more
evaporate) from the steam holes. I tried the clean button but nothing happened. There is very little steam coming out of the iron when actually pressing your clothes and as my shirts are cotton they do need enough steam to relax the fabric under the pressure of pressing the shirt. I returned the iron to my store and they gave me the option of refund or replacement. Given my satisfaction with Sunbeam in the past I chose replacement. That was yesterday. Today I will return the iron for a refund. What was once a great product has now fallen from grace; a very long way.
Peter Hearnshaw. (Yes I do press my own cloths as I am an ex Drycleaner)
Worst iron, ever – I wish I had reviewed this iron more before buying. It is horrible. It doesn’t get hot enough to iron anything and doesn’t “glide” at all. Takes double the time to iron business shirts and even then doesn’t get the finer creases out leaving the shirt looking un-ironed and unprofessional. Don’t buy this iron unless you want to be disappointed. I’m just hoping MYER will allow me to exchange it without the box (still have receipt thankfully). Show details

Worst performing iron ever – This is the worst iron I have ever owned. It doesn't glide. It doesn't get hot enough. It catches on all fabrics and it is truly hard work to iron all materials but especially linens. Besides which it cost $145 because I had no other option but to buy it at the local country hardware. Hi humbug, Sorry to hear of issues with this iron. Please return it to the store of purchase.

Know better, choose better.
Makes ironing so much harder – Wish I had read the reviews first. I was reluctant to replace my 14 year old otherwise perfectly good sunbeam but with a broken water cover. The Sprint is truly awful, just as the other reviewers have said. I will be returning it! Show details

Sunbeam sprint sr6300 – Will not take creases out of denim jeans, sticks to my daughter work shirts and burns nylon as soon as it looks at it. Then it wont heat up or steam absolute rubbish money back would be good, tried cleaning it to get it to steam, made no difference to the ironing if I had the receipt I would take it back. This is the worst Sumbeam iron I have ever owned, I am extremely disappointed – When I first tried this iron, I thought what is going wrong with Sunbeam and their irons. The iron would not glide over my clothes and pulled the fabric back with it, adding more wrinkles than what I could iron out. This iron doesn't appear to heat to the temperature guides. The button for steam is loose and is depressed and unable to release… Read more
steam.
I have only ever purchased Sunbeam irons. I was 18 when I bought my first iron and I am 60 years now. It was the most expensive of the Sunbeam irons and I am so bitterly disappointed.
I should not have to buy another iron in such a short time.

Ok – All in all it is an ok iron. But not as good as the old Sunbeam i had for 15 years or more. Heats up ok and spray and steam features work great but there does not seems to have the heat in it. Maybe they make them safer these days and there is not so much heat in them. Show details
I should've read the reviews – I guess I should've read the reviews instead of thinking that an "iron is an iron". I have a friend who has a $300 iron that she swears by that I've always thought was a ludicrous amount of money to spend on an iron.....now i know better. This thing not only has no glide game, it is also very splattery. it has left an iron imprint on a number of… Read more
my shirts that unfortunately have on come out in the wash. I would expect better from sunbeam as they're usually a pretty reliable aussie brand. Despite all the above criticism, I still have it and use it as im too lazy to return it. it still does what an iron does but theres probably better irons at this price point.
Disappointing – Now I see why this iron was $25 cheaper on sale. I have to agree with other respondents that there is very little "glide-ability" and on many occasions has created more creases. I was taken by all the bells and whistles especially the auto cut off (new for me) though the water tank is ample. My previous Sunbeam was great and finally retired… Read more
itself after nearly 18 yrs of service. Suppose for me ironing the odd shirt it is OK but would hate to have to do a family's weekly iron. Agree also that the stainless steel, highly polished hotplate is much better that this coated "non stick" hotplate on the SR6300. Look elsewhere for a better iron. .
Worst iron ever – I have had Sunbeam irons in the past but this one is shocking. The non-stick base grips to fabric instead of 'gliding' over it as it states as being a feature. It puts extra creases in the fabric as you're ironing it. I purchased this at Target and will be returning it today Show details
Does NOT glide over fabric AT ALL – I have been using a Kambrook iron made in 1999 for years and years but it was time to update so I purchased this iron for a reduced price in the Boxing Day sale at Target. I used it for the first time this morning and it pretty much sticks and grips to your clothes. It does not 'glide' over fabric as the product states. I am very disappointed and want to return it. Iron does not glide – I had a a Sunbeam Ultra 5800 which has been a great iron for many many years. I thought it would therefore be safe buying another Sunbeam. However this one does not glide over the fabric at all so therefore makes ironing impossible. I used it once and have now put it back in the cupboard and have gone back to my old one which works 100% better… Read more
than the new one. I notice it has a 2 year replaced warranty but the thing is I don't want another SPRINT iron but one with a stainless steel sole plate. Might take it back and see if they'll let me exchange different one.
Not much better than ironing with a hot house brick!! – This iron is supposed to glide over the fabrics etc etc. Well it definitely doesn't come close to it, it sticks in places and forms more creases in front of the crease that you're trying to iron out. It is heavy to push, forwards and backwards and with a load of ironing to do, a weight lifter's arms would get tired. I've only had the iron 2 months… Read more
and I think i"ll have to dump it, couldn't give it to some other unsuspecting soul.
Sorry Sunbeam, but this product has hit the bottom of the barrel and your reputation can only suffer for it. I'm off to buy another iron, but definitely not a Sunbeam.
