We purchased a Ford Endura for our daughter just recently from Sunco Motors at Maroochydore. Tony was our sales consultant and his service and aftersales service was superb. We are very happy with the vehicle and the service received by Tony. We highly recommend the Team at Sunco Motors. Thank you for all you help and assistance, it was greatly appreciated.
DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM HERE! I purchased a used Nissan Navara UTE from them in July 2025. Salesperson said at the time it came with the NISSAN warranty, yet when I went back with a bank cheque I was told it wasn't on the warranty and a number of things had to happen to reinstate it, including having it serviced with them. I wasn't provided any… Read more
service history (being told it had it). Within 4 weeks it had an oil leak from the engine. When I demanded the service history the leak had been noted on two prior services and not remedied. The car was also sold to me by them unroadworthy; it had a rear-facing lightbar, which I found out is illegal, yet they gave me a roadworthy certificate?! Service dept are arrogant and worst one I have ever come across. Sales department don't trust, and do your research.
Sunco Motors & MG Australia = The "No Fault Found" Masterclass. Dangerous car, warranty "peace of mind" has turned into a 6-month (and counting) nightmare without being able to use car. Bought 2021 MG3 from Sunshine Coast MG/Sunco in 2023. Attracted by that sweet 7-year warranty. Spoiler: the warranty is only useful if they admit faults exist. … Read more
The "No Fault Found" Gaslighting Timeline: - Issues from the start - Every issue met with "no fault found" - Fuel leaks started 8 months ago - MG Australia required fire department attendance before authorising tow to service centre - Fire department confirms fuel leak. Sunco? "No fault found" - Constant fuel smell, more leaks, back to service centre: "No fault found" - Entire tank leaked while parked.
Plot twist: Multiple people (fire department, independent mechanic, myself, partner, friends) have seen, smelled, photographed, and/or videoed fuel leaks. Visible stains on undercarriage. But Sunco's entire service centre team somehow can't find what everyone else can see, with the car on a hoist and visible stains?
Either they need new glasses or new business practices (I'll let you guess which).
Oh, and there's a national recall notice for fuel tank defects for this exact model. But sure, my car's totally fine.
Their latest gem: Not a "fuel leak," just "some form of liquid filmed dripping from car to the ground." Comedy gold. What else drips from a fuel system, smells like fuel, and causes the fuel gauge to go down? Maybe the car's crying out for help.
Exercised consumer rights under Australian Consumer Law for refund. Refused.
Currently QCAT proceedings. Sunco Motors/Sunshine Coast MG are still denying everything despite documented evidence (shocking absolutely no one).
Aside from them making me call the fire department 6 months ago, MG Australia have ignored every message and email since (including emailing CEO directly), despite promises of "we'll get back to you within 24 hours".
Read other reviews. Check social media. There's a pattern here that's harder to deny than my fuel leak.
If you value your safety, your money, your sanity, or need a car you can drive: look elsewhere.
The ok news: QCAT exists. The bad news: You'll need it.

I have just purchased a new vehicle from Sunco Motors. A huge thank you to Wendy Brewin who made the whole process seamless. She explained everything in detail, was so helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Great service Wendy, thank you for everything!
Thank You Lee Pratt – I needed a car part for my 300C, and Lee Pratt was very helpful and efficient. Gave good customer service. Sadly other departments and their reviews don't align with my experience. Show details

Extremely Disappointed with Service and Ongoing Faults. I’ve endured over a year of stress, uncertainty and inconvenience due to a persistent knocking noise in the front of the car. Despite multiple visits and several parts being replaced, the technicians failed to diagnose or fix the issue. 4 months on and the problem still exists. With no time… Read more
frame of when my car will be fixed.
I spent countless hours returning the car, explaining the problem, and even taking technicians for test drives. The dealership had my car for several days at a time, yet the fault remained. In the end, it was my husband—a non-mechanic—who identified the real issue after removing the wheel himself. Only after showing video evidence did the dealership agree to fix the actual problem and it is finally booked in to be fixed.
This experience has caused me significant anxiety, wasted time, and a complete loss of confidence in both Nissan vehicles and this dealership’s service department. I expected much better for a brand new car. I do not recommend this dealership based on my experience.
Even with a diagnostic tool sent from the states they still have not been able to diagnose the problem. An X Trail TI 2021 model with 66 000s on it should not be having consistent problems.
The poorest customer service I’ve had to deal with.
I bought my LDV D 90 twelve months ago. Since then I have had three reverse cameras fitted and a head unit on the dash but the reverse camera problem is still there. Two weeks ago I was in town and was unable to unlock the doors with my remote or key supplied except for the tail gate. I climbed through the rear of the vehicle removing head rests… Read more
until I could get into the drivers seat (not easy for someone in their seventies) and also discovered that the doors would not open from the inside. I then drove my LDV the half hour drive home with the rear view mirrors folded into the doors. This had to be illegal because I could not exit my vehicle from the inside and no one could open the doors from the outside if I had an accident. RACQ could not help and told me to take it to the dealer two and a half hours away. LDV roadside assist would only take it on a tilt tray 100km and I had to pay up front, then apply to be reimbursed for the first 100km. In my opinion the vehicle is under warranty and should have been carried all the way as not everyone lives in a city close to a LDV dealership. My LDV D 90 has now been at SUNCO Motors Maroochydore for one week today. I have rung Three times to get an update on my car. The first time the service department did not answer the phone so I left a message with the switch to call me, (No Phone Call Was Received). The second phone call I was told that they were able to get into my car and that the Head Unit on the dash had been replaced, but the rear camera problem was still there and that someone would ring me with an update, THIS DID NOT HAPPEN. I rang Sunco Motors again today and was told that it was worked on over the weekend and the problem with the camera is still there, told that they fitted another camera (the fourth) and that they were now looking for the problem in the wiring harness. My problem with Sunco Motors is that their service department does not keep me informed as to what is happening with with my vehicle. When you ring no one answers. For a new car dealership their service is terrible. In short I would not buy another LDV and when fixed, I will be getting rid of mine.

New WARNING-STEER CLEAR OF SUNCO MOTORS (do your research on which businesses they own) On friday I signed a contract and paid a $500 deposit on a white 2019 ford ranger wildtrak which was originally owned by TJM Maroochydore (another company sunco owns). The advertised priced on the vehicle which i have photos of was $54999 that had then been… Read more
reduced to $52999 as the salesman had told me it had been sitting for a couple of months hence the initial price drop and they dont like stock to be on the forecourt for to long. The salesman and myself settled on $52000 after he had gone to talk to the boss. I walked away happy and my partner and myself even looked at a new vehicle for her when her trade in comes up next month. Saturday morning comes around and I get a call from the general sales manager stating that they (he and the owner of sunco/tjm maroochydore and other various car yards on the sunshine coast) were unaware of the extras which had been put on the car by their own business and would not sell it to me at that price, instead relisting it at $64999. On their website at the time of writing this review (#u52011). Honouring a written contract and handshake is a fundamental business practice any company not willing to do this should be avoided. I work in the caravan and 4x4 industry and shall be sure to let anyone know my opinions on this business. I'll also be moving my polaris to another company for servicing. It will pay you to check which companies are under the sunco umberella. I've never had such a bad experience with the purchase of a vehicle ( new or used) , and more should be expected from a business and their processes after 28 years on the sunshine coast. I have reported this to ACCC, QCAT, Office of fair trading and motors trades association of Queensland and am also seeking legal action.

Poor servicing for Hyundai & Not interested in selling any Mahindras We had an i20 till Oct 2024 and every time we used to drop it for service regularly, it would be really hard to make out whether the car had been serviced at all or not - such was the quality of service. Cars were never washed (we were not expecting detailing anyway but just some… Read more
common sense like wiping off grease stains and smudges) and the standard excuse was always that the 'guy who washes the car had left or not in today and they didn't have enough manpower for cleaning'. The focus would be more on selling addons than than mechanical issues - I don't know if this a lack of technical expertise or it's just the way the management has instructed the front desk. Anyway, we stopped going to Sunco and preferred local mechanics at MyCar who did a much better job offering better value for money, road side assistance and the car didn't miss a beat. Fast forward and I learnt that Sunco has also dealership of Mahindra. I bought 2 XUV 700 in a span of an year - first one in Oct 2023 and another in Sep 2024 after selling off the i20. Each I time I approached Sunco for a purchase, the sales team didn't seem to be interested in selling them at all with no offers or the usual stuff you normally look for when buying a new car. I purchased both from Village Motors (Starkey earlier) at North Lakes who promptly added floor mats, teflon coating and pick up + drop off service making it a pleasant experience. The second Mahindra that we bought has a LED display issue and there was a service recall about 2 -3 weeks ago to fix that for which we dropped off the car along with first servicing. 3 weeks later, it has recurred which implies the fix wasn't done properly. Like everyone else, I am up for supporting local businesses but the overall experience has been just too bad to ignore and not post a review after being repeatedly let down. Unfortunately there are no other options on the coast and we have keep running to Brisbane vendors who seem to have the bearings right.
The worse customer service ever. I was lied to by one of the girls at the front desk who claimed to be a mechanic, she wouldn’t put in an email what she was telling me. My car still under warranty but they were wanting me to pay nearly $1000 to pull apart at my cost before they would let me know if warranty would cover. I got a different story… Read more
every time she spoke to me. She was condescending and rude. They were going to charge an extra $3000 plus if warranty didn’t cover it. By that time they would have had my car pulled apart with me having already paid $1000! Have since had a second opinion and been told they were totally ripping me off. I have always had a Hyundai and been happy with the car but this experience has turned me off. Will be looking at other brands when I upgrade my car this year.
Arrogant, underhanded and indifferent — avoid – Supplied a brand new Santa Fe from Sunco Hyundai Maroochydore that should never have been let off the lot. and then attempted to lie about it too. The issues remain unresolved of course.
Unfortunately disdain for their customers seems to go all the way to the top, with a disinterested dealer principal and group service manager completing this absolute joke of an operation that do not have the requisite integrity to be dealing with large sums of people’s money on a good faith basis.
As so many reviews suggest – steer clear unless you want to spend your time taking your complaints further with Hyundai and the office of fair trading.

Substandard customer Service – Purchased a quad bike from this dealer on the 9/5/24. Right from the start the salesman was dismissive & very unhelpful. Bunch of amateurs – Drove from Noosaville to have the rocker cover gasket replaced as it was leaking a small amount of oil. I had booked the car in week or so earlier, I got there and was told that they had to order the gasket in. I was called a bully for writing a letter and phoning! – I was sold a car 30,100km. I asked a very clear question before purchasing. "Are the services up-to-date for the guarantee." and was told they were. So when I found the log book the week after I purchased it, I was surprised and shocked to see the 30k service was NOT done. no doubt it was intentional. Peter promised to call me back with a price for the service and insisted they were under no obligation. Even though he was deliberately dishonest. He never called back. I wrote to the manger Mike to explain the situation and ask they make it right. Mike never responded so I called him a few days later. He promised to call me back. He didn't. I called again. He promised to call back by the end of the day. He didn't. etc. etc. Today I finally 'spoke' to him. He was utterly rude from the very start. I didn't get a word in edgewise. Was not heard. Was just spoken to very rudely. Told I was using 'Bullying Tactics' (yes my letter and phone calls, all of which were the response of them NOT returning promised call). I am certain, if I were a man he would NOT have used those words. I'm gobsmacked at the dreadful communication, rudeness and customer service skills. I'd never recommend Nissan Caloundra to anyone.

Engine coil misfiring - given the green light to drive home?! – Took my car in to get a service, as well as getting them to have a look at an issue with my car not getting into gear properly and having the Malfunction Indicator Lamp light appear briefly. slipping gears and staying at high rev. Picked up the car, started it and the malfunction light was on permanently and the car was running as rough as guts. Went into the dealership and told them and was advised “this is normal” and that they would order in a coil and I could go back in a week or two to get it replaced. Managed to drive home but had to call a mechanic to come and have a look at it because there was no way I was going to drive it, especially up the steep incline of our basement carpark. My dad had to drive to North Lakes Hyundai to get 4 new coils and spark plugs, and the mechanic who luckily lived in our building, swapped everything over and it was back to normal. He was amazed that Sunco would let me drive home with the second coil misfiring. I just got off the phone with the girl from Sunco who had called to enquire as to why I missed the appointment and I told her my story and all she could say was oh sorry about that. Not good enough. I told her I would never return to that dealership. I can’t believe that they let me leave with the car shaking the way it did and think I was lucky to not have blown something under the bonnet. The manual even states that if the MIL illuminates, potential catalytic converter damage is possible which could result in loss of engine power. I questioned this when I picked the car up and was told that was worst case scenario and they were happy for me to drive it home. I also had a follow up call from their marketing department the day after the service, I relayed the entire situation to her and she said she would pass on the information to the Service Centre Manager and I told her that they could phone my dad to talk about it. He never received a call. My new boss told me that she has heard shocking stories from this dealership and she would never recommend them, so small world.

discuss car. I was told it was a write off and I couldn't have the car back. I was offered a below market pay out figure or I could pay them an extra $5500 to buy same model and year car, with less kilometres. I asked for the claim number but this was refused. I contacted Hyundai Australia and dept fair trade and whilst waiting their reply, I received a letter from Qld transport to say that my car was a repairable write off. When I phoned the company that had notified Qld Transport that is was a repairable write off, it was a salvage company that had "successfully tendered on my car" that Sunco had listed and sold without my knowledge. Sunco finally provided me a claim number and when I phoned the Sunco Insurer, I was told that they had paid out direct to Sunco. I was fortunate I was able to unravel what Sunco had done and could finally deal direct with insurer. This was really stressful time, the owner of Sunco refuses to deal with public (according to Sunco staff) despite the Head of Hyundai Australia advising he had been in contact with owner and owner was keen to resolve. I ended up dealing with Service Manager Michael who was the only reasonable and customer focused manager throughout. Sunco did provide a loan car after my car was totalled.

Upon research a day later after trade in we see the same car for sale for $43,999. This car should not even be for sale as it has huge safety issues and I would definitely not recommend anyone buy this car. The kilometres are sitting at 9,587 metallic blue executive diesel!! BE AWARE It also has a cracked rear spoiler top left hand corner of rear window, that you can’t replace because no one wants to help you fix it quoted over $700 for the part and so on…LDV customer service is the worst at helping.
