  Verified Third Party Property Damage

Not for the faint-hearted – When a young P-plater rear-ended my car a year ago, and provided a claim number with Suncorp the next day, I naively thought that meant that my vehicle damage was going to be covered by his policy. On the contrary, I am reminded of the sign at the gates of Hell "Abandon hope all ye who enter here". The young man had concocted a version where I reversed backwards into his car, and whenever I contacted Suncorp, which in itself was a feat of endurance not for the faint-hearted, they supported the lie, even though I pointed out that the road was completely flat. So began a year of misery, culminating in a complaint to the Australian Financial Complaints Authority, and they, God love 'em, agreed with the blindingly obvious ie I had been rear-ended. Suncorp had to admit liability, but they are not going peacefully, maintaining that they were never sent any photos when they had sat on them for over a year. Think Sergeant Schulz in Hogan's Heroes: I know nuffink! Can't find the photos, rehashing the facts, obfuscating, anything but pay up. I don't know how Suncorp has any customers at all, except that the ones who like to tell bald-faced lies are very well supported. Suncorp is a complete ethics-free zone. Still waiting for the pay-out.

  Third Party Property Damage

The most frustrating people – They always leave you on hold for hours at a time when you call the reimbursement team. They never know what’s going on and have never got notes to catch them up as you are always given to a different person. They don’t listen or try to do what you would like, Instead they try to get out of paying anything or try to drag it along and make it take ages to process anything then try accuse you of trying to make money from the claim even though you were the one crashed into and you didn’t ask for any of this. Absolute time wasters and have zero care for the people they are there to help. I’m not even with Suncorp and they have mucked me around for months now as the third party in the accident.
