owned a 2007 Swift S and kept that for 14 years and loved it, nothing ever went wrong. The sound system (CD player) in my old Swift S however was way better than the sound system in the Swift Sport MY2020. That's the only thing I miss from my 14 year old Swift S. The Swift Sport has much thinner internal plastic and if you crank up the volume on the sound system, a number of panels in the car with start to vibrate. I suspect the speakers are also smaller, and possibly worse quality than me previous Swift. You have to tone down the bass to reduce the vibrations. I've considered replacing the sound system, but I don't think that will stop the internal plastic panels vibrating.
But there is one other problem in my Swift Sport that Suzuki can't/won't fix and it's a complete buzz kill, to the point where I'm beginning to not want to drive the car. There's a metal sounding vibration/rattle coming from the engine bay whenever the accelerator is touched. Foot off the gas, the rattle goes, foot on the gas, rattle comes back. Doesn't matter what speed, it's there when the car is in neutral if you rev the engine. Feather the accelerator on and off and you can easily tell it's there. It's there everytime I drive it, it never goes away. My Swift Sport has been back to the local dearler 3 times, and they reckon they can't find where it's coming from. This is my 4th Suzuki, I currently own 3, and to refer to Suzuki slogan of "for fun's sake", it's not always fun to drive. I try to forget and block out the vibration/rattle, but it's hard to escape.
I'm going to go back to Suzuki again to see what can be done, but as I previously said, this issue is a complete buzz kill.
UPDATE: all Suzuki turbo models will develop a rattle from the Turbo Wastegate, and this will start anywhere from 1000-3000kms. So if you buy any current Suzuki with a turbo, even the 1.0L, don't be surprised to start to hear a rattle from the engine bay over time. Suzuki say this is expected & normal, but they don't tell you that before you buy. Google "suzuki swift sport boosterjet engine rattle"

klm and if feels like it's getting better than when I bought it. So a message to suzuki if your listening. The car desperately needs more traction. It does burnouts in second gear. It also sways a little. And its a victim of potholes. Also it needs a bit more umph up to 2500 rpm. This car needs a LSD, ECU upgrade wider tyres with better grip. Stiffer sway bars and a sportier shocks. This could be added at the dealer. Plus a premium stereo. This car is bonkers and will need those small upgrades to make it 10 out of ten. Like the GR Yaris this could be the Swift Type S. This car truly has the makings of a cult classic. It was made for a price point. Forget euro cars this isthe benchmark – Ok I purchased new my first Suzuki Swift around 2010. 1.5 Litre manual five speed. Quick enough. Robust construction. Confident handling stopping. servicing. Safety features aplenty. My use is mainly two people however two adults plus two kids easy. The car does not stress. Model changes shape features etc over 10 years minimal. I have owned 4 Swifts over twelve years the last two cars being Swift Sport. One manual and now an auto. What a joy a real gem of a car. Gutsy fast sure footed uber build quality. The auto is solid torque converter traditional transmission no buzzy CVT or euro gyro gear loose stuff. Turbo slick motion effortless. I like them. Patrick
Love love love my new car – Car is an absolute gem to drive. Smooth, comfortable, zippy and economical what more could you ask for. It has many options and features for its price point. nice wheels and sleek design. Android Auto is fabulous connecting effortlessly, speaker is clear and takes instructions well. Interior is very sporty and seats are so comfortable. I am in love with my car.

however, with the higher price, you can obviously tell Suzuki has cut down a lot of costs. 1. Reduce the overall size of the car. Ie total length of the car, smaller dash depth and remove the cover of the boot. 2. Bad Design of front passenger window. When I open the passenger window a bit, it hits the door all the time and makes loud noises. 3. Safety alert is very sensitive. I sometime get freaked out by the alert in the middle of the road. 4. Boot size getting worse - the boot of last model was already small. It didn’t come with the boot internal cover (100% cutting cost). It now makes a awkward space where it sinks in, not deep enough and creates a gap between the boot and folding seat. It hard to perfecting utilize it when the surface is not flat! Didn’t get the design at all.
I have read some reviews before purchasing the car. However, I didn’t really think they would be problems until driving one now.
Good rental car – I had this as a rental car for 1 month and I love the Apple CarPlay for music with the big touch screen but I don't know if it was my cord for the phone but it kept disconnecting from my Spotify and then reconnecting. Some of you will know that nearly all car manufacturers have ditched conventional automatics for CVT or Dual Clutch transmissions, and quite a few of these manufacturers have had problems with both types. No one knows whether either will last the life of the car, and there is no car review of a car with a lot of kilometers on it with either of these transmissions. But on YouTube, you will find videos about the failure of these, - for some brands, but not all, - yet.
Many people buy automatics, but they have *no idea of what sort of automatic they are getting. CVTs for instance, can not tow trailers, as the belt in the transmission may slip under added load. Dual Clutch transmissions can not back up trailers with a load, on to steep drive ways, as the clutches can burn out. And they become confused in slow moving traffic as to which gear to engage. They are also unsuited to stop start traffic jams, as the clutches will have a slipping effect. This is why those in the know, try to find a car with conventional torque converter. Suzuki had CVT transmissions in some of their models, but dropped them for torque converter automatics.
The new 2018 Suzuki Swift has a bigger body than before, and has plenty of room for 4 people, with lots of headroom at the back. I am speaking about the 1.4 litre turbo booster jet engine powered model here, but it probably applies to all 2018 Swift models, that despite their light weight, they feel very solidly built. And they do not feel particularly light to drive. In fact the electric steering does not suggest lightness at all, they seem well planted to the road.
The Swift Sport is the fastest of Swift models, and shares the same turbo engine as the SUV Vitara & SCross models. But being lighter than those, and with the engine spiffed up more than the SUV models, the Sport is a very fast agile car, and will leave all cars in their wake when traffic lights change to green. And without any real effort.
They have every safety feature known to the motor industry, except blind spot monitoring, which for a short car is not needed, the side mirrors give a perfect view of hat is happening on the sides, to the rear of the car. And the view through the back window is perfect, and expansive.

I think the basic Swift is about $16,000, but the Sport is $25,490 for the 6 speed manual and $27,490 for the 6 speed automatic. All colors except white, are metallic and cost an additional $500.The on the road cost of the Sport with metallic paint, is around $31,700.00.
I strongly suggest you watch the many YouTube videos on the 2018 Suzuki Swift Sport, and see the grins on the faces of all, but one reviewer. And take no heed to the comments about Suzuki hard plastic surfaces, you simply do not notice them when driving.
Spacious ! – Suzuki swifts are very spacious, lots of leg room and fits a family very comfortably ! Very quiet car and cheep to run ! $50 for a full tank that would usually last 2 weeks. Servicing is good price not to expensive and and overall good car for a family or first car buyer ! Show details
Awesome car with a very pretty design – The performance is great and love the special design of a medium-size car. I like the way how they design the booth. Overall, I enjoy driving it. I guess the downsides are swift is for people who are tiny or medium size as there are not much leg room and the two back seats are not as spacious as the toyota corolla.
