So bought 20kw system with 42kw battery ( for my use) but can only give back 1.5kw to grid!!! They advertise on radio they have big batteries to HELP at cricical times yet I am willing to give them my excess at a very cheap rate, but nope they dont want it. Solar is a load of rubbish, well done labour government and Mr Bowan you are not telling the truth. Show details

Synergy, get your telephone customer non service agents in line – Called to ask why solar input into their grid wasn’t being offset against the cash billed to my electricity account on 17/12/24. Input high & clearly documented on the bill. English voice listening to music on earphones, causing line ruckus and an awful line basically spoke to me like a cockroach. More or less told me to F off talking over me and… Read more

telling me to go talk to my solar panels’. Until I outright & straight up called her behaviour out as absolute misconduct and said ombudsman complaint incoming. Suddenly line gets clearer, she tells me to apply for the solar ‘debs’ quite clearly, & how to on webpage. Had to be confronted twice over about extreme dismissive rudeness to get to this point about my own high input solar panels. Rude as anything, absolute fraudulent behaviour & should be held to account bigtime.

Synergy Solar Buy Back Scheme Rip Off - beware! – Synergy have changed their rules regarding the buy back scheme in 2021. We added 15kw batteries to our solar system and now we get no credits in our bill. Synergy now use the total capacity of your inverters not the set capacity when installed. We have 2 x 3kw inverters with one set to 2kw. With the new rules, we are giving Synergy free units… Read more

every bill. Example last two bills we exported 911.838 units which previously credited us $65.06 @ 7.1350 / unit and charged back to us @ 28.0109c / unit which equals $255.41 and 2nd bill 736.63 units @ $52.56 credit with a recharge value of $206.34. Synergy are now getting these exported units free of charge. What a rip off from a multimillion-dollar company. We are being penalized reducing our carbon footprint.

Terrible - Poor communication – I have been trying for a year to register for the DEBS, every time there is a problem, they don't even have the decency to call me to tell me why it was rejected/cancelled. But they happily take all the solar energy I am exporting in the system for free and resell it. Show details

Gross overcharge on my bill! – When I had my solar panels put in, the meter had to be switched to a smart meter. When I got my bill from Synergy, it jumped from a $133.66 average to a $966.12 bill! Since they couldn't read my old meter, they estimated it but it was way above my normal usage of 235 kWh average. It claimed I used 2587kWh! Nothing has changed in my living… Read more

space, so this was a grossly incorrect. When I called them, they just said to call back after one week, after being on the phone to them for half of the morning! They then adjusted it and took $66 off, but it is still a gross overcharge. Their estimation was not fair and reasonable, and not supportive of solar installation, their response was not empathetic. It felt like they just wanted to rip me off!

Really can't understand Synergy Billing – I have a 17 Solar Panel 5KW system with a 5KW Solar Battery. I use most of my power during the day when the panels are working and just the TV at night which is well covered by the battery. We cook with Gas. Why am I still getting Bills when I put so much energy into the Grid. Did the Government scam us by inducing us to go Solar at a big cost to… Read more

us which I am now strongly starting to suspect! Ever since getting the Smart Meter I feel we are being ripped off financially.

Synergy deliberately holds up the installation of my Tesla solar battery – I have written a poor review about Synergy service regarding meter readings and charging a fee for that. I do not directly want to accuse them of punishing me for that, but I ordered a Tesla Battery by NaturalSolar and all was arranged for installation on Friday 25 June. I took a day off work to be there. 24 June, NaturalSolar calls me that… Read more

Synergy still has not approved my application for the battery installation 'Distributed Energy System Application -PTC (Permission to Connect). they had received that application on 13 May 2021, but on 25 June still not taken a decision. There is nothing special about my house or electric wiring, I live in a normal suburb in the city of Perth and normally this process takes 3 weeks !! The installation had to be cancelled and Synergy could not tell NaturalSolar when they would sign the document. I am angry and this is yet another proof for the negative impact of having just 1 energy supplier in the state. Other states have multiple suppliers. At Synergy, they can not be bothered less, as they have the 'power' (no pun intended') to make life difficult for their customers. I know they hate solar and batteries.

3c Feed in Tariff For Solar!?! – By far the worst in Australia and completely ripping off people with rooftop solar. It's outrageous when comparing to any other power company in the country. The WA grid should have been privitised and competition introduced decades ago. Show details

Synergy Solar WA are far less than honest (Solargain do the install) – We had been looking to install a solar system to our rooftop here in Mindarie WA. After checking reviews, we decided on going with Synergy Solar as we believed that they would give us a level of service which you would expect from a government owned entity. Their quote for an install of a 6.6KWH solar PV system comprising of: 1: 20 x P370… Read more

Optimiser 2: 20 x Q-CELL Maxx 330W 3: 1 x SolarEdge 5.0-1 with backup 4: 1 x SolarEdge Meter all inclusive of installation at a price of $9,736 after rebates (Full cost $13,311.17) Their price was the highest amongst the quotes received, but after confirming with them that Synergy have their own installers, and do not merely use another installation company for their installs, then we were happy to pay the extra for the peace of mind of using someone we had trusted to that point. On installation day, the installers turned up with an unmarked truck (The adverts show a Synergy marked vehicle on installs), around half the guys were wearing orange T's bearing the name of Synergy, a couple of others were wearing Solargain tops (Another installation company). I asked the gentleman who was their team leader if they were Synergy or not. He stated that they work for Synergy (Not true at all, they are sub-contractors working for Synergy. Just as staff at Synergy had advised me that they have their own installers. Not at all honest)/ On the day of install, they installed a lower value inverter (Installed the Solar Edge HD Wave, not the SolarEdge 5.0 with backup). When asked about why we do not have the inverter I paid for, the installer had to check up and found out that they had brought out the wrong equipment. I was advised that it would be about a week until they could return to swap the inverter out. On the return visit, we had noticed bare TPS electrical cables hanging free inside our garage, near where the electricity meter box is outside. On pointing this out, the installers advised that most houses in Australia have full brick cavity walls in their garages, and that ours is unusual. So they must not have realised that there was not cavity when using a cable snake to get the cables through from the smart meter box they had installed (Any spark can tell you that if you push a cable snake into a hole in a brick wall, when there is no cavity, the snake would simply fall to the garage floor, not make its way up to the ceiling of the garage, and then somehow manage to smash a rectangular hole in the Hardie board ceiling material). The team leader agreed to cover that bare live TPS cable in some white cable trunking. I suggested that as I thought that it would cover the cables and be acceptable in the circumstances. The installers then installed trunking which had been cut by hand, not at all straight, the trunking was also open ended as they did not have any trunking ends caps. When I asked if they could get the end caps and tidy it up, they stated they would be back later with end caps and sort it out. Several days later it was clear they were not ever coming back. We also noticed that the installers had used our double extension ladders without our permission, and they left the ladders out the front of our home on leaving. While using the ladders they had damaged our newly professionally painted guttering and eves.

Chased up with Synergy Solar, and after explaining that I was not happy about them using sub-contractors on my job. That our property was damaged and there were electrical issues that needed to be addressed by a licensed electrician (I wonder if there was even a licensed electrician on my site during the install, as the certificate of install shows a name of a person who was not on our install). It took Synergy (Solargain) weeks to sort out the faults and paint damage. Anyway, Synergy should be open and honest that they do in fact use Solargain to quote and install systems. Synergy merely act as a middle man adding extra cost to your quote than you would pay using Soilargain directly. Even the STC assignment certificate shows that the install was made by Solargain. We have taken weeks to get to a point where Solargain contractors have eventually repainted damaged areas and corrected electrical issues that had been made by their own original installers.

Steer clear of Synergy for Solar you are not getting anything more than you would from using a fly by night solar installer company. And Synergy Solar have real problems with honesty, you can ask all the questions you like, but they do not have to reply with any truth.

Synergy works like government organisation and is very inefficient – It's a pity that unlike gas, we have only one company providing electricity in Perth. Synergy is very inefficient and wasted a lot of my time (several times in the past few years) and this company reminds me of how government organisations work. They think they're assigned by God and customers are their slaves. I'm very unhappy with the current… Read more

case I have with them and there is nothing I can do except lodging a court case if they don't fix my bill issue in the next couple of weeks. I have proof that the power meter was installed way after they started to charge me for power supply and they say this is based on western power information, but when I call them they say no (i.e. Synergy is wrong). I wish we get other retail companies join and break this monster company (like what happened to Alinta)

Solar overload – installed 6.6kw solar system in Busselton assuming what's not used goes to the Grid...because Synergy doesn't want all this backflow..it reduces the flow at their end..it in turn triggers my system to generate production in concert with the allowable uptake.. that business model includes overlooking the minimised "export kwh" by not crediting them on the bill/invoice.. not happy. Show details

Not an honest provider - beware and avoid it – We move to our new 2 bed apartment on 17 September and received the bill for 20 days of $400. We did not cook, we did not have time at home to furnish. So our apartment is empty, no dryer, no washing machine, no fridge. And the bill is $400. We called them to resolve, they bargained the bill. Finally, agreed they did incorrect calculation and… Read more

agreed the price to $66. But next day they sent us a letter with declining all the conversation, and advised they accepted for us to pay the amount by installment.

This is ridiculous and ripping off. This is unacceptable, how could a state owned company behave like this? Avoid them at all cost

If I have negative rating, I will give them.

Solar system installation unsatisfactory, caused us damage in ceiling and we don't get enough benefi – Synergy installed 16 panels in our roof advised us that we get most power of the sun from north with 4KW inverter. Their installation team caused damage to our ceiling: crack between ceilings to cornice, we took photos and sent them, and they were rejected and they refused to compensate us for the damage. We ended up paying for repair of the… Read more

damage.

At approx. 2.30pm in sun set this is the most power of the sun we don't get any benefit because there are no panels installed on the west side of the roof, only in north side, we phoned them asking for installing additional 4x panels in west side roof.

They kept telling us stories that our roof there is too small and not safe, and that it requires minimum of 6Xpanels and separate inverter of 1KW that is not existed in the market but there is 1.5KW but it is not legal to install It will pass the 5KW.

Power is not reliable.

We received a very bad customer service support and also arrogant and resistive behaviour from the technical department and management.

We were advised by other companies that Synergy could split the system to north and west sides to archive more benefits for us.

when they did the quote we were advised that 4kw is enough and we should keep the air-conditioning system on auto for low power, but now we can see the difference and we are very hurt and heart broken and we believe we have been misled.

Is Synergy a sponsor of this site we have had nothing but problems since Synergy became involved with our power.

Is this enough information for a post on this site?

Also I have not used language or derogatory remarks in this post I have just listed the facts that we have all the required authorised account codes provided by SYNERGY and have given the data to SYNERGY and still they can't manage to get it right.
