Taubmans Endure

I have used other brands such as Resene, Haynes, British paints and they are all much better than this Taubmans low sheen endure garbage. It shows all roller marks unlike other brands I have used. Sorry Taubmans until you improve your product I am going back to Haynes. Show details
Absolutely pathetic, 4 coats to cover walls and having said that the wall was like colour and we were painting light colour. Half way through the house decided to try Dulux and what a game changer, Dulux almost covered in 1 coat. I can't believe Taubmans sell paint like water. Don't be fooled by the slightly cheaper price Show details
I purchased numerous 15L cans of Taubmans Endure Matt for the inside of my house. From the moment I started applying it, it seemed like I was applying water. It took three coats in many areas to cover the walls however, in certain areas, it took an additional coat. (Note that the original walls were painted in a very light cream colour). This is… Read more
entirely unacceptable for a purpoted premium quality paint.
Ten years ago, I gave the walls a single coat with British Paints Interior Matt. I understand that many things change in ten years, but that paint was far superior than Taubmans Endure. The paint was easy to apply, left little odour and covered everything as it stated it would.
Note that in reading many of the responses in various reviews, Taubmans default response is that they are sorry to hear of the issue and to call their customer service team. Call their customer service team for what exactly? So that they can provide me with a plethora of excuses as to why their paint is the way it is? Or, more than likely, that they can't provide a refund. I certainly have no expectations that they would even suggest that they would pay for repainting the entire house....
I would discourage anyone from buying this paint. It is not a premium paint. Its most defining feature is that it easily washes away in water, yet doesn't paint walls adequately.

We engaged a team of professional painters to paint our entire house (indoors) last year. This was the first time that our house had been painted since we built 14 years ago. The painting team used a Taubmans Pure Performance product (which I couldn't specifically find this product to review). Initially it looked great, although after just 1 month… Read more
any wall which was subject to any kind of moisture appeared to show a residue which was sticky to touch. The painters asked a Taubmans representative to look at the result and he cut a sample off the wall to send to the lab for testing. After 9 weeks and a follow up call, we were advised that their results showed that the product used was manufactured according to their specifications. The rep advised that the issue was created by poor ventilation. Despite some frustration at this result, we actively sought to fix the issue by way of adding security screens to allow us to confidently leave windows open, added more powerful exhaust fans and even replaced our clothes dryer to modern technology. Our original painters then returned to repair/paint the impacted areas. Again, despite the new measures the moisture residue was apparent within weeks. Upon contacting the Taubmans representative I was advised that there was nothing wrong with the product it was a case of poor ventialtion and nothing more could be done on his part. I asked if this was the case, why we hadn't experienced a similar issue in the 14 years prior with the original Dulux product, and I was advised that it was our problem to deal with. It is disappointing this issue has occurred as the remainder of the house looks good and meets our expectations.

Super disappointed in the quality – I'm painting my apartment with Taubmans Endure (reccomended at Bunnings) and I'm about half way done. This paint is so thin!!! I am using cotton white, forest magic and midnight hour. So a light and 2 dark colours. The dark colours take 4 coats and I can still see some lighter patches and the white with 2-3 coats does the same (deciding now if I… Read more
need to do more or it can pass). It is really notable where the cutting-in is overlapped by the roller and so has more coats by default. The only think I can think is that they have thinned out the paint so much that the coats required for an even application is double, if not, a lot more than what the tin says. If I had not been doing this over a long period of time and with 3 different colours and hues I could have excused a funny batch but with 3 colours purchased at different time it seems consistently poor. I recommend spending a little more on another brand and saving money and time in the long run if you can. Also the dark colours when wiped down (definitely after 7 days) there is a bit of colour transfer on the cloth. This has me a little worried for transfer onto objects or clothing when walking past.

Great paint – I used this on the inside and taubmans all weather on the outside. I could not be happier with the products I am not a painter however I have done a few jobs. I used about 90L on both jobs it was a big job. I almost did not buy it because of the negative reviews but I tried a sample pot. Show details · 1
Very happy – I used Endure low sheen for my ceilings and couldn't be happier. Great coverage, no streaks. Show details · 1
Taubmans for the win in the Tropics – Easy to apply, great coverage, excellent value. Very happy with DIY result of semi gloss in white 'cotton ball' and feature walls in 'Hoya' for new (old) home that had three different wall surface textures. Bessa block, plaster board & rendered. Went on well using 12mm foam roller on all surfaces + brush for cutting in. 2 coats over pre-painted… Read more · 1
and cleaned walls. Painted during summer in FNQ with a/c and fans on, no issue with dry time. Taubmans is Great. Do Not try to use Dulux wash and wear in the tropics - in my experience it is rubbish! dries too fast gives terrible gritty finish, waste of time and money. (used it on unit)

Surprised on reviews – I'm surprised to see bad reviews on this product. I found it the best I've used over a few brands and types. Maybe there was a bad batch of paint or trolling reviews by competitors. I will use this again. Show details · 1
I love Endure – I have used Taubmans Endure many times before. I have just completed painting my kitchen and dining walls white, two coats, and found it easy to roll with no streaks. I cannot understand the bad reviews. I am wondering if people aren't letting it dry, panic and try rolling it again and causing streaks. Dried within the specified time and can spot… Read more · 1
clean it without any marks. Painted my kitchen and dining ceiling with Taubmans Low Sheen Water Based Enamel and, surprisingly, it looks great. Now I will be able to scrub my ceiling clean. I hate flat paint. Thanks Taubmans!
Brilliant paint works great! – One coat covered well no more coats required works perfect loved it will use again paint dried quickly no streaks lines or marks at all would recommend top quality just amazing Show details · 1

3 coats and patch still showing – Our builder, Masterton Homes, used this paint on our house, they did 3 coats and yet you can still see a patch under the paint. I'm no painter but I've never seen a paint so poor as to not even cover a patch with 3 coats.

Paint so bad I'll be seeking a refund – Do not waste your money and time with this paint. I've painted this house a few times over the years. Even with perfect conditions and prep. it still took 5 coats to make the coverage acceptable. Thin paint that dries fast and gets terrible coverage. Is not colour fast or water resistant. A week later and a light splash of water dissolves the… Read more
paint and makes the colour run. Unsuitable for putting a bed against because the colour rubs off. Got matt because I wanted matt, but the finish is more like a low sheen. Now I have to paint the whole wall again. I will be using Dulux to do so.

Went mouldy in less than a year – Horrible paint. Painted my bathroom with wet area paint and it went mouldy. Tried complaining and they said that was normal in wet areas. Apparently for Taubman's it is. Show details

Absolutely terrible and waste of time – I've just done the third application and the finish is shocking. I've painted houses for years and this takes the cake as being the worst paint I've come across. Do not waste your time and money like I did. Show details

Patchy finish – I found the finish on this product awful. I have painted many interior walls in my time, but this simply is the worst I've ever had (even the Aldi brand paint had a better finish in an old rental) I find it dries too fast so the overlap with a roller leaves a matt and low sheen finish. Will be going to either Haymes or Dulux. Show details

Not 'premium' at all, 3 coats needed – [Applies to Accent base variant:] We are experienced DIY painters and as per others' experience two coats was patchy as, having to do a third coat a) means way more time, effort and stress and b) way more paint required (which wasn't accounted for in the planning as two coats should be sufficient). Also as noted by another reviewer, this is not… Read more
'matt' (which we selected specifically as we wanted a totally flat paint), but rather low sheen in matt clothing. All the effort by Taubmans seems to have gone into the paint tin design and marketing rather than the product - definitely not a premium product. Would not use again and would not recommend.
*Update: To be fair in my reviewing I've come back to update my initial review after additional information has come to hand. I had purchased three colours of Taubmans Endure Matt paint at the one time (it seemed the best value for 1 and 2 litre quantities and I wanted matt) - my initial review was posted after using the first tin at random, which was a darker colour tinted from an Accent base, and that review still stands - with the added proviso that it's specifically for the Accent base (I had no idea there'd be differences between the different variants initially so I didn't specify that then). One of my other colours was tinted off a White base, and it performed totally differently - it was good! You wouldn't know it was the same paint at all. Two coats (could almost have gotten away with one), good coverage, and I'd even call it matt. So it depends on which base you've used (which would explain the very mixed reviews) - the White is fine and performs well/as expected, and it's the Accent that has issues (to back up my initial impression, my third tin was also Accent and also bad to use). I won't change my rating though, because the paint didn't perform as promised (it shouldn't vary by base type), and overall I'd still be reluctant to buy this again, given the chance that my White base tin was a fluke - so much time and effort goes into painting that I'd rather not risk it to save a few dollars next time, and would buy something more reliable (premium Dulux is fine, although I don't ever love it when I use it; Wattyl ID was my standout favourite, but not so easy to get these days as its no longer sold at Bunnings).

Stay away, waste of time – Bought 2 10litre tins Taubmans Endure White Low Sheen and Accent Matt. Used the matt to paint a ceiling with the poorest results I have ever had from a paint. Streaky and patchy finish, almost transparent in places. I did not thin the paint, applied with new rollers. Both tins were bought from Renovator Auctions in December, used the paint in… Read more
January. I wont even bother applying a second coat, it is just a waste of time and money. Back to Dulux for me. Used Dulux for 40 yrs and should never have stopped. Now to get rid of the paint that is left.

DO NOT USE complete waste of time unless you like streaks – I wish I'd read these reviews before I used this paint. I normally use Dulux and never an issue. With this one, after 5 coats (yes, 5) I still have streaks and a terrible looking finish. Tried a different roller, I did some, my husband did some, the only variable we can now point to is the paint. Am so frustrated with the time and money wasted (not cheap by any means). I am going to email Taubmans to get my money back at the very least. Show details

Poor finish and streaky. Even after 4 coats. So very frustrated – Painting lounge and hall. The finish is extremely disappointing. I usually only use Dulux wash n wear and have never had this problem. I should have stuck with what I knew. After 10 litres and 4 coats we are thinking of just starting again. Show details

Terrible Experience – I was trying to decide if it would be better to use Dulux Wash & Wear or Taubmans Endure Paint. I read the reviews on this website and saw that the reviews were not very good and that the paint was very streaky. I then went to Bunnings to buy the paint and asked the paint counter person which paint they recommended. I was advised to use… Read more
Taubmans Endure. I said that the reviews are not great and they the complaint is that the paint is streaky and it will possibly take more that 2 coats to get a decent finish. I thought that I would give the Taubmans Endure a go and see the results for myself.
I painted one large wall in a bedroom with the Endure. The finish was very streaky and I ended up painting 4 coats on the wall, to get a semi reasonable result. I used up 90% of the 4 litre tin, just on the one wall due to the number of coats painted.
I'm very disappointed with the Endure paint as you should not need to paint 4 coats just to get all the streaks out and end up with an acceptable result..
Lessons learnt: 1) Trust reviews from other people as this will save you time and frustration. 2) Use Dulux for the next project

Disappointing finish – Very dissatisfied with the finish of “Endure” needed 4 coats to get some sort of even looking coverage. Still looks streaky. Never ever had this problem with Dulux which only needed 2 coats & a lot easier to apply with a much even looking finish. Used on interior walls. Show details

Taubmans Endure MATT is by far the worst poaint I have Used – The patchiest paint by far, painted over taubmans 3 in 1 primer and it is so patchy. Expecting the second coat wont do much difference going of the very sad reviews I have been reading. I would like a refund, being on a carers pension its not easy to coff up 80 add dollars for something so inferior. Show details

Water based semi gloss is just that water, shocking – Have been using the Taubmans Professional range for the first time. Have found the Undercoat, Ceiling Paint and Interior Broadwall excellent. This is not perfect; I can live without it – I repainted a 7x7 metre room with Taubmans Endure Low Sheen after sanding the walls to within an inch of their life; undercoated etc. Paint dried fairly quickly and provided good coverage. question and find fault with my technique and experience; forty years experience with various paints and surfaces. I want my money back - expensive crap product that does not meet the hype and expectation. Paint purchased at bunnings.
I tried to ring Taubmans customer help center, I found it Impossible to get to speak to anyone at Taubmans by calling 131 number - either all your customers are waiting to complain about products or Taubmans have allocated so few staff - I suspect it is a mix of both due to the time I waited with the recorded voice announcement bullshitting me about your products - all our consultants are attending other calls - if you would like to leave a voice message dial 1- if you would like to return to the main menu dial 0 - or you may end the call by hanging up.
**** Obviously this is what Taubmans hopes callers will do, so Taubmans will not have to deal with disgruntled and crap off customers**** I gave the product two stars for coverage, drying time etc; hope I have not been over generous. My conclusions and results mirror many others reviews.

Streaks and lines everywhere – Glad I found this pages as I though I was going mad, painting and re-painting the same wall to try and get rid if streaks and lines. Worst paint I have ever used. I’ve gone through 4l on basically one wall and now I’ve run out, which is not such an easy problem to solve during a lockdown. Like other one star reviewers, I was painting during hot weather. Great paint but the cans develop rust holes – I have been a Taubmans Endure fan for some time and generally, it is my go-to paint. Just lately I have found that the tins rust from the inside below the paint level and of course they then leak. A couple have been in the bottom and the last one is in the side. Not a real good recommendation when sitting on the same shelf are "cheap" brand paints… Read more
of twice and three times the age where the cans remain in good nick. The last Taubmans can to leak is less than two years old and half full. Not limited to the 4 lt can either as the last one is a 2 lt tin. Please - Taubmans spend a couple of extra cents and give us cans that last the distance. Your paint is not cheap and I would like to think I can keep the remainder in the same tin I brought it in.

Awful – We have been painting for many years, and have never had any problem. Bought 4L of the Taubmans Endure Interior Paint. So far, three coats, and still patchy. Have used good quality brushes and rollers, and even changed the type of roller three times to make sure it was not the type of roller. The 4L only fiished one room. Not happy!!!
