I purchased numerous 15L cans of Taubmans Endure Matt for the inside of my house. From the moment I started applying it, it seemed like I was applying water. It took three coats in many areas to cover the walls however, in certain areas, it took an additional coat. (Note that the original walls were painted in a very light cream colour). This is… Read more
entirely unacceptable for a purpoted premium quality paint.
Ten years ago, I gave the walls a single coat with British Paints Interior Matt. I understand that many things change in ten years, but that paint was far superior than Taubmans Endure. The paint was easy to apply, left little odour and covered everything as it stated it would.
Note that in reading many of the responses in various reviews, Taubmans default response is that they are sorry to hear of the issue and to call their customer service team. Call their customer service team for what exactly? So that they can provide me with a plethora of excuses as to why their paint is the way it is? Or, more than likely, that they can't provide a refund. I certainly have no expectations that they would even suggest that they would pay for repainting the entire house....
I would discourage anyone from buying this paint. It is not a premium paint. Its most defining feature is that it easily washes away in water, yet doesn't paint walls adequately.
Super disappointed in the quality – I'm painting my apartment with Taubmans Endure (reccomended at Bunnings) and I'm about half way done. This paint is so thin!!! I am using cotton white, forest magic and midnight hour. So a light and 2 dark colours. The dark colours take 4 coats and I can still see some lighter patches and the white with 2-3 coats does the same (deciding now if I… Read more
need to do more or it can pass). It is really notable where the cutting-in is overlapped by the roller and so has more coats by default. The only think I can think is that they have thinned out the paint so much that the coats required for an even application is double, if not, a lot more than what the tin says. If I had not been doing this over a long period of time and with 3 different colours and hues I could have excused a funny batch but with 3 colours purchased at different time it seems consistently poor. I recommend spending a little more on another brand and saving money and time in the long run if you can. Also the dark colours when wiped down (definitely after 7 days) there is a bit of colour transfer on the cloth. This has me a little worried for transfer onto objects or clothing when walking past.

Paint so bad I'll be seeking a refund – Do not waste your money and time with this paint. I've painted this house a few times over the years. Even with perfect conditions and prep. it still took 5 coats to make the coverage acceptable. Thin paint that dries fast and gets terrible coverage. Is not colour fast or water resistant. A week later and a light splash of water dissolves the… Read more
paint and makes the colour run. Unsuitable for putting a bed against because the colour rubs off. Got matt because I wanted matt, but the finish is more like a low sheen. Now I have to paint the whole wall again. I will be using Dulux to do so.

Went mouldy in less than a year – Horrible paint. Painted my bathroom with wet area paint and it went mouldy. Tried complaining and they said that was normal in wet areas. Apparently for Taubman's it is. Show details

Not 'premium' at all, 3 coats needed – [Applies to Accent base variant:] We are experienced DIY painters and as per others' experience two coats was patchy as, having to do a third coat a) means way more time, effort and stress and b) way more paint required (which wasn't accounted for in the planning as two coats should be sufficient). Also as noted by another reviewer, this is not… Read more
'matt' (which we selected specifically as we wanted a totally flat paint), but rather low sheen in matt clothing. All the effort by Taubmans seems to have gone into the paint tin design and marketing rather than the product - definitely not a premium product. Would not use again and would not recommend.
*Update: To be fair in my reviewing I've come back to update my initial review after additional information has come to hand. I had purchased three colours of Taubmans Endure Matt paint at the one time (it seemed the best value for 1 and 2 litre quantities and I wanted matt) - my initial review was posted after using the first tin at random, which was a darker colour tinted from an Accent base, and that review still stands - with the added proviso that it's specifically for the Accent base (I had no idea there'd be differences between the different variants initially so I didn't specify that then). One of my other colours was tinted off a White base, and it performed totally differently - it was good! You wouldn't know it was the same paint at all. Two coats (could almost have gotten away with one), good coverage, and I'd even call it matt. So it depends on which base you've used (which would explain the very mixed reviews) - the White is fine and performs well/as expected, and it's the Accent that has issues (to back up my initial impression, my third tin was also Accent and also bad to use). I won't change my rating though, because the paint didn't perform as promised (it shouldn't vary by base type), and overall I'd still be reluctant to buy this again, given the chance that my White base tin was a fluke - so much time and effort goes into painting that I'd rather not risk it to save a few dollars next time, and would buy something more reliable (premium Dulux is fine, although I don't ever love it when I use it; Wattyl ID was my standout favourite, but not so easy to get these days as its no longer sold at Bunnings).

Taubmans Endure MATT is by far the worst poaint I have Used – The patchiest paint by far, painted over taubmans 3 in 1 primer and it is so patchy. Expecting the second coat wont do much difference going of the very sad reviews I have been reading. I would like a refund, being on a carers pension its not easy to coff up 80 add dollars for something so inferior. Show details

Awful – We have been painting for many years, and have never had any problem. Bought 4L of the Taubmans Endure Interior Paint. So far, three coats, and still patchy. Have used good quality brushes and rollers, and even changed the type of roller three times to make sure it was not the type of roller. The 4L only fiished one room. Not happy!!! Worst paint we have ever used. Show details

Perfect paint – This paint is amazing, easy to spread, coverage is excellent, low odor and quick drying, but not too quick as to cause trouble, compared to other paints I would say its up there with Dulux and the rest if not better in some aspects. Cant see what the fuss is about. Show details · 1
Stinks like gas and cat's pee – WARNING: Don't use if going into social-isolation, in lockdown during pandemic, in children's rooms or ever really. This paint dries quickly but continues to reek for weeks ;it smells like a cross between gas and cat's pee. Worse when the room heats up. When I complained after at least 2 weeks of foul smell , Taubmans gave same response I've read… Read more
on this site about 'ghost odour' (from 2018) and wanted details of 'all the steps you've followed in relation to pre-painting surface preparation and product application' and proof of purchase. I've successfully painted many houses over the years and never had this problem before. The paint went over a previously painted ceiling in a modern flat. Label has no warning of how long and how much it stinks - actually says its 'asthma and allergy friendly'. Bought it at Bunnings and there was no warning on shelves near it and no-one cautioned me about the possible smell. This same reeking stench lingering for weeks also happened when I used Taubmans (flat)pink to white ceiling paint because the Endure still stank. Painted in late February and still can't use either bedroom.
Don't bother – It's low sheen and not matt. It's thin and doesn't cover. I'm covering a pale blue and wanting it to be white so I've done two coats of primer and two coats of Endure and you can still see the blue through it. Waste of time and money. Show details
Fantastic – It is matt and can still wipe clean, unlike a flat finish. Very happy with the way the paint went on the wall. Made job easy and finish is perfect. Show details
Great paint – Easy to use, hides imperfections brilliantly, expensive but worth every cent. We painted a whole 3 bedroom house with it. House was old with lots of cracks that had to be fixed. You can't see any of them now. I will certainly use this paint again. Matt finish worked well. Also used the low sheen in the bathroom. Very good as well. Show details

Matt finish is low sheen – Paid for matt finish to paint one wall in a black room but it is low sheen. It has a definite shine under night lights and stands out. Very disappointed and won’t waste my money again, it’s just not worth it, buy premium top quality brands only. You will get better coverage and save money in the end. Show details
Great after a year – Last year I painted the eves, went on smooth and spread out nicely with the roller, didn't drip at all. Still looks great, and have brought another can for the back eves and will be buying 4lt soon to be tinted brown for another outside job. Just wish it kept the rotten spiders from making their webs on it, then again, even the spiders tell me it's great. Show details
Taubmans Endure Matt not MATT! – Taubmans Endure Matt was easy to use, went on shiney black, This matt paint dryed to a low sheen finish. not matt as stated on the tin. The tech help guy too me it had 5% sheen in it. That's not matt. That was a waste of my $80. I was not happy. Show details
Looks great but not very durable – I had my home professionally painted in Taubmans Endure Matt but unfortunately it is not very durable. Although the overall finish looks great even if you rub up against the walls they mark. I was told the paint was washable but you are not able to scrub it. After conducting my own patch test I found it is not at all washable as it leaves marks. The overall finish Not durable and expensive
