TCL X2 Series Questions & Answers
VerifiedHow does it show SD videos?
My TCL 65x2us had an automated update and has been playing up ever since now it is stuck in the start up loop and won't turn on . I can't find the external reset button or any information on where it might be. I am very disappointed it was fine before the update. I have turned it if and disconnected the power cord and left it for 2 hours still doing the same thing was just about to buy another on for the other room too but now need to re think
Has anybody purchased the TCL 65" X4US UHD Android tv ? Have you found any issues with it as I am thinking of
purchasing from JB HiFi . I reckon for 2k you can't go wrong.
What about X3 model? does x3cus support dolby vision?
Can someone provide a detailed calibration for 55 X2 as PQ on mine is not popping. Movie picture mode as suggested is underwhelming and picture whilst quite bright is not as sharp as Sony mid level LCD HD 65 inch with some soap box effect. Require critical settings to get picture only for FTA in bright room during the day and dark at night. Facial tones are ok but for QLED not spectacular.
Hi! Did you solve your picture problems? I haver the same dilemma, and I cannot find a proper calibration as well. the Darko calibration (Poland) is bad for my tv, have you found another?
No. Picture setting of Movie is poor as is Warm. I've played around but still get a slightly milky background and medium contrast/sharpness. Surely someone who has a great picture can assist at the qled is not a patch on my Sony full HD 65 inch mid range 2016 straight out of the box.
The Tcl default settings are woeful.
1/10/18.
For those buyers who are wrapped in the picture quality, I would highly appreciate some help in calibrating my set as it has an average picture even after numerous adjustments. Even the basic settings would be helpful.
I find Movie picture setting very washed out and there is some background "blur" which can not be removed by adjusting contrast, saturation, tint etc.
PLEASE HELP GUYS.
Few questions, if someone can help. Planning to buy the 65X2US:
1. No. of HDMI ports and are they all HDMI 2.0?
2. Does it come with 2 remotes or just 1?
3. With PS4 Pro console, does it support 4k@60Hz?
4. Has anyone tried connecting the TV to a laptop and check if it supports 4K@60Hz? Planning to buy this for graphic designing and for conferences/meetings, etc.
5. Has anyone updated Android TV to 7.0? Is it good?
Any help would be appreciated.
How does this TV compare against LGs OLED? LG is definitely the best TV I have seen but there is nowhere for me to see the X2
You can't beat LG OLED's picture quality at all - it's the best. But the picture quality on this X2 is not bad either, pretty good for regular use and on par with Samsung QLED. You might need to calibrate the display settings (the out of the box settings are complete crap!) - plenty of YouTube videos out there.
The tcl xess x2 does support dolby vision??
None of TCLs current models support Dolby Vision.
The answer given previously is incorrect. The X2 and X3 TCL's most definitely support Dolby Vision with the lastest HDR content. Refer to below article for confirmation, not to mention I own the TCL X2 65, and I know it supports Dolby Vision!

Sorry Shane, but the answer is it doesn't. TCL are only supporting Dolby Vision in the US at this point in time which is where the main market and technology is at the moment. Europe and Australasia are only working with HDR 10 and HLG at this point in time. For a full review from a TCL rep go here - external link
This certainly doesn't support Dolby Vision - kind of a shame given the other features this TV has. However, the C2 series does support it.
Is this a QLED TV? Does it come with Foxtel Play?
Yes its QLED, most beautiful screen I have ever seen, better than even OLED. It does not have foxtel play built in, however foxtel play is can be streamed via chromecast. Given the X2 has inbuilt chromecast, I would say yes, foxtel play is compatible but tot built in as a feature.
