Good morning, Owen Thank you for your enquiry. You would need to have a service technician assess the fault. If the oven is still working on a different mode it might not be the selector switch. If you can please provide your email address and postcode so I can assist you further. Kind regards Sharron

Hi, my oven has power and light but is not heating up? Is this only the heating element or could it also be a timer? All knobs are in the required place

Hi Brooke, thank you for your question and I'm sorry to hear of this. Based on what you have described if the time is set it could be the element that has stopped working. Thanks

Where did you get it from and was it easy to install?

Hi, my oven and gas cook top appear to have no power. The isolation switches in the fuse box have not tripped. Any suggestions how to fix it would be much appreciated.

Joe

Ours did the same thing. It turned out to be the fuse in the timer knob had burnt out and fused the whole stove.

I have taken off the knobs to clean behind them, but now they won't go on tightly. Can you tell me if the spring goes before or after the round 'plate'

Technika

Hi Gardener, Thank you for your question. The spring goes between the knob and round plate. Thanks

Two burners (one large and one small) are not working. Remaining are working. What should be the issue?

All of a sudden I've not got no operation from the oven - not even the lights will come on. Worked fine on Saturday when I last used it, but as of today, nothing.

Electrical connection is fine, nothing's tripped at the fuse board, and the gas burners are fine, it's just the oven/grill - no combination of functions or temperatures (other than off!) seems to work, either in manual or timer mode. Any ideas?

Hi, I have a similar problem and have just opened my oven up. Timer has burnt out and I am ordering a new one from bigwarehouse spares for $60. Nothing will work on oven side if timer fails... 2 months ago I had to replace the selector switch which had aslo burnt out.

Real crappy stoves these, luckily I do my own maintenance saving me $100's.

Thanks Tim, great suggestion I'll take a look - I'm not afraid of having a look inside appliances, I've replaced elements and the like before, so worth a look before I end up $1,500 in the hole for a new oven. Never been a fan of the brand, but it's what was installed when we bought the place, so hey ho. I won't buy the same brand if we do have to replace it!

The lowest setting on all the gas burners is too high. I can’t reduce the temperature on anything below boiling.

I heard cooking with gas was great because you have so much control. I hate it - there is not enough control if I can’t reduce below a boil. Everything will burn!

Help please

Is there such a thing as a heat defused that I can put between the gas and my pot?

Maybe check your fuse box and make sure you havent tripped a safty switch

Glenn
Glenn · B9GEFTSS

Oven isnt working but light is dim on selector but turns off after you put degrees on, btw that is with timer on too, all wiring looks good is thete a fuse anywhere? Thanks.

Big Mick
Big Mick

The only fuse that i know about is your main fuse for the house but if a fuse were to trip it would not work at all. The element essentially is like a fuse because when that fails it doesnt compleate the circuit and therefore the heating part of oven wont work.

When the element went on our one the light lit up but the oven didnt get hot so thats what your one might be doing unfortunately sound like you might need to get a technician out to check.

Thanks mate, i think i'll just buy another oven, parts are pricey, i think ill cut my losses and get another one, thanks again, and if anyone in sydney needs parts for theirs they are welcome to have! Over next couple of weeks.

Oven element is good measurers 20ohms...All wiring looks good but element will not heat up when on bake???? Do I need to set the selector switch before setting a temperature????

Andrew
Andrew

Yes you need to select a setting ie grill or fan forced oven. Then select temperature. Also turn dial on for timer.

Maud
Maud

Yes - selector first then temperature. According to the mechanic the regulator cannot cope with the voltage surge of turning on the temperature (if you do temp first and then the selector). Eventually the oven will stop working.

Our technica B9geftss-3 freestanding oven won't heat above (roughly)60 degrees Celsius. We purchased oven 18 months ago, wondering what the issue maybe?

Maud
Maud

I'm not sure. sometimes it is the sequence with which you switch the oven on. For us we had to switch on the right button first and then the left (temp) otherwise the oven would stop working entirely. When switching off, we had to switch temp off first and then the oven setting, We also had occasions where we had to start the oven on the fan setting to get it to heat up, after which we could change the settings (of course, first turn temp off and then switch oven setting and then turn temp on again)

Hi,I can not turn on the oven, what could be the problem?

Maud
Maud

We were told by the repair technician from Technika that you are only allowed to first turn the "oven" knob (eg fan, heating elements, grill etc), before you can turn the temperature on. IF you turn the temperature on before you chose the cooking style, the oven breaks.... (something to do with sparks) and you need to call somebody in to fix it. However, our oven broke down again and again even though we followed this procedure. We did at times have luck by starting the oven on the grill or fan setting, and the maximum temperature. That seemed to kickstart the oven function again, after which we could lower the temperature (but not the cooking type setting).
