Nice and cold no worries @ Aussie – Hey there icy cold low power consumption, however it says 22 on remote it's difficult to work out whether the outside unit is jumping on or off so I'm curious as to whether the temp sensor is working or not, afraid of a high electric bill but otherwise this little unit is great for single bed rooms.
Pleasant Surprise – I was against getting this unit and it wasn't my decision, but it's turned out to be great. The landlord ordered a different brand, but the installers damaged it and this was the only one available. I wanted anything *except* TECO as I'd been told they were noisy and unreliable, but this unit has earned my respect. It was the cheapest by far so I didn't expect much, but it's been 100%.
It's almost silent and hasn't had a single problem in 2 years, so both my reasons against were wrong! However, it seems to measure room temp oddly, when it's 20 degrees where I sit the unit thinks it's about 26, so it's always working hard unless you set the temp a lot higher. That wastes power. But that's probably because it's mounted high up where the air is warmer, not its fault. I wish it had a temperature sensor in the remote, but this cheap unit doesn't have that.
It's never made a funny noise or gone wrong in any way, and it gets plenty of use. It's probably a little small for my flat so it has to work harder but there's never been a problem. In my small flat heating in winter is easier than cooling in summer. It's an excellent heater. As a simple fan it's not much use except for just circulation. For a cheap unit the basic features are fine (fan speeds, temp range, on/off timer). I don't use the humidity. The vents only swing up/down not left/right, but you can fix them left & right by hand.
For a cheapie that I didn't even want it's been great! Better than I'd hoped. I DON'T recommend the supplier we used OR their installers! Perfectly reliable, very quiet, has to work hard but handles it fine. Pretty good on power. Great value. Temp sensor reads wrong, needs an external sensor too.
Very Happy – I had this air con installed almost 3 years ago and it was used extensively by my daughter, day and night in the summer, and for heating in the winter. I had never bought the Teco brand before, but the electrician recommended it, and it had a 5 year warranty. It developed a fault recently and I was delighted with the Teco service, arranging for it to be fixed promptly, supplying a new controller board and ringing me to check that all was well before, during and after the repair. I have had poor repair service under warranty from other companies, declaring rust is the problem, as I live near the beach, as do most Australians. works well
