Tetley Tea Cup

Typical multi national chasing more profit and giving you less. From the start of the experience the paper only box with (now with no cellophane) is crap to open, then the tea bags do NOT have a strong flavor, despite purchasing "Extra Strong" and the box saying 'FULL STRENGTH' yeah right? NOT!!!! Sick of it so time to find a decent tea bag at a reasonable price.

Decafe is Delicious – As someone who lives in a household with someone else who needs decafe products, I can tell you that Tetley Decafe is great. I'd consider myself somewhat of a tea expert and I find the decafe options to be very pleasant. I've tried the decafe out on many guests and not a single one would think they've got anything different. Well done Tetley for catering to everyone. Give it a go.

to work out around 20% cheaper, requiring a 1/5th number of sachets to equal the same strength.

as I said before, are Tetley's going to do anything about their box for the tea pot bags. !!! as in the way they say to open, it dosent work, it tears all in the wrong places

kettle - to no avail- so did again - to no avail. Changed kettles- to no avail so convinced it must be either my taste buds or the water. A few days ago when preparing to make a cup of tea I smelled the tea in my tea caddy. I was horrified, it absolutely stank. I checked the other half of the box & the same foul stench. I read the Review from Tetley’s in response to another Reviewer (date not recorded) where they were addressing decrease in size of teabags & stressed they did not want to change “to a cheaper tea & their expert taste testers in the UK had agreed changing to a smaller bag had no impact on taste, flavour or intensity”. There is no way something has not changed, it is either the tea, the bag or in the preparation. This is my second review in a couple of days, the quality of strawberry jam I have been buying for years has deteriorated to the point I will no longer buy & now Tetley’s. How many more of the once trusted brands will lose their faithful customers?

Not pleasant – For the first time, I purchased, by mistake, tea cup t/bags. I have used all rounders for some time, and enjoyed the taste. The taste of my first cup of tetly teacup was so bad I sent it down the sink. I will dispose of the remaining teabags. Show details

Tastes different – All I can say is the last couple of packets of Tetley tea tastes like dish water, nothing like how it used to taste. This is one customer who will be purchasing elsewhere from now on

Complete let-down – I have been a Tetley consumer nearly my entire adult life. Purchased a box shortly before Christmas as the 1100-count bag I purchased 2 years ago had finally run out. Just for reference, I prefer my tea without sugar, cream or milk, so to have lost the first joyful sip and aroma has caused me to seek my tea elsewhere. Shame on you, Tetley. Generations have grown up enjoying your brand. Looks like one more thing lost to inflation and companies cutting back.

Disappointed – I have enjoyed Tetley tea for at least two decades. Always used medium strength, but now even the extra strong is not strong enough have increased from 10 to 50 jiggles plus leaving to steep for up to 5 minutes to try and get the good taste back.

What have they done ?? – Searched the tea aisle for my usual Tetley extra strong blend and initially thought that it was out of stock. Finally found it after realising that the packaging had changed. After making my first cuppa I realised that was not all that had changed! Now after a few more cups have come to the conclusion that it's not my taste buds this "new" Tetleys is weak and in my opinion undrinkable. Bye Tetleys. yes, tastes like bitter hot water. I will be switching brands as this product is garbage. I can't believe they would do this, I mean, just charge us more but still give us a quality product but no, profit comes first. I don't know how Tetley thinks this strategy will work. It is surprising to me that they think we wouldn't notice. The worst part is the awful after taste of this stuff. The fact that I would take the time to write a review says it all.

Its now happening in Canada – They have now adulterated the product here in Canada (Oct 2022). Tea is almost tasteless and has an unpleasant aroma in its dry state. Also noticed that the packaging is altered to include instructions as to how to make a mug of tea. User is now instructed to steep teabag in mug for 3 to 4 minutes. Indicative of of inferior tea leaves. Proudly brought to us in Canada by TATA Consumer Products!

What has happened to Tetley tea – I have just thrown away over 200 Tetley tea bags always been a Tetley drinker but it is now undrinkable goes dark muddy brown instantly leaves a residue on the side of the cup and tastes extremely bitter I will never buy again what on earth has happened to it Show details

Tetley's went down the toilet starting around 2020 – Tetley's has been my only black tea for years. But around 2020, something changed. It is FLAVOURLESS. No matter how many bags, even three per mug, there's no way I can get that pleasant black, bitter tea flavour. In fact it's still near flavourless. Show details

Have switched to another tea – Sadly after years of buying and enjoying Tetley Tea we have switched to another brand. The last two boxes, one of Orange Pekoe and one of the Tetley Bold, had very little flavour and were not enjoyable the way a cup of Tetley used to be. Tetleys – I've drank tetleys for years since my granny fetched us up drinking it these past few months I've noticed a marked decrease in quality I didn't realise it was the teabags at first I thought water but no it's the teabags an I've now bought my last batch. factory overheads) has increased 32%. We’ve absorbed these costs as much as we could without increasing our price to you, but finally came to the point where we had to make an adjustment. However, we did not want to change to a cheaper blend of teas, as this would significantly affect the taste. Instead, we tested a lower bag weight, which our expert tea tasters in the UK reviewed and agreed that making this small change in bag weight had no impact on the taste, flavour or intensity of our Extra Strong tea.
