This is one branded item I would recommend purely for its functional capacity. Three years of travelling around the world and the backpack I have is still my faithful and reliable companion. Worth the brand cost.

On a recent trip to New York I found myself in need of a new pair of water proof shoes to walk in. I ended up in the north face store 5th ave. They had very limited variety and even more limited sizes so ended up trying on a pair of Berkeley boots. They felt ok and I thought they would soften up as they were worn. These are honestly the most… Read more

uncomfortable pair of shoes I have ever had on my feet. At the end of the second day of wearing them I was nearly crippled. The soles are as hard as rocks and there is no arch support at all. the top lace hole is so close to the top of the tongue that the lace slips over the top and cuts into my ankle. They also do not breathe at all , they may be water proof but at the end of the day my feet were soaked from sweat! They are truly awful. I returned to the store with my receipt to ask if they could help me. they were simply not interested. They said because I had worn them there was nothing they would do. No willingness to even listen let alone replace or exchange for something else. I explained the issues and that I could not tell how much they hurt until I had worn them but it fell on deaf ears. Truly awful customer service and I would not recommend them to anyone. Wish I could give a rating lower than 1 star for their product and their service!

I bought a North Face Stretch Down Hoody in June 2022 directly from The North Face Australia for around $500. Less than three years later, both the chest logo and the “700” sleeve print started peeling off — despite careful washing, cold cycle only, and always air-drying. For a premium jacket at this price point, I expect durability. Cheaper… Read more

jackets I own have lasted far longer without visible failure.

What’s most disappointing is the customer service. The North Face promotes a “Limited Lifetime Warranty” that “covers defects in materials and workmanship for the practical lifetime of the product.” They also claim their gear is built for “a lifetime of exploration.” These words create the expectation that you’re buying gear that lasts.

But when I submitted a claim, I was told peeling logos were “normal wear and tear” and that three years of use is a “reasonable life expectancy” for a $500 down jacket. They even clarified that “lifetime warranty does not mean your lifetime.” This feels deliberately misleading. The warranty sounds strong on paper, but in practice it’s just marketing spin.

For a brand that positions itself at the top of the outdoor market, this was a let-down. The quality didn’t hold up, the warranty is hollow, and the service dismissive. If you’re considering paying premium prices for The North Face because of the supposed durability and warranty, think twice.

My Gore-Tex jacket delaminated after a few years in the cupboard the jackets was stored with all my jackets and it was the only one that deteriorated and laminated. requirements. The jacket has only been used a handful of times whilst on holidays as where I reside does not snow. Extremely disappointed with the price that I paid on the Quality as I was looking forward to using it this winter. CUSTOMER CARE for price sent me a convoluted email that made absolutely no sense and. My email explaining how the jacket has been stored etc again very disappointed with the product and CUSTOMER CARE was expecting at least five year warranty. The manufacturers warranty also states unlimited lifetime warranty yet. I can’t even get five years. Do not buy this product.

Jacket started to delaminate badly after less than two and a half years. Customer service was terrible and said this was normal wear and tear which is ridiculous for an expensive hiking jacket that hasn't been used that much. Do not buy they don't stand by their warranty or quality.

Shell Jacket with HYVENT DT coating - the internal waterproof coating started de-laminating at around 18 months, which now leaves white dust particles all over my under garments. See pics I've since found out that older versions of this coating contained PFAS When I contacted The North Face Australia with the issue, they said they wouldn't do… Read more

anything about it, unless I could provide a receipt. It was a gift from my sister !!!!

Fair enough I don't have a receipt, but the garment warranty on their website states "Limited Lifetime Warranty against manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship for the lifetime of the product".

Its obviously a manufacturer fault if the coating peels off !!!!!

Never buying a NF product again............

Lifetime warranty - nope not at all – Bought a VE 25 tent with a lifetime warranty. After 10 years the porthole fell off. Went through the warranty process. After a long time they came back with “this product is outside of its lifetime, no warranty will be given as it appears used” Well yes, that’s right it was used, these tents will last a lifetime with the right care, and nothing… Read more

else is wrong with my tent, other than the use of inferior glue to attach the porthole to the fabric. But somehow this is my fault according to the excuses given by TNF.

So no warranty was given. Considering these tents are high-end mountaineering tents that cost over $1000 aud, I would have expected this issue to be warranted.

Its a case of - we talk a bit game - on TNF website they state they are still “helping people maintain their sleeping bags from the 70’s”

If so - why can’t you help a customer with a legit problem with a tent?

I’ll tell you why - because requires doing a proper job, not just writing some fluff on a website.

Buy something else if you want warranty. Buy something else if you want it to last.

Poor quality and worse service – I agree with all the negative comments here about the north face lined waterproof jackets. The lining just disintegrates and North Face reject claim because they said I didn’t wash it enough. Who washes rain jackets anyway?

Poor after sales service & warranty – I purchased this jacket and mostly kept it in my cupboard hanging up for some time until I pulled it out one day to wear it (after a few years in storage) and noticed all the lining peeling off the inside. When I contacted The North Face with a possible warrantly claim they said it was my fault for not taking proper care of it. Not sure how it… Read more

could be my fault when it was just sitting in storage. Basically they didn't want to take ownership of the proplem and past it off as my problem and too bad. Pretty dissapointed given this company charge a premium for a supposedly "premium product".

Will think twice before purchasing expensive jackets from The North Face again.

Jacket leaks lots of feathers – Awful product that bleeds feathers and lost its waterproofing within 12 months of purchase despite following care instructions thoroughly. The first jacket was replaced by the store manager as she agreed the jacket was losing an excessive amount of feathers. I eventually go back to the same store with the same problem of excessive leakage, but… Read more

with a new manager, who argued it wasn't an issue.

I purchased the down jacket for $750 and it has not stopped leaking feathers for the 3 years I've had it. They come out through the seams and fabric. I've tried putting it in the dryer on a hot setting as per the store managers suggestion, and I've tried using the Grangers down jacket shampoo. Yet, the jacket still has up to a couple of dozen feathers coming out each time I wear it. It's really difficult to pull them back into the jacket.

I thoroughly regret buying this jacket and feel like I wasted my money on a vastly overrated brand.

Bad Quality - Rain Jacket – I recently had an extremely unsatisfactory experience with The North Face AU, and I feel compelled to share my story to warn potential buyers about the quality of their products and the disappointing customer service I received. I purchased the North Face Venture 2 DryVent Green Rain Jacket (SKU: 00654130) for a premium price of $220. To my… Read more

dismay, the jacket's lining began delaminating after what I consider normal wear and tear. Naturally, I contacted The North Face AU Online Customer Care on November 27, 2023, seeking assistance.

Their initial response insisted on proof of purchase, either in the form of a receipt or bank statement. Unfortunately, I couldn't locate this documentation, and this seemingly became a roadblock to resolving what should have been a straightforward matter.

After providing clear images of the defect, the response on November 30, 2023, shocked me. I was told that delamination is considered normal wear and tear, and the deterioration is not covered under warranty. This, despite the premium price tag and my expectation of better quality from a reputed brand.

Subsequent communication on December 6, 2023, confirmed that The North Face AU would not provide a refund or replacement, citing the issue as not covered by the warranty policy. This lack of flexibility and understanding has left me deeply disappointed.

I am sharing this review as a cautionary tale for potential buyers. Be aware that seeking assistance for faulty products from The North Face AU might lead to frustrating experiences and unhelpful responses from their customer service team.

In conclusion, I would strongly advise potential buyers to consider this before making any purchases from The North Face AU. The quality and customer service I experienced have significantly undermined my confidence in this brand.

Great Fit and very functional – I ordered the Men's Paramount Active Pant online from the official THE NORTH FACE Australia online shop. The fit is good. The color looks great for outdoor use for it does not attract dirt easily. Very functional. I love the zip pocket on the right side. It fits a large screen phone on a bulky case. Very light. Great for any outdoor activities. I bit cold for chilly mornings. Overall it is a good pants. Show details
