My advice before buying a car from any dealer is to contact who ever serviced the car last or purchasing a pre inspection. I bought a Mitsubishi Lancer 2011 from the Lidcombe dealership and it broke down the same day. Thankfully they picked up the car and returned our money. I wasnt interested in having the car repaired. The car should not have… Read more
been sold with a faulty transmission. If you have an issue that is deemed a major fail you are entitled to a refund. Know your consumer rights. Lets hope they fix the car before selling it again.
same review as the one i posted on google... sad to say, i'm extremely disappointed with my experience here. PSA- if you're thinking of getting a car from here, unless you really know your stuff, please do a full PPI check by an independent mechanic, even on a cheap car it'll save you thousands. today i went down to inspect and test drive a 2011… Read more
Honda Civic, rego CDM31Z. It was listed for $8990, and got it down to $8000 over the phone. high for a 14 year old civic with nearly 180k km, but they said car was in great condition and so i thought it's an ok price albeit on the high side. bought a report from service nsw and it was a one owner car. ppsr checks out too.
the salesperson also said over the phone that the car was ready to drive away on the same day, and reassured me that there was full service history and the car is in good condition and no repairs were needed. great!- or so i thought....
well, sadly, that was far from the truth. car's tires were not in good condition, borderline on the right, worn on the left. you can feel it. an uneven wear. suggests to me either alignment issue (past accident not repaired well), worn bearings, or suspension issues.
felt that the engine oil not in good condition too. greyish hue to it, and was slimy and sticky when touched. suggest water or coolant leaked.
next the car had a super bad vibration when idle. i looked at salesperson and we laughed. lol.
left signal stalk not working as well.
salesperson then admitted that "probably an engine mount has to be done, along with the tires".... to me it seems a gasket too just by instinct.
seriously? after you said on the phone it was all good and no repairs needed? and the damn thing probably won't even get a roadworthy in its current state!
oh and the service history was not full as they claimed it was.
and they kept saying "oh no worries everything will be fixed for you so there won't be any issue"- yeah don't fall for that. the damn thing probably has been driven like that for the past few months, exponentially declining the health of the car.
like come on, i know you wanna sell the car, but man, be honest...just wasted your time and mine. extremely unethical sales tactic, and if someone who comes in knows nothing about cars, and you sell it to them like that, it gonna cost them a bomb! put yourself in your customers' shoes! how would you feel if this was your experience?
very disappointed with this...especially reading the reviews here of the salesperson and the company in general. i can't express my disappointment enough!
Saw a car advised by Lahood. They had taken photos that avoided all of the damage which made the car appear to be in much better condition than it really was. I did not buy, they also tried to tell me that the missing services in the logbook didn’t mean missed services - apparently mechanics don’t do that any more…

The best service – I bought a Toyota RAV4 for my son who goes to uni in Sydney. I was unable to get to Lahood Motors as I live 6 hours drive away. So Matthew from Lahood Motors looked after everything that I needed on my behalf. I organised an independent mechanic for a pre purchase inspection and Matthew made sure that the car was easily accessible. Once I… Read more
got the report back, I phoned Matthew and organised for my son to pick the vehicle up. Nothing was too much for Matthew, he went above and beyond with every single request that I had. When my son arrived to pick up the car it was presented with a red bow and was immaculate inside and out.
My son is stoked with his new car, and I am grateful for the professionalism that I received every step of the way.
Thank you so much to all of the staff at Tony Lahood Motors especially Matthew. I would recommend this car yard for the purchase of a car due to my own positive experience in a heartbeat!
they put additives in the cars to make them run for a little – they used a headgasket fix in my car have a look in the photo for my proof. i wish i never went to these guys

I had a really bad experience at this dealership. I went to check out a Lexus RX330, and everything seemed fine until the test drive. The car had some issues, particularly a vibration when braking. When I pointed this out, the sales assistant dismissed it, claiming it wasn’t a big deal, despite my concern that it could pose a safety risk. The… Read more
situation got worse when I asked about the tires. Mentioning the Australian government's environmental regulations set him off, and he called me a "green idealist." The conversation quickly turned into an argument, and we decided to leave. The whole experience was unprofessional, and I’d recommend avoiding this place if you don’t want to deal with rude behavior. However, if you enjoy arguing, this is the place for you.
WORST CAR DEALERSHIP – Bought a car from them, they were dishonest and tried to rush the whole process. The car had so many problems with it after and they were really hard to reach out to after the purchase. NEVER VUY FROM THEM!!!
Sold dangerous and faulty car – There are no words that can describe how terrible it is to buy something from this place without checking the Google reviews first. If you buy your car here it will be a waste of money. The car we bought (less than 1 week ago) is very faulty.

Worst experience of my life – I purchased a 2008 Holden Astra for $8,000 from Tony Lahood Motors in August 2023, and unfortunately, my experience has been very disappointing. From the start, the car was handed over to me in an extremely dirty condition, both inside and out. Over the course of the year, I had to replace the motherboard, air conditioning system (including the… Read more
gas), blinkers, window wipers, and finally, the gearbox—all within 12 months.
To maintain the warranty, I was required to bring the car in for service every three months, costing me $300 each time. Despite these regular services, the gearbox failed just before my mother came to visit from Italy for 20 days. The car was kept for the entire duration of her visit, forcing us to rely on public transport. When I sought updates, Matthew was consistently vague, condescending, and rude. I was repeatedly given different dates for when the car would be ready, only to find out later that the car hadn't even reached the mechanic until much later than promised.
The situation escalated when Matthew not only raised his voice at my mother, who speaks little English, but also verbally abused me. He yelled at me, a 26-year-old woman, and had the audacity to tell me that I have mental health issues and need to get checked out. This level of disrespect and unprofessionalism is unacceptable. I feel misled, taken advantage of, and ultimately scammed by this business. I strongly advise others to avoid Tony Lahood Motors to prevent experiencing what I went through.

Don't buy a car from here , they are just faking it – Well, I bought a mazda with them but the engine wore out just in 8 months and though they claimed it was cover on warranty. It wasn't covered, they just provided 1000 and rest was to be paid by me. It's really bad experience as in spite of doing servicing on regular basis and buying a car with warranty I end up with this.
Complete rip off. dishonest people. never buy from them – Complete rip off. dishonest people. never buy from them. sold me a car which does not have engine oil at all. and they said its serviced recently. there was nothing in logbook as well. started leaking oil fron 1st night and have to go back 40km few times to get this fixed. after 2 months, it had massive transmission issue and their given warranty… Read more
declined to acknowledge it. have to pay 3400$ from my pocket. mechanic james is very rude , when i asked about window part , he literally misbehaved like an as.... and illiterate person.
Quite dishonest – Was lied to by Arun that the car was regularly serviced as per log book. It appears as though 5 of the entries were falsified. Mandy went from sweet and helpful to angry and insulting when this was mentioned.
Scammers – Young man told me to put oil on belt and it should be fine after hearing a squeak . I asked what belt is that.. he said I don't know.. the hood couldn't close.. front bumper hanging off.. omg.. thank god I read reveiws first..
DO NOT BUY FROM THESE CROOKS – Purchased a 2018 Ford Mondeo "fleet car" 7th Oct 22 at Granville. Told is was never in an accident. First Service yesterday, told it had been in a serious head on type crash and deceptive shonky repair. Absolute joke. ACCC here I come.
Don't waste your money and time – Dishonest used car salesmen tactics. Immediate defects on body and from accidents and it's called "wear and tear", one "female driver" sales line, car tyres are cheap unknown brands that are damaged, they'll sell you vehicles with completely defected breaks that won't pass safety a check. Don't bother trying to bargain them to change them even… Read more
with authentic parts or install them properly. They'll raise their voice making lies to sound like you're wrong and they're right stating facts. They'll try to make it sound like their cars are selling every minute and a buyer is lined up aby second to buy their cars to make feel you pressured to buy their death trap, money pitt, lemon car. Be smart! And go to a reputable dealer
complete rip off – Purchased a car for $20K. This is the 4th car I have purchased. The last one completely died. 8 months later the car needs over $2500 worth of parts. SCAMMERS
Rip off Motor seller – Very very bad people they are. Just want to sell rubbish car to the customers. Never buy this place any car. And they are very expensive too. I suggest to you all don’t car here plz. They rip me off $13,000.00.
tony lahood croydon MASSIVE LET DOWN – I saw a car online that was priced fairly so i organised my local mechanic to have a look at the car, the feedback I received back from him was "stay away unless you want to buy a lemon" he told me there was no way that the car was roadworthy, it was leaking oil and was patched with silicon along the timing cover, has tyres below the limit… Read more
indicator and brake pads were finished, it also had an airbag light on, such a let down that you think you go to a dealer but you come out with an experience like this, the car was obviously listed at this price due to multiple mechanical issues and as explained to myself by my mechanic as very obvious issues to anybody mechanically minded. I would stay away from this dealership, save your time and money. 1 star is far too generous

Dishonest – This place is dishonest and completely takes advantage of anyone that isn't an expert. They sold me a car that has multiple problems, and even though the car supposedly had warranty, they refused to fix any of it, even just a month after I bought it. I could not warn you enough: DO NOT BUY FROM HERE!!
“Cars aren’t made for rain” I live orange!!! It rarely rains here!! – I had a warranty issue after buying my Audi Q5 Quattro originally and [Name Removed] was able to help me out and we got the problem fixed. Since then he has left and our car is having the same problem and no one there is willing to help me fix the problem and the car is still covered under warranty. The place has gone down hill since [Name Removed] left!!
Anthony is a clown – I honestly dont know how this place operates, one of the workers Anthony is an absolute clown and has no idea about anything, everything we asked him he didn't know about them. What kind of worker doesn't know about anything? Why are you even there? he decided to tell us that cars aren't designed for rain, talking about rain we weren't born in the… Read more
last shower, you need a reality check mate, stop taking advantage of people and cover my car, it was an existing problem within 30 days of purchase, I would steer away from this dodgy dealership.
Horrible service, dishonest and aggressive – Went and saw a car on Saturday evening, decided to go for it based on his recommendation and place a AUD500 deposit. However, on Sunday decided not to go for it since the added cost of broker fees did not make sense to us. Immediately called on Sunday afternoon to let him know we weren't going ahead. He started yelling and screaming about losing… Read more
sales. We said it was only a day and we let him know immediately. Then he said he will check with Accounts on how much can be returned. And since then two weeks ago despite emailing, calling and leaving messages he has not returned calls at all. Will not recommend these guys by a mile. Additionally its funny how 11 people on their FB page have had a 'great' experience but eveyone else on the general internet has the worst experience with them. Wish I had done a more thorough research on this shady business.
We got scammed. Stay away from this place – I wished I had read the reviews on this place before buying. I bought our first family car there thinking it was a good deal but the engine light of the car turned on only a day after. I called to follow up as per the warranty they promised but when I brought in the car they only “cleared the codes” to cancel the engine light but never actually… Read more
fix the problem. I brought it in with the same problem after the engine light returned a few days later. And again when the sunroof leaked after rain. Each time, no one fixed the problem and I was made to feel like I was an annoying customer for bringing back a faulty car. We’ve since taken our car to another mechanic to actually get it fixed and the advice from our mechanic? “Sell the car, it’s not worth the long term maintenance”. Sadly, I wished I had read other reviews before purchasing our car. We got scammed. I agree with the other reviews of this place - this business should be audited. Save yourself time - and money - and buy a car from somewhere else.
Stay away – Purchased a car from these guys. The after sales service was shocking. Serious issues with car discovered with in days of purchase. Owner rude, delaying tactics till their warranty ran out. Not worth as toilet paper. Car was needed to help at a time of great family health issues. I couldn’t help as much because car totally unreliable. They didn’t care. I would never recommend this place
Do not buy a car from this man – Extremely aggressive individual who I would recommend any car buyer to steer clear of. He is dishonest, and his business should be audited. Very shadey character, keep safe and stay away
Excellent dealership – I bought a car from this dealership a few weeks ago. The team at Tony Lahood Motors were wonderful and helped me find exactly what I was looking for at a great price. I highly recommend this place and will be sending everyone there.
One of the nicest car yards – Came in to buy a ford and the sales team were amazing and very helpful will be back again! Be nice and nice things will happen to you thank you tony lahood
poor attitude from we believe the owner – came in with my wife to buy a first car for my daughter, myself having a mechanical background (working with machinery such as forklifts) I know how to look for the obvious defects on a car. when I brought up the issues with the car (hail on the car) and an very obvious oil leak with the person attending us got a aggressive with us and told us its… Read more
hot out today either buy the car or stop wasting my time.. i found this outrageous as a business owner that we were treated this way. we ended up leaving as entering an argument with people isn't really our style.
