Thankyou Carlos for fixing my 20 year old aircon that was leaking from inside unit. Carlos quickly assessed and cleared blockage in down pipe and went on to thoroughly clean the aircon and has great communication skills so I knew exactly what needed to be done.. I will certainly use Total Airconditioning when the time comes the unit needs replacement or if I have further problems.

Not recommended – I got an initial quote then when they came to install the ac unit they said I needed to pay more! This is unethical and I went somewhere else.

the quote the time frame was correct and the communication was great. The installation time were punctual, efficient and polite. Little things like being able to track the technicians arrival on your phone ensured your were not kept in the dark about arrival times. was so bad, that I was forced by my partner to open the doors of the lounge where I was slowly freezing, while doing my remote work from home thing, so that she can breath in the living room. Freezing to death while hearing the loud noise of bad Television, on the positive side, felt quite romantic, and reminded me of the Christmas of my childhood in the northern hemisphere.

Everyone who lives in the city knows, that should any disaster of any kind befall you during this period between Christmas and new year, that you have to just suffer or die as everything is shutdown. In my case, I was so desperate that I found another company that took my money and did nothing (See my other review). Previously, I think I might have encountered this problem of uneven workflow but perhaps a little less dramatically, but other air-con technicians who scientifically studied this problem by running their hand under different ducts, declared that everything was working as intended.

So, by the time Liam from Total Air Conditioning turned up, I had little hope. I had already done my 200 hours of worth of research on how I would replace my evil aircon, as we all do, and have recited, I thought, my final warnings against it. My experience of the ducted aircon and its service was so bad, my suffering with this aircon unit which has lasted for 20 years so far, refusing to die, but tormenting me every year that I had already vowed never to use ducted air-conditioning ever again.

Anyway, Liam setup on analysing the problem. From the start I noticed something was quite different. He came ready for battle, prepared with measuring instruments, not just his bare hands. He did not even flinch, when he I told him that I had the Ross North metal roof on a metal frame, which strikes loathing and fear in the heart of every tradie and technician in Perth, causing them to run to the exit door, and to delete my messages and emails. Liam shut the power supply to be safe, but was up on that roof in 50 degree heat (perhaps more) before I could talk him out of it. Even more remarkable, he did not seem even a little rushed. He sat up there patiently in the torturing heat, measuring and analysing as any self respecting technician should. I tell you this is not anything like the work of us, office works, who sit in air-conditioning office, supported by our colleagues, and complaining if the coffee from the cheap office coffee machine does not taste so good. This is work that is truly bordering on being heroic, so we must appreciate these guys working in the heat, but really we should help them and ourselves to avoid this by doing good service in winter. Book them for service before your air con breaks, or find a similar reputable company. Read my other review, and avoid the dodgy companies.

Anyway, Liam figured what the problem was and it all made sense, as two zone controllers had failed after 20 years, causing what is known in air-conditioning scientific literature as Uncontrollable Schizophrenic Misbehaviour, which can luckily be cured by putting in new zone controllers . Liam had the spare parts and was able to fix the problem on the spot. I was already happy, but Liam was still not done. He washed the filter thoroughly, checked the outside unit, double checked the ducts in the roof, checked my smoke alarms, and even managed to sneak in a Total Air Conditioning Service sticker on my controller when I was not watching. Now the Unit is running like new again, so much so , that I am really scared to jinx it by writing this review, as more zone controllers are near the end of life and are bound to fail sooner or later. Still, I am really happy with the repair, and I do not like to throw things away, so the long war between me and this unit will continue for another year. Let's see who will live longer.

Oh by the way, This company offered me a discount on a follow up service, if I write a review for them, but I am not claiming the discount, as I want to write the review without any influence, and they deserve the good review even without incentives. Given the state of air-conditioning service in Perth, and that their service is actually good, I am worried that they might soon get overwhelmed, and might even have to pay their customers not to write any more reviews.

Responsive, excellent job at a reasonable price – Liam from Total Air Conditioning serviced our split system unit today (old but in perfect working condition now ready for summer) and serviced and repaired a leak in our ducted system. Couldn’t be happier. Will be using them to service my father’s home and to install a Fujitsu split system in his bedroom. Definitely recommend.

Professional service – The technician did a thorough assessment including testing of our reverse cycle central aircondition system. He found the reason why the system was not working. He discussed the alternatives for a new system and took the necessary information. He also found faulty wiring in the roof which he fixed on the spot. We received a quote for a new system within 24 hours.

Hassel free product order and installation – Avanti Plus 2.5kW reverse cycle split with installation package. Order was done online with very prompt response from total air.
