Good all round people's car. Pity it is discontinued – Have had a late 2017 Aurion Presara. Use: business and other town and country functions. It has had daily use with a lot of short trips and some decent long distance trips but with overall mileage quite low (under 15000 klms per year.) Servicing is regular. Cost is high enough for me to definitely notice. Never any concern. While there is an… Read more
ordinary edge to this car it does carry much of what we should currently seek in a moderately priced family car for Australian roads. Its looks are not outlandish but are too smooth and clean to be called dowdy or old. Decent IOS and Android connectivity, Toyota App, maps and other utilities. Stereo is decent as is voice assist and layout of menus is good. Air conditioning works well and the moonroof creates good airflow without undue aerodynamic disruption. Low noise (made lower with Pirelli tyres.)
Quickish compared with most other cars on the road and with largish tried and true motor. We had a ZR6 Sportivo before this and it did appear to have better suspension giving greater agility (faster cornering) but this is no slacker in that department handling better I think than can be expected given cost comparisons. The brakes suffice but are nothing to write home about. I like the original Michelins but find high end Pirelli's give a little better handling. Seems pretty thirsty around town but at fuel use down to about 6.7 or 7 l/100klms possible on the open road (for very gentle driving) I can't blame it for my often using a litre or a litre and a half more when out of town.
Direction following lights, their automatic downswitching, automatic rear vision mode, automatic wipers, blind spot indicators, highly manipulable drivers seat, advanced speed control, good engine braking, rapid demister and a wealth of automated and convenient features are there most of which have still not made it to most vehicles on the road. Especially pleased that it continued the foot 'hand' brake of earlier Aurion releases. Pleased also that hands free telephone use is now fully built in. The previous Aurion has so much spent on trying to get good hands free service going...all of which failed to a fair degree in my opinion.
Large boot with protector. Full size spare. Inside; plenty of space for 5 largish people. At the front end, everything you are likely to need to get to is easily accessed. Long legged with a motor and build you should be able to expect to last the distance. This one has not been used to tow but am reliably advised that it is capable in that department.
I think of it as an ideal mid-20teens Australian peoples car. Just about everything one would need and just about everything most would want for most local driving. The overall excellent star rating I give is moderated by the expectation that should come of any 'peoples' car. It offers excellent value for dollar cost.
Great value vehicle – I was tossing up between the Aurion, Holden SV6 and Subaru Liberty, three have there good and bad however the Aurion represents the best value. The V6 has good power and requires care when taking off from a stop due to the front wheel drive, great overtaking power. Road noise is minimal. Voice activation works very well with Toyota link and… Read more
calling is very easy if the contact is within your phonebook. Emails and texts are easy to read / listen to as well. A big issue with Toyota link is when driving you are not able to enter a phone number or search through your contacts using the dial pad, the options are greyed out and you must be stopped. Toyota link is also very hit and miss when trying to use the fuel finder or weather application.
The interior is fine and drivers seat is easy to adjust, centre console bin is huge and the glovebox has plenty of room. The rear seats fold down however as the head rests are fixed, they do not allow to seat to fold flat restricting load area. Plenty of room in the boot big enough to hold a Waeco fridge, however there is no 12v outlet. I only use Caltex 95 fuel and see 7.7l / 100km on the highway and 10l / 100km with a mixture of city and some 80km/h zones. All items under the bonnet are easy to get to such as oil dipstick, battery, wiper fluid etc.
The only negatives are I wish the Aurion was rear wheel / all wheel drive as it would make it a much better drive and the infotainment system requires work. I ended up choosing the Aurion over other makes mostly due to cost, it was cheaper to buy, service and insure over the Holden / Subaru.
A good family car – Bought this lovely horse with 64 k on clock two months ago and now done near 4,000 kms. Bought this car as my heart was nearly broken by my previous 2006 E90 BMW 320i haha. This Aurion's been very reliable so far. I've also bought a three year mechanical warranty which cost me NZD 1,000 for this car. So 100% peace of mind driving this car. … Read more
Pros:
1. The V6 engine runs great. It does its things. No much rattles when idling due to the V6 engine. The V6 engine is powerful. When you are driving this car, you are not pushing the throttle paddle, you are just put your right foot on the throttle paddle. When you wanna pass one vehicle, ok just pass it.
2. The transmission shifts smoothly.
3. Easy access to the air filter and the cabin air filter. You can do it yourself with no screwdrivers.
4. Front drive set makes you feel more confident to drive it when raining. It also gives you flatter back floor.
5. Bluetooth phone and music connect.
6. Cruising control.
and many more others have mentioned...
Cons:
1. The brake system works not very smoothly although I've had the brake fluid flushed and the pads and the motors look fine. I cannot exactly predict how much I would get when pushing the braking paddle. Probably I should have the system fully examined when next service.
2. Weak handling. It's acceptable actually. Probably its just because I've had been driving a BMW 3 series for years.
3. It doesn't make me feel very well when driving on the countryside roads. The car is not very stable as a standard large sedan. It will remind you that this is a renamed Camry.
4. The paint very easily gets scratched. Be careful when washing this car. Must when the paint is cool.
5. It's not easy to get access to the inner fuse box. I guess its because Camry was developed a global car so it was originally designed as a left hand drive car. Although you may don't have to do this for the whole lifespan of the vehicle or you will simply send the car to a mechanic if you need it.
6. No factory tire pressure monitoring system.
7. Halogen bulbs for atx models. but if you drive this car most in urban area it doesn't matter much actually. but if you are gonna drive it on the open roads with no road lights, oh man...
8. No button on the trunk to open the trunk. You will have to either use the key or come back to your driver seat to open the trunk.
Listing so many cons just because i wanna help potential buyers or someone to know about this car more. Generally i'm very happy with this car. Would 100% recommend. You can't find another car with this size of engine and this high level of the reputation for its reliabilities at its price range.

The Aurion is an awesome car. Reviews compare it to the Falcon and Commodore but in terms of build quality its not close. It has everything you need and a great motor with decent fuel usage (9.2l/100 km combined). I bought a 2016 Sportivo with 44,000km for $20k after wanting a Lexus IS350, i couldnt justify the $10-$15k price difference for a family car. Show details

and tear at the faster pace, uber passengers and fam love the backseat space & the strong aircon, the V6 engine while not exactly performance orientated still delivers enough power when the public roads/traffic conditions demand it such as overtaking or traffic light launches on the highway entry ramps whilst maintaining bulletproof reliability that the 2GR engine is world leading at.
Bought a 2013 make 2nd hand in 2018 with 38K on the clock for $18K. Was the principal's car at the dealership. Now has 150K. About 7l/100k on highway and 10.6 around town. Lovely car to drive, well handling and sits well between the softer ride of falcons and harder ride of commodores. Didn't look at euro because of the back to front… Read more
wipers/blinkers nor at other Japanese cars as didn't have the power. Had the engine dynoed by a mate at 214kw. No probs ever and regular services. Surprises a lot of hoons at the lights. Great sleeper. Just a great car and will prob keep it to 350K like the previous Avalon and Echo.
You can have the performance and economy as well – My 3rd Aurion, I need a reliable comfortable daily driver. The Aurion more than fitted the brief. I do mostly highway driving for my weekly comute to work.I traded my first Aurion on a brief ownership of a Mazda CX5 .It just couldn't match the overall quietness and refinement of the Aurion. No comparison to the Aurion in performance by the way. The… Read more
Aurion even bettered the average fuel economy of the CX5 by 0.1 of litre. The Mazda achieved 8.2 and the Aurion 8.1 .Not bad given that the Mazds is 4cylimder with skyactive technology(more gimmick than anything else). and the Aurion a V6.
Best Australian made car – I have a 2012 Presara. It's comparable to much more expensive cars. Has everything and serious power under the hood, and drives super smoothly. Why was it discontinued. A great local made car. Show details
Best car ever – I use my car personal use . Drives smooth and most of my time I rely on it. I service every 10km, never been any problem, just changed tyres, no worries. Show details

Excellent Vehicle – Bought my Aurion ( grill with the horizontal chrome bars ) brand new in mid 2015 $30,990 ( interest free ). Got tint & floor mats thrown in. The same car the following year, with an updated grill, proximity sensors & one or two additional aesthetics was interest free for $29,990.00. Heaps of grunt. Can blow some V8's away. 2GRFE V6 engines. 8 Litres/ hundred on 98 octane on a 5000km road trip - two adults, boot & back seat full to the brim with luggage. 10 odd litres/100km 50/50 highway/ city cycle. Car now has 130,000km & has never cost one single cent outside regular servicing, tyres & one battery. Huge boot, huge back seat area, big comfortable car with huge overtaking power between 80-120. Boring to drive, but you feel good knowing it's reliable & economical & fast! Only problem is, if you drive an Aurion, you'll never get another root in your life. Ever!
Love this car – Bought this car as a replacement for a sportive. Absolutely love it. Has a few glitchy electrics but can live with that. Road handling is awesome Power is awesome Would buy another one. Show details
Great car to own – I bought the car new and have had it for 7 years. Its performed perfectly as expected. Its powerful, comfortable and it has been cheap to run. The 90k service was a big one just after the capped price services finished and was $1500. But it has been great to drive and own.

Luxury at a bargain price – My 2016 Toyota Aurion Presara is my second (I had a 2009 model). It's better in nearly every way. The engine is a treasure. 200kw of smooth, economical power - power that most expensive European cars would only dream about. It handles well, but I will eventually upgrade to Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tyres - which will be the icing on the cake. It's… Read more
comfortable, roomy, and has an excellent crash safety rating. And it's quieter than the older model. And the big boot does the job - at Christmas it swallowed up portable tables that wouldn't fit in my wife's Subaru Forester. The one downside is the stereo - although being a JBL, it is not up to scratch, but I've solved this via an equaliser app (for Spotify). This said, the DAB radio is crystal clear. Overall, it's great value. Not far short of an E Class Mercedes or 5 Series BMW ! I expect owners of these will reject such a claim, but they're at least $50k worse off....
Best car I have ever used – I bought a new Presara in 2010 and have been so happy with the car ever since. I have done 170,000 km and haven't experienced any mechanical troubles at all. It is not a high performance sports car but enough power and acceleration for my purposes. The transmission is ultra smooth. Very low maintenance cost. Fuel consumption in the city is a bit… Read more
too high for my liking. In stop start traffic I get about 13-14 l/100 km. Wish the car had a stop-start system. On the freeway it is very economical. Can easily get 7-8 l /100km. After hearing about the design fault with the rubber oil hose, I have replaced it with a metal hose before it gives any trouble. I am getting the full value for every dollar I paid for the car. Pity Toyota discontinued the line.
BEST OF THE CAR I EVER OWNED – I bought this car ( Toyota 2015 Aurion ) about 2 months ago.I tried other brands and found this to have want I wanted. Merc Audi and even VW did not come close. Toyota is a great car .The Aurion AT-X is a fantastic car. You are in your own world when driving,so quiet. I owned a new Kia cerato before hand ( 2016 model ) what a let down. If you find an Aurion buy it. Show details
head lights – I found the headlights are distracting all I see when on low beam is this big shadow and Toyota says they can not fix because that would be illegal , I own a Ford no problems ,I also owned a Toyota Camry before this and owned a Toyota Hilux no problems , i HATE THE LIGHTS SO BAD i WOULD NEVER BUY ANOTHER TOYOTA. 59 Super Snipe. Instrument cluster looks great, auto seats keep the wife happy, plenty of legroom for a tall bloke like me and lots of buttons to push i.e blind spot mirror, headlight washer, forward and reverse sensor and automatic adjustable headlight system. Handles well no matter what you throw at it. Only issue I have is the 7 speaker sound system which is not up to par with the rest of the vehicle. I would recommend this vehicle to any person that wants a bit of luxury. Will be sad to let it go, but getting a bit old and overweight to hoist my way out.
Great car – Car has great handling and very small road noise on the open road. Car is on Michelin Tyres and has great stopping and road grip.Running costs are adequate for. 6 cylinder car running city and country km. Car seating is comfortable due to the Sportivo upgraded seats. Highly recommend if after a sedan. Show details
Toyota aurion, solid as a rock – I ve had my aurion 2 years and 40.000 kms. do I love it, NO, am I ok with it YES. Classic Big Aussie 6 – Smooth reliable powerful rugged v6 . Its been around a while which means this would be Toyotas most tested and refined engine ever. are well put together and you can tell the plant workers took pride in their manufacture and its sad that all that talent is gone to waste now production has stopped. If you want a new one you better hurry because the new v6 Japanese Camry will be more expensive.
Love this car – Bought my Toyota Aurion Prodigy last year from my local Toyota dealer and i love this car. has many features and is an absolute pleasure to drive. Electronic seats make exiting and entry of the vehicle very easy as i have hip problems. The car is exceptionally quiet and has a very nice looking front end. Mine came with all the bells and whistles and due to the paint job being insured for life against fading, bat dropping and alike, i can see me keeping this car for a while. I look forward to driving it always, It has a 6 speed auto/manual transmission, huge boot size, front wheel drive, ignition key sensor (so you don't have to push a button to open), auto wipers and lights, as i said all the bells and whistles and too much to list here. Mine is the champagne gold colour with tinted windows. rear view mirror sensor, multiple air bags, full computerised trip analytics on the dash screen. I have had many cars in my life and whilst this might not be the flashiest car i have owned (that honour belongs to a Fiat x-19), it is by far the most comfortable car for my twilight years.
Safe, Spacious and Sporty – I purchased the Sportivo model new, in February 2017. The safety features, comfort, ride and aesthetic appeal where all part of what drew me to this particular vehicle. Road noise is limited and the ride is smooth and consistent, even with the sports suspension of the Sportivo model. The interior is exceptionally space efficient, with plenty of… Read more
leg-room both front and rear, and a surprising amount of width across the rear seats. An electric sunshade in the rear windscreen is useful on those hot Aussie summer days. Automatic headlights, BSM (Blind Spot Monitoring), front and rear parking sensors, Paddle Shift, Sports Mode, Bluetooth connectivity (which also reads out incoming text messages to you whilst you're driving), electric seats and Side Mirror Reverse Tilt are some of the standard features the Aurion Sportivo comes with, not to mention the two-tone leather interior. Servicing prices are capped at $140 for the first 3 years with service intervals of 9 months or 15,000kms.
Overall a beautiful car to drive, very responsive, family friendly and fun to ride in. I love mine!
Perfect family car! – We upgraded from the Toyota Corolla to the Aurion when our son was born, it is the perfect family car. Plenty of room for the pram plus shopping in the boot. The car drives beautifully, is very comfortable, has plenty of power and is super quiet. The rear view camera is excellent. Toyota capped priced servicing makes it very efficient to maintain. Excellent Performance Car - 2013 ZR6 – Can't fault it - Beautiful car Luxury car, big leg room, very quiet engine - beautiful handling and the list goes on and on. We bought this car after the test drive of XR6, SV6, Kia Optima platinum, Nissan Altima and Suzuki Kizashi. This was the best choice in terms of money, resale value, handling, and the most important how you feel it when driving. Show details
Awesome Car – Come from a spec'd up SUV, it drives heaps better, is quieter, more refined, heaps of power, noticeably cheaper to service/replace tires and better on petrol. It's has been super reliable with no problems. Sure it's a pretty standard looking car but who cares. Love it and would recommend it to others. Show details

good leg room.
Only drawback is its fuel consumption in city drive. It consumes more than its counter parts, provided the 3.6ltr V6 engine.
You Can't Go Past The Toyota Aurion ATX for A Reliable, Good Value, Family car – A very underrated car. I purchased a new Toyota Aurion ATX in November 2015 for the discounted price of $29990 drive away, what a bargain. After many years of unreliable Fords and Holdens, I didn't want any more surprises and costly repairs when it came time for regular services. I test drove a Mazda 6 as they had better reviews than the Aurion,… Read more
it drove/felt like a little 4 cylinder, very over rated and over priced (my opinion). The Aurion has fantastic get up and go when you need it (0-100 in 6.1 secs wheels magazine) with a silky smooth 3.5 litre 6 cylinder engine. For the bottom of the range Aurion the ATX comes with many features. Front and rear parking sensors, reversing camera, finger touch door locking, push button start, dual climate control, Bluetooth and great lumbar support (I have a bad back). The Aurion is slightly larger than a Camry but you certainly get a lot more car for the same money. The boot is huge and the back seats fold down so you can carry rather long items inside the car. Fuel consumption is also impressive for a 6 cylinder car, I achieve 9-10 litres per 100 klms in suburbia and 7-8 litres per 100 klms on a freeway drive. The Aurion ATX has most of the features of the Presara which was $55000 drive away at the time of my purchase. Same car, same engine but with a few more features. I wanted a better sound system so for less than a thousand dollars had premium speakers fitted at Monster car audio, wow that did the trick. So if you want value for money in a reliable family car, my advise is to purchase a Toyota Aurion (still being discounted) while they are still available.
Great Family Car – I previously had an SV6 VE...ye it sounded nice and was very good when healthy....then she got sick and cost me a fortune! so i decided to buy a sensible car and that turned out to be the V6 Aurion. It looks like a middle-aged family man car, but she actually goes alright! it's got all the features and more over the SV6 and it does what Toyota's do. It jsut goes. Really happy owner Show details
Very Happy – Very quiet. Some road noise on certain roads. More expensive to run than our last diesel car. Insurance was way cheaper than last car which was a SUV. Good handling and great performance as far as pick up is concerned. 200 kw of power is very impressive. like it lots. Show details

15.1L/100km on a traffic but average of 5.6L/100km on a freeway. So if you are travelling on a freeway all the time then I recommend this car but if you are a city driver then think twice about the petrol consumption
Aussie made and magnificent – We purchased this low klm Prodigy 6 months ago, what a car it has been.
