Best buy – My Rav4 is used mainly for my work related travels. Being a driver of toyota for approximately 10 years now, I was really eager to drive this car. With no doubt, it delivered my expectations. I regularly send my rav4 for a semi annual service at the toyota centre. No issues since bought and have always performed great!  Show details

Wouldnt ever recommend or buy another! – I have a 2016 Rav4 GXL auto which is a company car, and have had multiple issues. I drive approx 30000 kms a year for work, through regional and remote NSW, often without mobile service and this car makes me so stressed in these situations as it is unreliable. First time driving on dirt on factory tyres (not at high speed either mind you!) and… Read more

the back slid out and across the road, andI had to get ATTs fitted straight away. Drives terribly in the wet, if you accelerate when its raining (ie changing speed zones) the back starts to fishtail. Vehicle overheats randomly, although it doesnt register that its overheating and its only when you realise the outside temp is showing as ridiculously high/you smell burning/steam comes out the bonnet you realise. By this time the bonnet is to hot to even touch to open to let the heat out. Dealership say they cant find anything wrong with it because the computer isnt registering it overheating (which is the whole problem).

Absolutely chews through petrol, and has no guts to the motor.

60,000kms on the clock, and now having issues with pulling to one side when accelerating, and losing traction in both wet and dry as if the tyres were bald (but tyres still have plenty of tread)

Today i aquaplaned on the freeway on a STRAIGHT bit of road as if i was driving on ice.

Would never spend my own money on one amd would never recommend to anyone who wanted to drive outside of a city.

Great Car – Bought the Rav in 2013 and drove it to from Sydney to Darwin a month after purchase. Never missed a beat and the diesel covered around 700km to a tank. Last week, 2018 drove Syd to Gold Coast and the fuel economy was way better. I did 900km on a full tank- got all the way to the coast and then some. The diesel must have loosened up and I was… Read more

very pleased with the distance. Only had one issue on the way when the AWD warning light came on at 110 kph and I felt the car labour suddenly. Had to stop and disconnect the battery in the middle of no where for half hour and it seem to reset the system. No problems on the return trip so far.

Would buy one again.

Love my new wheels! – This vehicle drives beautifully. No noise, great handling and smooth on the road! There is nothing I dislike in the interior. Very smooth lined yet practical and no where to store clutter which is great! Great legroom and love the radio. Great reliability and fantastic mileage! Love that my car is diesel so this helps with the the running costs and maintenance too, that is for sure.  Show details

even though not a V6 but got the kick.

Love the dashboard. The combination of blue and white light in the dashboard really works well.

Another huge plus is Rav 4 holds its value well so if you thinking of upgrading you can expect a good value for money.

The best car ever! – I am very happy with my Rav4, a big car which is so easy to drive. I am happy with the consumption, very economical, I had 5,9l/100km out and the lowest in was 8.0l/100km. Even I have chronic back pain the seats are very comfortable and even when I drove three hours continuously I had no problems. It is a beautiful car and I hope I will have it… Read more ·  1

for more than 10 years from now. Since I bought the car, except service, I never had any problem with it. So I am very happy and I think I am lucky to drive such a beauty, my Toyota Rav4!

A great car for my needs – Other than a Nissan X Trail for my wife several years ago this is the first new car I've bought. Great to drive and lots of handy feature. This is a diesel so economical (7 - 7.5 L per 100 Km though I'm rarely in heavy traffic / sometimes a little better when highway only travel). The diesel provides good touring distance per tank - petrol version… Read more ·  3

may be somewhat limited range. The 2.2 litre turbo engine makes it good around town and for touring. I think the comparable Nissan X trail with 1.6 litre engine may be somewhat underpowered when loaded. Cruise control works seamlessly and noise level is quite reasonable. The control screen is easy to operate for audio, etc. I like features such as the USB input which means I can use podcasts on USB sticks when driving distances. 2 12Volt plug inputs in the front are handy e.g. when charging a phone and running a sat nav. Blue tooth for phone is very handy and the reverse camera makes parking easy.

Legroom is generous though I'm < 80Kg and not particularly tall - the elevated seating position is good for visibility and the seating position is much more comfortable than my previous Ford which had my legs more outstretched in sedan position.

Reliability has been excellent to date (18 months) except for an initial problem with the signal amp in the radio that took about 6 weeks for Cardiff Toyota to sort out. Delivery time for part was 4 weeks (from Japan)!! The model I bought was well fitted and the deal included roof racks and tow-bar. I prefer the fabric seats rather than leather and don't need features such as seat warmers where I live. I'm a bit surprised that this model does not include satnav though not a problem as my phone has Googlemaps...

One excellent feature is that the RAV offered more load space than competitors' models and the back seats fold down flat - so it's ideal for a road pushbiike, or my band gear; and will fit a mattress (and lots of gear) for camping. The car pulls well with load though doesn't rate a high towing capacity ( < 1 tonne). It easily handles my camper trailer and "Thule' roof cargo capsule.

The car's so good my brother and I went for a road trip and after re returned home he bought one the following day.

High Oil Consumption in Diesel Rav4 2013 GXL – Drives great, like the interior but my RAV4 has an oil consumption problem. Have taken it back to Toyota who put it on a monitoring program and then they recommended to replace the pistons under warranty. However, I still have the same problem. Very disappointed that this issue is occurring in the first place with a Toyota vehicle.  Show details

Engine oil problem – Be warned when you buy a Toyota Rav 4 Diesel engine SUV. I have been back to Pennant Hills Toyota 4 time as the low engine oil light turns on every after 4,000 to 5,000 km. They keep telling me to come back to do a engine oil consumption test each time. They says its Toyota's policy, they really try to make it so inconvenient and hard. Surely… Read more

there is a problem. My warning is beware when you a Toyota Rav 4 Diesel engine SUV, because they will make you go through so many hurdles.
