participating in strength and balance building classes with an exercise physiologist through our local physiotherapist practice. Unfortunately there is a limit to the rebate we can claim using a physiologist compared with a physiotherapist which attracts a reasonable rebate. A physiologist is available to help us NOT to need a physiotherapist. Physiotherapists most often deal with acute conditions /injuries whereas physiologists can support and assist you to try to avoid such injuries, particularly as we age - I’m 80. It would be wonderful if there was no distinction between work done by professionally qualified physiotherapists and physiologist. I have already broached this subject and it was suggested we are wanting to cherry-pick. Not so! We are simply asking for consideration that rebates for these two professional services come under one umbrella. Whilst we accept the rebate limits, we believe these two professions are of equal value and should be treat as such.

Glad I moved funds all those years ago – TUH has provided me with excellent health cover in all regards - from major hospitalisation to various Allied Health services. Supportive, less expensive than other funds, great refunds, nice staff who make you feel welcome. I was convinced to change into this fund around 2015 and I am very grateful to the company representative who talked me into it! have chosen. The monthly premium is a significant outlay for me and, like everything, continues to increase. I have been fortunate not to require hospitalisation or any other significant medical attention thus far so can only assume that my expenses will be adequately handled by TUH if and when my situation changes. TUH has been a quiet source of comfort in the background for many years, handling all my claims with care and professionalism. There is not one occasion when I have been disappointed. It operates as a first class entity out there in a competitive world. I fervently hope that I will never be in a situation where my monthly premium becomes less than the priority it is for me at this stage of my life.

 Follow-up  · To date I have used Physiotherapy, Massage, Dental, Optical, and Podiatry extras. Claiming is super comfortable and easy. All done online and claims processed almost immediately. some of it for 2 Years as long as my pharmacist would print 24 months of statements. They did and I applied to TUH and received about $450 back. Thank you so much TUH; you have never let me down and as my time enters its final stage your help has been wonderful. I also must also thank TUH Care for all their assistance and especially Shannon Posow's for her patience and assistance with a silly old man. its members in setting up this arrangement as it significantly reduces my cost burden. This is why I belong to a NFP health fund where the members and not profit are the driving forces.

 Follow-up  · I saved approximately $5000 which was then used to fund the hire of some hospital equipment as I live in a two story house s I o was virtually able to live on the one floor and just go upstairs ( using crutches) for a shower. favourable than other funds. Quite frequently reception staff of medical providers comment to me that TUH does give the best value. The dental clinic at the Brisbane TUH Health Hub is a unique and outstanding asset of TUH.

without reservation.

I recently had to contact them about a problem relating to hospital coverage and waiting periods, and TUH chose to help me even though they didn't have to. This small gesture made a huge difference to me, and I am so grateful to Jacy and the rest of the team who made this happen. They also explained everything very clearly and gave me helpful information to guide conversations with my doctors.

I don't like that I need to have private health insurance, but I'm very happy that I can at least choose an ethical and compassionate insurer.

I recently had a surgery and long recovery, TUH are our health insurance providers. They contacted me after surgery and informed me of list of provisions that they support and pay for in my recovery. TUH have been amazing to deal with. I have had extra's cover for a few years now with them but I recently decided to move my hospital cover to them after being quoted an insane premium increase from my existing provider. I have been with TUH since 1978, when I commenced teaching. My claims have always been paid quickly. When our son had chemotherapy during the 1990's TUH meant we saw the same Dr every appointment. This was so beneficial. Despite the cost of private health insurance we have never considered stopping due to the support from the level of service given. My family moved from a popular health fund to union Health 18 months ago because we felt like we had limited choice in our incidental's coverage. Union health has been amazing and their repayments on incidentals/extras like dental, optical and physio leave our old provider way behind. TUH made the processes for my husband's knee replacement surgery so simple. The hospital, nurses, surgeon, anaesthetist, physiotherapist, radiology etc was all covered with a minimal out of pocket for the hospital excess. Complicated and frightening surgery was rendered trouble free with the most excellent service and cover by TUH. We love our health fund! Show details
