Another visit to TV Direct, Earlville today. Jo is a great manager, actually listened to my needs and helped me make the correct purchase. Thank you Jo! Show details
Ripped off – Purchased a one plus pen via Amazon on the 5th Jan 25 and on the 6th Jan 25 email noted they charge an excessive $19 fee to deliver it in 4 weeks and immediately ask them to cancel it. They since responded it had already been posted and couldn't stop the transaction. My concern is that amazon have a free deliver for members which they since… Read more
indicated is not for all providers. But $19 for a pen to be delivered taking 4 weeks surely they are taking the p*ss. Won't be purchasing items from tv direct or Amazon in the future.
Closure of Burnie, Tasmania store – As Queenslanders have no understanding of the NW coast of Tasmania. It is unfair to close the store, when we have very limited access to mainland stores where we can see and touch/try products. Bad business decision Show details
If i could give a minus ten i would. One star isn't low enough – Rude staff. Policy refund not displayed clearly, it was hidden behind a box on the counter. Only store credit offered. Cheap Chinese junk . I have never bought anything there and now Im sure my husband never will again either. Show details
If I could do no stars I would – Bettina, the manager of the Earlville store, gave me absolute rudest customer "service" i have EVER experienced, not only was she apathetic to my request, she was outright rude! HIDEOUS
Great service at Lansell Plaza Bendigo!!! – I've bought a number of products at the Lansell store in Kangaroo Flat and always have fantastic service from the friendly staff. They always acknowledge me but never pester me to buy and are honest when I ask for a product opinion. Very happy!
Don't buy the Chinese rubbish that these people sell – I don't care if I never go into this store again. I bought those crossover type bras - $35.00 each - I got 3, 1 out of the 3 was okay, 1 was too big and the other 1 of the 3 was just uncomfortable. The 3 of them were packed in the same type of packaging. I've bought other items from this company and the items have ended up in the bin.
great to be able to get the knowledge of products – Tv Direct is great as you can actually go in the store and see the product for yourself. I found the staff to be amazing in their product knowledge. i recommend
Rubbish products. Rude, disrespectful & aggressive staff – Purchased 2 "Personal Coolers" from the TV Direct Smithfield Qld store in December 2020. We tried one at home, and found you had to have the cooler directly in your face, less than 20cms. It blew just a tiny bit of air. Paid nearly $100 for 2 of them, so took them back to store for refund, as they were a waste of space, money & time. One box… Read more
hadn't even been opened. Store manager refused to refund. She tried one of them on the counter, and said it works fine. I told her I wasn't going to leave without a refund or store credit, as it's against Australian Consumer Law to sell products that don't do as advertised. From the time I asked for a refund, she became rude, dismissive and abusive, and when I said I wasn't leaving without a refund, she started raising her voice and yelling at me to leave her store. I took a deep breath, and said how about we all calm down and discuss this like rational adults. This seemed to provoke her, as she became even more agitated, and grabbed the cooler, pulling it to the back of the counter. I leaned over the counter to get the cooler which she had "tested", and she was firmly gripping it, still yelling for me to leave. I told her it was my product, I had paid for it, and she had to give it back to me. It was quite odd & disturbing behaviour. I ended up grabbing the cooler, and some water spilled on the counter. She started screaming at me even more, and by this time, people in the shopping centre were looking at her. I was starting to feel quite embarrassed, & so put the cooler into the bag I had, and left. I later wrote to the Area Manager, and was informed that the manager had told her a completely different story. The tiny bit of water that was spilled, had magically spilled all over the counter, the computer and the floor, and she had been told that I was the one who got angry and refused to leave, but she hoped that I would remain a loyal customer and still shop at the store. What a slap in the face, from a company that clearly sells dodgy products. I have bought items from this store previously, over the course of 6 years or so, but never again. I'm looking forward to the day they go out of business.
TCL 75" tv – In 2015 I retired and I decided to invest into a large screen tv TCL which I thought it would last me for a few years but unfortunately just before the warranty was over the screen went on the blink and TCL replaced it with a new one. A week ago 19/02/21 The under 3 years old tv again went on the blink this time it wouldn't turn on. I got a quote… Read more
$150 to get it fix and got told that it's no worth repairing (main board). I got in contact with TCL and categorically told me that they are no longer responsible to get the tv repaired. Just think about it two brand new top of the range TCL tv's on lasted for five and a half years. Good bye TCL I will never buy your brand again.
Polar breeze "air cooler ". Smithfield shop – Purchased this product 2 days ago. It basically only cools you if you stand directly in front of the machine. Its advertised that it cools the room! Called shop to return/refund and was advised that unless faulty they don't do returns! Do not shop from this shop as their products don't do what is advertised!!!
Bad product bad service – Bought a Sara Mia bra from TV Direct Tweed Heads. Most uncomfortable thing on my body, ever. Tried to return it. Manager did not return call initially and I had to contact her. Refused refund for hygiene reasons even though I was not informed of this at time of purchase. Manager was rude and unhelpful and refused refund and did not seem to care. Never shop at these stores. They do not refund regularly. Also poor quality products.
Walk 2 loose Treadmill – We have a TV direct store in our Shopping centre. I need to do some exercises and bought a few weeks ago the Walk 2 lose treadmill. Its small but quite convenient to have it in front of the Tv while running. I am small, so I don't have any issues with the size. Hubby was on it and complained that It is too narrow for him, he has to look down that… Read more
he doesn't step over the edge. Also its a bit noisy. I just bought it in December but I am happy with it. It's doing the Job for me. Staff in the Store is always friendly....

Bamboo bra – My wife purchased a bamboo bra .was told just bing it back if not fit.it had no support was hopeless so i took it back for refund which was refused offered store credit or another size told the assistant it was not fit for the purpose.DO Not buy anything from this shop hinkler place bundaberg this is stealing hate that they can trade in this country.
Refuses refunds – I returned a knife sharpener that broke after less than 10 uses, because it was more than 14 days and less than 3 months I was told my only option was replacement or store credit that expired in 3 months. Not happy I did not want another one and did not want to be forced into buying something else. I was told I could have nothing, I ended up with a replacement.
Great product – Found product very good use it all the time. Common sense on a lot of products on how to operate. I also found the suction doesn't always work, but it still works.
Nutrislicer – I purchased a Nutri slicer from the store in Morayfield Queensland. On attempting to slice a cucumber I found that not only couldn’t I turn the handle, but the suction kept coming away from my board. On attempting to return the item, I was told by the assistant she would have to test it. I was then told that it was ok ! The only way she could… Read more
slice a cucumber was to cut into 2” pieces. If I have to do this then I may as well slice it with a knife. The assistant was extremely unhelpful and I will never buy anything there again.
Drill bits that were supposed to go through everything – Never ever will I buy anything from this company again in my life. Bought a set of Drill bits that were supposed to drill through concrete steel anything that needs drilling without any problems and would be Guaranteed for life. What a joke, after drilling 16 holes for a table I need to screw castors on, the 2 drill bits completely melted. I will… Read more
not even try to contact them for a refund specially after reading the comments and ratings. I will go to Bunnings and buy the replacements and put this whole bad experience behind me.
Air cooled – My mum brought me a air cooler for my room as my little baby shares a room with me so that night we set it up and it kept turning off we don’t have any timer on it and than the cool light kept flashing we had ice packs in it that came with it and cold water but wasn’t coming out cold so the next day we couldn’t take it back as it was a public… Read more
holiday so the day after the public holiday we went back with it with our receipt told the store manger that we weren’t very happy I’m a young mum and lucky I walked in the room were my son was as it was stinking hot and he was drenched of sweat as the machine turned off so I turned it on to try it but a while after it turned back off i wasn’t happy as I borrowed the money off my mum until my pay went in to get it and mind you it is a $400 product so the manger said she will take it home and test it for 2-3 hours and let us know how it goes so the next day we got a call that it didn’t turn off and nothing happened while she had it so my mum and I went in the next day as we had to wait for a car and the area manger was in so we told her about it and all she could offer was a store credit and I said no I’m not happy as it is a $400 product that I got to use for the baby and I will need to come up with more money to get another one from else where as o wasn’t risking my baby’s life over the faulty profit and she was smart and and said well you have three months to use the store credit and I said but how am I meant to come up with another couple of hundred dollars to get another one I’m a young mum and said said that I have to ring fair trading so I did and now I’m just waiting for the paper work to get sent to my house for me to fill in
I’m very disgusted with how rude they were especially from mangers my parents and I are gonna go higher
Aggressively refuse refunds! – At The Pines Elanora store I tried to return a faulty induction cooktop. The lady behind the counter said I could exchange but she couldn’t refund me as she didn’t have the authority, I’d have to wait until tomorrow when the manager was in. I went back the next day and the manager went to give me a replacement and I said no I want my money back.… Read more
The item is faulty and expensive. I’m not wasting my money on another one. He aggressively asked why I didn’t come back in if it was faulty. I said I did, yesterday and was told that your worker didn’t have authority to refund me. He seemed confused than started to refund me and said I was lucky to get time off work to return it. While exchange was in front of my niece who even commented on how rude the man was. Not happy at all. Very rude and aggressive the moment he saw me walking in with a product in my hand.
very happy at kangaroo flat store – Have seen all the bad comments on here and realise it is an unfortunate thing that we as humans like to complain like children yet are reluctant to praise others when it is due, you have to remember that for every grumpy customer there are a hundred happy ones. I found the staff there this Saturday to be very helpful, friendly and the man there… Read more
was very inviting and funny. I understand that not all items work as you may think they should and that is up to us as customers to decide. I was there to return a torch that wasn't working properly I was happy to be offered a replacement or a credit note, I took the replacement and the man there checked it and made sure it was working before I left the store, so I'm very happy with the service there, I did ask about a refund and was told it was possible but I would have to wait till during the week for them to get the ok from there head office, so I was happy to take the exchange.
Don't give up and insist on a refund – I purchased a 'Comfy' Bamboo cushion to relieve pain in my aching lower back. When not only it did not meet my needs, but did in fact aggravate the pain, I returned it to the shop with the receipt and its original packaging. I was given a spiel about how cushions are regarded as pillows under health regulations and pointed to a sign on a nearby… Read more
wall pointing out details of their return policy. Their receipt does not indicate in any way that they will refund the purchase price if the goods do not meet product description or if they are faulty in any way. The only reference is about exchange or against future purchases. I returned to the shop a few days later because I was told a manager's intervention would be needed to approve a refund. Not only I was unable to get my money back, but the staff's demeanour was unpleasant and challenging. I left with a note of credit purely to avoid leaving empty handed.
Following this, I contacted the Department of Fair Trading and was given directions on how to proceed to allow the department to take the business to court unless able to negotiate a refund. Shop's staff had provided me with their number therefore facilitating this process. Four days later I received an apology phone call and notifying me that I could collect the refund. This took place without further hitch. I received my refund and handed back the credit note to which I was no longer entitled.
Considering the unrealistic expectations of most of the products on sale in this business and the high likelihood they would be found wanting, I expect staff is thoroughly coached in rejecting any attempt to obtain a refund regardless of whether they may be entitled to it or not.
Australian law is very clear about return of faulty goods or if goods do not meet their advertised purpose. Regardless of what shops' staff tells you, I encourage all customers who are unhappy with the service received, not to be easily intimidated and proceed to obtain their full refund. Only by doing so such businesses will learn to operate in an ethical manner.

Extremely dissatisfied with service and product – Bought pest controller and followed instructions. Took it back after 11 days as the mouse kept running in front of it. Took it back to the shop at Kangaroo Flat and was advised by manager that I had to use it for 1-3 weeks. Took it home and plugged it in for 3 weeks and the mouse kept running towards it to get to a water bowl. Took it back to the… Read more
shop and they said they wouldn't give back my money because it was out of time (14 days) and a credit was all they could give me. I don't want a store credit as I won't buy their rubbish again. I want my money back. I was originally in time to get funds back but [name removed] told me to try for a longer period of time that pushed me past the refund date. Convenient. [name removed] the new manager was not obliging at all. Will not deal with this business again. The only business I have ever been to with Consumer Affairs paperwork stuck down on the counter, obviously have a lot of complaints.
Fountain Gate- Very rude and disrespectful – My boyfriend brought a head lamp for my dad and we took it home and it stopped working and it was really faulty and the wires were playing up so i took it back and wanted a refund but apparently she couldn't do that because i didn't have the same credit card as it was purchased with and then she started to get really aggressive towards us and kept… Read more
and telling us shes not steeling our money so we got a store credit and we purchased this galaxy thing that projects a galaxy around your room, we took it home and it barely works. It was false advertising and the led lights weren't in the middle of the box so the galaxy looked really weird but would not purchase anything from their as all there products are false advertising and dodgy.
Bought a Vibrating Platform – The Willows Store manager's attitude towards customers needs attention and urgent remedial action. Bought this vibrating platform with Run function on the manual but all it does is vibrate faster and vigorously to an extent of making one sick and dizzy. Took machine back to the shop and met with the worst customer unfriendliness I have ever seen… Read more
in this world, worst still coming from a manager. I explained my situation and she would not listen. I tried to negotiate for a swap and she wouldn't even consider it.
Don't buy from this store – We bought a small table which turned out to be very wobbly. The plastic top had a twist so wouldn't sit straight. Was told no refund as they are all like that. It is as displayed. Was offered a credit note but wouldn't purchase anything else from this shop. So they got my $20. I'll put that down to experience. My luck it wasn't an expensive item.
Buyer beware – I bought a split bucket mop on Sunday and when I got it home discovered my daughter had already bought one. I returned to the shop in Maroochydore on Tuesday and requested a refund. This was denied! Had I bought online I would have simply returned and received a full refund or even if I had bought in big w I would also have received a full… Read more
refund.. Buyers beware, don't buy anything from this store as in the spirit of good customer service they will deny all refunds even when returned within 48 hours.
Terrible experience – Went into the store to return an item that does not work and was refused. Can't believe such poor service. Will not be going back as I had intended to purchase other products, when they won't stand by what they sell. Shop in this store only if you have money to waste.
They take no responsibility – I bought a waist band which was in a box larger than the actual product therefore was misled that it is larger. Not only that is is not black as the photos on the box. Went back to the store no other sizes available and refused to give refund even though they can not give a suitable size exchange. They even said 'the consumer law has… Read more
