An older guy came to quote for blinds. Certainly not wanting to hear what the customers want! But instead talking over us. opposite we wanted blinds and sheers. But again he said don’t get sheers, just have day and night blinds. Definitely not a good salesman. We won’t be going with him and his company! He was so rude! Them and Kresta aren’t the go to for what we were asking for. Very unprofessional service. Would not recommend them at all.

from contacting U Blinds and finally a response, the rep came out and could not see an issue with a large shutter opening across the front door. There is ample room for this large window shutter to open the other way against a brick wall BUT the installer decided to have it open across the main entrance door to the house - JUST DON’T GET IT???? It seemed I was a little silly to think that there was an issue with the shutter opening across a main entrance!!

 Follow-up  · No follow up from U Blinds since the rep came out to make me feel silly as to what could possibly be wrong with having the shutters open across the front door!!

bedroom with a large sliding glass door to the backyard and no privacy.

I was then advised it will take another 6–8 weeks to remake them taking my wait time to 5 months.

I asked for a refund for the bedroom shutters so I could have them made locally in Australia within 2–3 weeks, but this was refused even though the error was not mine.

I also emailed the company 11 days ago regarding this issue and have received no response.

It is incredibly frustrating to wait months for a product only to be left without a solution, without privacy, and without communication.

I’m hoping the company will now reach out and resolve this situation, as I would much prefer to update this review with a positive outcome.

I went with U Blinds because I already have their aluminium blinds on my deck and wanted the opposite side inclosed and plantation shutters in my sunroom which are beautiful. If you are after a company that: 1. Promises installation times to secure deposits (Gold Coast sales rep; 2. Fails to commit to check measure dates which delays your order further; 3. Promises your job will be prioritised then is delayed again; 4. Fails to give clear communication when requesting updates for installation dates; 5. Prior to even… Read more

unloading the van requests payment. Even after requesting to see all goods have arrived which is fair and reasonable prior to providing payment; 6. Departs the jobs leaving metal shards from installation on brand new carpet, window sills and tracks in all areas worked. After raising the issue you are asked to ‘vacuum them up’ by head office; 7. Will not prioritise making a site safe for residents; 8. When defects are noted not even 24 hours after installation it takes a whole week to return; Then Ublinds is who you want. They received our sale due to lead times matching our requirements and if I knew the above I would have went elsewhere. Stepping on metal barefoot is a pain and is an acceptable finish to Ublinds standards. After speaking to the Ublinds owner Chris Ralph we were told to man up, get a dust pan and clean up their mess. This is a company that does not take safety seriously and will make excuses as to why it cannot be fixed in an expected time. I would encourage potential customers to seek another company if you are after a better service experience. I wish I saw all of the other negative reviews prior to engaging this company. This is just a glimpse of the metal shards you can expect in your home.

doors, one very large one in a rumpus, one in a lounge area and one in a bedroom. The rumpus required two blinds, I knew this would be the case, I'd already decided the lounge would also be split. I was undecided on the bedroom, I wasn't sure it would give privacy or block light effectively, we spent some time discussing it and she held her fingers up and said the gap would be minimal, I said yes to split but then changed my mind, I had other trades there that day and we were interrupted several times. I fully understand I signed the paperwork, two lots that had been crossed out, scribbled on and were rather confusing. Again I say I take a lot of responsibility for not being clearer about changing my mind on the bedroom being a split blind. Come day of install they worked really quickly, I found a mark on one blind and pointed it out and was told just use water on a cloth and wipe, not to use any cleaning products because it would take the colour out of the blinds, right then I regretted buying a blind that was clearly not quality, that could only be cleaned with water! After they left I realised the bedroom had a split blind, it offered no blocking of light and no privacy! She had stated privacy would not be an issue because the gap was minimal and the structural middle frame of the door would block light and give privacy. Light was streaming in and I went outside and even from a meter away I could see directly into my daughters bedroom and her bed! I rang and didn't say anything other than I'd like her to come back and give me a quote for a full blind, plus a quote for a heavy privacy / uv blind behind. I explained it offered no privacy and let in too much light. On the day she was due back I received a call to say someone else was coming. A man came and clearly didn't know the products or understand what I was asking for! He brought no sample books with him and this made the situation more frustrating. He suggested mounting a new blind totally different to the other blinds, he suggested a blind in a different colour, he didn't understand when I was requesting a heavier privacy blind than the ones I'd purchased for lounge area. It was a nightmare! I requested two quotes, one for a new blind and one for a single privacy in the heaviest fabric they had. When I received the quote it was for a single blind in a different colour, the chains were a different colour and the bottom railing was a different colour. I has also mentioned that the rails along the bottom of all blinds were not weighted and banged against the windows unless totally all the way up. The email suggested if I wanted to open windows I pull the privacy blinds all the way up, why would I purchase privacy blinds if I had to have them all the way up? Also suggested was I go to Bunnings and buy padded tape of some sort to soften the banging.... on 4 grand of new blinds! I emailed back that colour was wrong, that one quote wasn't supplied, next email also had mistakes in colours ect so I emailed again and got absolutely no response! U blinds are pushy, quick to take your money and totally lack any after care service, $900 wasn't enough for them to be bothered with. Totally would not recommend U blinds.

Rang 1300 number to ask what is going on, now have to wait another 3 weeks.

Will be 5 months since ordering and paying deposit.

Woeful - no communication, nothing. Not even sure if they’ll turn up on the 16th.

 Follow-up  · Installation date deferred again, on the day of installation- then out of the blue two days later they offered to do it the next week. Installer insisted I email someone different than invoice my proof of payment. Was pretty pisse by then and said that’s all your getting which was me showing him paid receipt.

Whilst the sales process with Nick was pretty good, once the order was placed everything went downhill badly from there. My experience was poor, missed installation dates, missing blinds, incorrectly measured screens that had to be remade, poor quality installation… Read more

leaving gaps in corners, frames not secured, shutters fitted out of alignment etc, the list goes on. They will ask you to pay 100% before installation (which I refused). I was constantly chasing UBlinds for confirmation on delivery dates, on missing items etc. It got so bad that I called and emailed the owners of the company to try to get some resolution, but it seemed they couldn't have cared less, I got no reply. I think my personal experience of UBlinds can be best summed up by this example. When a plantation shutter was installed so badly out of alignment that it didn't shut, both the installer and the state manager tried to tell me that there was nothing wrong, and showed me a laminated pre printed statement from some industry association that "planation shutters sag", as a way to justify the poor quality install. I dug my heels in and they refitted it properly and guess what, no "sagging", just a properly fitted shutter that opens and closes as it should. I should have done a better job of checking the reviews below going with UBlinds, highly suggest everyone does the same before making your decision on who to go with.

delivered the first time, and on the second attempt, they claimed the order had arrived, but they didn’t have the curtains themselves. On the third attempt, only the curtains for one of the two windows were delivered.

Communication throughout the process was slow and unhelpful, leaving me uncertain about when, or if, the job would be completed.

Overall, I cannot recommend U Blinds due to repeated errors, poor communication, and lack of professionalism.

half-hearted “sorry.” To make matters worse, they demand full payment upfront and won’t even start the job until you’ve paid in full. Once they have your money, that’s when the problems begin.

at the house to be completed, when it was time to install I was advised I must have had the wrong company and they had no recollection of my order. This took over two weeks for them to recognise that they had spelt my name wrong, I am pretty sure you could have looked up my address. The lady then got pretty rude to me on the phone, when I had already waited over a week for them to call me to arrange install and now I have to wait a further 9 days before installation. So good product, poor customer service and bad approach to the install/final payment process. Thanks!

As an update after three months I’m still waiting for the final products to be installed. The customer service team really do not care and I’ve had to make far too many calls to them, they have had the wrong spelling of my name, the wrong email, the wrong phone number .. so every excuse in regards to why I’m calling them to get the products installed. And it will be five months from paying before they are installed. I wouldn’t recommend it’s just not worth the hassle of the installation and the awful customer service team who just do not care and told me they don’t and just not there problem which I get but so frustrating.

Place an order for one shutter and one security door on 19Mar2025. Contacted 1st week of June and had to wait until 3Jul2025 for installation. I was bullied to pay balance before job completed. The installer has installed the shutter but left parts behind to install security door. They are quick to take your money but no one wants to get back in contact to get the job finished. Poor form and would not use. They are not worth one start. Stay clear
