 AI reviews summary

Pros
Meal variety: Selected food and grocery items arrive fresh, offering a reliable range of quality options for home-bound customers.
Cons
Order accuracy and missing items: Orders frequently arrive incomplete, incorrect, or with substituted items that fail to meet user requirements.
Delivery delays and temperature: Drivers handling multiple stacked orders result in extended wait times and food arriving cold or soggy.
Customer support accessibility: Resolving disputes through automated bots and chat systems makes it difficult to reach human representatives for refunds.
Pricing transparency: Additional service fees, delivery charges, and inflated menu prices add unexpected costs at checkout.
Verdict

Customer sentiment heavily indicates widespread frustration with service reliability, missing items, and delayed deliveries resulting in cold food. The heavy reliance on automated support systems makes resolving disputes or obtaining refunds particularly challenging when errors occur. Overall, consumers report significant dissatisfaction with rising fees and a perceived lack of accountability from the platform.

Very frustrating to get a refund for missing items. Orders often delivered with missing or incorrect items. The in-app customer support people give robotic answers and can’t help solve real problems. Show details

First time using it, in ACT Australia, and i give permission for the app to use my location. When I place the order there was no prompt to put in my address, come to find out the address was pinned 5 kms away from where I live. correct address in. 71 dollars worth of their mistake. Potentially 15 extra as a fee- And all I had for customer support was an AI bot. No contact number. Disgusting, repulsive and I hope they get sued to death.

They falsely advertised a buy one get one deal at applebee's, but charged full price in the end. So I canceled the order and tried to order it differently, assuming I had ordered wrong. But no that was wrong too. I have screenshots and a video of me ordering. To prove the price hike..

Yesterday delivery was so bad that we could not eat it ( Rumah Aneka) and I have written a review on their website BUT now my complaint is about your app that does not like to accept complaints- is this because you have a 97% fail rate ? Your app does not accept photos ( always some issue with the photos ) so please fix your issues with the app and we would like a refund for yesterday order as we could not eat it - it was horrible Show details

Beware! I found a long hair in my food and they refused my refund saying it wasn’t eligible. This is not the first time I’ve had food quality issues with Uber Eats. They charge you extra for a service fee but there is no service. Probably not be of the worst experiences I’ve had Show details

Don't Order Thru Uber Eats! Not Even Worth For 1 Star! Vote For No Star!! Extremely Unreliable!!! – When I placed the order, it was written 30 - 50 mins, that is why I've ordered thru Uber eats as I was expecting to arrive around 50 mins. Then, the delivery keep on delaying, and there's no way you could cancel the order. The HELP button doesn't work!!! and finally, it is almost 2 hours late, and the order just suddenly disappeared in the APP,… Read more

and after searching the order, it just say Delivery Failed!! Bravo!! So finally you have just wasted your 2 hours time for nothing, and they just don't care and take no responsibility for your time! What kind of service is this? Uber Eats - do you know this is not only about money? its the actual time we have been waiting!!!! How interesting is this?

Ordered ramen on uber eats and half of the soup in the takeout container was spilled. Uber Eats support team believe despite half of the soup has been spilled, it doesn't meet their requirement to provide refund. My take is, don't order any soup based food with them. Bet they're cost cutting in providing legit support for damaged food. Very disappointing experience with a bunch of scumbag Show details

Chicken was undercooked. El Jannah restaurant. I’ve tried plenty of times to make a claim on Uber app and the system didn’t allow me to put photos and claim. Uber doesn’t have customer service over the phone. Only machine saying whatever. I have to throw the chicken. I will not order again from your uber eats. Just useless. Also I’ve ordered medium tabouli and never received. Completely disgusting service. Stealing from people Show details

Should be called Uber Con. You pay extra to have your delivery arrive quicker only to have it take longer. They have no morals or prices. For 15 minutes it has said on the way but the driver has not moved. Big business is big nonsense. Show details

I have completely terminated my use of Uber Eats. Walking away from this platform is the only logical recourse left for Australian consumers because the baseline standard of service has fundamentally collapsed. Due to a comprehensive failure in quality control and a total absence of driver compliance enforcement, users are subjected to persistent… Read more

logistical failures. This is not a matter of petty nitpicking. In my own experience, severe delivery failures occurred an astonishing eighty percent of the time.

The operational defects are entirely predictable, items such as ice-cold food, structurally damaged items, couriers point-blank refusing to deliver to the building entrance, or dropping orders at entirely incorrect addresses.

To ensure clarity, I routinely gathered undeniable, objective proof. This included GPS screenshots tracking the courier to a completely different street, photographic evidence of the incorrect buildings where food was abandoned, and records of couriers actively ignoring immediate communication attempts.

Yet, even when presented with airtight verification, Uber Eats routinely denies reimbursement. Under the Australian Consumer Law, if a business fails to provide the service paid for, or delivers a product that is demonstrably unfit for purpose, they are legally compelled to provide a remedy. Instead of upholding these statutory obligations, Uber Eats relies on a rigid algorithmic threshold. Consumer data and public platform patterns confirm that their system utilizes an automated cap: once an account registers a specific percentage of legitimate service complaints, the algorithm automatically flags the profile and institutes a blanket denial on all subsequent claims.

The core issue here is a layer of corporate gaslighting. When the algorithm overrides human oversight, the platform treats legitimate consumers as fraudulent actors. In reality, customers only report a fraction of the actual service failures they endure. High complaint frequencies are a direct consequence of a broken operational framework and Uber's refusal to discipline couriers who engage in gross misconduct. Furthermore, Uber actively incentivizes a highly flawed multi-batch delivery model. The platform allows and encourages couriers to accept five or six separate orders from completely distinct locations simultaneously.

A significant portion of these couriers lack the professional thermal equipment necessary to maintain required temperatures. I recently observed an unmarked courier waiting inside a local kebab shop on a freezing night. While I required three layers of heavy clothing just to remain comfortable, this courier had five separate orders stacked on a counter losing heat, while waiting over five minutes for a sixth order to be packed. It is mathematically impossible for that food to arrive at its destination above room temperature.

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission is simply not doing enough to curb this systemic exploitation. The ACCC needs to launch a thorough, aggressive investigation into Uber Eats' hidden customer service algorithms. Regulators must legally force the platform to dismantle the interface mechanisms that automatically deny consumer refunds. Furthermore, the ACCC should mandate the return of a 24/7 telephone customer support line, ensuring consumers can contest issues directly with a human representative rather than a brick wall of automated bots.

Most importantly, the federal government should legally demand that all automatically refused refund claims in Australia along with their corresponding user-uploaded photographic and digital attachments be directly carbon-copied and funneled straight to the ACCC. Gathering this massive repository of suppressed evidence would give the watchdog undeniable proof of a corporate entity knowingly discarding real evidence of service failures.

The ACCC could then leverage this data to launch a monumental, multi-million-dollar class-action lawsuit against the company for mass breaches of statutory consumer guarantees. Until our regulators force this level of structural compliance, consumers are better served by bypassing this platform entirely and dealing directly with local businesses.

As an Uber Eats driver, I wish it were possible to give negative stars. The pay has become unacceptable. The average payout for a delivery is often only $4 to $12, which barely covers fuel, vehicle maintenance, insurance, and the time spent completing the trip. The promotions are also becoming increasingly misleading. Every week the requirements… Read more

seem to get harder, with drivers needing to complete more trips just to qualify for the same or even lower promotional rewards.

Delivery requests continue to get worse. Uber Eats now expects drivers to complete Coles and Woolworths grocery deliveries, often involving an entire trolley full of groceries, yet the pay is no different from picking up a single bag of food from a restaurant. There seems to be no consideration for the additional physical effort, the extra loading and unloading time, or the difficulty of delivering heavy groceries.

Apartment deliveries make the situation even worse. Many customers expect groceries to be delivered directly to their front door in high-rise buildings where there is little or no parking available. Drivers can spend significant extra time finding parking, carrying heavy bags, waiting for lifts, and navigating large apartment complexes, all without any additional compensation.

To make matters worse, when the app displays the wrong delivery location, drivers are often required to travel further than originally agreed but still receive the same payment. Contacting support frequently results in automated AI responses that fail to address the issue or provide fair compensation for the additional distance and time.

Drivers deserve fair pay that reflects the actual work involved, transparent promotions that don't continually become harder to achieve, and access to effective human support when problems arise. Without the drivers, the platform cannot operate. It's time Uber Eats recognised the value of the people who keep the service running.

Let's see if I get deactivated for speaking the truth.

need to call Uber Eats. No number to call contacted support - help with order and was told I was not entitled to a refund as my food was delivered. Took a photo of what I received and sent the receipt of what I ordered and was still told I was not entitled to a refund. I ordered 1 Burger Feast, 6 Nuggets, Apple Juice and a 1.25l 7up total $66.90 I received 10 pieces of chicken, 4 Dinner Rolls and a Large Chips Total $ 27.00 The response I received was: Hi Fiona After looking into this order and the information provided, it was determined that the delivery matches the order. Therefore this order can’t be refunded. I then had to catch 2 taxis to go and get more food as I had my children with me and they were hungry so instead of it being $66.90 it was $130 later. I will never use uber eats again and I would hate to think how many people this has happened to.

Follow-up  · As I said in my first review. I have not and will not used uber eats again it was a horrible experience I didn’t get what I ordered and the food was cold it was a horrible experience.and I can’t believe it has taken 12 months for you to ask me to submit another review absolutely pathetic.

Pre-Ordered for delivery between 6.30-7pm. Was our son’s birthday and hubby had his break from 6.50pm to 7.40pm. Confirmed delivery at 6.47pm. Then changed to 6.57pm, 7.07pm, 7.17pm! I rang to see if I could pick it up and was told no as driver… Read more

Got home and no delivery. WTAF??? Rang restaurant again and driver had returned to restaurant. WTAF?? Food was finally delivered at 8pm, was lukewarm and hubby had no dinner as he had to go back to work. Food had leaked in the bag also. Disgraceful. Tried to complain to uber eats and they didn’t want to know anything. Will never use them again. Buyer beware.

Follow-up  · Driver didn’t know the street. No refund or replacement offered from restaurant. Uber eats unhelpful and dismissive with our complaint!

You have a driver called Yuan-Hung who is absolutely outstanding. I have had him deliver stuff to me in Berwick time and time again and he is like a rocket. Grocery shopping that will take others half an hour is done in 5 minutes. Doesn't matter the task, he does it faster than I could do myself. He should be training your other drivers, he is a star. Show details

If i could give 0 stars i would. Sick of their bots. People you talk to via chat say they do their jobs and dont and refuse refunds on orders multiple times when they're missing items or just the complete wrong order. I have sent emails outlining the awful service. The restaurant may have done their job but they drivers mostly dont. 5 times i recieved the wrong orders and denied a refund....woeful.

Another issue is when stores misplace your order and you report it to the app and they refuse to give you a refund like maybe do a better job and no one would be complaining about missing items in their orders. Show details

FAIR OR UNFAIR - YOU BE THE JUDGE. Uber Eats charges restaurants a standard fee of 30% for orders delivered by Uber's Drivers. Consider the following hypothetical scenario: A restaurant gets 2 delivery orders for 2 different houses in the same street and next door to each other. Order A is for $60 and Order B is for $120. The 30% fee means that… Read more

for Order A Uber collects $18.00 and for Order B collects $36.00. Same street. Same driver. Same distance. Same fuel. Same time. Same cost to Uber. Yet the restaurant pays double simply because the customer ordered more food. I’m sure Uber has a good reason why they do this, and I’d genuinely love for someone from Uber to publicly explain the reasoning behind it. Maybe there’s a logical justification. Or maybe they do it simply because they can — you be the judge- FAIR OR NOT FAIR??
