Unimac Cordless Brad Nail Gun Questions & Answers
VerifiedI have a Unimac CLS 400. It has worked brilliantly until recently when it started showing a green light indicating no nails when it was in fact full of nails. Of course it will not fire while the green light is showing. How can I fix this please?
Hi Petrus. Not sure what the cause of that is as I've never had that problem and obviously the manual can't help you. However I'm not happy with this nail gun anyway. I have a variety of sized nails but I'm always having trouble getting the right adjustment into pine wood. I've also started having major problems with the nails always jamming. I'm that disappointed I'm actually considering spending the extra money and buying a name nailing gun that I'll know will work. Before the Unimac I had a Ryobi cordless which went pretty well but I'll get something else.

Hi Hana, I have tried contacting Edisons but I seem to be getting the run around. I'm not seeking a refund or replacement. I just want to know how to fix it. Edisons want me to contact Kogan whom I bought it through but I can't see why I need to since I bought it 5 years ago. Petrus

Hi Hana I have done that and I am getting the same run around. It’s quite simple. The green light stays on continuously even though the gun has plenty of nails and therefore will not fire.

Thanks Akira. I managed to fix it by removing the nail magazine and locating the optical nail sensor. It fits into the side of the magazine and has a slot for a tab on the side of the nail pressure plate. I gave it a good blow with compressed air and cleared out a build up of dust which was stopping the sensor from working. I put it back together and it worked perfectly again. Petrus
Hi Petrus,
Thank you for getting in touch and letting us know! We really appreciate you taking the time to share how you resolved the issue. It’s great to hear that your nailer is working perfectly again.Regards Akira Social media team

Our nail gun won’t fire. There are no jams or blockages. When I put battery in the charger it shows red and then turns green after a while. if I take the battery out and then put it back in the charger immediately it’s does the same thing again - Shows red and then green after a whole. But the gun does nothing when I put the battery in it. Not sure what needs fixing/ replacement. The battery, charger or gun. Any advice appreciated. TIA PS. It was purchased in April 2019 but has only been used a few times.
sorry to hear of your problems. I also had my gun for a couple of years and it was hardly used. It jammed and was unfixable. I tossed it and bought a cheap cordless brad nailer from Bunnings (Ozito, I think). It is much easier to charge, unjam, fix, and get replacement batteries for. As for the Unimac, I suggest leaving it on the charger for 12 hours regardless of the indicator light. Sometimes these cordless tool batteries just need some TLC to get their act together. Otherwise, I am afraid to say the Unimac cordless brad nailer is just an expensive mistake.
I also have one that has hardly been used, mainly because it didnt work with no obvious problem, did some research and found that lots of others had the same problem, so i suggest chuck the thing and avoid endless frustration.

Thanks Mitch. When we contacted the company recently they said there was nothing to be done because it was out of warranty. Even though it's only been used a few times. So I really appreciate you following this up. I have emailed through the receipt to the email address above.

To anyone who has problems with the cls400 not firing nails. You pull the 4 small inhex bolts out and take the firing pin cover off. The firing pin needs to be pushed back into the gun. It's dumb but i haven't had to throw it out.... yet. If you still want to throw it out, send me the battery!! Good luck.
Might be dumb but it worked a treat! Problem solved on cls500 - thanks!!
Hi just brought a new Unimac LXG 3000 . It won't fire ? Any suggestions Please ! brand new nails full gas cartridge . gasses up motor winds like its ready but no fire .
Return it for a refund. Buy an Ozito.
Hi Daz, The best thing to do would be to check if there are any jams inside the nailer, secondly, please get into contact with our support team here - support@edisons.com.au We will get into contact with you regarding this issue to provide a resolution.
Thank you

What fuel cells can you use on the lxg3000
Hi Michael, The Unimac is compatible with industry standard fuel cells.
Cheers, Unimac Team.
I have a brand new Unimac CLS 400. It jammed and I cleared the jam but it still says it's jammed even after I have opened up the firing area and there is clearly no jam. Any ideas on why?
We’re so sorry that your experience did not match your expectations. Please help us to improve by providing more information on your experience. We can be reached at support@edisons.com.au
I doubt you have fully cleared the jam inside the nailer. I was unable to repair it after I partially disassembled it to fully clear the jam. I threw it away, went to Bunnings and bought a cheap but easier to fix Ozito nailer.
Its a product designed to frustrate the living daylights out of you. I use mine as a door stop, i agree with jumbeen, throw it away and get something else, avoid the senco its just as bad.
Thanks Jim
I need nail for unimac lxg 3000 34 degree i just nought one and wondering who got the nails i am after the 90m and the 75m can anyone help where to but them from thanks
Hi Jawad, please see with Bunnings as they have most nails available.

Hi how you put in nails I tried but they won’t go in kevin
Australia
Hi Terry, All the parts can be found on our website in the link below: external link We are out of stock for the battery chargers until 09/06/2022 Thank you!
Hi Michel,
As long as you have the correct nails they should fit correctly provided that you are putting them the right way around too.
Thank you!
Which country make unimac
To my knowledge Unimac is made in Australia I bought a 3 in 1 Brad nailer and it is a Worthless hunk of junk, I will Never buy Unimac ever again nor would I recommend Unimac to anyone
Unimac is American made
Is the unimac framing bail gunnthe same as paslode?
I believe some of the Unimac models take the same nails/staplers but if you are asking about quality of the unit then nothing compared to a Paslode
I have recently purchased a Unimac 34 degree framing gun and I cannot get the gun to fire I am using the prescribed gas cell.....spoke to edisons ..... pretty useless The gun charges (cause I can hear it) but no gas is discharged to fire gun Can someone please offer some advise.....am I doing something wrong
Daryll I too have a 34 degree Unimac gas nailer and it has yet to have a box of nails put through it and it doesn't want to play the game. Sent it back to Edisons in Sydney where I purchased it (the agents) an they tell me it has a firing pin problem and that my gun is not repairable due to it's age (which is 2 years) and yet they still sell the exact same model on their web site. Can someone give me some info on where I can either get a new firing pin from or somebody who can fix it because obviously these agents can't.

When my passcode did that their was part of a nail head jammed in the throat.
Hi
Has anyone else had problems with the CB200 - 3 in i (Air) Nailer?
Has anyone tried the CB300 - Concrete Nailer??
Is there a service centre in Australia for Unimac if problems are encountered???
Bob,
Hi Brad, I havent used either of those. Unimac is a brand sold by Edisons in Sydney. If you go to edisons.com.au there is a support & parts tab you can click on. All the best. Rob
My question concerned 'Air' Powered Nail Guns, not 'Battery' Powered Guns. The question was in response to a previous post where the user was having problems with the CB200 (Air Powered 3 in 1 Nailer)
I had purchased the CB700 (Air Powered Coil Nailer) - no problems thus far but was interested in where I could get it fixed if I encountered a problem.
Rob - thanks for the suggestion re: edisons.com.au - however the range on line is extremely limited.
I attended Edison at Seven Hills with a view of purchasing the CB300 'Concrete Nailer' if I got satisfactory information. Nobody had a clue about the products being sold - I was referred to their 'Call Centre'. This is in the Philippines. Nice, polite chaps who try their best but limited or no product knowledge.
I will hold off purchasing any further Unimax products until they have someone I can discuss the products with or a least a Service Centre I can take the article to for advice.
Regards
Bob
What is the difference between Unimac cls400 and Unimac cls500?
The unimac suffers a lot of battery failure and Jams yet to remove jammed nails its a Allen key process which if having to do it after every couple of firings gets to say the least very frustrating. I now have unimac amongst my tools to avoid for poor quality, design, workmanship and after sales service my unimac 200 3in1 is a paperweight even replacing the head will simply be replacing one poorly machined part with another. For if the head was machined properly there would not be room for nails or staples to get caught under the punch
No idea. Contact Edisons.com.au
I bought a Unimac CLS400 and it is firing to staples or nails at one time , can anyone advise me about what to do ? I bought a Unimac framing nail gun and am very happy with that.
I bought a Unimac CB200 that jammed from the very start nothing I did fixed it, I had to go buy a Bostitch 15gauge brad nailer will buy a Bostitch in future mine came with a 7 year warranty. So I will NEVER buy a Unimac again the one i got I bought from Edison's I believe Unimac is Australian if so it is a great example for not buying Australian
I purchased a Unimac CLS400. After firing about 100 nails, it stopped firing. Is there an issue with this model? I've tried seeing if its jammed. And its not. Also battery life is short.
Hi. Mine is till working after I found a loose solder inside the charger that failed to charge the battery, poor workmanship. 100 shots in your case seems normal and the battery seems flat out after that. Please check if battery indicator of your gun is on. If it's on, the gun stops firing and you need to recharge, it should be off if the battery is fully charged. Also check to see if any thing loose such as battery contacts. Hope that helps
Hi, I bought a different model back in 2015. I have had no issues and battery still holds a good charge. Sorry, but all I can suggest is to get back onto Edisons and see if you can get an exchange or refund.
Good luck
