Why is it impossible to get a balance Won’t accept on line you ring they direct you to go on line. Then when you email them they tell you that you will get a reply in two days I don’t know what year they meant it’s an absolute disgrace to issue cards like this

I heartily agree. I have found it extremely difficult to access the money I was given as a gift. It has been declined on 4 occasions after a lot of issues trying to get my card activated. The reason I have been given for it being declined is that the transaction was more than the amount on the card, even though the transaction was to be split between my card amount and a cash payment as organised on each Occassion by the cashier. Because the card is a credit transaction it has to be paid prior to the cash transaction. Unless you can spend the whole amount on a single transaction that is the amount on the card, I can’t see how you can use it. Extremely annoying, and the only gift card I have experienced this issue with!

I received a Universal Gift Card for Christmas through messages on my iPhone . I have tried to activate it 5 times today each time I do it comes up with this verification code does not exist . But it is the one you sent me . I am disappointed as it is a gift and cannot be used . I will contact my friend who ordered it for me so she can cancel and get her money back . Not good .

I have had the same problem. I had 2 gift cards. After many tries I have been able to access one, but not the other. Requests for assistance from the responsible company have not been helpful.

Has anyone else had a problem with using this gift card where you go to make an online purchase then at the end after entering all the details it says it has sent an authentication code to a mobile number ending in 9999? Therefore you can't use it as it's not my mobile number and there is no other option to change where the security code goes to? So frustrating and this just reeks of scam along with everyone else's response.

i have sent an email to universal arts over a week ago about difficulties of activating my gift card and have still not received an answer or acknowlegement of my email. not good enough as it was a gift for christmas

I have the same problem. Either the card is rejected or it needs to be validated by the 9999 number which goes nowhere. There is nowhere to update the verification phone number so it is useless. Do not use Universal Gift cards, it is a scam and I'm not sure how they are allowed to trade.

I have a universal gift card witch I received through Qantas frequent flyers program. I went to use the card in Coles last Friday and it was rejected. The information that was with the card stated that you swipe the card, choose credit and press enter or OK. On the efptos pad there is no button with credit on it. So my question is how to active the card.

Hi all. I had no idea that there was an activation deadline…and so have missed this date by several months. Hi, I was told that the funds on the gift cards were valid for 3 years, today I went to activate the cards (I was given 2) and both of the cards say suspended and have $0 balance. After reading some user posts, I suspect that this is because there was an activation date that may have been missed? Can someone point me to a escalation process and resolution here? The person that provided the card is VERY disappointed that the funds may not have gone to their intended use. Many thanks.
