Won't replace it until it dies...11 years and counting – I bought an ex-demo unit at the start of 2008 for a song. Used it for 8 years in the house and now it's on shed duties, but it just won't die. I can see where the complaints about the filters clogging come from, but for me that wasn't a problem as I have an air compressor to blow the dust out. For replacement filters, genuine filters performed… Read more
a lot better for me than any of the clone filters I've been able to find. The knockoffs permit much more fine dust through, which isn't going to help the motor last.
The dust bin hinge is a potential weak point, if it's dropped on the ground it can break pretty easily.
It's been good value for money
Not only good at picking up pet hair but my long hair on the bathroom mats and carpet as well! – I am very happy with my Volta vacuum cleaner. The brush traps hair and is easy to pull off and let it be sucked up by the vacuum cleaner. It not only has great suction power but also is tough with its outer exterior shell. The big wheels make it easy to move around, so does the wand which rotates so that the hose doesnt get tangled. It has… Read more
moderate noise level but thats to be expected from such a powerful vacuum cleaner. It also has two easy grip handles to pick it up. I paid around $90 for it in 2011 which was a good price and value for money!
I have heard that the filters are washable, which is really good. People who are finding it difficult to buy new filters I buy mine from vacuumspot.com.au.
of courrse their discontinued they are great 2400W – cleaned as good as industrial I have used •Are you happy with the performance/suction? more than happy •Is it light? Quiet? Easy to maneuvre? •What type of floors and how big is the area you vacuum? a lot of floors This is a fantastic Vacuum cleaner. Despite all of the criticism of this model I have had mine for over three years and not one issue with it. Like with any vacuum it gets clogged up and you MUST clean it
Volta Vortex – This is a fantastic Vacuum cleaner. Despite all of the criticism of this model I have had mine for three years and not one issue with it. Like with any vacuum it gets clogged up and you MUST clean the filters regularly. If you do this then you will not have a problem. I clean mine regularly and I have had no issues. Great Vacuum and Great Value and only $200.00. Efficient and not too pricey!!
Terrible Design – This vacuum has excellent suction but as soon as you use it, within 5 minutes it is clogged. The design is the fault. It has almost an S bend design and the small back section takes all of the collected dirt and it sits straight on the filter. It is the most poorly designed vacuum I have ever had. Countless complaints and I just get told to take… Read more
it into a service centre. Yet I keep telling them a service will not fix this design!! Very disappointed. Do not buy this model.
Terrible design, blocks in 5 mins, repeatedly have to empty and then clean filter every 5 mins, impossible
Amazing suction... Excellent cleaner – The Volta Vortex is vastly superior to my past vacuum cleaners [Dyson DC23, Miele S511, Hoover Conquest, Wertheim]. It's suction is outstanding and remains consistent as the canister fills. I'm simply amazed at the dirt and dust this vacuum picks up compared with previous vacuums, and it's way less noisy than the Dyson and Hoover. As with all… Read more
effective bagless vacuums, it needs to be emptied very regularly and **cleaned every week! I simply rinse + air dry the filter, and rinse the canister. As well, it's light, stable and easy to manoeuvre. Congratulations Volta! Exceptional suction, light and easy to manoeuvre, low noise, inexpensive, reliable.

Totally agree with Emma! The filters are hard to find and not cheap. Suction is bad and you have to… Read more (+1 reply)
