The freezer's working but the fridge isn't

Not sure of that one, Sorry - not a clue. ....I do know that mine is 21 yearw old and I would expect anything now.... actually been looking at others just in case!!

We have a Westinghouse Virtuoso fridge freezer BJ503T-R. Has been working fine then water started appearing below freezer door. Up this morning and food in drawers has all defrosted BUT ice cubes on top shelf still frozen! Anyone had similar issues and if so what is the remedy?? Thank you

Hi AlanH... We have a Westinghouse BJ505S-R*6, probably not your model.... BUT is now 20+ years old and it indicates loss of refrigerant or similar.... These older model fridges cannot be regassed as the current gas is not compatable with the refrigeration oils used. We anticipate having to purchase a new fridge soon..unforftunately. ... Westinghouse fridge/freezer BJ505S-R had not been used for a year or so. Our son has got it and says it keeps beeping! It's cooling OK, but the noise does not stop. What can be done?

iT'S PROBABLY THE NOISE THAT ADVISES YOU THAT THE DOOR IS STILL OPEN. mUST BE ASSOCIATED WITH THE LIGHT SWITCH THAT KEEPS IT ON.... is the light still working?

Sorry, just saw the answer, thanks for that suggestion - have passed it on! Westinghouse themselves only advised to call one of their techs and could not even tell me whether there was a solution. It's a 2nd fridge, so will see what happens. Thanks, Ballarat Bill!

We have a Westinghouse Virtuoso BJ503T which isn’t freezing anything except water!!! Went away over Xmas/ New Year and came back to find we’d lost a freezer full of food! However top part of frig is cooling! Any ideas on how to fix this problem?

Very different to my issue. Sounds like a major component has failed. Either a compressor or the electronic control module. Both are really expensive to fix and i would imagine the smell from the frozen is like death which can sometimes not go away. Might be the end of your fridge im sorry to say. Hope this assists.

We have a Westinghouse Mastermind bottom mount fridge which has the model number BJ425. The fridge thermostat is turned all the way down but things are still freezing in the lower half of the fridge. Is it still possible to get parts for this fridge in Australia?

My question is if the motor makes no noise and only hear a intermiting clicking sound what does that mean?

And what could be the problem and how to fix it...

Would it be mechanical or electrical?

I have a BJ 505T-5 mastermind the fridge has been operating for a number of years with out to much of a problem,until this week when the centre door hinge failed , this caused extensive damage to the door when they both fell off

My wife was Badly injured when both doors fell on the back of her leg, this resulted in a hospital visit and a week of work ,this could have been extremely dangerous.

Can you please advise if this is a common fault? we will be contacted Westinghouse for some recourse for cost incurred and time lost to this potentially dangerous issues

Our BJ505S-R*6 still going along nicely and it's 21 years old. Only one quarter as old as it's owner. ,,, Bill!

I have a Westinghouse virtuoso. The alarm goes off periodically. Driving me crazy. I read another person had the same problem. I was following the instructions to see if I can find the problem. In the back off the freezer I have removed the two screws an I'm trying to remove this panel. It will not come out. Any ideas how to get it out??
