A great, sturdy fridge/freezer – What a great fridge! It's quiet to operate, has plenty of room inside, and a drinks rack to keep bottles chilled and out of the way. With glass leak-proof shelves that are easy to clean. I love this fridge. The only issue I have had was the fridge door handle breaking (due to being pulled so hard as the seal on the fridge is unbelieveably strong!!!). Freezer storage is easy with two large drawers. Show details

Unhappy – Bought this new from The good guys in 2019. 4 years and 9 month's later the freezer stopped working, 1 week after that the fridge also stopped working. Rang the service number and it would be almost 2 week's before a tech could attend. As it only came with 2 year's warranty the cost was on me. After reviewing spare part costs that would likely be… Read more

needed decided to buy a new fridge that had 5 years warranty and 10 on the compressor for similar money. Very disappointed as I have had several of their products previously with out any issues. Choice advise a mid range fridge should last at least 8 year's. Must admit I couldn't go through the drama of trying to get some support for the issues from Electrolux or take it to fair trading. life's to short. As it is now a discontinued model suggests it was a problem from the start. Should have checked this web site before purchasing.

First the handle of the fridge came off ,fortunately that was within the warranty period & now there's a crack in the inside liner of the fridge. Which we were told is cosmetic even though it's causing mould in the fridge. Dealing with customer liaison was a joke. Do not buy Westinghouse products!

Good Fridge with good service – I bought this fridge 3 years ago and after an issue with a fluting noice it was replaced and have had no issues since. However, a few weeks ago the door handle broke off while we have used it perfectly normal. I have contacted Westinghouse / Electrolux through their website and posted a message here and received a call and the door handle will be replaced next week under warranty service. excellent service! Show details

Excellent. Can’t fault it – Excellent and very large. Fits everything in. Very intuitive layout. Coming from a side by side fridge, you notice that the freezer fits heaps more in, even though it’s the same volume. And the light is a super bright LED thank goodness unlike the old bulb types where you couldn’t see anything. Show details

great space and reliable - just the handles are weak – watch the handles they are weak but Westinghouse replaced mine even whilst out of warranty. currently can only buy the complete handle set for about $180. they are going to start supplying the pedal stool only which is just a screw on item (plastic and breaks easy) Show details

Awful fridge. Poor quality, short lifespan – I bought this fridge new in 2016. Within a year the first set of handles broke as many others report here. The Electrolux guy told me it was my fault and gave me a lesson on how to open a fridge door. When the second set of handles broke a few months later they said it was out of warranty and not their problem. Just lately the freezer has taken… Read more

to getting mega-cold without any warning while the fridge works its way toward room temperature, spoiling all the food inside. Some time later and for no good reason it will magically start working again. It's like playing Russian roulette with your food, you don't know when it will decide to fail and the fact that it's working in the morning doesn't mean it was working all night.

The Electrolux technician ran some tests and said everything was working perfectly. Just to be sure, he "rebooted" it and said it hopefully won't happen again. He also said that 8 years is about as long as I should expect out of it. 3 weeks later it happened again (5 times within a 3 month period so far). I can't imagine myself buying another Whirlpool product again.

Terrible reliability and service – Fridge has stopped cooling and is only just over 3 years old. Westinghouse/Electrolux service want to charge and didn't seem surprised or sympathetic that thier product failed so soon. Can't send someone for a week which isn't a good sign either. Will never buy thier products again given terrible reliability, build quality and service.

This fridge is a lemon, nothing but trouble – I bought this fridge 3 years ago through Good Guys. We were told it was a quality fridge by sales people. 13 months into ownership the fridge handle broke off as I opened it. The plastic bracket had broken. I was directed to a local repairer to fix and I couldn't just buy the $5 plastic bracket (as per other models), I had to buy the s/steel… Read more

handle kit at a cost of $120. It contained a fridge handle, freezer handle and 2 sets of brackets. All I used/needed was one set of brackets. Now 3 years in the thermostat control won't stop blinking. We have no control over the temperature in the fridge. This error is not recognised by Westinghouse as an error message. I again rang the approved repairer who sent out a technician who said he sees this issue a lot with this model. He said he thinks the issue is due to poor manufacture overseas where the insulation has not been installed properly causing weak spots that encourage condensation around some parts of the fridge related to temperature. He told me Westinghouse try to sell you an after market fix that doesn't work. He told me to cut my losses and buy a new fridge. As an environmentally conscious consumer I find this incredibly unethical. 3 years in my fridge is landfill!

The handles are a joke! – As with many other reviewers on this site, the mounting brackets for the handles on our fridge snapped off after less than 5 years. Otherwise the fridge has performed well, but Electrolux/Westinghouse are really putting their customers over a barrel by requiring you to purchase an entire replacement handle for $200, when all that is needed is a… Read more

new mounting bracket which probably costs $5 to manufacture.

Really has left a sour taste in my mouth - we are currently building a house, and were intending to get all Westinghouse appliances. We certainly will not be doing that now, after this experience.

They’ve obviously realised what a terrible design these handles were, because all their new fridges with similar handles have additional mounting screws either on the side or top of the bracket. But everyone else who bought a fridge between ~2012-2017 is left to suffer with an inferior product and a blatant money-making scheme by Electrolux if you want to replace it. They seemingly don’t care about their reputation! Go elsewhere.

Poorly designed pedestals for handles – Fridge freezer fantastic, but the plastic lugs in the pedestals that attach the handles to the doors broke after 2 years of use by elderly owners. VERY POOR DESIGN!! And then you can’t just purchase replacement pedestals even though they are held on with a screw, you have to buy the whole set of handles $177 plus about $15 postage. I have always loved Westinghouse appliances but I don’t trust them any more.

Not too bad – The fridge works fine, but the handles broke a couple of months after usage. It weren't the handles themselves but the pedestals inside the handle which are made of bad quality plastic. I found on internet a complete handle kit to replace which costs about 190$. I won't pay that money to replace only those plastic pieces. Sent an email to Electrolux and still waiting for an answer to find the proper replacement. Show details

WBE5314SA-R door handles – The door handle posts on our WBE5314SA fridge have broken, I rang Westinghouse and was told that the posts could not be purchased separatly and I had to buy the 2 handles at a cost of about $180.00 I think it is unreasonable to have to pay for the handles when I only need 2 posts.

They keep referring me back to the Service Agent .

We don't consider that we should be penalised because of Faulty parts .

We are extremely reluctant to purchase any Westinghouse Product in the Future after this unfortunate Experience .

Weak handles – Have not had any issues with the fridge itself except the fridge handle broke off on the day of delivery. bumped it lightly. I feel as though this is not supposed to occur after a light sideways bump.

I emailed Westinghouse over a week a go, I am still waiting for a reply with regards to it getting fixed.

the rest of the fridge is wonderful though. Lots of space On the shelves and door. You have to open the door wide open to get to the verge crisp drawer. The freezer gets a bit of frost though. But nothing that is too disrupting.

But I would like my fridge to have a handle.

repairer wanted to replace some pipes?

The last repairer said that this would keep happening (not sure why) and to ask Joyce Mayne for a new fridge Contacted Joyce Mayne who were helpful and agreed this was not good enough and advised I would get a call from Westinghouse regarding a replacement.

So far it has been 2 weeks with no fridge/food with 3 kids and my elderly mother to take care of. I received a call from a lady from Westinghouse (Electrolux) yesterday. She informed me someone would call me next week to arrange delivery of our new fridge. I enquired about them sending a different model as i have lost all faith in this product. She said no as they had plenty of this model in stock. I asked her if there were any known problems with this model and if this is likely to happen again? She quite rudely stated "all things brake down from time to time". Huh? Obviously do not have faith in their own product.

We are a young family and were previously using two 20yr old hand me down fridges that never missed a beat. This same lady then informed me she reviewed our case and the issues were "minor". I would say a fridge failing 3 times in 18 months is not "minor".

When a fridge won't keep actually do it's job and keep your food cold/frozen I would say that is about as big a failure as it can have.

Not happy at all. Will be taking this further and demanding a refund or a different model. Looks good, great size but the worst purchase we have made.

Great family sized fridge! – We upgraded recently to the Westinghouse (after having another Westinghouse for 7 years) and love it! There is plenty of room inside, with the wide shelves, door shelves, bottle holders, etc The fridge is also nice and bright when you open it, making it easy to find things. The stainless doors have a nice clean finish, and easy to clean.  Show details

Great use of space – I like the design, and it is simple and great for a family of 4. I like that the vegr compartment is easy to reach. Also it is fairly easy to keep clean. Temperature controls are good. Freezer works well, i like the sliding out drawers in the freezer, makes for easy storage  Show details

Best fridge I've owned – Besides a minor freezer drawer handle snapping off, this is the best fridge I've owned. There's heaps of room, the climate controls are easy to use, everything stays cold. The stainless steel door is actually quite fingerprint resistant, especially with kids around. It's pretty quiet too, barely noticeable. Very happy with it.  Show details

So far, it is good! – We bought it last year August from the good guys with 100 dollar cash back and so far it is working well. So so – I must admit that one of the reviewers is right. Fridge is not entierly stainless steal, is made out of some other "components" as if patched up with some other material with same colour all over? it looks more roomy on the outside then it has room on the inside. then the old and a smaller one.. but for some reason this is not the case. Freezer also seems too small even though it is very nicely designed. We have bought it in December and at the moment is running good, and quietly and I do not have any major issues with it. Temperature seems to be ok even on very hot days it keeps steady coolness. Hopefully it will stay like that and we will get used to our new fridge. Our old fridge we had for 20 years so maybe that is why we are "hard pleasers"?

Terrible cheap made fridge – Had the fridge 9 months and it stopped working. The tech had a look at it and said it had completely iced up which is caused by humid days or leaving the door open for to long. The door was never left open but we are experiencing some very humid weather. Now we have to leave a FROST FREE fridge defrost for 2 days . What thar??? – Me again! This time it's about a, get this! Advertised as a Bottom Mount Fridge - Stainless Steel. Specifications online says: Colour - Stainless Steel. But that is not true. manufacturer employee for this company's brand of Fridge, that the whole covering of the fridge should be Stainless Steel. I am very disappointed in this purchase as the fridge looks just like a big cheap metal cabinet, a bit like a bank safe but different. The metal part has a rough not smooth surface with two Stainless Steel doors hanging off it. The fridge is not at all what I expected. I was told that I was getting a Stainless Steel finish. And the description specifications regarding the "Colour" of the fridge also indicates that it is Stainless Steel. What thaa!!! The pricing of this fridge should be a lot less, simply because it is not Stainless Steel as advertised. Australia does not make this brand of fridge they are made overseas. I can remember when we bought our White Goods, especially fridges before this new Stainless Steel fad emerged. The fridges were one colour. Classic white, that included the cabinet and the door/s. I am sure this fridge that I have purchased will perform as it should but it is not as I was led to believe it was, décor wise speaking to match or blend with the rest of my kitchen, of which has a lot of good quality Stainless Steel furnishing it. This fridge looks unfinished. And I paid too much for it.
