Loving this magic cooking machine ! – Recently bought this as a second hand previously used freestanding cooker , and needed to buy a new door as the original was damaged . After sales experience was great and no complaints at all . The gas cooktop is fantastic and arranged perfect for my liking . The oven itself is a beaut with easy to use controls and those twin fans help keep an… Read more
even temp everywhere . Now a discontinued model , I would still recommend buying if you do source one . Failing this model , I'm sure their current equivalents to this , should also be a pleasure to use . Definitely the functional focal point of my otherwise humble kitchen .
Two gas elements stopped and now the door has exploded – Purchased brand new 3 or 4 years ago. Two gas elements stopped working within a year but was told not under warranty so have been living without. This morning I'm in my office working away when I hear a bang from the kitchen and what sounds like a bunch of marbles rolling across the floor. The glass door had exploded. Glass all over the… Read more
kitchen and living room. I was certainly glad no one was present. The oven was off and there was no damage. We clean the it faithfully. I've checked reviews and found this a problem with Westinghouse products. I'll be replacing the unit, but never again with a Westinghouse. An update. Westinghouse offered to provide replacement parts at no charge but I would have to pay the labour. I declined. I just couldn’t sanction this product in my house. The quality has me concerned. I just stare at the exploded door and imagine what that glass would have done to one of my grandchildren had they been there. We are still finding bits of glass 6 meters away. We purchased a Bosch yesterday.

Westinghouse WFE914SA broken element and holes in metal – Our oven was purchased in April of 2016 and yesterday experienced an explosion of sorts when the bottom element exploded/arced and burned 2 holes through the bottom metal casing of our oven, it was scary as i'd just opened the door when it started arching, this oven cost around $2000 and i'm quite disappointed at its longevity, i've heard of old… Read more
oven's doing this but i didn't expect an oven that I thought was good quality doing this, warranty is only 24 months, but under consumer law i would reasonably expect an expensive product like this to last a lot longer, i'm very disappointed. I've emailed Westinghouse but am yet to hear a reply.
UPDATE: At 11am 24/09/19 I have been contacted by a representative from Electrolux.
UPDATE: 10.10.19, Right i'd thought i'd give an update on everything that has transpired, on Wed 25.9.19 a technician came out to look at the oven, said most likely the element was gone, would call on Thur to book a time on Fri to fix, I spoke to Electrolux on Thurs which then said the technician would come out again on Friday to take photo's and then send back to management for review, on Mon 30th Electrolux said they would replace the oven, i guess they deemed it defective, with a similar model WFE914SC which was fantastic news, i was told the oven would be swapped on Wed 2.10.19 but it was only dropped off, installation was then scheduled for Fri 4.10.19 (took a day off) 4.30pm was told the oven couldn't be installed as 2 people were needed for installation (electrical and gas certified legal requirement for installers) fair enough you want things done correctly, got a call on Mon 7.10.19 for a Wed 9.10.19 installation date, which was then changed to Thursday. Installers came early on time Thursday morning and installed the new oven which looks similar to the old model. Broken oven will be picked up soon. I'm very happy that Electrolux replaced the oven 1 year outside the warranty period, there does seemed to be some miscommunication between the office and the installers/technicians about what is exactly happening and when however talking to them (techs) they are very busy and often work many jobs straight in a day, we got there in the end. I'm upgrading the rating to 4 stars for the replacement, all in all it was 17 days from 1st phone call to oven installation/replacement.

Love it – So easy to use and looks so impressive. Haven't had a single problem cooking with it. Oven produces lovely baking and roasts. Also really easy to clean barely even need to use cleaners on the top, wipes clean with water in most cases. Would definitely recommend it to anyone. Only criticism is that the base of the front is a funny white colour instead of stainless steel or a white white Show details
Very happy with this – Managed to get this on sale as clearance stock from The Good Guys. Very happy with it to date - only minor issue is that the oven heating light is hard to see at many angles as previously noted. Other than that, all functions work well and we've had no issues to date. Show details
Oven door – Had this for almost 2 1/2 years came with house when built the oven door was a little loose after 12 months but now wont close tight and have over a 10cm gap in the top corner called the hot line and they said we can send out a repair guy to fix. Its only 2 and a bit years old for god sake Show details · 3

Expensive oven failed just out of warranty – Purchased in late February 2018 and the electric oven has failed in late April 2020 - 2 months out of warranty. The electric oven has had little use and still looks new. We will be looking atvour consumer protection rights as this failure has occurred to others. Show details
DISAPPOINTED !!! AVOID !!! – I have purchased Westinghouse products for my house on the 01/06/2013 & delivered on the 27/10/2013, since day 1 of delivery we have just had problems. The latest issue i had was with the gas cook top WFE914SA which hasn't been used for over 6 months and is now only partially working due to led clock display. Called Harvey Norman Castle Hill… Read more
Store manager on the 10th July 2018 where i explained the problem and he said electronic products are not built as well as they were 10 years ago.
Other than this issue I was very happy with the ease of cleaning, great layout and looks but there's no point if you can't use the oven properly while cooking to check (cooking) times and put alarms on etc.
I would like to remind you that both myself and my parents have been reasonably loyal customers for a number of years and I do know my rights as a consumer.
Also, when I purchased the products including the oven I also purchased an extended warranty - for the other items except for that oven unfortunately as the sales assistant advised "nothing goes wrong" with Westinghouse ovens due to their reliability.
Here is a list of the Westinghouse products I purchased at the time:
- Westinghouse WFE914SA
- Westinghouse GHR795S
- Westinghouse POR663S
- Westinghouse WSF6605WR X 2
- Westinghouse WMS281SF

Absolute nightmare!!!!! – DO NOT PURCHASE one of these Ovens ever!! We got this oven with our build and one month out of warranty it started to blow the power... Contacted Westinghouse (Electrolux) and was told sorry its just out of warranty and plus we don't do call outs to ovens with GAS as they are not qualified to service them?! Found that strange as its their own… Read more
appliance's and they can't work on them!! Have since had 3 difference service techs out 2 which had no idea what is wrong with it and the last one saying its the 2 computer boards, yes not one but both as well as the internal light bayonet with can't be fixed as its integrated into the oven... Hence never having a light in the oven again which seems impossible to cook and watch the food inside. Have since re contacted Electrolux to try and get them to please look at this as now 5 months since this process started and was told they don't service my area and to contact another 3rd party who I did and were most helpful HOWEVER also no longer assist with repairs or assessments with ovens with GAS.... so will now be looking at taking this matter to ACCC and telling EVERYONE PLEASE DO NOT BUY A WESTINGHOUSE OVEN because as much as I thought they were brilliant and excellent quality its not the case and if there is an issue NO ONE SEEMS TO BE ABLE TO OR WANT TO HELP!!!!! PS the oven is still broken!!

Good oven , used every day for a family of 4, its now 10 yrs old – Oven is now 7 ( edit 10 now)years old , has cooked countless roasts, stir fries, bacon & eggs brekkies and has only had a fan fail early on within warranty period. Glass on front door (triple layer insulated) is easy to remove and clean, cooktop is also easy to clean and use. Gas piezo ignitor always works and has never failed. Found out during… Read more · 2
a power failure that the gas cooktop can still be used and lit which was very welcome at the time ! Had an issue (once only) with the display not changing and buttons unresponsive, we turned off the cct breaker for a minute and powered on and it was fine. This may not have been the ovens fault more like electricity supply spike or brownout. Reports of element failures can be from damp elements etc tripping also not the ovens fault. Would buy again and we have both been very happy as all up this oven/stove would have cooked approx 5000 individual meals. Cakes, pies, roasts, steamed veggies, pasta, baked vegetables, hot breakfasts, etc cooked thoroughly and evenly . YUM.
Just out of warranty and litterly went bang – Came with a house well built. Worked well until just out of warranty then heard a bang and circut breaker tripped. Fan and lights runs. Will not heat. Electrolux won't service it as i was told they don't look after there own products with a gas connection. Be warry of after sale support. Show details

Noisy and seems too cold (everything takes longer to cook) – Oven was part of our new house 20 months ago. When the oven is turned on the noise from it is so loud and annoying, all of the trays and gas cook tops vibrate and rattle - hard to hear anything else in the kitchen. Thought it must have been a cheap (included with house) model, but after reading other reviews I guess it should be better. Oven also… Read more
takes too long to cook everything so we believe it's is inaccurate with its temperature!! Cook top is very good - shame oven lets it down.
Terrible Wok Burner Just Stews the Food – We use the Wok an enormous amount in our cooking, pleased with the stove until we first used the Wok. For an "Intense Heat Wok Burner" it is next to useless, it just stews the food. We've had the jet checked and it is as it should be. The 20 year old old bench top we through out was far better. Contacted Westinghouse customer service but have had no response Be very careful with purchasing this brand. Show details

Broken after 6 months – We got this oven when we built our house and after 6 months it's broken already!!!! Big oven but not enough heat! – I love the size of my double free standing oven, however the oven takes a long time to get hot and never really quite gets hot enough. The gas hotplates are excellent and I'd never go back to induction or ceramic after having them installed. right temperature. It is a very stylish looking oven that suits my needs most of the time, especially when we have big family gatherings.
Lost Digital disply – I was happy with this oven until the led panel just stopped working. Have read many similar reviews with this problem. The oven is now really not useable as I have no timer no control no temperature light. Also difficult to clean in between front controls. Are they abe to be taken off? Show details
Not working after a few months – Initially very happy but after only a few months we started having issues. We use the oven only a couple times per week so definitely not excessive use. Now the oven will switch itself off mid baking. Will make use of warranty but won't be considering this brand again that's for certain. Show details

Fantastic oven – BIG TIP for these ovens. Not many people use the wok burner so go to Bunnings and buy a Gas Mate 41cm x 25cm grill plate.. cook multiple steaks, lots of marinated chicken breasts, bacon and eggs on a Sunday bloody fantastic use of the Wok burner.... oven works like a charm with cakes and roasts and the stove uses very little gas. bottles and 3 months in I am only 1/2 a bottle down with a family of 4. Oh last thing to make cleaning easy I use 3 sheets of foil with holes cut around the jets. Replace it every week and saves a lot of cleaning every time you use it.. have fun.
Make sure the grill is the one for 2/3 burner BBQ as it has no oil drain holes.
Great unit – Really happy with the oven and cooker. My wife and I are very satisfied with the unit after much agony over which one to buy. We replaced our Technika piece of garbage. Locally made so parts are readily available in Australia. Oven cooking is even and gas stove works well every time. Clock and timer functions are very convenient. Buying experience at HN was not pleasant. Show details
HUGE design fault! Can never be cleaned and no customer help – There is no way the top of the oven (above the element) can ever be cleaned. Clips which hold the element have been welded into place so the element cannot hinge down to clean above it. Forget about using the griller as you will never be able to clean above it. Show details

We looked at them all, and Westinghouse has come home with the goods – It does what it says on the box, looks great, cooks food perfectly. Dual fans are first class. My wife and i agonised over stoves, we had to replace our 16 year old Saint George dual fuel. So we started looking and we looked at them all, prices starting from double the cost of the Westinghouse, none came up to the Westinghouse, we thought what… Read more · 1
is the catch????
Here is a oven for half the price of its nearest competition???
So we thought about it, we were lucky though, we have about 4 other Westinghouse stoves and ovens in other properties and can not recall any issues with them.
So we bought the cooker.
We are so happy with it.
Well done Westinghouse/Electrolux.

NOT HAPPY!!!!!! – After saving forever and buying the new Westinghouse Oven WFE914SA and being recommended it by Good Guys the oven is not working now and the fan is not even moving I can't believe the oven would break down after such a short period of time........... I have a cheap CHEF one for about 8 years and cooked in it regularly without any problems so disappointed and feeling ripped off after spending $2000 Show details

So glad we picked this Oven, very happy so far – So far the oven has performed well, ive been able to make a moist cake, a crispy roast and a perfectly cooked quiche, it's a slightly faster oven than i am used to but I have just watched what is cooking more carefully. I was very apprehensive about buying a new oven and spent months deciding and looked at plenty of reviews so am relieved that… Read more
it performs so well.
One thing I would say is that the simmer on the gas top is a little high, other than that very happy with our purchase and would recommend it!
Love it – This a great a great cooker. It has gas burners and electric oven. Love to cook and able to bake 2 cakes at once. The gas cooktop has different burners for all types of cooking and making several dishes at once is a breeze. It is easy to use and keep clean and looks good. Great value for money.
Hate it! Don't buy – This oven was complete crap. Burnt my cookies cooked them uneven and compare to my other ovens this was way worse. Trust me it did this with every dinner and my friends have said the same!! Dissapointed but I hope they improve because I love supporting them!! I hate writing hate comments but it's horrid.

I love this thing – I've had 3 ovens over the last 3 months and by far this is just Awesome I love everything about it Just makes me want too cook! It cooks so well its a dream.... I would recommend this to anyone looking for a cooker! Everything about it is simple to use
This is imperfect and I can live without one (model and brand) – PCB gets damage , loosing time hard to find parts as is made of some Vulcan parts . Is an expensive product made with the cheapest parts Vulcan and Electrolux. Hard to clean and maintain that way. I do not recommend to anyone . Mine is 18 mth old allready replace PCB and heating elements

Has turned me into Betty Crocker :-) – I settled on this model after reading numerous reviews on various makes and models. Encouraged by others to purchase a European model, purely for house resale value, I was quickly put off by some of the reviews (on this site and others). The Westinghouse duel fuel Model: WFE914SA is excellent. The electric oven is extremely reliable. If a… Read more
recipe states that something takes x number of minutes, it takes x number of minutes. The duel fan system ensures even cooking. No more burnt offerings!
I found the gas cooktop a bit difficult to get right, initially. If I am cooking something and I need it to then simmer, I move it from one of the larger gas rings to a smaller one, so that I can control the simmering better. For some people, that might be considered a negative. However, I don't mind doing it.
There is a fancier version of this oven, with electronic controls, but I took into consideration another reviewer's comments about having to 'cycle through' the different programs to find the one he / she wanted, so I opted for the this one.
Close But No Cigar – I chose this oven specifically for my needs as a massive preserving maniac and our love of entertaining. I particularly wanted a large burner in the middle of the cook top to sit my massive boilers/canners on in safety. The wok burner fits the bill perfectly though I have to do some turning on and off to maintain a preserving temperature but I can… Read more
live with that. The varied size burners and positioning is also very good and with proper adjustment and correct use of burner size to vessel I have found I can definitely achieve a simmer contrary to many reviewers experiences.
Reasonably easy to keep clean with quick wipe overs and the finger-print proofing claim also seems to stack up. I love the storage compartment underneath for biscuit trays and muffin tins. I'm not wrapped in the knob design as there is quite a bit of bending required to check burner selection and temperature. I would design this to be visible from the top eg. rotate the temp markings around. The actual knob tends to obscure the temperature positioning especially the oven dial. The most commonly used temp of 180C is very hard to locate without getting almost down on one's haunches to check. I find the LCD panel for pre-setting and timer a bit frustrating. It takes a few hits to get it to register to a mode required and given that the timer feature is probably the most used, I would have made this the first go-to on the panel. The timer alert is good and loud.
I feel reasonably safe with my grandson around as the front of the oven remains quite cool during operation however I find it nearly impossible to open the oven without getting a searing blast of air in the face, something I never experienced with my previous fan oven that had rear venting. I find it quite awkward to bend opening the oven door yet avert my face far enough away. The two fans ensure good heat distribution and the the options for control are quite versatile. Friday night is always pizza night and we have given it a good workout on this setting and happy with the results.
I will tell you though that it had a thermostat fault in the oven from day one and I had to wait a month before a technician could come and replace the part AND I had to pay their travel. Not something I think I should be liable for on a brand new appliance. Despite a very poor start I am finding it a good versatile cooker albeit with some minor design frustrations that aren't make or break, just FYI
Fabulous oven – We did extensive research on which 90cm free standing oven to buy. Lots of our friends said "Miele" or "Bosch" but the reviews weren't that great. The Westinghouse WFE914SA has been wonderful. The options for the oven ensure roasts or biscuits or whatever are cooked perfectly. back) so the oven will use different elements for different cooking. I have achieved perfectly cooked pork crackling!
The gas burners are terrific. I'm not sure why people have complained about the simmer option - it works a treat for us.
There are two issues - one is a biggie and one is minor.
The biggie: These ovens now require a flexible hose connection kit (part number ACC064) if you are going to use a flexible hose to connect to the gas pipe (which nearly everyone will need). BUT the connection kit is NOT included with the oven. How dumb is that? Apart from having to spend another $47 on the kit, it also meant a wasted trip by my gas plumber which cost me an extra $110. Westinghouse - if you read this - I am very unhappy about this.
The minor: Part of the stainless steel trays were bent. I called Westinghouse Customer Service and they sent new ones out within 2 days. Fabulous customer service.
But it is a wonderful cooker!
VERY HAPPY – Hi all, I am fortunate enough to own a freestanding Westinghouse gas oven and stove. I don't really write reviews, but this time I make an exception. I absolutely love this appliance, the oven is huge, cooks evenly. Stove as well not problem at all. Looks great, money well spent. Love it, if you are confused and don't know what brand to choose, consider WESTINGHOUSE.
Some silly design faults – Overall design good, plenty of room for a number of big pans but impossible to simmer.Very even cooking in the oven. Not so pleased with the knob to select oven temperature which has a wide black stripe you turn to the desired temperature which is indicated by a tiny dot. Wide black stripe could perhaps be an arrow with a point to line up with the… Read more
temp. Also, you have to bend quite a long way to see the dots under the knob, annoying and not easy for everyone. Plenty of light in oven but it is mostly blocked by the grill trays. Perhaps lights could be on sides of oven rather than top.
Ok but 1 burner wont work 4 months still waiting for someone to look at it - Zero communication – This seems to work ok - 1 burner is a small trouble to light and 1 just wont light. Its been 4 months since we moved into a new house- The builder - clarendon took 4 weeks to get on to this. Finally we were told Electrolux are too busy before xmas on Dec 11 (ironically 2 months to the day after we got the stove) , the installer would return on… Read more
Jan 12. Ok 3 months- Waited jan 12 - Nothing- No call- no service - nothing - Thanks for nothing and wasting a work day- Our builder apologized and said they would call the 13th- Nothing - The builder called twice on the 14th to check electrolucx had called to at least give a date- Nope - Nothing - Sent me email showing there correspondence- NO Service OCCURRING - I just hope the stove doesn't break to the point we cant use it- Obviously your warranty isn't important- One third of the warranty period has gone and part of the stove has NEVER worked.
Poorly designed temperature controls – I bought this oven last month when my 10-year-old Baumatic cooker died. Whilst this oven works perfectly well, the temperature adjustment system is ridiculous! To change the temperature once the oven is on you have to change the function setting and cycle through all 10 options before returning to the previously chosen setting, and then change the… Read more
temperature!!? Foolishness indeed! Surely Westinghouse could have either made another touch button or used 2 existing buttons to trigger the temperature adjustment function. Not good enough. For an oven which is otherwise really simple to use this is VERY irritating.
UPDATE - I had a very helpful response from 1 reader who provided me with a simple solution and it works wonderfully now.
Almost Perfect - No low simmer – Have used this stove now for 12 months and I really like it. The oven is a breeze to use, the cooktop is roomy and convenient BUT even though our gas fitter turned the jets down as far as they would go, they won't simmer. I have to use a saucepan 3 times the size I need to stop it boiling over. If Westinghouse had a way to slow the gas output down… Read more
it would be perfect. I did phone Westinghouse and talked with a young lady who didn't seem that interested, which surprised me as Westinghouse customer service is usually fairly good. So I give this stove 4 stars instead of 5 because of the difficulty in simmering.
UPDATE 6/07/16 It has just been brought to my attention by Dazza1971 that it is possible to control the simmer by turning the dial very slowly from HIGH towards the OFF position until you reach the low degree of simmer you need, it really works, it makes it so much better.
NOW a note to Westinghouse, why can't you start the oven temp dial at the top which would put the common heat settings between 150 and 200 degrees in plain sight rather than at the bottom of the dial where you need to turn yourself upside down to find the exact setting you need. That would make it perfect.
