Absolute nightmare!!!!! – DO NOT PURCHASE one of these Ovens ever!! We got this oven with our build and one month out of warranty it started to blow the power... Contacted Westinghouse (Electrolux) and was told sorry its just out of warranty and plus we don't do call outs to ovens with GAS as they are not qualified to service them?! Found that strange as its their own… Read more

appliance's and they can't work on them!! Have since had 3 difference service techs out 2 which had no idea what is wrong with it and the last one saying its the 2 computer boards, yes not one but both as well as the internal light bayonet with can't be fixed as its integrated into the oven... Hence never having a light in the oven again which seems impossible to cook and watch the food inside. Have since re contacted Electrolux to try and get them to please look at this as now 5 months since this process started and was told they don't service my area and to contact another 3rd party who I did and were most helpful HOWEVER also no longer assist with repairs or assessments with ovens with GAS.... so will now be looking at taking this matter to ACCC and telling EVERYONE PLEASE DO NOT BUY A WESTINGHOUSE OVEN because as much as I thought they were brilliant and excellent quality its not the case and if there is an issue NO ONE SEEMS TO BE ABLE TO OR WANT TO HELP!!!!! PS the oven is still broken!!

Broken after 6 months – We got this oven when we built our house and after 6 months it's broken already!!!! It started changing cooking settings by itself while cooking and then started turning itself off while cooking now it won't turn on at all and stuck in safe mode Very disappointed with this product Westinghouse is supposed to be a good brand  Show details

Not working after a few months – Initially very happy but after only a few months we started having issues. We use the oven only a couple times per week so definitely not excessive use. Now the oven will switch itself off mid baking. Will make use of warranty but won't be considering this brand again that's for certain.  Show details

HUGE design fault! Can never be cleaned and no customer help – There is no way the top of the oven (above the element) can ever be cleaned. Clips which hold the element have been welded into place so the element cannot hinge down to clean above it. Forget about using the griller as you will never be able to clean above it.  Show details

We looked at them all, and Westinghouse has come home with the goods – It does what it says on the box, looks great, cooks food perfectly. Dual fans are first class. My wife and i agonised over stoves, we had to replace our 16 year old Saint George dual fuel. So we started looking and we looked at them all, prices starting from double the cost of the Westinghouse, none came up to the Westinghouse, we thought what… Read more ·  1

is the catch????

Here is a oven for half the price of its nearest competition???

So we thought about it, we were lucky though, we have about 4 other Westinghouse stoves and ovens in other properties and can not recall any issues with them.

So we bought the cooker.

We are so happy with it.

Well done Westinghouse/Electrolux.

So glad we picked this Oven, very happy so far – So far the oven has performed well, ive been able to make a moist cake, a crispy roast and a perfectly cooked quiche, it's a slightly faster oven than i am used to but I have just watched what is cooking more carefully. I was very apprehensive about buying a new oven and spent months deciding and looked at plenty of reviews so am relieved that… Read more

it performs so well.

One thing I would say is that the simmer on the gas top is a little high, other than that very happy with our purchase and would recommend it!

This is imperfect and I can live without one (model and brand) – PCB gets damage , loosing time hard to find parts as is made of some Vulcan parts . Is an expensive product made with the cheapest parts Vulcan and Electrolux. Hard to clean and maintain that way. I do not recommend to anyone . Mine is 18 mth old allready replace PCB and heating elements

Poorly designed temperature controls – I bought this oven last month when my 10-year-old Baumatic cooker died. Whilst this oven works perfectly well, the temperature adjustment system is ridiculous! To change the temperature once the oven is on you have to change the function setting and cycle through all 10 options before returning to the previously chosen setting, and then change the… Read more

temperature!!? Foolishness indeed! Surely Westinghouse could have either made another touch button or used 2 existing buttons to trigger the temperature adjustment function. Not good enough. For an oven which is otherwise really simple to use this is VERY irritating.

UPDATE - I had a very helpful response from 1 reader who provided me with a simple solution and it works wonderfully now.

Oven Faulty- customer service no good – I had my brand new WFE916SA installed by my plumber last Friday. I was so excited after reading the excellent reviews. When we switched the oven on using the touch-panel, it made a pop noise inside the oven somewhere then went dead. The oven had tripped the circuit breaker. I inspected the circuit (I am an electrical engineer) and confirm no… Read more

faults with the household wiring, so phoned Westinghouse/Electrolux.

A "service technician" arrived the next day by himself to look at the oven. It was a good thing I was home, as there is no way he would have been able to lift the oven out from the cabinetry without me without destroying my flooring. He also didn't take his shoes off in my house!

The "service technician" could not identify the fault, and said that it wasn't fair on me if he pulled the oven to bits, and told me that he would arrange a new one for me.

After 4 days of no contact, I phoned Electrolux to enquire. They told me that the service report stated "no fault found" and that I could have a second opinion if I liked!!

What a joke!

I told my story, and was told I would be called back.

I wasn't.

I phoned again today, and was met by a very rude customer service rep who proceded to tell me that the oven would not be replaced, and that the fan is all that needs adjusting. This is just wrong!

They expect me to now take another day off work, let them into my house, and then have them not fix it AGAIN because it is a hard short circuit!

I again phoned, and after 10 minutes on hold, I was hung up from their end.

It looks like I need to go to Consumer Affairs.

Amazing! – I was very concerned at buying this brand however after owning other European brands and reading nightmare reviews I am so totally delighted with my decision. Cooking is my passion and I only installed this oven/gas cooktop a week ago. So far I couldn't be happier! It out performs every stove I have previously used, even those high priced Gucci… Read more ·  1

brands. The gas hot plates ignite first time, the range from high to low is sensitive, achieving a slow simmer easily. It's performance is equal to its highly impressive looks. I couldn't be happier although I still need to bake a few more things to thoroughly test the oven functions. I would buy this stove at a much higher price, incredible value!

Great Oven – After 7 years loyal service we replaced our 7 year old Westinghouse model (only had to replace oven element) with the new model. Chose this model due to extra features over lesser models. I prefer the wok burner to the side, not in middle so you can use other burners as well. LCD oven control is great. The unit was converted to LPG when installed… Read more

using the parts supplied - easy.

Only set up issues with this unit from new was the following but the manual addresses these.

1/ The front RH side burner would not work. After checking the gas jet that was replaced with the LPG conversion still no luck. Removed the jet and swapped with the front middle burner jet and then it came to life. The air must have finally purged from the pipes, but it took a while.

2/ The burners on LOW were far to high. The control fascia panel was removed to expose the by-pass screw on each burner control cock. By adjusting this valve clockwise reduces the low flame - prefect result.

This stove is excellent, looks great and works perfect.

Recommended.

Love my new oven – I love my new oven (it's a WFE916SA). I used to be a hotel executive chef for 4 - 5 star hotels so I wanted a good oven for home cooking. Previously I had another Italian brand but was disappointed in it right from when it arrived. However the Westinghouse oven heats up fast, cooks evenly, and has a good variety of functions for different uses.… Read more

Love how the oven remains cool to touch on the outside even when I am running it at 225 for roasting. Also seems to cook pastries evenly, my daughter just baked a batch of melting moments perfectly and she is 15 years old. The gas stove top also puts out lots of heat on the big gas ring but has a good range of sizes so simmering is not a problem for domestic pots.

I am really enjoying cooking at home again!

Consider other Brands before Purchasing WFE916SA – Purposely bought this oven for the six burner option. The front right (and largest size burner, except for the wok burner) does not ignite. My wife has had Electrolux out twice to repair and the service technician was dismissive of my wife's report of the faulty use. I have become increasingly frustrated by the claims from the technician that we… Read more

are not depressing the knob long enough, or depressing the knob hard enough. I am hopeful of the third attempt to have this rectified by Electrolux otherwise the technician can load it into his truck.

The product was purchased in April 2014 and continues to be unreliable - to such a point, that we do not use that burner anymore - purely to avoid any frustrations.

The trivets are also a rough texture which easily scratch any pot or plate surface. When heated they discolour unevenly and look rather dirty.

While we can manage our cooking both cooktop and oven, I don't see why I should accept 5 of 6 burners to work. Aside from the above the oven works as expected/described.

Great Features...but – I bought the WFE916A in February 2013 and have a few problems with it. It was replaced (much to the credit of Westinghouse) but recently I have had a problem where the front RHS burner has been giving problems. Occasionally it seems to get very loud and the flame changes in colour to blue with orange tips. Westinghouse came out about a month ago… Read more

and had a look at it and said it was sand in the injector. Then this week the same problem occurred but this time I heard a "bang" from the front burner. I have spoken to Westinghouse about it and they have arranged to have a service guy come out next week. My partner refuses to use the stove top and has become paranoid about the cooktop. Large Oven, Electronic controls Display could be bigger, more sturdy racks

Love this oven – I've had this oven now for eight months, It replaced a Glem dual fuel of the same size. The Westinghouse is far superior with better insulation, burners are more powerful and easier to adjust from high to a low simmer. The oven functions and fast heat up are fantastic, I've never had any uneven browning. The one piece oven interior and catalytic… Read more

liners make cleaning super quick and easy. The front panel and oven door have a special anti finger mark coating and the exterior of triple glazed door never gets hot. It has several timer functions including delayed start and auto switch off. This Westinghouse oven was the same price as the old Glem bought in 2006 what a bargain! Great value & Aussie Made!
