Useless Westinghouse – We bought a WTM2000WC fridge about 2014. The first one failed within a few weeks. Got the repair man (through Westinghouse) who said he had fixed it. Failed again. They gave us a new fridge. So we had lost two lots of food worth around $500. Our current fridge is badly designed so that we can't store much in it and it freezes stuff in the fridge… Read more
area every now and then so ongoing loss of products over the years. Also, the compartment on the side door does not fit a standard 2 litre milk container - it pops out every now and then. Stupidly we bought a Westinghouse extractor range hood (WRJ611U) Doesn't extract much. Also the light in it failed within the first month. I am now off to buy another fridge and rangehood by a decent brand. Never again Westinghouse.
Westinghouse Fridge Freezer Model WTM2000WC – Agree with all the other people who bought one of these. A customer of ours got us to look at this fridge. Built in defrost element, gone, can't be replaced. Absolute shame and a waste of resources, a class acction should be started against all manufacturers for manufacturing and importing rubbish. Looks good but doesn't last. Show details
A lemon since we bought it – This has been a lemon since we bought it in 12/11/2010. It freezes up the drinks in the fridge area even on the lowest setting. The freezer area has failed again today, now twice, both times losing hundreds of dollars of very good quality meats. I used to think Westinghouse fridges were the best, no more. Show details
Works well – This is a very quiet running fridge. It keeps all areas of the fridge at a constant temperature. It is very easy to keep clean and has plenty of space for all things needed to be kept cold. I keep soft drinks, milk and dairy products in the door and they are always cold. I have owned Westinghouse brand for many years and have always been happy with them Show details
Please don't buy this one – We own a small holiday resort and have bought many Westinghouse fridges over the years with no problems at all. All the ones we purchased in the past 2 years (model WTM2000WC) have failed. I have been told this is because they are now manufactured overseas. Within a short time they start making a loud noise and then they loose cooling.
Don't even think about it. Utter rubbish – I bought this for my mum in 2012. It never properly worked. Straight from the beginning. It looks okay, but it doesn't keep things cold. I had a repair man come and had to pay over $150 for it to be repaired. That was six months ago and now it is broken again. I just want to pay someone else to take it from me. The horrible troubles it has… Read more
caused.
A fridge should not break down so soon. it should last for years.
Whatever you do, don't buy this fridge.
Mine was mostly reliable – Was working fine for just over two years before the fridge stopped being cool. I didn't want to pay the service fee so searched online and followed some guides to find the defrost timer failed, ordered a new part and hopefully it keeps going. If I ended up paying another $200-250 to repair I would be annoyed though.
What a lemon! – I have had the unfortunate experience of this fridge model twice now - in one instance a friend gave up and purchased a brand new fridge from a different manufacturer - and I have just done the same thing myself after inheriting the fridge at less than two years of age. As noted by others the temperature in this model does not stay constant - in… Read more
either fridge or freezer - the coil design interacting from behind the freezer is atrocious - to maintain airflow to keep it clear the 50 litre freezer capacity is reduced to less than 20! Out the door it goes.
This fridge is definately a lemon – How in this day and age does a fridge with such poor quality make it to shop floors. Less than 12 months from purchase, it has lately twice frozen up within a month of manually defrosting. Once frozen up the fridge stops cooling. The freezer doesn't even properly freeze 'icey poles' placed in the door shelf. I live 2 hours from the place of… Read more
purchase which makes it a loss for repairs or even returning it....Not happy...lift your game Westinghouse!
Huge disappointment – I purchased this fridge new in May 2013, to use as a spare fridge in our garage. From the start we had trouble with it. Ice cream did not freeze on the cold to colder setting. The service repair person came and suggested turning the thermostat to the highest setting (coldest). The ice cream froze properly in the freezer, and the food and… Read more
drinks in the fridge section promptly froze as well. Within 20 months the fridge completely broke down. By the time I found my receipt and warranty card I had missed the 2 year warranty deadline. How annoying! I have noticed this model fridge appear on websites for sale as 'refurbished'.
Avoid!

The worse fridge I have every had and this is the 3rd one. Its a lemon – The same thing goes wrong every time the freezer, freezers up and the fridge is warm. They say it is the timer that is the problem. They replaced the first 2 fridges under warranty, which was still a hassle with the time waiting for the repair man to come and then for him to tell me the same thing is wrong, and then for him to put in the request… Read more
for a replacement, but yes I got a new fridge 2 weeks later. but who's going to pay for the bookings I am going to lose because I have accommodation business and guests expect there fridge to work when they arrive.
Guess what the 3rd fridge has just broken down with the same problem and it is 5 weeks out of warranty and Customer service said its not there problem and I will have to pay for it to get fixed. I hope Electrolux reads this comment and realize I feel I have been let down and they have poor customer service and this fridge model is a lemon.

Not reliable at all – This model is terrible as it has not been reliable. Frequent trips to a repair shop. Luckily it is still under warranty but when you have to drive 1.5 hours for repair, it is a terrible experience. I think that the company did not do proper quality management on the production. There are many fridges made overseas but they work very well.

Wish I had seen review before buying – Well well well, our 14 month old fridge also freezes everything, from cheese to potatoes and as above everything with moisture. The service guys have replaced the thermostat 3 times and advised us to not use the shelves where the cold air comes from, so therefore we would use half of the fridge. Now going to the Good Guys to have it NOT replaced but money refunded.

Total and utter crap freezes everything in the refridgerator have thrown out so much food – I bought the fridge from Good guys Alexandria. The fridge froze all my vegetables, fetta cheese, anything that has moisture in it. Electrolux, owners of Westinghouse, sent out a serviceman who told me I was stacking the fridge wrongly. I never heard of this reason for a fridge before he told me I had to put all the vegetables in the crisper which… Read more
isn't big enough for all the veggies I eat. He put the control on the fridge to the lowest setting and it still froze all my vegetables.
After countless attempts to get my money back both from Good guys or from Electrolux I have been given the runaround by both companies. Electrolux sent the same service person along again who then said the fridge needed a new thermostat. They gave me a service receipt. I said that I wanted my money back. I took Good guys to fair trading tribunal wanting evidence from electrolux that they have sent a service person who had admitted that the fridge was faulty no such luck. They say that they dont want to get involved and all their information is for internal use only.
I was told fridge was made in Australia by the sales rep in Goodguys but after I bought the fridge and realised it was a dud I was told that model was made in china. I would not buy from either company again. waste of time money and sanity.
