Office Manager and PM were excellent, they had always replied to our emails very promptly. We had very regular site inspections at our suitable times say about 7:00 AM in the mornings.

If ever was to build another home will sure go with WDC & same Project Manager (now GM). They have best landscaping team too.

If you know what you want then this is the team to go to. Please note builders are no psychic's, they can't read our minds or read our dream home vision.

Terrible Experience - Most Untrustworthy Builder – We have the same story of $150k rise on the fixed price contract. After delaying months and months because of HOW they come up with $150k rise. I observed all the positive reviews of WD&C are not under verified purchase. So beware friends!

If pricing was a concern, they should have told us earlier prior to DA Approval and signing a contract so that either we could negotiate an acceptable pricing or we would have down scaled the plans and inclusions.

You can imagine the state we are in, where if we are to change the drawings, then we have to do submit another application for DA Approval.

They even went to an extent of getting 5% deposit out of us without issuing Home Owner's Warranty which we have come to know that they are not supposed to do that.

They may have been good some years back, but recently they have put some of their clients in serious emotional and financial stress. Anyone considering them as their builder should be careful.

by [Name removed] who I guess is now the new sales manager that they have been building houses at a loss.

In short, like others here, we were originally quoted a fixed price contract. We had plans drawn up, contour surveys done, inclusions finalised and were ready to sign the contract, but today we were told that we had been "misquoted" and that to complete our build they would need to increase the cost by $220,000! Yes that's right they are claiming our build was underquoted by $220k!

In addition to this, I can say that we have experienced other constant issues as well but we put up with them. Our calls and emails were regularly not returned or replied to, we had to ask for constant revisions to our plans as things were not fixed the first time round and attempts were made to change the dimensions of our house and level of inclusions without consultation with us etc.

We started getting concerned over the last few months as they began to have difficulty getting Home Owners Warranty Insurance but never thought it would be this bad! Those on here who have actually signed contracts with this builder without being provided with a Home Owners Warranty Certificate please get some legal advise as I believe it was illegal for the builder to do this.

Anyone considering this builder PLEASE steer clear. They are extremely unprofessional, have non existent customer service and have been deceptive with us. As I mentioned above, I was told today by them that they have been building houses at a loss. Their ongoing issues with obtaining Home Owners Warranty and now sudden attempts to up numerous contract prices gives me a really bad feeling that they may have issues with their finances. Please look elsewhere and save the heartache.

I have maintained detailed contemporaneous notes of meetings and phone calls as well as an extensive email history. If anyone wishes to look over in detail how we have been treated by this builder please feel free to PM me. well known project builders. But it was a bit difficult with large project builders to make changes in their pre designed plans. Even if they agree the cost of making changes were astronomical. However, building process with WDC from the beginning was about what we "want" rather than what WDC can "build".

We outlined our requirements during initial meetings with WDC. The team at WDC seriously reviewed our suggestions and proposed the design exactly matching with our requirements. The list of inclusions was also altered to appropriately cater to our requirements however the overall cost of the project was maintained at a reasonable level. We are presently half way through our building process and are immensely satisfied with the personalized service delivered to us. The support staff is courteous, helpful and normally respond to our queries promptly.

initial stage of drawing up plans etc... was a little slow (i would recommend getting your own architect to draw up your plans if you are doing a custom build). Once the build began the process was quite fast (our friends house was built in 13 weeks) ours took a little longer with the Christmas break but still faster than the other builders. There were mistakes along the way which is to be expected but they were always rectified straight away with no questions asked, The Sales Manager was amazing, how she replys to emails so fast with so many houses to manage amazed me! I would email her 11pm on the weekend and she would respond. For me customer service and communication was super important and i would recommend that you need to be hands on throughout the build as they are a smaller company and are probably not as organised as some of the larger builders but for me i was happy to be involved and at the end of the day we have a beautiful house with inclusions we could not have afforded with another builder. there has been a few wrinkles on the way, but were swiftly sorted out by WDC.

First the good things: (4.5 stars out of 5)

1. People at WDC are really friendly and are quite accommodating.

2. Their inclusions are the best in the market.

3. They have a good grasp on the council regulations, so there were not many back and forth of the plans for council approval.

4. When we needed a structure, which they have never done before, they worked the technicalities out and readily completed the structure to our satisfaction.

5. Once they started the project, the house was up really quickly and efficiently.

6. The changes we needed made during the building process were readily accepted and made.

7. If and when they find a better material to the one included at comparable prices, they did not hesitate to update to that material.

Things that could be done better: (3.5 stars out of 5)

2. Things could be better explained, some things need to be explicitly stated upfront rather than leaving the client to guess or assume

The bad (1 star out of 5)

1. The tiler. If you could help, insist on some tiler other than the currently used Adorn. If not, be wary of the tiler. Be alert and check every little thing, get samples and sizes of every selection you make. Their business ethics and integrity is a little dubious. Prepared to be ripped off even if you blink. We had been too trusting to our own good.

and actually starting due to council and the registration of the land. Once this had been completed, everything started. The selections are great, only a few minor extras (which wasn't as costly as some of the other building companies) and the finishes are amazing. We were very surprised at how quickly these guys get things done. Especially when you see and hear about the process and time with other people.

I am sure we haven't always been easy to deal with (with the billion of emails, calls and questions) but it has never been a problem. Everyone at WD&C has always responded quickly to us and have always been so willing to help. We cannot thank them enough for dealing with us and my Dad!

We are now in the final stages of the build and due to have handover within a week. As everyone else probably does, we have been going out and checking the progress almost everyday! We are in love with everything. It is amazing to see what you designed and had written on paper come to life. We wouldn't of been able to build our dream home without these guys.

The standard packages you get with this builder is extras with any other builder. after asking a question and the staff are always happy to meet with us whenever we request. If anyone has spoken with the sales rep u would know that she does not stop working! She is flat out day and night, I have received emails at 9pm a few times just to answer my questions and some people on here are complaining about bad customer service!!!! Like I said YES we have had a few issues and i wont dwell on them as they have been resolved and were resolved rather fast but overall its not that bad. White had a list of inclusions that was greater then any other company I had looked at and for a price that was within my budget. I have moved into my house a week ago and it is everything I imagined. The process of getting to where I am now has been amazing. I am a shift worker and White have been more then accommodating. Emails were the best form of communication and they were replied to almost immediately. The crew at White assisted me in every way I needed and I found them all to be polite, informative and approachable.

Many people have come into my house since I moved in and have no bad comments to say at all. People have been surprised by the features of my home and the inclusions. People were very surprised to see things such as blinds, landscaping and even a clothesline included. People also commented on how quickly my house was completed. I would certainly use White when I build again, I would recommend them to anyone and after telling people my experience several people have stated they would certainly consider them.

You see their inclusions list and friendly facade is used to bait you into signing. They soon become passive aggressive and before you know it, downright in your face rude.

I will admit we were being a bit picky about our choices and mostly settling for the standard inclusions due to our limited budget (not upgrading items). This was probably frustrating them but they are a small builder so shouldn’t they be happy to offer more value for customers than the bigger builders?

To their credit they will build your home very quickly. You will wonder how they manage this impressive feat… until you see the dodgy workmanship. Upon notifying faults in their poor workmanship they get very hostile and defensive. There is always a lack of urgency when you need them to follow up on anything. However when it is time to give them the cheque for the next stage of the building process they love asking (demanding) for (protection) money. I don’t want to go into specifics about their ways and all the things that went wrong but we are very upset with our house. We do not want this experience for others and therefore warning others to avoid their tentacles.

As a closing I would like to say a tip. Please use independent inspectors to check the building at every stage which is something we should have done. It will cost more but you will get peace of mind. They build quickly. Their inclusions list. A nightmare to deal with. Extremely Rude. Terrible Workmanship. Harrasment.

The builders have been great- we have been getting fortnightly updates on what to excpect for the next fortnight which we think is great and if we email them, we have a response within minutes. Being first time builders we had no idea where to start. We had an initial appointment with WD&C and they basically designed us a house exactly what we wanted. After checking out the awesome inclusion list we had a feeling our budget was going to be blown out but we were pleasantly surprised. As we had no idea what wew were doing, the staff at WD&C were great in taking us through each step when and helping us through some of the decisions we had to make.

We had our doubts they would finish the build in the amazing time in our contract but they did with weeks to spare and the end result was fantastic. The best part is that with the WD&C package included all blinds, fences, driveways, grass, landscaping so we moved in with nothing to do but unpack. Maybe thats just one of the reasons why building with WD&C is stress free.

The Sales and the Admin staff are passionate, great to communicate and are very quick in their replies over emails. A good customer service is what differentiates WD&C from other big builders.

Once we got the DA from the council, things started moving fairly quickly. Despite of the wet weather conditions and the 1 month industry Christmas holidays the house was ready within the stipulated time frame.

When you see the house being constructed brick by brick you think to yourself what is it going to look like once its ready. However it has all fallen in place and the end result looks great.

Now we have moved in and the house looks fabulous with quality building and fitting. Also the after sales service is quite good and the turn-around time is quick for urgent issues.

We are very happy with the construction and love the house. The overall experience was great and a smooth sail.

We have met the owner, Darren White, personally a few times and he was willing to listen and cater to our needs. There are always unanticipated problems as ours is a custom build, however, the builder has been great to sort out any issues fairly early along the way without any hesitation which showed their professionalism and commitment to do the right thing by their clients.

The communication we had with them is excellent specially with the sales manager and her team as we cannot expect anything better. We are really happy with the progress and excited to see the finished product. We will post another update once everything is completed and we have the keys to our dream home. WD&C and in particular the Sales Manager has gone above and beyond our expectations to asssit us on starting our building process. Nothing has been too much trouble for us, we are exceptionally organised people and WD&C have been on the ball the whole time, keeping us up to date and exceeding all of our expectations with regards to contact, assistance and inclusions quality.

Our house is almost at lock up stage and everything has gone so quickly and relatively smoothly, mother nature causing us the most issues.
