Don't buy this Dreame D9. It has bumper collision jamming issues – If you see this message please do not buy this product. I bought Xiaomi dreame D9 brand new and it stopped working less than 1 month due to front bumper collision issues and cannot be resolved. Avoided Xiaomi Dreame D9 at all cost. Worked well for nearly 10 months until 3 lights flashing – We were very happy when first using the robot. It simply did the job. However, one day in the 10th month, it stopped working. 24/10/2022, the warranty period had just been expired. Supporter told us to communicate with the seller (Dick Smith) and refused further assistant. We are very disappointed about support and could not believe the robot cannot survive for a year.

Best thing – I am very happy with my purchase, money well spent. I have a 1 yr old so the robot vacuum is very helpful in removing dust every now and then as I have got no time doing it. We even turn it on while we have dinner on the dining and we let it do its thing in the living area.
Exactly what I was expecting!!! – Does the job very efficiently. Modes like slient to turbo depending on your needs, mops good aswell. Saves the room map for future easy access. ALEXA works with on/off. Very happy with the purchase. We use it on daily basis. Love it!!!

Xiaomi Dreame D9 has impressive features and powerful suction – I have carpeted rooms, wooden floor kitchen and tiled bath. especially if goes under bed or sofa 4. Good price with higher hardware specs 5. Works like a charm if all obstacles are removed 6. Tile, as well as the wooden floor, is easy to traverse 7. When stuck notifies via mobile app and makes a sound at the device level 8. Laser mapping works well and is very accurate 9. Can be scheduled and virtual walls or restricted feature area works well once the mapping is complete 10. Totally removes the carpet wool formed over time reducing chances of dust stay in it.
Dislikes: 1. Battery life is a disappointment 46sqm and 49minutes it went from full charge to requires charging(90% carpet area - Standard clean mode with carpet boost on). Nowhere near to on paper specifications Edited: Battery improves on followup cleanings but still remains under 100 minutes of working time 2. Dark rug (on top of carpet) in the lounge seems to be a problem. D9 keeps getting stuck on it even though it has 5mm height but while trying to move on to rug from carpet it has largely given me errors ranging from clean the sensors to change position because stuck Edited: Dreame representative confirmed the issue with black rugs( very common with these devices). I found a solution by sticking cello/scotch/clear tape on the cliff sensors. If you have stairs at home recommend not doing this without virtual walls in place. Happy days for me. 3. When the main brush or dust bin gets detached, the device neither detects nor notifies. Adding to insult if I press clean without a main brush or bin attached D9 jumps into action. A big no-no Edited: Detection voice message may come up as an added feature. If the bin is detached, the vacuum won't work and ask to attach the bin but for the main brush, it won't wait.
I am happy with this robot vacuum performance and loving this little robot helping me out without getting out of bed. This is the third day of D9 use as well as the third and final update to my review on D9.
A suggestion: For the first time use, run it on the lowest power mode so the mapping can be done in one go.
Overall, it is a very good robot sold by Gearbite with very prompt delivery (2 days). Would have liked few additional brush and filter accessories to accompany. If you have tiles this would be a fantastic alternative. I would give this a miss if mapping reliability is a factor. But for the price it's tolerable
UPDATE: So Dreame have released a couple of firmware updates since this review. The robot now comes with a remote function that allows you to control where it sweeps (cool), it has an option for a tighter pattern when it mops (double cool), it also now offers to turn off the vacuum portion and just mop (uber cool). What's suprising is that they SEEM to have fixed the map corruption issue.
I'll see if the maps stick for a few months before making the ultimate call but I'm glad the biggest caveat is now solved.

UPDATE 2: The maps still get corrupted (not to the same degree) but you can restore the maps to a previous state within the app.

Only been using it for just over a week & Love it! – UPDATE: 2 Jan 2023. They seem to have done a few updates over the last couple of months and sadly it has trouble connecting to the home network or their network in China. I've never even tried the mopping feature since anyone understanding the physics in mopping would realise it's better to use this Vacuum to keep the place clean which means less rubbish being compressed into your floor while walking around the house. We've been doing renovations and this little fella has been doing a fantastic job keeping the place clean. I've got mind programmed to clean around our parrots cage 3 times a day, keeping it spotless and other parts are programmed for once a day cleaning.
The biggest surprise is it can clean the whole house and the battery is at 80%, So based on that, it could clean the house 5 times in one day! Only issue is my wife's long hairs, but I clean it every now and then and it's perfectly fine. The software takes some getting used to, but once you understand how it works, it's pretty good.
On another note, one of the questions on this review page is where the item was purchased from, however it looks like there is a drop down and you can only select from a list and the store I purchased mine from isn't actually listed.

them. Your floor must be perfectly clear. I had grand visions of setting the robot to vacuum the house as I leave, but I haven't once had it successfully do it without it getting tangled on something I've forgotten. This is entirely my fault, but it's just worth mentioning, you need to have everything very tidy before the D9 starts, and by that time you could have probably vacuumed the floor yourself. It alerts you when it's tangled, so its aware that it happens, so maybe an improvement could be that it puts everything in reverse and backs up in order to untangle itself, and perhaps better sensors could prevent it from inadvertently eating my shoelaces.
The mop attachment really only lightly dampens the floor. There's no scrubbing action and the mopping pad itself isn't particularly abrasive so i'm yet to see it actually clean a stain off the floor.
The mapping is great but in the app you can't zoom in very much. I have a rug in my living room that I've marked as a no-mop zone, but I can't zoom in far enough to be particularly precise and so I risk either giving the rug too much or too little room. The robot can detect carpet, would be great if it just worked out where not to mop on its own.

This is perfect! Cannot live without it now – Have used it for several months now. Smart floor mapping and location self-awareness. With its stronger suction power, it does the job well. Make my life easier. It seems that it supports two-floor mapping now. But haven't tried it.

Good robot but constant map problems – Excellent value robot for the specs and quality. However they haven't fixed a big mapping issue since it has released. The map constantly slides and changes causing it to get stuck during runs, in turn requiring remapping and putting in no go zones. I have to do this around once a month. Which I ifnd annoying. Stitch up - No refunds – The ad pictured their other model with the self emptying robovac. I was really excited for that one as I have a dog that sheds a LOT and needed a product to help me deal with that. Turns out the ad was for their regular robovac. Which I've now purchased and can't return. I feel like I've been done over a little bit by this company and honestly couldn't tell you if the one we got is good or not, cause I'm real mad.

Perfect Vacuum, Mopping doesn’t work – Perfect as a vacuum, can not fault it in that aspect. Mopping feature does not work. It will not move at all once the water tank is attached, it will sit in the same spot struggling to move until it decids to tell say it’s stuck and to return it to the dock. clean anything sticky. I go ahead of it and spray the floor to help it out, but it doesn’t make much difference. It’s ok as a vac and I’m still glad I have it. But wish I got a different one I was looking at that had a better mopping function.

great & easy to use to personalize to your needs. I’m a tech person so only use the app. Unsure how it works without it. Easily navigates from tiles to carpet. Even over rugs. I use mine every day! It’s a game changer in our house. Would recommend this to anyone after a strong vacuum robot. You can’t beat it. In my opinion out performs much more expensive options out there.

with some improvements in the mapping area. Setting virtual walls/ no clean areas is difficult as you cant zoom in far enough. The same applies to no mop zones. I also don’t like the fact that you are limited on what you can name rooms on the map. Would highly recommend all the same.

Can't connect to my dual band modem – I have a smart modem. It is dual band. Which means it has 2.4ghz and 5ghz bandwidth. However the robot cannot connect to my modem and they keep telling me it's because I have only 5ghz. Could not even update out of the box – Bought item to give it a try, was unable to finish the setup and update firmware, update kept failing and service support was do a factory reset, tried several times and even after factory reset vac did not wanted to connect to wifi. Kept remapping – The robot requires a remapping every second week due to the sensor problem with it which is extremely frustrating. Also take a lot of time to remapping when it happens. Do not recommend at all!
Wish I had bought this sooner – Maps the house accurately and does a very thorough job at vacuuming. Mopping function is OK. I've had no problems with it at all and am very happy with its performance.
Game Changer – I run it daily (vacuum) around the house and love it - saves me 20 min each day of sweeping or vacuuming. It deals with the majority of hair, crumbs, dirt as fluff generated by 2 adults + 3 kids + dog + cat on combination of tiles, carpet and rugs. I can’t believe I waited so long to get one of these. along the ground - it still looks noticeably cleaner afterwards and it does pickup up dirt particles and deal with light marks/footprints on the tiles, but doesn’t get rid of scuff marks etc which still require a scrub.
I would definitely buy again and 100% recommend this product even if only for the vacuum function. The mop is a good addition for a light clean.
Good value – Recently bought the D9 after comparing it with many similar products. It works quiet and smart, totally out of my expectation. Easy to operate. Have not tried the mop function yet.

After declaring various sections as No-Go zone where it use to get stuck - today literally it got stuck climbing from floor to the carpet. Hopefully its a firmware issue that they can fix!
I’m obsessed! – We are obsessed with our Robo Girl! Our floors have never been cleaner and I love not having to vacuum and mop anymore! We have a Cockerspaniel who sheds fur and the robo handles it well. Highly recommend this product!
