I have had a Yard King 138cc lawnmower with 16” bar since June 2020 . It does about 100 to 150 hrs per year and I have done the oil change consistently every year, with a cleaning and re -oiling of the foam air filter. The fabric grass catcher is a bit small so have to empty often. Mower starts reliably and only change I have had to do is replace… Read more
the sparkplug with a Champion RC12YC after 5.5 years when I had difficulty starting and mower would stall under load
Carburettor fuel leaks – Bought this Yardking mower from Bunnings in 2018 and hardly used. Fuel leaked from the carburettor and fuel cap top split. Parts like gaskets hard to find. No one sells the right parts. China made rubbish. I would spend little more money on better brands like Masport, Victa, etc. for peace of mind. Show details

You get what you pay for – $199 in Bunnings. At that price I would have been happy if it lasted a year, but I've so far had two years. Threw the catcher away immediately, and instead installed a rope that's tied to the top of the handlebars and runs down past the starter cord mount then into a hole I drilled in the deflector plate. That way I can have the cut grass… Read more
shooting out to the left, a lot or a little, my choice. Use mainly for round the house (I have ride-ons for the rest of the property). Always keep it at the lowest level, which gives me a nice short cut. I wouldn't dream of using this on heavy/long/wet grass, it's clearly not designed for it. Easy to start and push around, it's a real lightweight, plus not too noisy. I always always check the oil level whenever I fill it up with petrol. My other push mower is a Big Bob which has been going for 25+ years, never changed the oil, and it's done a lot of real work, but it's much heavier in comparison to this little Yellow Peril, so I don't use the BB much now.
Budget, Light Weight Mower – I bought a 138cc Yard King Push Mower Dec 2019. Obviously can't comment on longevity BUT so far.... I own a 1230sqm Block & use a mower to cut in around gardens ect prior using my Ride-On. The Good!!.......... Took around 30mins to assemble & add Fuel & Oil and check everything so I was happy prior start. Note: Doesn't come with factory oil, need… Read more
to purchase. Started 3rd pull from new, "Used 3times since", same same. Love how Light Weight it is, easy push on short lawns coming from a larger Victa mower. Actually seemed quiter than my old Victa. I like the idea of single bar blade cutter, if you have ever changed a 4 blade cutter with rusted bolts it's a nightmare! RIP knuckle skin...
The Bad!!!... Longer grass 70-120mm you need to sort of Ram the mower into it to get it feeding under the front deck, it seems like a design flaw normally the grass should bend and get pulled under the cutter deck quite easily. Push handle seems a little small would like it wider & curved. Catcher is small But I don't use one anyway, as I just cut for mulch purposes same as the ride on. Deck cut height adjustments are crap, on it's lowest would usually be a medium cut for what I'm use to. So on it's highest geezzzz why bother ud need a ride on if you know what I mean..
Overall, tidy little unit, looks good, nice and light, budget friendly if you compare it to paying a contractor to do it.
Great Mower, Light and Powerful. Perfect for flat or gently sloped yards – First self propelled mower I've bought, it is so much easier than a regular mower especially for our sloped yard. It is a 4 stroke mower and starts easy, is very lightweight (22.5kgs) and moves easily across the slope, and only needs a bit of a push up the slope because our yard is very steep. The chassis is steel and very sturdy. The catcher is a… Read more
mesh type fabric and quite small, bits of spiky grass get stuck in the mesh on the outside. The wheels aren't a great quality plastic and don't have a good tread, not very good for rocky slopes.
This mower would be perfect for flat or gently sloped yards, good for older people because it requires little to no effort, probably not for kids because of the self propelled movement may cause them issues if they're not used to it. It does have a safety mechanism, so you squeeze a separate bar to propel it, and once you let go it stops moving forward (but doesn't shut off the actual mower).

Perfect when it is working – The kid who designed the injection mould for the tank and cap must have been an apprentice and wasn't supervised. After removing the tank and lapping the cap with valve grinder paste the cap now screws off and on like a breeze. The plug carboned up and being 16mm I didn't have a spanner to remove it. Eventually I got it out and swapped it for a… Read more
Champion N4C and all the hard start issues went away. This has been my favourite mower, squeeze the handle and just follow it.
The ducks nuts – She's a ripper. Paid 150 bucks for it and mows like a dream. Ran like a dog first time but after it ran out of juice i filled her up with 98 and now the things cuts like a catholic headmaster. Must have had a guts full of bad fuel from the shop. The best part about not is the name. Yard king . They make ripper wheelbarrows too. 10/10 would bang. Show details
Fantastic mower! – Very light and easy to push, due to smallish 16" cut I assume. Starts first time every time. Runs quietly without fuss but will struggle with very heavy grass. If you're having a problem with this mower, you don't know how to use a mower. Best mower I've ever had. Show details
Negative reviews
No landscape reward – Have owned mower for under 6 months and throttle cable has broken. Mower had been doing a decent job on my small lawn but blade levels could be lower. The top 2 spots are utterly wasted. Show details
no spares, – It has been ok for my small lawns. had it for a few years. The only problem is there are no spares .So the petrol cap broke. Now it's living on borrowed time using tin foil as a cap. Show details
Unhappy – This mower is one of the hardest to get a spark plug for to replace have tried everywhere K7TC I don’t mind the mower in general but it is hard to start it’s not a great product Show details

disappointing in so many ways – had it six months, in that time its died twice, bits have fallen off, the petrol cap has split and its already starting to rust. think spark plugs blown too Show details

Decayed faster than a corpse in a river – What a cheap, useless lawnmower this is. Purchased for $269 foolish dollars from Bunnings roughly 12 months ago and it looks like it's been through a war, a famine and twelve years in a hard labour camp. it mows a standard to small front and back yard weekly or fortnightly, mind you. -Struggles to start in all conditions -Fuel cap broke within… Read more
the first 3 months -Handles snapped at the base because they're made of the cheapest metal money can buy -Running it on anything but 'full' revs immediately stalls it when it comes into contact with anything offering more resistance than the air itself -Self propulsion is only enabled on one of 4 wheels, meaning that you're still slogging it up and down yourself 90% of the time anyway.
You are legitimately better off buying a second hand mower from a man named Jim on facebook marketplace than pissing your money into this thing.
Very bad. Bought only 2 month and broken Blade holder, no spare part. $199 – Very bad product. I Bought Lawn Mower 4 stroke CHEETAH 16 IN at Binning only 2 months a go and broken Blade holder, no spare part. $199 no more this Lawn Mower. Show details
Great Mower however no supply of parts – Great Mower, It's not very powerful but does the job. It's simple to use, and doesnt make super lould noise compared to other mowers. I've had mine for 2 years, and have gone through 2 mower lids as they break easy when done up tight. If they break they cant be replaced. I got my first replacement of another mower at Bunnings (Staff member gave it… Read more
to me) and with the second breakage I now just have tape around it as Bunnings said they can no longer order them
Atrocious build quality – Routinely stops when pushing through thick buffalo grass. Catcher is very difficult to empty grass gets stuck all the time. Throttle control never fit fell off and was destroyed. Terrible. Show details
Can't get parts!! – Bought it about 2 years ago is good for me having back and knee issues. BUT YOU CAN'T GET PARTS!!!! Fuel cap split can't get a replacement anywhere makes it useless now! Show details
Terrible would never buy another one – Height adjustments are not good, won't cut properly, hard to maneuver, even on short grass it bogs down, catcher too small in general not a good product at all would never buy another one Show details
Cheap and has limitations – Bought at Bunnings in December 2018. Easy to assemble and started immediately. Good for small well kept lawns, minimal power and small cut. On a few occasions the handle snapped back and bruised my stomach, then this weekend it did it again and snapped the accelerator handle right through and bruised my wife’s stomach! Took it back to Bunnings at… Read more
Wonthaggi where The Manager Chris was fantastic and contacted the manufacturer. No joy as I it was out of warranty, but Chris issued a credit voucher so we could buy another. Certainly WILL NOT buy a Yardking again, probably get a Victa self propelled. Thank goodness for Bunnings and Chris...
Great little yellow machine – Bought the 138 after christmas. Easy to assemble. Did have to go get some oil. But for price i wasnt worried. Doesnt use much fuel. Starts easily. Mentioned to brother. He went and bought one. Feels the same. Show details
Absolute Garbage. Doesnt even run for 20 sec – Bought 13/10/19 from Bunnings and it took me whole day to setup. No online material provided . Never worked for more than 30 secs . Thankfully bunnings has good returns policy. Get a better brand which is in the market for a long time otherwies it will be a cost centre. Show details

New lawn mower – My new yardking is so easy to use, its light and easy to push. Very easy pull start and essy to clean. Fantastic price. Highly recommend this mower, bought from bunning. Show details
It's cheap and won't last but the warranty is great and will probably save you – Bought in Nov 2018 and took ours back today. The handle had sheared off the locking pins and is only help on by one bolt each side. As a result the handle falls to the ground or flips over the front of the mower. The catcher is a flimsy material one that doesn't take long to fill (as you'd expect from a $199 mower). Thankfully I had the reciept… Read more
and took it back to Bunnings for a refund and upgraded to Masport. If you want a cheap mower to get you by for a few months (they have a good 12mth warranty) then go for it as you only need to use it 4-5 times to cover the cost of getting a mower service to do your lawn. Just make sure you inspect it after each use as they leak oil out of the muffler. It's really lightweight and would be easy to use for someone who's not very strong, starting it was fairly easy too and it was very economical on fuel. Would I get one again? Nah.
Yuck – Very heavy. Difficult to use. Too fast on self propelled mode. But the worst feature was that it leaked copious amounts of petrol that could not be stopped or fixed. Dangerous! Poor catcher. Fortunately Bunnings quickly refunded the purchase price. Bunnings is excellent for this. Bunnings sold me a Masport mower that did exactly what I wanted. Show details
So far so good. It does the job for medium yard – I purchased the mower from a demo shop. It worked well and was petrol efficient : I managed to run the mower for a good 45min with the petrol that was already in it (so not much). The catcher could be bigger but it does the job for a medium yard. Show details
Petrol Cap Failed within 2 weeks - OK Mower for Medium to Small Yards – The mower is ok for small to medium yards. The build quality of the mower chassis is strong. The petrol cap like the other parts of the mower are plastic and prone to breaking. The mower only has a 12 month warranty for the engine only, so as the petrol cap is not consider the 'motor' I had to order and pay Yard King $25 for a new petrol cap. Show details
worst lawn mower ever – Need to restarting it 30-40 times for just 100sqm lawn, too easy to make the engine stop: thick lawn, full catcher, uphill etc. Catcher is tiny and not catching properly, without catcher the blade stucking in every 10metres. Do not buy it unless you enjoy the fitness for keep pulling starter. Show details
It's really easy to use – First of all, the price of this mower is very cheap, suitable for all kinds of families. For the moment, I have used it for two years. I feel that he is very powerful and saves a lot of energy during the use. I have not encountered any problems, of course, it is indispensable for normal maintenance. I will clean it once a month. Great mower – The yardking mower is very light and can used by anyone. Its quieter than most mowers and very easy to use and start. The only fault i have is the catcher. It doesn't seem to catch grass properly. I am not sure if it is to do with the catcher being material or mine is not right, so its a little frustrating, however i am otherwise very happy with this mower Show details
bar blades – all good and happy until you need a new blade. Bunnings don't keep them. they'll say they do but have had to return 3x types (lawnking and Ryobi) today. the spacing for the 2x keeper notches are either too close or too far apart. i'll dig out the receipt and return it. Show details
New from Bunnings, Seized after 5 minutes – It was all going so well, easy to assemble, I put oil in the crankcase "correct amount on dipstick as per instructions", Filled the fuel tank, Started it up and it started first go. Cut like a champ. Ran for 5 minutes and then died, couldn't for the life of me work out why until I saw the front of the mower. All the brand new oil I'd put in it… Read more
had blown out of the exhaust and dribbled down the front. I couldn't see it when I was pushing it. Only after inspection when it died did I realise what happened.
I'm guessing poor ring clearance pushed oil past the piston and into the head.
Back to Bunnings this weekend to buy a better known brand.
Great little mower – Great little lawn mower. I’m a woman so it’s light and easy to push . Easy to start and fill . Love the catcher how easy it is to detach, empty and reattach . Is a very reasonable price for a lawn mower . Defiantly not disappointed with this one Show details
Value for small money & small lawns – At under $200 this mower is easy to start with one or two pulls and maneuvers easily around trees etc. Smaller catcher but easy to lift and refit. Only had three uses but can't fault it yet as it gives a very even cut and noise level is below most petrol mowers. Show details · 1
Not good – What happens if the pull cord ceases and you cannot start the mower??? Show details
