Scammed – I call 24hour local plumber service to fix our block toilet. The plumber guy came his name is [Name Removed] and charged us $950 before he started the job and we paid though we know it’s too pricey because we really need the job to be done. After 20 minutes he said that he can’t fix it because the pipe might be broken, need the excavator to dig to… Read more
the pipe and it cause $5000. We told them we can not pay that money so we will think about it first. [Name Removed] left the property with$950 without fixing the blocked toilet and left the property with mess. The next morning other Plumber from Service today who is honest and trustworthy fixed our blocked toilet for $300 only with VIP member and he said the pipe is not broken. We been scammed I started calling [Name Removed] and the company But they’re not answering my calls and messages. Beware with 24houremwrgencyplumber/ local plumber as they are fraud and not legit they just want your money. They have only 3 reviews in their website but it not legit. Beware with them, I put their complete details on the website to warned others not to book plumber with them. Just always be careful with the tradies that we book.
Worst company I've ever dealt with if I could give 0 I would! – Just received a message from Ylmp saying something about surviving lockdowns etc they have a short memory, 2 Easters ago during 1st lockdown they created a major leak in my house after shoddy workmanship to repair a minor leak and then refused to answer or support to resolve until I made official complaints... take me off your database, I will never use or recommend your company....warning to you all...don't use!
Have been to VCAT, now onto the VBA and ACCC – This company is deplorable. Have just taken them to VCAT for costs to rectify their shotty work. VCAT awarded us the costs to rectify and we have contacted the VBA to now report them. Our story is the same as Maureen... complete replacement of gas pipes after we called them about a gas heater repair. The compliance certificate they provided is not… Read more
worth the paper its printed on. They have actually lied to the VBA to get the certificate because the work is not compliant and they did not complete any tests for leaks upon completion of the works. Amazing how every one of their Google reviews is positive, they must have someone monitoring Google daily to get their negative reviews removed. They need to be stopped.
Over priced under performance – These people destroyed my faith in a good ol hard working reasonable priced plumbing services, 3.6k for 2 rain heads, 2 up size down pipes and 21 metres of metal drop in leaf guard. At best $750 material costs and were here 3.5 hours, and then I had to get them back to fix the appalling job they did. So I think I paid $900 an hour. Stay away from… Read more
these people at all costs and use a local plumber and not some middle man hiring company. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY.
A very bad company – Stay away from this company!!! This company is just a middleman. Their quote was extremely vague, using jargons and terms that were designed to confuse and get advantage of consumers. They were unable to confirm exactly when their sub-contractor would come to do the jobs. After contacting them on a daily basis, the sub-contractor finally came.… Read more
They claimed they had completed the jobs. But they were unable to show any evidence.

Sought quote & expertise from this company on LPG vs Natural Gas to a pre-existing dwelling with Natural gas already installed. Plumber that attended had no knowledge or experience with LPG and didn't know that the two services cannot co-exist on the one property. He was unable to provide the service or information that I had sought, yet, confidently advised me that the 20mm pre-existing pipeline under the house was insufficient and would require replacing at a cost of over 4K, cost to have LPG installed was 3.5K, no mention of safety standards on the quote. I refused to pay the $79.95 GST exclusive call out fee for quotation and advice having not received this service yet the company has no complaints process, no apology or customer service, and is contacting me frequently to pay for a service I did not receive. I have lodged a formal complaint with the VBA and will also with the ACCC. I was fortunate to have asked for a second opinion from Whitehorse Plumbing, who gave detailed information, was knowledgeable on safety standards and advised me on full regulations, even the required installation heights between gas cooker and rangehood to meet compliance standards - a quality service. If not, I may have gone ahead with having LPG installed with this dodgy company, which may have ended in disaster.
Not Recommended – Despite the high price tag ($2826.04), in comparison to other quotes, I still decided to engage YLMP to changeover our hot water system as this was urgently needed for my young family. The changeover was completed within hours and immediately after the Plumber left (same day) I noticed that the power cord wasn't fully latching to the power point… Read more
and hence no power to the hot water system. I immediately called the office to ask if someone could kindly come back and have a look but they advised that I had to paid the outstanding balance as well as an assessment fee of $175.00 (refundable if assessed by them as their workmanship fault) before they can send someone over. I was very disappointed as I thought with the premium price I paid the after service support would have been at the higher end of the scale. High price tag coupled with very bad after service support means I would NOT recommend YLMP to any of my colleagues, friends or family members.
Keep well away from this business! – We got a plumber to come over and do a quote on finding and fixing a water leak in our garden, near the meter box. Plumber said “it’s going to be well over $4000” reasons given: - leak will be impossible to find - will need to replace and relay new pipe - will need an excavator to dig the water pipe. - will need to knock down the fence to get the… Read more
excavator in. All of this was absolute rubbish! (We didn’t go ahead with this quote!) Instead my husband went to the rental to have a look. He found the leak straight away. Dug (using a shovel) 20cm into the ground. Replaced the piece of pipe. Didn’t need to go near the fence. It cost us $41 in materials. Let me repeat! It cost us $41 and this company tried to charge over $4000 The photo shows how deep the pipe is - and the wanted to tear down our fence to use an excavator!!! Thieves!
Do not use these people they overcharge and we suspect some of the work did not even need to be done – We had a gas heater that kept going out. We called them in and they checked the heater and stated that the heater was not the problem. They checked the gas. The man walked around the house with this instrument that kept beeping. He told my husband we had gas leaking and needed to have the pipes replaced. My husband was very concerned because of… Read more
all the beeping noises and thought he needed to get it done immediatly. It cost $7000.00 and took two men half a day to do. Our heater still kept going out. When another man from the company did the complience check we told him the heater was still not working . He had another look at it and stated it was not fit for purpose. He said we needed a new heater and wanted to charge us another $6000.00 for this. My husband stated we could not afford this. He became suspicious and had other plumbers come in to check the heater. All it needed was the lighting mechanism replaced. The charge for that approximately $500,00. We would have paid $13,000.00 if we had continued with them. As it is we paid $7000.00 and we are wondering if the pipes really need replacing. Another plumber told us that he would have charged $2400.00 for the job of replacing the pipes instead of the $7000.00 that they charged.
If I could give less than one star I would – PLEASE READ Do not use these people, I cannot even describe the ordeal I have been through. Zero customer service, could not care less about their reputation, unethical, do not comply with legal requirements and overcharge. I have only managed to get somewhere in rectifying my issues by going through the Victorian Building Authority and Consumer… Read more

In short, STAY AWAY. They are definitely on VBA's radar, they'll be out of business eventually, until then, don't give them your money.
Cancelled Service and then stated they don't provide the Service – I tried to arrange 2 Gas Compliance Checks in early June with Your Local Plumber and thought all was good until I received an email in mid June stating the Plumber was ill and all jobs were postponed for 10 days. I waited 10+ days and then tried again and was told that Your Local Plumber does not provide the service - I have wasted an entire month… Read more
- the reason for 1 star. My advice - find a nice local plumber who is willing to do the work - do not rely on Your Local Plumber for anything.
Misleading and deceptive company – I rang to get a quote for replacing some tap washers that were leaking. I was given a call out fee but when I pushed for more information I was told they were not qualified to quote and the plumber would explain everything when they arrived. Despite numerous attempts to get a reasonable estimate of the costs the best I could get was a call out fee… Read more
which I assumed covered an initial time period for the work as this is fairly standard practice. When the plumber arrived and before he even walked in the door, I specifically asked him about his fees and what the call out fee covered. He said the call out fee was just to get him to the door and everything he did had a standard fee regardless of the time. I asked how much it cost to replace a couple of tap washers that were leaking and he told me it was a minimum of $250 per set so for 2 set of taps it was $500. The work would take around 15 minutes so effectively $2000/hour plus the call out fee. I said I was not paying that type of fee for such trivial work. He agreed it was exorbitant and he frequently had customers complain and refuse to allow him to proceed. But it was company policy and he had no flexibility in the pricing. I said I wasn't going to proceed and he was sympathetic but could do nothing. I immediately rang the company to complain and was told that everything had been explained to me and I had to pay the fee. I have refused on the basis that the company was evasive from the start and no work was undertaken.
Do not under any circumstances deal with this company. I have now reported them to the ACCC and Consumer Affairs Victoria.
Do Not Use Your Local Melbourne Plumber – We have had a terrible experience with YLMP - they have been manipulative, deceptive and unethical. They told my wife I had agreed to work that I never agreed to. They gave us bad advice about what work needed to be done, and they are still trying to get us to pay for work they never did. Steer clear.

Destroyed my faith in plumbers – I have had the worst experience ever with this company My Local Plumber. I contacted them to service and check a gas log fire (which was working perfectly) and was bullied into $6400 new pipes. I believe they prey on older vulnerable people with a fear of gas. My advice use only plumbers that you have had personal recommendation for….because this self regulation of the plumbing industry allows cowboys like the ones I had ..to flourish!
Not a reputable company – It’s a bag of mixed lollies, you don’t know what you are going to get. I had 4 different sub-contractors come out for the same job, first guy was experience, and then they sent out inexperience plumbers to finish the job, which they stuff up.
DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE – DO NOT USE. Very quick to take your money but will not send plumbers back to rectify issues unless you agree to pay further money. Plumbers do not come when promised. Customer service have no idea what is going on with your job, promise to look into things and call you back but don’t. They also provide you with vouchers they do not honour. Have still not provided a compliance certificate. Cannot stress highly enough NOT TO USE THIS COMPANY.
Unhappy customer using the local plumber company – Vey bad customer service I ask to contact me half an hour before plumber arrived so I could meet him there, never contacted me just arrived at my mum which is a 85 years old was there for 5 minutes and charged $150 what a rip off.
Stay away from this company
AVOID! Didn’t show up to appointment 4 times in a week!! – Absolute time wasters, ZERO stars if I could. Need a service on my gas heater and they cancelled on me 4 times in a week!! Worst business I’ve come across in many years! Today was the 4th and final time I will bother! They didn’t even call me to let me know that no one was coming. I called in the morning as no one arrived for my 8am-10am… Read more
appointment AGAIN. They told me it would now be 1pm-3pm. So I sit and wait again, not wanting to leave home in case I miss them. So I call just before 2pm to get an update and I’m told “Oh it won’t be today, it’ll be Monday now”. Safe to say I lost it at him. He didn’t have anything to say and wouldn’t put on a Supervisor or Manager for me to talk to. Literally DO NOT BOTHER with these useless “plumbers”. They cancelled on me on a Friday, a Saturday, a Tuesday and another Friday. No day works for them, clearly; do they have 1 plumber to service the whole of Melbourne?? Go elsewhere.
Dodgy! – Got told someone would be out on Thursday then moved to Friday where I got call at 6:20am to say 7:30 arrival. 8:30 they finally roll round. Told I would get a quote same day on Friday so in the afternoon I chase it up with no result. Call on Saturday and receive a call back from [Name Removed] who tells me to accept a verbal quote of $3800 over… Read more
the phone before they will “spend time and effort in writing a quote.” She can’t tell me if it was including GST, materials or what hours. Can’t commit to a written quote on Monday or at all until it is accepted. Who in their right minds would blindly accept $3800 without any breakdown?
Went with another plumber who did two roof repairs and the correct replacement part (the Brivis module not thermo couple) with certificate and warranty for $300. Lots of rain since and it’s good as new. Plumber said there wasn’t a thermo couple on ducted heating unit. Thankful I didn’t blindly accept a ridiculous price from these lying thieves although sad that I did waste time though.
Preying on vulnerable people, a bully – May my experience as a lesson to you all. The whole thing is a kick in my gut not to easily trust any plumbing company. Not even the good reviews some are fake news. If you use their service eg goods, products regardless you have signed or not signed, they are coming for your money. Make sure you look up their ABN and they are trading under… Read more
different names. Don't look at the good reviews, look at bad reviews first. They prey on vulnerable people. Keep yourself, elders, and love ones away from them. Overall, There are lots of run-around given, they are a bully, not even the consumer affairs can help me to waive the late fee in dispute, I have made a complaint to Victoria Building Authority and repot the fraudulent signature to the police. I have made a complaint directly to the company and they always say sorry for the experience I received but please PAY!. I paid everything but they still not giving me the insurance claim report cos the late fee in dispute. But surprisingly enough they gave me the compliance certificate as if that report is their golden ticket to get me to pay the late fee. Little by little they get what they want. You can continue to read the full experience below. 20 March, spoke with George who estimated Chef Benchline 540 around $1,000 including installation when plumber quoted $1,800 negotiate down to 1,550 with same day installation onsite. The Deposit of $450 was paid but the cooktop & plumber never came. I Rang the following Monday to put pressure and someone came but found gas leak requires gas pipe replacement, was under pressure to make a decision and quoted $7,100 . I refused to pay the remaining for the gas cooktop until I get the compliance certificate & insurance claim report for the gas pipe replacement. I have made the complaint numerous times but they don't care, they just want the $$. The issue dragged until this year, they chasing money again and this time they provided a customer satisfactory agreement with a fake signature pretending to be me signing it off and pressure me further late fee will be added. I have told them if they dont waive the fee, I will post my experience fully. 1. I have been advised 3 plumbers for the job but only two I saw doing the job, 2. was advised I can claim on insurance for up to $3,000 depends on how the report is written 3. The confusion of the plumber might not take the old cooktop with them, 6. refuse to provide the reports & certificate of the gas replacement because they want me to pay the remaining balance of the cooktop, which is separate job 7. I was under a huge amount of pressure as I was told the reece will be in lockdown soon and they need to get the copper sooner than later on 23rd March. 8. I was later got another plumber to quote for about $3000 same material for the gas pipe replacement. 9. Their plumbers asked if I own unit 1 or not before they decide to tell me there's a gas leak and then quickly shut down the gas by taping it all around the gas switch. I later got another plumber to check but no gas leak at all. I started to wonder if I made a terrible mistake to have the unit 2 gas pipe replaced due to a lie. with all that has happened, I don’t feel comfortable paying the remaining and not getting that report to claim on the insurance. Many times I have contacted them via email and direct to Victor their manager who manages the plumber's task. He always gives one-liner response like .....FULL PAYMENT REQUIRED....They are strange, even try to text me saying about not able to get to me via email since I have replied to them and cc the justice department contact. Listen or not listen, your choice but I want to warn as many people as possible because I believe they give the plumbing industry a bad reputation.
Bullying Behaviour – I am writing to you to complain about a 22 minute phone call I had with your representative Tim I was yelled at, harangued , spoken over the top of , called an idiot , my personal character challenged, questioned what my occupation was and belittled It was such an unpleasant experience where Tim was rude, aggressive , belligerent, and… Read more
represented your business in such a poor negative light I hope he is not trained or instructed to behave in this manner as I would not want to ever subject myself or others to this behaviour ever again No assistance was given , no recourse given no acknowledgment was given of the issue at hand. I cannot for the life of me understand how anyone would ever wish to continue to have repeat business with your firm when treated in such a manner I hope this was an isolated instance and not truly indicative of how your firm operates
I wouldn’t wish anyone else to be treated in such a negative manner and have no hesitation in relating to others this most unsavoury experience Tim doggedly refused to to accept our position and no apologies were forth coming. There was no acknowledgement that we are far from happy with the sales service we have received Charged over $6000 for 3 metre pipe membrane redline that wasn’t required and exorbitantly excessive
Beware their terrible subcontractors – I had a shockingly bad experience with a subcontractor provided by Your Local Melbourne Plumber, so be very wary who you engage. Beware of your local Melbourne plumber – WE have been trying to get an itemized account from this group for work supposedly done for 8 months. This is the 5th time no show... warning people, do not use these plumbers, they are rip off merchants , and… Read more
liars. Said the job would cost $3000, then charged us $10,000 which Humm financed, without a signature BTW. The plumber also told us he will write out a fake invoice to send to our insurance company so we can get some money back.. ...no such invoice has been given to us.. we would not send anyway we are not thieves like they are. Beware people beware
Roof Plumber – JDK roof plumbing did an excellent job replacing guttering and installing fascia cover on a very old house. Also did a couple of very minor plumbing jobs whilst on site with no cost creep. Recommended for quality of work and attitude. They were subby to another firm on my job so unsure about their direct rates etc.
Deceiving and unethical – Deceiving, unethical, money driven, bad service, unfriendly. Very manipulative, make sure you get at least 2 more quotes ONSITE from other plumbers. Anything is urgent according to their practice. Don’t fall for that. You can do better, as long as you have the money in your pocket they cannot take that away from you. I learnt my lesson the hard way.
Fixed my blocked drain within hours – Before Your Local Melbourne Plumbers I have tried different plumbers to fix my blocked drain. But there wasn't any use and I called this company to try as my final hope. It worked, Daniel their plumber was an drain specialist. With the help of their latest technology they detected the issue and rectified the problem within 4 hours. I was worried about this drain from past one month and I am glad it is fixed now.
Stay Away – They overcharge and will not provide any substantiation of their price. Although My Melbourne Plumber (Your Local Melbourne Plumber) may use reasonable subcontractors, they lack any professionalism. They refuse to speak to you, all correspondence via vague emails. When you do ring their call centre, you are told someone will ring you back, they never do. DO NOT engage with this company
Roof damage and solved well – I was cheated by my previous plumber in showing additional amount in the quote and didn't knew whom to believe. We just booked a assessment with these people and the plumber explained what all they will do to repair the roof and did a breakdown of the quote. I found their quote convincing and hence approved them to do job. I don't regret my decision. Happy with their service.
Overcharged 85 year old women with blocked toilet – A plumber from this company went to my mother's house and charged almost $1100 to unlock the toilet (they were on site for less than 50 mins). When challenged on this price they claim it was fair. The problem has returned within 2 months. We had another plumber come out for $250 and cleared the drain. Show details
Disgusted – I had a blocked toilet that needed to be fixed urgently. My regular plumber was overseas so I tried "My Melbourne Plumber." They charged me $18,000 to fix it! I am totally disgusted. I would certainly never use them again.
Unblocking a toilet drain – I was very disappointed with their expensive quote and job, my tenant had to pay before any work was done and they charged $840 to unlock their toilet drain. I have never paid more than $400, and when I called them and emailed them, I didn't get any call back till over 2 weeks later, and when I asked them to email me they refused to waste time… Read more
and were not interested whatsoever. They were rude on the phone and did not want to deal with me or explain why the bill was so expensive. There was no after repair service, could not care if we never use them again and it's no wonder after a bill of $840. I would never use them again because of their cost and after service. Very disappointing.
Felt Overcharged – This is a group, so each experience will be different. Came out the day after my call, although the time was changed due to a more urgent job. The price guide for unblocking the sewer line with a high pressure jet had been $330, but the plumber set the price at $650 before even commencing. with a vague excuse about it taking an hour. However, the price was a flat rate and he spent a lot of that time on the phone rather than working. They are also very insistent about payment that day, whereas most tradies are fine with emailing an invoice. Sent me an email and sms demanding immediate payment, which seemed unprofessional. The actual work carried out was fine.
