Just no good. Don't buy it – No good. Starter chord broke after using it 2 times. Really difficult to start. Just doesn't work. Spend your dollar on something of quality. This is a get what you pay for product and you don't get what you pay for. Show details
Great saw – Brught the Baumr chainsaw 62cc 20inch bar and for the price I am absolutely amazed. Love this saw I put it through 2 days of absolutely hell but it kept going. Cutting trees great and started everytime perfectly. Highly recommend this saw for beginners or professionals. Honestly for the weekend warrior or for a back up saw for the professionals. Give it 5 out 5 Show details · 1
No after purchase service – I purchased this online from Harvey Norman in Feb 24, and upon assembly I found that the adjusting bolt had no slot to use a screwdriver to turn it. I have contacted both Harvey Norman and Baumr to try to resolve the issue/ return or replace but can't get anyone to response via their email options. I have already wasted 10 days waiting for a… Read more
reply, and will have to go out and buy another chainsaw in store..will never buy online again!
Update: 18.04.2024 Baumr have contacted me and have opted not to acknowledge my invoice and insist that I place a warranty claim through Harvey Norman online..which is also a scam site with bot operated customer service. The product is faulty and Baumr refuse to uphold their warranty- unless HN submit it..what is the difference!. Wont be wasting any more time or money with either of these companies!

Good Chainsaw Great Vaule For Money – I purchased the chainsaw in August 2019 for a bargain price of $135 delivered. Assembly was very easy. Followed the manual using good quality 2 stroke oil and 95 unleaded fuel and good quality bar and chain oil. First start was very easy. This saw is no Stihl or Husqvarna but to my suprise it cuts hardwood very easily. The first time cutting wood… Read more
I was cutting up firewood. A fallen old stringybark tree. The cuts were approximately 50cm across the trunk to split with a block splitter. The saw had plenty of power and managed it easily. Some people have mentioned how the saw leaks oil and yes mine has too, but only a couple of drops in 3 days while sitting on a shelf. This could be stopped by tightening up the oil screw when finished and then loosening it again when going to use it. I believe there is a problem with the quality of the air filter in this saw. After cutting a trailer load of wood and then cleaning the saw dust had managed to go thru the filter and into the carby. So it will be interesting to see how long the saw lasts with dust getting into it while running. But overall I am happy with my purchase a decent trailer load of firewood costs more than the price of the saw, so in effect the saw has paid for itself with one morning cutting wood. I normally cut about 8 - 10 tonne of firewood per year if I get 2 years use out of the saw I will be happy. The equivalent Stihl or Husqvarna would have cost over $1000. Would I buy this saw if I was cutting firewood all day everyday for a living no, but for personal moderate use it is a big yes from me. I must admit I was a bit skeptical about the quality and performance of these saws having read many reviews on them. Some people gave rave reviews and others poor reviews and for $135 I really was not expecting great things from it; but I have been suprised by it's performance. I take it easy pulling the starting cord and let the easy start help as apposed to just pulling the cord vigorously. I also make sure the chain break is off and hold the bar up while adjusting the chain tension and not just while tightening the lock nuts. Like I have said the build quality is not fantastic but given care operating the saw taking into account the build quality I feel it will hold together ok. The dust into the carby is the only problem that concerns me with this saw and time will tell how long it lasts. So is it worth a gamble buying this saw? Given the price point and how it powered thru the firewood I have cut up to date I would definitely say a big yes. If you want to see a couple of video reviews I have made based on my initial use of the saw just look for dragonlair 2350 on youtube.
Update 25/11/2019. I used the saw again this weekend to clear up a large gum tree that had fallen thru a boundary fence. I used a new Archer chain cutting thru the trunk and limbs around 40cm across. It was like cutting thru butter. Effortless and quick. The Archer chains are so much better than the chain that came with the saw and are a reasonable price too. I now use a lawnmower oil syphon pump to remove the bar oil from the saw when it is not in use. Takes about 2 minutes and now have no more problem with oil leaking out while in storage.
Update 5/1/2020 Fired up the saw again today to cut some fence posts out of a huge fallen stringybark. Cut through it like it was butter. Really is nothing this saw can't do.
For the price it’s hard to beat – I’ve owned mine for approx. 10 years now and have used it regularly for domestic firewood and yard work. Have had to replace a couple of parts from wear and age deterioration (fuel lines, filters etc.) but they where very cheap, easy to replace and not unexpected. It’s always been easy to start and I’m very impressed it’s still going! Always drain fluids after use. Show details · 1
Great. As expected. This is my second and the older one (November 2012) is still going strong – Very easy to start. It's the second one I've owned. The other was damaged (now fixed; it was just a bad chain-sharpening lesson :)) but still starts like new after some years. I cut firewood, mostly old split hardwood posts. I also trim fence lines and clear fallen trees etc. Never had a negative experience related to the machine. Show details · 1
Proceed with caution – I purchased the SX62 new on eBay I'm guessing the best part of 10 years ago I think the price was around $139. After delivery I didn't need to use it for 12 months . When I did need to use it, it wouldn't start. Put it away and never followed up. Continued to use my old Poulan. Finally pulled it out after many years to look at it yesterday.… Read more
Still wouldn't start. "Start Ya Bastard" with a little oil for lubrication would make it fire but would not run. Pulled it down found a few assembly issues. The plastic molding used to position the ignition cable and guide for the idle screw adjustment hadn't been aligned properly and had been partially crushed when top plastic cover was fit. The fuel line had been routed over the end of the carby retaining bolt and was tight and restricted. The rubber grommet/seal that the fuel line passes through in the floor of the air filter housing was not fitted properly. The fuel line had a split in it presumably from being cut by the aluminium casing during installation. This is the main reason it wouldn't run - sucking air. I replaced the rubber fuel line with Tygon. The fuel tank/fuel line seal is molded into the fuel line. I couldn't find a suitable grommet as the tank is fairly thick at this point. Ended up drilling out the center of the old fuel line where the seal flares are and sliding it over the Tygon. Plastics have discoloured even though saw has been stored on shelf in shed. Starts and runs ok now. Still haven't cut any wood with it yet.

Does everything I need for moderate domestic use – I bought this saw approx 8 years ago from eBay when my Stihl (my first chainsaw) finally died (after about 12-15 years of ag use). I was expecting it to last one to two seasons max, but it's still going strong...and I haven't taken it easy with it. It doesn't get commercial use but each year has provided enough firewood to get me and my mate's… Read more · 1
households through the winter, cutting a variety of timbers (sappy peppercorn, pines, various gums, olives, and the odd redwood rail sleeper). Easy start, easy to clean and maintain. I sharpen the teeth after every 2-3 tanks of fuel and never leave fuel in the fuel-tank to help preserve seals etc. After each job, remove the blade and chain to clean thoroughly. 8 years on, I've been through a couple of chains (on to my 3rd now) which is not surprising given the sleeper cuts, and the only problem is chain-oil leakage which I had on the Stihl too. If you look after this tool, it'll look after you.
missing part – this is my 3rd baumr and have no problems apart from oil leaks which all saws seem to have but i have just unboxed my new sx62 and it is missing the air filter i have an old one i can use but it is a bit ordinary Show reply
Purchase Agsx62 chainsaw from Edisons – Bought this chainsaw because the Makita one I had needed a part which was not available after waiting six months Very cheap so not expecting much but pleasantly surprised Easy to start and plenty of power for my needs Build not as good as the Makita but build does not help without parts back up I have bought a lawnmower from this company which… Read more · 1
still runs well The parts backup and service is second to none which one of the main reasons I buy from Edisons I basically have to chuck the Makita for the want of one part and Makita service is rubbish

Poor chain adjuster – This is a great saw with a lot of power. I have two problems with it and the first is that the bar gap is too wide. When the chain stretches a little there is too much play in the bar and the chain runs to one side. The other problem is a major one and that is the chain adjuster. It is very weak and the little bit of plastic that supports the… Read more
end of the screw mechanism is too thin and broke out. Because one has to adjust the chain often due to the over wide gap in the bar the chain adjuster gets a lot more work out and the end broke out. Waiting to see if they will replace the chain brake cover for me. Update: 21st November The company replaced the chain brake and adjuster for me and the saw has been working very well since. The chain holds its tension and and cuts well.

Price is impossible to beat – I have cut dozens of loads of white box with this saw. It is easy to start, although I had to adjust the carby. The bar is not high quality & I am about to replace it. Don't leave bar oil in the saw when you finish, it will all leak out, no big deal. Value for money, but you need to look after it. Show details

Great Saw – I've had the sx62 for over 5 years cut wood with it every year. Has always started in 2 to 3 pulls. Chain tensioner is not the best . Bar oil will leak abit if left full. any other chainsaw. I've seen huskys and Stihls being temperamental at starting and flooding when cutting with friends and family. I would recommend this saw if you don't want to spend a lot of money.

Avoid buying Baumr-AG and from these companies – Baumr-AG 9T Electric Hydraulic Wood Splitter I bought this splitter from Mills Brands Pty Ltd/ Edisons in NSW My experience with this wood splitter are: 1. unsafe. 2. The machine leaked oil. I contacted the seller, they sent a video to me and told me to fix it myself. This wood splitter is unsafe and faulty, and by law they are responsible of this machine. But they used all kind of excuses, delaying and refused to take it back and refund my money. So please DO NOT buy this brand of wood splitter and from companies of Mills Brands, Edisons and Mytopia.

Problems on delivery but now Ok – Saw arrived quickly enough. Cost $179AUD incl shipping I followed the on line instructions and a You Tube video to put it together. However, it wouldn't start. I have been fixing engines for 60 years and the first thing to look at is the spark plug (obviously I already knew it had fuel etc), However, the spark plug was impossible to get out with… Read more
the supplied spanner. To get a socket onto it, I had to remove the air filter securing stud (which was bent) I used a 1/2" drive plug socket with a breaker bar (just under 1 metre long) with my mate holding the saw down. I almost thought it would break the plug off when it went with a loud crack and it was free. On inspection, I found the the spark plug had no gap whatsoever. After re-gapping and refitting the spark plug hand tight plus 1/4 turn (as you are supposed to do with a spark plug,) it started and ran well. I was quite relieved that I hadn't got what I paid for as it was so cheap. Obviously assembled by an unskilled worker. Since then, it has performed well, cutting down several large yuccas (3 metres high, 500cm in diameter). Chain stretched very quickly and I found that it must be dismantled and cleaned after every session. (I spray it with WD40 and oil it every time before putting it away). As Yuccas are very damp and fibrous, I found the clutch was starting to rust the following day of use but I blame myself as I hadn't yet cleaned it out. Never had a chainsaw so can't compare it with anything else. I do consider it value for money, I have used it on 3 separate occasions since buying it and have more work planned for it. It has paid for itself when you consider what it would cost to hire one. Quite satisfied with it. One final point, it came with a free "safety kit" which included gloves. Impossible to use as the cuffs had been stitched right through so impossible to get a hand in either of them! So it works, but the quality control for the saw and the gloves is lacking.

great easy to start chainsaw, the reason i bought my second one wore the first one out out over many years – very easy, very happy with the ease of starting all types and sizes, copes well with all quite easily, no problem at all, chain had to be adjusted several times, but that's expected with a new chain, stretch Show details · 1

Only good for a couple of years and then they die – I bought a Baumer chainsaw and I liked the way it worked, so I bought a 10" and the biggest they sell. Every one of these stopped working after a couple of years and it doesn't matter what you, they just don't work. I have since bought a Stihl chainsaw and even though they are more expensive, I think that is the way to go. You buy cheap and get… Read more
rubbish. Here is my advice to the younger people. Pay the extra buck and get something useful in everything you buy. Buying cheap is just buy to chuck away with frustration.
Utter rubbish – Will not run at all Bought a pole saw 10 years ago and it still runs starts pretty much first time every time. Bought a pole saw trimmer whippersnipper etc a couple of years later exact same treatment storage etc stopped working after a couple of years and is a rust bucket.old one has done at least 20 times the work.just much better quality and more user friendly.no rust Weird. Quality is very poor now. Show details
One of my best purchases – I needed to cut up 60 big pine trees, and then I wouldn't need the saw again. I was reluctant to spend $700+ on a Stihl or Husky, and had read some OK reviews about the Baumr. At first, it was terrible. The factory chain stretched constantly and got blunt so quickly. I read somewhere that I should put an Oregon chain on. What an amazing… Read more
difference. It has ripped through the 60 trees and has paid itself off five times over. It hasn't skipped a beat in three years - starts the third pull every time.
You get what you pay for – I paid $70 delivered for this saw on eBay back in Christmas 2018. A super special. My expectations were low. Couldn’t get it to start at first, but once I replaced the spark plug with a decent brand, it started right up and cut OK for a few months. I might have used it 3 times in around 4 weeks? Then I broke the starter rope. Pulled it apart… Read more
and fixed it. Worked ok since, but the ratcheting starter mechanism feels very fragile. The chains are average, so I don’t bother sharpening them. I just buy new chains in bulk - you can buy them for like $5 each delivered from China.
It’s hard to start when cold, and leaks bar oil and fuel everywhere when stored. It regularly stalls when in use. But it works, and for $70 delivered, you can’t complain.
Terrible chainsaw, terrible customer service! – Don’t bother! Bought chainsaw a couple of years ago. Had hardware store technician put it together. Worked for about 5 cuts, then started emitting smoke and leaking petrol. Contacted Baumer several times and they never got back to me. Terrible chainsaw that never worked properly and horrendous customer service. Am happy to manage a joint claim against these degenerates if enough people get back to me with similar experiences. Great Wall of chainsaws – Bought one of these years ago, initially thought it was great value for money. Plenty of power and cut ok for a cheap machine. Put it away for a couple of years and try to use it, no go. On investigation, clean plug, air filter, heaps of shit has bypassed the air filter and carby inlet is full of wood dust. Didn't bother going any further as it… Read more
will not start, can assume now lacking compression?
Husqvarna 55, fresh fuel added and started easily as you would expect.
When China learn to go the extra bit with quality, they will keep up with the big names, too many shortcuts in my opinion. Want a cheap disposable machine, go for it!
Might pull a few bits off it and throw it in the bin to save someone else the frustration.
Baumr chain saw AG62SX, Not worth a cent – Do not buying one, they are the biggest heap of crap, bran new out off box, used it for just over an hr, never being able to start it again, email Baumr , never responded to my e-mail except two month before warranty expired, then Baumr delayed and delayed and then stated to me sorry no longer covered by warranty. Light Duty Saw – I have had the SX 62 for just over 12 months , starts easy, chain dulls easy, chain tensioner is no longer functioning and started to fail after about 6 months, chain brake no longer functions, I have cut about 3 tons of wood with it, the saw was always maintained. It has paid for itself but I am looking for a better known brand saw now. In my opinion is not the best saw for long term work, it is a disposable saw. Show details
Yes it has been good – The Ebay chainsaw has had a real workout over about 5 years. Starting is impressive EASY compared with other online stuff ie petrol whipper snipper from this online shop. It is still working and needs a new chain often $20 online $60 from Mower Shop!!!!!
Great saws for their price – Found it starts easy, have had mine for 6yrs now,the only fault i have had is the chain tensioner vibrates loose, its an easy fix by putting a small compresion spring on the tensioner bolt, also i found it likes to stretch chains and the bars have a tendency to wear with heavy cutting, but ive probably been harder on it then most, its cut close to 250… Read more

Worth the money - not the experience – How easy is it to start? Compared with other 'pull start' saws and devices it is 'weird' as I and 2 other people termed it. It is a spring that winds up on the pull then releases..(causes the motor turn fast) And feels somewhat flimsy. But so far starts after no more than 3 pulls. *1 when hot What sort of trees / branches do you use this chainsaw… Read more
on? Have tested it on green gum trees and aged stringy bark. It tends to get bark tangled between the outer case and chain which has to be cleared. No Stihl saw I've owned has ever had this problem- How well does this chainsaw cut large or hard branches? No problem on branches except this saw has to be handled carefully as the new chain tends to 'bight' on the upper cut. It could easily injure the untrained operator. The saw is also rather heavy and with a 25:1 oil mix is very smokey. The chain adjuster is very flimsy and should be cleaned to adjust. The clutch tend to slip unless revs are high. We purchase from Edisons online and received it without the chain bar included in the box...(from Sydney to NE Victoria it took a week) Then it took another week to receive the missing part. There is a spare part included in the box which we are still waiting for a reply as to what it is. (send a close up photo) So if you want a cheap chainsaw buy one. If you want reliability save some money and buy a Stihl. Though the lower end Stihls are made in China and the quality is not as it used to be.
Awesome saw, value for $$$ – I've had a sx62 mk3 for about 3 years now and I have used it a lot and I mean a lot. I regularly saw through hardwoods (redgum ,ironbark, yellow box, mallee) up to 18 inches in diameter. Starts after 3-4 pulls every time. As a guess I have cut up 40 tons of wood with it and it hasn't failed. Keep the chain sharp, don't hold the throttle wide open,… Read more
set the Carby mixture a bit rich and run it 30:1 oil ratio and it'll last. In a nutshell I've had few Chinese saws and this one takes the cake, in fact I saw them on sale and bought another for the future. I've even had a professional arborist comment on it's impressive performance.
Got one for 143 delivered – Have used 3 times and no dramas so far. For $143 cant fault it. Have used to cut Jarrah and some other gum trees for firewood. Chews through nearly as well as my old mans Husky 455 Rancher. Show details
