Leaks and trips the power – This has been a terrible iron. I've tried it on lots of different settings. It leaks water everywhere and is constantly tripping the power. Show details

Worked great until the cord blew up – This iron was great- heated up quickly, slid easily across all fabrics, and produced heaps of steam. Sadly at ~1 year old I could smell smoke while I was using it, so I sat it down to investigate and the cord started sparking from where it goes into the iron. I managed to de-energise it quickly and only ruined the ironing board cover in the… Read more

process.

For an iron that looks brand new I am a bit put off that it blew up so soon and in such spectacular fashion. All my other irons have clogged with scale or rust, and I’ve never had an iron try to burn the whole house down.

I couldn’t find my receipt so I am not sure what the warranty process would have been like, which is a shame because this iron wasn’t cheap.

Frustrating iron, leaks water badly – Given how much we paid for this iron, it's so frustrating that it spurts out water with monotonous regularity. Sick of having clothes only half ironed and there are areas of wet patches, not to mention how wet my ironing board gets. Show details

Worked great for a week – For the first week this iron was working great. Previous iron was a philips azure and the steam was never good. This Braun was ticking all the boxes with quick reheat, large water jacket and especially steam was plentiful and strong even on the level it was set at out of the box at level 3. Only issue i had was the handle was a little… Read more

loose and it was a bit hard to see the thermostat adjustment as its obscured by the handle and setting it was guess work.

So after a week the steam pretty much gave up. It would work ok straigt after the water tank was filled but within a few shots of steam it just wouldnt work as if the button was disconnected or something. Obviously the button was fine because once the water tank was refilled from say 3/4 tank to full the steam would be ok for a couple of shots again.

I was set to return the Braun iron to the good guys when the iron was accidently knocked over and the handle broke completely off rendering it useless.

Sorry i cant reccomend the Braun on my usage. Maybe i got a faulty one. Now to try find a new iron again.

Serviceable, but not much more – The Braun steam iron is adequate but not much more. It is well made and feels comfortable when in use with enough weight to it but is not overly heavy that it becomes tiring. Taking note of the advised heat settings it delivers a good flow of steam without drips. The steam flow gradations are a bit optimistic though with no steam evident from 1 to… Read more

2 but seems to come on vigorously from 3 onwards. It was not obvious if the flow of steam was greater at max (6) compared to 3. Similarly, it was hard to tell if the steam burst (Vario plus steam) delivers extra steam when using a steam setting, though if used with no steam and the burst was used, steam is produced but not much. A feature of the iron is Precision Shot which is meant to generate a strong burst of steam in the horizontal and vertical positions. It sort of works but is mostly rather feeble even at the max heat setting and priming it first. The manual shows steam being shot out of two nozzles at the front but this does not happen. In the vertical position it is useless and is unable to steam clothes hanging up, despite the claims made in the manual. Overall, it irons well enough but the extra steam settings are not particularly good.

Really happy with this item apart from a few small things – A nice shape that is comfortable to pick up and move around. May be a little heavy for people with arthritis. Irons smoothly, I've had it for about a year now and the plate is still nice and clean. The steam is strong, but you have to make sure you've got the right steam setting for the heat chosen or it will leak while ironing. Good range of… Read more

light heat to strong heat settings - although it took me a while to finally find the ironing heat guide on the bottom of the iron! A copy of this in the manual would be good.

The water cup provided is too small to be of any use, I'm not going to refill it a dozen times to fill up the iron once when I can use a large water jug instead. Either make the cup bigger or ditch it, it's now just a bit of plastic rubbish for me. Also a bit stupid that although the iron can only be filled from the horizontal position, the water fill measuring lines (including the one you're not supposed to go above) are only accurate when the iron is in the vertical position. So you add some water, turn the iron back up to measure, turn it back down to fill, turn it back up to measure etc :(.

Using the heat and steam levels correctly, the iron works perfectly on delicates and polyesters.

brilliant – the ONLY reason I bought this Braun, is that my 20yo Braun iron, which was working perfectly & never had any problems fell off my washing machine onto tiled floor, through vibration, & I think cracked the tank started to spit a little but hey, after 20 years and still going strong. Ironing is a breeze ! – FANTASTIC iron - about 18 months old now. Paid (approx.) $100 for it. I had one of those incredibly expensive $2,500 Ironing Systems, it broke down. Went to get a quote on fixing it, they said it was just the switch - quoted me $380 to fix it, with no warranty. I figured if I paid $100 for a completely new iron, and with a 1-year (or… Read more ·  1

2-year) Warranty, I'd be well ahead. Bought a BRAUN TEXSTYLE 7 PRO Series Steam Iron and it's FANTASTIC ! Much lighter and easier to manage than the large, very heavy 'other one' which I had. Plus the base it totally non-stick (not like the 'other one', which would have to be cleaned off on a regular basis). The steaming is wonderful and makes ironing really easy - even on creased cottons and linens. Sheets come up beautifully, as do denims ! I'm extremely happy with my iron, and would highly recommend it. Thanks, Braun !

Great Iron – Great iron which can be used to quickly iron shirts. The iron feels heavy at first, but the glide which is provided by the high quality sole plate makes the ironing quick and easy. Very happy with this product. Show details

Bad design – The iron has a bad design fault. It is extremely difficult to hold the iron in a normal way without touching the spray button. This results in unwanted wet patches on items being ironed. A pity, because the iron works very well apart from that. Late addition to my review. The iron has started leaking and I have had to throw it away. Only two years of life!!! Show details

Too heavy. Piece of Junk. Burns clothing – I’ve hated this iron from the moment my husband bought it for me. Too heavy. Inconsistent temperature. Disappointed with maintenance – Purchased this iron because it got so many positive reviews 3 years ago. Lately, it has stopped working with my Robinhood ironing stations and appears to switch OFF unexpectedly, whilst 'flashing' the red heating bubble at the base of the iron. Tried to contact / email Braun in OZ -- after days got the information that these irons are now being… Read more

maintained by DeLonghi. Directed my query there - no help whatsoever!! Just a requirement for model info, and other information not relevant to my QUESTION: is there a problem with the iron of with my Robinhood? It is expensive calling out an electrician -- would want to do this only if there is no other solution. -- So, used the iron happily for 3 years .... but now might look for an Australian Made one (if there is one).

Good steam iron – I am satisfied with the amount of steam expelled. It is a bit bulky but it's heaps better than the Kambrook one I was using earlier. It is made in Europe so it's better quality build. Show details

Died at 2years old – Very disappointed to have to buy a new iron after only 2 years. It was great while it worked- heated up quickly, no water leakage once hot, auto shut off and textile protector was great on delicate and black fabric. But 2 years (almost to the day) it started smoking after about 1hr of ironing and now won't heat up when I turn it on. I won't be buying another Braun iron. Show details

2yrs of everyday ironing and still working as new – This iron puts all previous irons including the last 4 top of the range Tefal irons to absolute shame. The sapphire sole plate still looks brand new and glides exactly the same. The iron doesn't leak while ironing at all, although patience is needed till iron has fully heated otherwise it will leak. Show details

Does the job without any issues – It's lightweight and gets the job done. Myself and my housemates all use it with no issues and no complaints. No reported leakages, heats up quickly, and goes into "sleep mode" automatically when left on, which is a helpful safety feature. No amazing whiz bang features, but meets expectations for a base model. Would buy again. Show details

Works as expected – This iron is decent, can't say its the best iron but it does its job. From time to time, the iron does leak. It does work well on all different types of fabric and I would say its quiet reliable as I have had other irons and they have no lasted that long. Overall, performs well enough for what its meant to do. Show details

Broke at 3 and a half years – It was a good machine as it did a very good job. But it just worked for 3.5 years then it stop heating. At a $98 (on sale) it should have last longer. Called 2 repair shops, they said the part to repair would have been the hotplate and there is no parts available. Seems to be that Braun uses closed parts that can't be open therefore the only option is to throw away the iron and get a new one. More waste. Show details

Linen Perfect – At last an iron that really does get hot enough to iron pure linen and pure cotton. Since purchasing this iron my steam generator iron has been left untouched and all my ironing has been done with the Braun. It is heavier than most similar irons making it ideal for those fabrics which require pressing as well as heat. The soleplate has a good… Read more

pattern of steam holes and lots of them. There is a sliding scale control for the amount of steam produced. The instructions say that the soleplate should be cleaned with steel wool which I haven't had to put to the test yet as it is still clean and smooth. Nor have I had to use the anticalc system as yet. It has an open ended handle which is a prop for the iron when on its heel rest. I was unsure about this when I first saw pictures of the product but it has not been a problem. The water cup is larger than usual and its triangular shape makes it very easy to grip and pour for my somewhat arthritic hands. The cord is about 2.5 metres in length. An excellent purchase for me!

Anti-dripping however start dripping so much the first moment when I used it – As per my title, I bought the iron "TexStyle 7 Steam Iron with Eloxal Solepl" from goodguy few days ago and pickup yesterday. As I was using it, the water start dripping from the holes. Really bad. Now, I have to travel back again to the shop for refund and at the moment I do not have the times. So felt really let down with the product. Show details

Very disappointed – I bought this iron just over 2 years ago and was pretty happy with it most of the time. It did leak at times if not on the hottest setting and is quite heavy but I coped. Unfortunately today the iron is not heating up. The light blinks and then nothing! I would have thought a reputable brand like Braun would last much longer than this. Very disappointed and unsure if ai would purchase again. Show details

Very good, but did not last as long as expected – I have been very happy with this iron but it has recently stopped heating. Had it lasted longer I'd have given it 5 stars. Cafe (check these out on the web for one near you) as it was out of warranty so had nothing to lose. Long story short, it needed a replacement part but sadly these are no longer available. Now it will go to landfill, like many other items that are irreparable these days. I'll probably replace the iron with a Tefal or Phillips, and will be looking for a longer warranty period.

If you have to iron this is the one ! – Nobody likes ironing but if you need to this is the one to get. It is ergonomically design for ease of use and works equally well on a range of materials. irons clothes quite well – Bought this iron reluctantly, to replace a Sunbeam Ultura that we had for around 15 years, so sad, as it was the best iron that we had ever owned. the best that was on offer for what we wanted to pay. It was one of the lighter irons on the current market. The only negative is that your hand/fingers can sometimes knock the temp control that is under the handle, so not really the best design. Very efficient with water use, compared to our old Sunbeam. While it glides OK, it is not as good as our previous iron. The auto switch off is good for safety.

Best Iron Ever – This is the best iron I have ever owned. I mainly use the iron for business shirts. The reason this is the best iron is the steam function works the way it should. On other irons, when you lower the steam setting you get water dripping out the bottom because the heat in the iron can't turn it to steam. On the Braun it doesn't happen at any level. This alone can justify the price and my 5 star review. Show details
