I purchased a commercial unit from Nick Georgalis/Geocon. The unit was advertised as all expenses paid by tenant. A couple of days before signing of contract Geocon lawyers amended the lease with the effect of all expenses being now paid by owner. In the process the unit was devalued by about $200,000 and my income halved. Beware of this company. No ethics. No scruples. Show details

Already 7 months after the settlement, lots of defects haven't been fixed. Don’t waste your time or money!! – The prices are higher than the actual value. The 5% deposit incentive they offer is them putting the price up 5% on the contract so they aren’t losing anything. ‘as part of your contract chips, cracks etc are not our responsibility after settlement”. So basically they can put dents in your walls after the pre-settlement inspection and there is nothing you can do about it! It is a joke!

The in house mortgage broker was the most incompetent person I have ever dealt with and caused so much more stress than was necessary. Further, they gave me a voucher for conveyancing however at settlement neither solicitor (who were terrible) or Geocon would honour it so I had to pay an unexpected $1600 last minute!

Unfortunately I should have done more research before I signed anything with this company.

Save your money and stress levels and go with another company!

The build quality is very good, and for the few defects we've reported during the 90-day defect period, the staff have been very efficient in dealing with them, and the tradies that have fixed the defects have been very friendly and professional. very happy with the way the property looks aesthetically as well as has been presented for pre-settlement inspection with minimal defects being found which I’m sure will be fixed come settlement day. I am very happy with the process of purchasing my first investment through Geocon and would highly recommend them!!

inbox through STRATA. Geocon is walking away from the issue if i try to contact. This was well covered under the 90 days DLP period. And I do not see the purpose of drying carpets for $8,000 when they were eventually replaced. Now both Geocon and STRATA Raine & Horne are fabricating things to pass the cost to me. I am now taking it legally and Geocon would not assist.

We were apprehensive about buying off the plan as we had heard of people having bad experiences, this was not our experience with Geocon. and was attentive with following up loose ends and diligent in covering off contractual requirements, going above and beyond. Though my initial dealings with Geocon where disappointing Mr Fisher more than made up for it when he took over.

Great first apartment! – The build quality was okay, builders were flexible with plans which lead to a few mistakes. Had a lot of issues with plumbing from the first day I moved in and kept occurring every few months. It seems to be fixed now but the bathroom plumbing is still not the best. Customer service and support was great, Matt and the staff were very quick with responding to any issues I had and always followed up ensuring they had been looked at.

Satisfied Customer – Extremely happy overall but what made that so much easier was the support from Mat and staff. Mat and his guys were exceptional in every aspect. Minor issues were corrected/fixed as soon as they were notified. He and his staff were so professional and friendly. Good-Great Experience with Geocon – I was pleasantly surprised as to the workmanship and build quality-exceeded my expectations. The two people that I deal with about defects were good at communicating with me about them and took steps to sort out the defects in a timely manner. Unit off the plan, good for first time buyer(s) – Purchased a unit off the plan in 2014 and moved in approximately 9months later. Initially there were a few defects but these were only minor cosmetic items, all of which were fixed promptly by the friendly staff at Geocon. Having lived in the apartment complex for 2 years all is going well and we have had no further issues with the overall build quality provided by the Geocon team.  Show details

Dodgy and Con - should be new names for GEOCON – Personally, GEOCON is dodgy builder in canberra. Since start to finish I had so many issues with Geocon: 1. with proofs then they rectified the issues otherwise no body in Geocon care to look into the approved plans.

3. Customer Service is very very poor. never reply back on time and never fixed the issue on time.

4. 90day warranty period is over but geocon did not fix the pending issues.

5. If I reported the issues, the managers starting arguing rudely and started threatening that my house will be put on hold and never complete.

6. When I tried to report it to their CEO, CEO refused to meet or listen to my issues. Very BAD on CEO, if CEO is like that what customer should expect from other people in the company.

7. Building Manager never noted down the changes and tradies were doing what they want. All the time I have to remind them what to do.

8. False promises were made on handing over the house. The house(single storey 220sqm approx) was finshed in 10months with lot many issues like water leakage from kitchen, powder room, laundary, paint issues, window locks broken, front door started fading in 2-3months etc etc...

9. Very bad and cheapest quality products were used in my house.

10. Verge area was not rolled over and my refund bond got rejected. Geocon damaged the verge but did not fix it.

11. Since start to finish - I was not confident even single time that GEOCON knows what they are doing.

12.Constructing with GEOCON CONSTRUCTORS was NIGHTMARE. THANK GOD IT'S OVER.

13. Flyscreens were broken or holes in them.

If you would like to see NIGHTMARE then please go ahead and select GEOCON CONSTRUCTORS.

Initially buyer feels that Geocon is selling cheaper but at the end it comes out to be much expensive and all bad/worse quality with no happiness.

Not sure why and who gave GEOCON building license. Even developers in Developing Countries are much much much better than GEOCON CONSTRUCTORS.

When we got the house, we submitted 90 days maintenance report, and now 3 months after we submitted the report, still no response, no phone number to call, no one to talk to ! And guess what, they got all the funds so why do they even bother !

We talked with other neighbours in the area who also built with Geocon, everyone had the exact or worse experience than ours ! Amazing that HIA even gives license to this company.

Con is certainly a word for them – We bought an off the plan unit from Geocon. Very very disappointed about the final product. couple of weeks of moving in. Locks not working including our front door so we could not use that door until it was fixed. Poorly built door, some with a 10cm gap from the bottom. No sealent around the tiles in the laundry. None of our windows or external doors are level. Only found this out when we purchased blinds. The poor blind guy had to get someone else to re measure because they could not believe how crooked the windows were!!!!!! Still chasing them to finish items on our defect list, have been handed over to different people who don't respond to messages. I certainty would not recommend them for any project.

Geo-Con – These guys are terrible, when you have a problem with your property they take ages to respond, did a patchy job with my roof, cracks all through my concrete, hole in a wall when i got my property and they said i did it! Beware I never would have purchased a property from them if i knew how bad they were!

Disappointing – We bought a house and land package from Geocon recently. Needles to say that we were very disappointed with their build quality. Our driveway had cracks, was uneven. roof within the first six months of moving it. We tried to contact them on a number of occasions, by email and phone, but they never bothered to fix it.We had to hire someone else in the end to fix it. We also wanted some extra inclusions in our place but two weeks before the handover, they turned around and said that they can't do it. They are dodgy. I would stay away from them and would not recommend them to anyone.
