Best Honda I have had – I have had 6 Honda's over the last 20 odd years. This has proven to be the best. It drives well, comfortable for long journeys and city/suburban driving. Averages 8.7 litres per 100 kls. Speedo reading is now a spot under 100,000 kls, I have just replaced original tyres. I bought it new in 2016 and have had it regularily serviced, although during… Read more · 1
COVID it was difficult as the dealership I bought the car from was removed as a preferred Honda Dealership and Honda wouldn't honour my warranty when the front drivers seat developed a small tear in the leather. I finally had it repaired by a automotive upholsteror at a cot of $300. The vehicle still responds well when required and is still serviced with Honda parts. One major drawback is the GPS, which is out of date and expensive to update.
Honda Accord 2009 V6. Engine problem at 78000kms – At relatively low mileage with all servicing completed, motor needs to be replaced which I am advised is common problem with Honda V6. Would like to hear from others that may have same problem Show details
Constant Gearbox issues – I bought a 2016 Accord V6L and within a few weeks I noticed a gentle rattling noise when the car was parked in idle. When I took the car to Northern Honda they diagnosed it as having a loose clutch plate. So they had to remove the gearbox, disassemble it, replace the plate and re-assemble the gearbox. This cost me $3300 in total. Only months… Read more
after this issue, the gearbox stopped engaging in reverse gear. Now the issue is so bad that it has caused the engine management light to come on.
This car has been the bane of my existence. With one issue after another. The Honda Accord is supposed to be the gold standard for reliability and dependability and yet my sister has had far less issues with her new Range Rover then with my car. I think I have just been unlucky, as I have had no other issues and the car has performed well otherwise.

Pleasant surprise coming from BMW's – Well I had my reservations coming from multiple BMW's. I have always loved Honda motorcycles so I gave the accord a look. Found a 2006 model with only 80,000km on it in 2017 and in absolutely pristine condition. Black leather seats with electric adjustment and fog lights. I expected it to be reliable but I had no idea they are so refined and… Read more
beautifully crafted. It feels like a quality vehicle, right up there with BMW's but without the feeling of imminent faults. The engine is a masterpiece given that it's a mass-produced Malaysian model and the feel through the steering and comfort is sublime. Smooth, comfortable yet somehow still fun to drive. Toyota Camry's, their main competitor, are absolutely soulless in comparison. These Accords are an unsung hero of the mass-produced automotive world. I am sure the V6 would be a hoot, but to be honest, the 2.4 is totally adequate and a perfect match for this brilliant car. I can't see myself going back to German/European after this.
Accord V6 2017 Terrible technology - Bluetooth connectivity has a lot of issues - Don't buy it – Hi, I have just bought Honda Accord 2017 last week and it has a lot of issues with the navigation/audio unit manufactured by Clarion. Despite a lot of people complaining about it on the Internet Honda seems not willing to do anything about it. While it was firstly acknowledged by the dealership they soon switched the tone to that it will not be… Read more
fixed after they approached honda and clarion and realized that they are not willing to do aything about it.
While my phone is connected to the car bluetooth system I can't make any data call through any voip app. I had managed to find a workaround yet it does not work every time. Also for the normal phone calls , everytime you have to press the bluetooth icon on the phone to get the audio over the car system. !!
Now the car is less than a week old , it has been to the car service twice and I have already a case opened with Honda
00243712.
Please advice if you have the same issue so as we can take collective action if the matter reached the court.
Will keep updating this post with Honda's feedback.
Accord V6 - Great Car – Updated current generation 4 cylinder series 1 to V6 series 2 - best thing I ever did. Series 2 is a far more refined car and the advanced technology is far superior to the 2014 model it replaced. Extremely happy with the V6 and 6 speed combo, I personally won't go back to the 2.4 again in an Accord and the fuel economy is similar in any case. … Read more
Android Auto working seamlessly and voice recognition works nearly every time.
After also owning an Accord Euro, both of my Accords finishings have been a little disappointing by comparison, the lack of attention to detail from the Bangkok factory is evident.
Motor reviewers have been a little critical of its ride and handling, however, it has to be kept in mind the market Honda are after with this car, so I beg to differ. I am 100 percent satisfied with both 9th gen accords I have owned.
Technology and feature set is superior to other cars in this market and Honda often trump European manufacturers in this area.
Accords come standard with Michelin tyres in Australia, (at least the top of the range ones do). These are excellent tyres which last longer, but the biggest advantage I found with them was they remain grippy even in the wet until its time to replace them.
Many modern cars suffer from confusing interior layouts with cheap buttons placed in areas seemingly where a gap could be found. Nothing like that with the new Accords, they are a clean well designed layout with the driver in mind, and there are no cheap and tacky buttons on the steering wheel or elsewhere, they are indeed classy.
Seats are excellent and I far perfer these seats over Camry or Commodore. Legroom is outstanding and the car has the room to hold 3 in the back seat.
Dislikes include the annoyance of no felt lining in glovebox, centre console or sunglass holder. As a consequence, anything in any of these areas rattles and is prone to damage. I personally fix this by purchasing felt from Spotlight and sticking it into these areas, but for a 58K car, that's not acceptable.
Carpet (if you can call it that) is cheap.
Door welds and other finishings not of high quality
Not a lot of space to store items
Price - I believe this is the fundamental reason this car does not sell well in Australia
There has been some criticism of Honda Accord dual screen setup, but I beg to differ. I am a fan of this layout for a few reasons, but one of those is that Honda's excellent lanewatch system does not interfere or squeeze the navigator when driving, such as in the Civic. I understand that the 10th gen will drop the second screen to one larger one, we'll see I guess.
Some more creativity in the Android based information screen would be nice. Perhaps Honda could be a little more imaginative in creating apps if they want to continue with full restrictions in adding Google Play apps.
Overall though, I rate the V6 model 5/5, its a great car to drive & own and I look forward to the 10th generation being released.

Spacious, good handling and interior quality is high – Mine is a V6 full spec model. I should say that the interior quality is top notch. All surface of the doors are soft. The center arm rest is very soft too. The VCM saves some fuel and the gas mileage is good for an engine of this size. However, the front passenger seat is not the best. Feels like sitting in a pit. Wish it had height… Read more
adjustability. Driver seat is marginally better due to height adjustment. This car is not suitable for long drives and older drivers.
The feel is good and it handles really well. Responsive and good feed back from steering.

A peice of metal trim bordering windscreen flew off and had to be replaced ( faulty glue) cost $220. HONDA have lost the art of making a fine car. Interior design was comfortable and adequate. The stereo sound system is good.
Lemon - Unreliable car - Stay Away – I have owned Honda for about 7 years, always serviced from agency and around 90000 km. The engine spark plugs got oil in them at 95000 and engine is about to cease. For a car that has done 90000 K this is absolutely a lemon and will recommend customers to stay away from such a car. SUCH A DISAPPOINTMENT. SHAME ON HONDA.
4 banger Accord – The Accord 4 cylinder is a noisy, squeaky affair. The car emits a low whistle when you hit the brakes, thereby depriving you of the enjoyment of driving in peace and quiet. I took it back to Palladino Honda in Sudbury and they gave me a Hyundai Sonata in its place. The Sonata is a much better car. I just could not get over the noise. It… Read more

leaky power steering pump at about 80,000 kms ($380 for a rebuild at a Honda dealer) and an alternator failure at 110,000 kms (about $700 by independent mechanic). Apart from those two items a joy to drive. Just make sure to put the RIGHT oil in the engine and gearbox and this is such a magnificent and rewarding car.
Last real Accord you can buy in Australia – Best Accord you can buy in Australia, with descent power (V6 206kw, 0-100 6.5 sec) and pretty good engine sound, modern technology (adaptive cruise control, radar). history) now 180k km, not a single issue, just regular maintenance. You can do 100% all services yourself if you keen, car very easy to work on. So, if you looking for family size stylish sedan, with a Japanese realibility and sports character V6 Accord will be the best option to buy. P.S. one thing I don't like: Transmission shifting quite slow, compared to modern automatic. However V6 comes with a 6 speed auto, will last forever.

on the contrary, parts are readily available from OEM to third party parts. One of the best honda i've ever owned so far. Negative points, car has rattles on the rear parcel shelve and has a mysterious leak on the rear door sill driver's side. Also, when changing the starter motor, make sure you buy OEM one as the car doesn't like 3rd party ones. You'd have the occasional CKP code error even if you've changed the sensor itself. I've come to live with it by resetting it when it appears using a scan tool.
