Original meeting and quote with Mark in Hobart was great. Communication was very good. Disappointed with uplift from Hobart to Launceston. Unfortunately I was not there to supervise but they were instructed to pack and remove everything. They seemed unaware that packing had been included in the quote. They said they tried to contact me but there… Read more
were no missed calls or messages. Most of the boxes were not labelled so it was a bit of a guessing game for myself and the two guys at this end as to what room they belonged in. These two guys went above and beyond. The Hobart crew left quite a large number of items behind. Most annoyingly two tv remotes which I had to replace and a vacuum cleaner. Thankfully Mark returned and removed everything that was left behind. These items arrived almost 3 weeks after my move. The Launceston guys were extremely helpful and friendly again with this delivery. The tv remotes were there but no vacuum cleaner. Why the TV remotes weren’t packed with TV’s still beggars belief. Mark is currently following up and the search is still on for the missing vacuum cleaner. To say I’m unhappy with the service from Hobart apart from Mark would be an understatement. Unlike their Launceston counterparts.
Tiago and Hugo were amazing and so helpful, everything is in perfect condition and they worked very hard going up and down those stairs! Very grateful and definitely recommend their services Show details
I received a written quote. They moved me in last Friday. At that time they told me that half my furniture was still in Sydney. They had damaged some items of furniture and wasn't given the option to claim for that damage. It has now been over a week. I have rang and messaged numerous times and I have received no phone calls or messages as to when… Read more
I am getting the rest of my furniture. The guys that delivered my furniture at Kalkallo Vic were fantastic. Its a shame they work for a scrap and unprofessional company such as Kent. I did receive a phone call from Kent but it was them trying to get me to pay an extra $900 for excess goods. It was a written quote based on what the sales rep saw. I informed her that there was an extra bed and chest of drawers to be picked up from my sisters nearby and the quoter said that was fine. They wrote that extra payment off based on what I said. It was a written quote. It is a trap, unprofessional company and i wish I went with someone else.

Could not be happier! – Very happy with this service, everything ran as per schedule and without stress. Uplift was quicker than expected (we had horrible access to the property - kudos to the guys who worked quickly and carefully under the rain!) scratches here and there as expected when moving things! KEY MESSAGE: if you’re looking at relocating, make sure to pack your stuff properly! That’s what saves your belongings! Make sure you use butcher paper to fill out your boxes so they don’t get squeezed and that you use proper boxes too! These guys really do the best they can to look after your stuff! Competitive fees too which is a bonus!
Interstate - Door to Door – The Team from Hobart to Brisbane were fantastic. Especially Mark Mansell from the Bridgewater TAS Depot. Best People – Move wasn’t to big in regards to furniture BUT a heck of a lot of storage boxes AND they packed all my fine china & glasswear. So very professional & friendly as we chatted all the way thru it. They not only removed but stored our property which was an ease of mind to both myself & my husband. Our worst ever move – Our 3BDR home interstate move (ADL to MEL) with Kent was the worst experience with a removal company we have ever had, and we've moved more than a dozen times intrastate and interstate. I'm loathe to leave one-star reviews, and this is the first time I've done so -- and I feel our experience and dismal service completely warrants such a… Read more
conclusion.
Two main items (one fully insured) were damaged in transit, and while only one was insured, the reassured us they would do everything to make things right. But ultimately they refused to fix both items, despite repeated assurances -- even the insured couch!
For the day of moving in, Kent demanded access from 7am (despite us living 2 hours from their depot) -- so we were at our new home early. Not only did they not turn up on time -- but they didn't show up at all, or even call us to say they weren't coming (and we were the first job of the day, it's not like they were delayed elsewhere). We waited in an empty house for hours and had to chase them up repeatedly by telephone, only to be eventually told they didn't even have our container in the state! Yet they had only called the afternoon prior to confirm everything. That meant a night sleeping on the floor on temporary bedding.
Four separate staff members promised the operations manager would call us -- which never happened within the promised time frame and only eventually happened after our continual follow-up. Two items that were disassembled by Kent when packed up were refused to be reassembled -- and damaged in transit.
We even had to point out they'd left our kitchen sliding door sitting against the back fence (and in their rush to put it back on, didn't even do it properly, so it wouldn't close -- we had to fix that ourselves).
We also found Kent's rubbish from the day of packing up (used label sheets) dumped in our bedroom furniture. While the pic here shows 2 x 20-ft containers, everything fit into just one.
The communication was great up until the day they were supposed to move us in.
Their "go the extra mile" claim leaves a very bitter taste. Will never use them again. Terrible service; I would leave ZERO stars if that was possible.
I'm sure too Ken's marketing team will be quick to point out all of their spin, and tell us about the concerns of senior management -- but we've already been through that -- and come out without any satisfaction at all.
Use Kent if you enjoy stress, poor communication & unreliable service I had a very disappointing experience with Kent Removalists and would not recommend their service. Things only got worse with delivery. The original delivery date in VIC was changed multiple times without any proactive communication. I was first told it would arrive 2 days earlier than scheduled, and then the day before that revised date, I had to take urgent annual leave to accommodate.
On the actual day, no one contacted me at all. I had to follow up myself, only to be told the delivery was postponed to the following Monday due to a so-called “safety concerns.” Had I not called, I would not have been informed.
The final delivery ended up being scheduled 3 days later than the agreed contract date. A manager later admitted it was in fact a system error, not the "safety concerns" explanation originally provided.
While a 10% partial refund was eventually offered after escalation, the impact had already been significant. I was forced to take three separate days of annual leave, repeatedly explaining the situation to my employer, which understandably reflects poorly on me.
Overall, this experience reflects a serious lack of communication, accountability, and operational reliability. For a service that is supposed to reduce the stress of moving, this created the exact opposite.
The only exception was Rodney Spink, the sales representative, who was the only one to communicate proactively throughout the process.
Worst experience moving in my life. Moved one bedroom house worth (20m cubed) about half a container, interstate from Brisbane to Tasmania plus a car. Paid $9,000 including insurance. Pick up crew mishandled fragiles, were rude, loaded container in a manner that we believed would cause damage and were dismissed. They did it fast and seemed rushed.… Read more
The delivery came on time, when the container was opened everything had shifted and was leaning. The dryer had been dented, the washing machine hose was cracked bc had not been secured properly, and our expensive TV was cracked when we unboxed it. Our car arrived early but refused to deliver to our door as promised and we met them in town to get it, it was filthy looked like been sitting in a lot for a month, rock chips on side. When we attempted to make a claim for the broken furniture the claims department treated us like we were trying to scam them, asking for more and more evidence then stating they didn’t receive it and then refusing to pay for replacements, only emailed never called, very impersonal. Took a week or more to finally get a manager to call us and negotiate a fair payment for replacement/repairs which barely covered it. Didn’t even pay for delivery fee of the new TV which was subpar compared to our TV. Very distressing experience and would not recommend them.

I recently engaged Kent Removals and Storage to pack and transport my belongings from Townsville. delivery. It has been condemned due to severe mishandling. The entire chassis has been twisted to the extent that none of the doors or drawers can shut. The body has been strapped so tightly it is dented, and the technician confirmed it is beyond repair and must be disposed of.
Two beautiful antique furniture pieces, each handed over in perfect condition, were delivered back to me in seven separate pieces. Numerous other items arrived broken, and several have not arrived at all. I paid for all items to be wrapped and packed.
All items are numbered and marked with a consignment list provided. Whole boxes have gone missing. It is not hard to track down these boxes.
I have repeatedly contacted the company by phone and email seeking assistance and an explanation, yet I have been met with complete silence. They just seem not to care.
I was contacted to provide feedback for the service provided by [Name Removed], General Manager International. That was a week ago. Again, I am met with a deafening silence on the feedback.
Companies like Kent Removals should exercise a duty of care. Some damage can be expected but not to the scale I have experienced. There is no excuse for not receiving items that were loaded at the source. I hope this can be explained by a simple mistake. However, the company has not been communicative. I can only conclude the worst.
I will never use this company again, nor would I ever recommend them to anyone. Extremely disappointed.

space and storing and stacking was a work of art. What caused us problems was that the estimator that quoted on the work made a couple of mistakes and that ended up costing us time and money. What further disappointed was that administration/head office accounts pretended to listen and then when they realised that they weren't going to convince me that I was mistaken, they pretented that I was abusive on the call and chose to hang up on me. When I rang back a senior manager came on the line and a similar process occurred, but this time that person said to me mate you can have that additional cost we billed you back, but you deal with moving what we left behind, you choose. I held back from posting this because I did not want to have the removalist team blamed for something that wasn't caused by them.
Follow-up · the moving team where efficient diligent and in good spirits for the task, but whatever anyone says don't allow them to go until all items on the manifest/the items to be moved are moved. Very disappointing experience with Kent, unfortunately. morning of our house sale settlement. In the end after much discussion I cancelled the booking and asked for a full refund. A very stressful and important time for my family was made so much worse by Kent Removals. No formal apology or accountability was offered by management. Never again.
I booked with Kent to move interstate from Brisbane to Melbourne. From a house to a house, single person's worth of items, requiring a 10 cubic metre container. and knowledgeable, and offered some good advice about how to pack my items.
The quoted price was reasonable, not the cheapest quote I had but not too far off, but they were also able to make the move work within a better timeframe. I also liked that the storage container would be brought directly the the house as to minimise handling of the items.
The actual removalists themselves ended up being the issue. They treated my items with very little care. Every box was labelled "this way up" but were just placed upside down at their convenience. Boxes that were marked fragile were treated no differently from any other item. When the boxes arrived many were crushed, or torn open, with dirt and dust inside. Items that didn't come in a box was bent out of shape. I had been told I was over cautious with the amount of bubble wrap, packing paper and packing peanuts I used but in the end it was probably the only thing that saved a few of my items.
The movers themselves on arrival noted the damage to some of the items, in particular a sideboard that was completely destroyed. They took photos of this themselves and told me that someone from Kent would be in contact with me soon to sort this out. Kent never contacted me. I sent a few emails, none of which received a reply. When I got through over the phone they told me that I only had until the next day to submit an insurance claim because I contacted them so late. This was difficult because I am currently interstate away from home for work, not able to properly assess, catalogue or photograph the complete array of damages. The insurance claim ended up being denied as with the damages I knew about/had been able to document 2 weeks ago, and could accurately gauge the costs or repair or replacement for didn't quite reach the excess threshold. The way the company seems to use the excess threshold is "this is how much damage we're allowed to do".
I found it all rather disappointing as I had other good quotes that were well reviewed, but Kent really won me over with their in-person assessment, but when the actual movers came they did none of the things he said they would in terms of actually looking after my property. Their communication after the fact has also been terrible. I just wish I had gone with a different company instead.
WARNING* Do not use kent storage to store your furniture in there container for long-term, they are happy to take your money and store it. But after 3 years you want to take it out of storage it takes forever to get out, waiting on quotes they quoted 2 different prices told me there was a busy period over the Christmas break, waited and.ended up being a lie and more expensive. (English accent) was so rude. I couldn't fault the movers, the packers I can't determine until I receive our possessions. As for receiving I was told 2 weeks, by several different people. "We do a lot of moves to Tassie and we have our own people on the ground". So far I've called twice to determine an approximate delivery date. Given I'd been told 2 weeks I didn't think that was unreasonable. Both times I was told that the Operations Manager would be contacted and I'd receive a call before close of business. Both times noone has called me. It's extremely disappointing to have to leave this review but sometimes it's the only way to get a response.
Do not write a review after your initial furniture pick up. All might seem fine at this stage. Wfait until your furniture has been delivered for the full horror to be revealed. only after extensive chasing up on our part that the furniture was delivered from storage on the due date. Kent seemed to have forgotten all about it.
Actual delivery was late in the day and a very rushed job. While two of the crew were good, the third team member was careless or incompetent to say the least. Then the damage was revealed. An antique glass cabinet was extensively damaged, a buffet was chipped on one of the edges and a floor lamp was broken. These issues were reported by the delivery team but nothing happened from Kent. A further call to Kent by us revealed only silence.
All we got from their call centre was that we should have had insurance. Inurance should be agaist unforeseen events not against the company's negligence. A removals company has a responsibility to be careful and not outsource this to insurance for which the customer pays handsomely.

address the issues we have had! We feel that they have washed their hands of us. Our initial quotation was done via video and the quote was grossly over priced, we have been refunded. Our expensive art was meant to be put in "Art Packs" didn't happen! We have various scratches all on our canvases. Our expensive one-off glass sculpture was packed with kitchenware, thank goodness I noticed this before they loaded it, to boot it wasn't wrapped properly either. They packed items that were not meant to be packed, which cased issued for us whilst waiting for our delivery which was a week and a half later. Our wine fridge had its door handle damaged, where it is unusable as it wont seal. Our couch has a huge dent in it, lampshades have been bent and you can see the lines in the shades. Our washing machine has been damaged, along with various other items. We have been ignored by Kent and it is truly a very disappointing experience. On a positive, Packing boxes were delivered promptly, and we were assured that the upload team would have plenty on them, as we ran out of boxes. We didn't have much left to pack, but they didn't! The upload team, we thought at the time were ok, we put up with swearing and putting down of the company. They thought that a company was paying for our move until they were told the opposite, this comes down to the care of our belongings. They asked for a review of their performance, we had decided to wait until we received our belongings, it will not be favourable. The way we have been spoken to has been terrible. In a nutshell don't bother with Kent.
Update, We are being ignored by the insurance department, to us they have taken our money in "Good Faith" and refuse to answer our emails!!! We live in Vic and gave us a contact for NSW its very poor service (in my opinion). Our next step is to contact consumer affairs, very very sad outcome.

They can’t even give the basics of pricing. A simple question like ‘how much is it to move good from Melbourne to Perth, per cubic meter?’ Was met with absolute confusion. I just don’t understand. It is a simple equation. M3 x cost per m3 = total. All I got was a ‘sorry, we don’t work like that’. Companies like this should result in regulatory investigations Show details
I contracted Kent to move furniture from Sydney to Noosaville Qld. chairs as well as a courtyard table. In the last 3 days no one from Kent has called with an update. After emailing and calling the customer service team several times over the past few days I realise thats because they have no idea where the missing items are. The furniture is going into rental accommodation and I have just had to cancel a booking which is going to cost me $2,000. Kent were quick to advise that I can’t get any compensation as I didn’t take out the insurance. Apparently the contract to move the furniture is not binding if you don’t take out the insurance. They actually don’t have to deliver. Never again.
We paid over $16,000 for our interstate move with Kent and the service was far below what was promised. We also had to move a large portion of our belongings ourselves due to lack of staff.
The most concerning issue was receiving a completed and signed Inventory Condition Report later that afternoon - we never saw, reviewed, or authorised this signature. It even marked items as delivered in good condition that were not loaded and were damaged during uplift.
For the price we paid, this experience was extremely disappointing, and we will be escalating this further with ACT Fair Trading. I CANNOT recommend Kent Relocation Group based on our experience.
Sought a quote with Kent for interstate removal, original quote was around $4k, the received tax invoice for $12,500, clearly original quote was incorrect but I didn’t so much as receive an apology and no one would return my calls, just a series of terse emails. What bothered me most wasn’t just the time or the price, but the outcome. My washing machine was damaged during the move and the table they took apart and reassembled has never been the same – it wobbles every time we sit down. The two guys who came were polite enough and didn’t have a bad attitude, but they seemed quite inexperienced and not very organised, and it really showed in how the day went and how our things ended up.
