need to use the BedMATCH system again due to the first time being inaccurate, Either user error or it just being crap- My opinion.

One of the next mattresses recommended using the BedMATCH system was a King Coil Chiro Response Mattress. Over the first few weeks the mattress felt a little firm as expected for a brand new mattress but never really got any better.

As time went on it started to feel even less comfortable, I noticed it was starting to sag on one side and you could start to feel the springs through the topper. The mattress has been rotated as specified by the store but that made zero difference. Its no wonder it has been Discontinued, From what i am reading in various review forums the feedback has been overwhelmingly negative.

We are now having to go through this entire process again, We could have just kept the original mattress and had the same sleep experience and saved 3 thousand dollars.

Not a great deal.

The mattress is so badly snagged now that you sleep on an angle and feel like you are constantly straining to sleep straight. I have resorted to sleeping in the spare room on a 10 year old Sealy Balmain mattress which has none of these issues and causes me no pain or discomfort.

How can a product be so expensive and such a fail? Reading the warranty information, it appears they have it well covered that this is "normal" and would not be considered a defect or manufacturer problem. I highly disagree as the mattress isn't even 3 years old and is completely ruined.

Not sure about other King Koil products but I would not purchase anything from this brand again.

Bought for the spare bed an upgraded the main bed too – Kingcoil Chiro deluxe medium purchased from Forty Winks Crows Nest for the spare room. Have had for 2 months and just bought another for the main room. This is softer than my old hard Sealy but beautifully supportive. people seem to complain about feeling too hot in this bed? I am a hot sleeper but always have good quality cotton bedding and lately cotton/bamboo sheets and mattress protector and have never had a problem. The bed provides great back support and I look forward to many years of comfort from this purchase.

The mattress was picked up today to be assessed by AH Beard under warranty. They have been good to deal with so far, so we are hoping for a good outcome. Unfortunately this mattress has been far inferior to other the other two AH Beards we've had previously (which are going strong in the spare rooms).

Ok short term mattress – Bought exactly 3 years ago. Gave good support for 2.5 years. Now sagging and obviously warranty cannot be proven. I weight ~90K and my wife ~60K. The worst mattress!! - complete failure - Not suprised AT ALL it has been discontinued. hubby & I slept was extreme & even unmistakable once made with a thick donna. The hollows in either side could still be seen. We both started to suffer severe back, neck & shoulder pain. My husband in particular developed sciatic problems over the following months due to the severity of it & i have on 1 occassion where the back pain became so aggravated had a nerve pinch & swell causing me to not be able to even stand upright for weeks (note - I spent those 3 wks sleeping on an old cheap mattress in the spare room which aided better in my recovery!). We contacted AH Beard & although it took several months the mattress was reviewed & fully replaced. Mattress No# 2 - within 12mths the 2nd mattress began to sag where we slept worse then our first one!! Same health problems were experianced by both of us. Again we contact AH Beard who this time instead of replacing sent the mattress off to be repaired. The mattress did come back within the predicted time frame but was suppose to be changed from the plush to the medium firmness setting at repair to which the repair report detailed nothing of & it was obvious when laying on it that it had not been changed & was still a plush setting. Also within 2WEEKS it had as you would guess sagged grossely again...worse then before repair. The springs also loudly pop under you when you turn in bed at night. They can be heard & felt all night long as soon as one of us move. AH Beard was contacted again & informed of all this & this time once we sent through all evidence & proof of purchase....months later....Not a single REPLY. Parents KING KOIL mattress purchased within weeks of ours. As you could guess they had the exact SAME problem with sagging. Their mattress was replaced & AGAIN within weeks the new one started sagging badly & causing them terribly pain due to being elderly. They at this point didnt even contact AH Beard just simply removed it to the dump & bought a different brand of mattress forfeiting the cost of the king koil mattress. ADDITIONAL INFO - I am 68kg & fit. My husband is 93kg & fit. We rotate our mattresses EVERY fortnight & follow ALL care instruction on these mattresses!! We always wake stiff, sore & unrested on this mattress. ABSOLUTE waste of money. Very defeated at the loss of money investing in one & would never recommend or purchase from King Koil or Forty Winks again.

definitely is a scam and do not recommend! Do not buy from this company or FORTY WINKS! I complained to forty winks and all they want me to do is buy a bed base from their store. WOW. More money to spend and no solution. The other solution from them is to pay 480$ to change the firmness. Honestly that is like a new bed..... I am currently speaking to AH BEARD. Regretted the purchase – Bought a King Koil chiro delux firm, Queen, in March last year from Forty Winks Cheltenham. After approximately 4 months both my husband and I started to wake up with lower back stiffness (never had this pain before...) and a lot of pain in the abdomen area. my old Sealy back. I have always been an excellent sleeper and am feeling quite desperate after the worst night of sleeep yet. This mattress is extremely hard and unforgiving and certainly not going to morph into the dreamy cloud that I thought I had purchased. There is nothing plush about it. The tencel waterproof sheet cost around $160 each and is also uncomfortable as it slides without gripping on the mattress. Cannot recommend. We had been planning purchase for a while and whenever I had an exceptional sleep whilst travelling always looked at brand. I had good nights on one labelled AH Beard and one King Koil - sadly cannot advise this method of testing. I have not contacted the retailer as I expect any remedy will be offered at additional cost to me.

coupled with horrendous lower back and hip pain from this mattress everyday, we just can not tolerate sleeping in it any longer. We are fit people weighing in at 75kg & 65kg and had never experienced muscle aches & pains like this in our 14yr old firm posturepaedic. We also use the recommended wooden slat base which is reinforced and turned the new mattress regularly. We upgraded as we felt the old mattress had become too hard and uncomfortable along with terrible bouncing/disruption from partner movement. On this basis we were sold by the sheer softness and total independence of movement when two people are laying on the Chiro Deluxe. However back home, we find ourselves consistently over heating and profuse sweating from just lying on this new mattress. We kicked off the doona and used thinner sheets but to no avail. We are constantly turning and twisting trying to adjust our comfort in this mattress that seems to sink in places, although no noticeable indentations so far. Each day we would wake and complain of the excruciating lower back muscle aches being experienced from sleeping (or at least trying to) in our new bed, it is terrible! The poorly designed and constructed mattress is very annoying and disappointing considering the price of this product. Altogether the experience has been very dissatisfying and cause for considerable physical pain and emotional distress...we need our sleep! We contacted AHBeard the manufacturer who sent an inspector around. Basically the advice was to go the firmer version which they could modify our new mattress for ~$390 with 7day turn-around. So off we went to FW in Auburn again to try the firmer version, which seemed to be just missing the upper foam layers compared to the medium and soft (plush) version. It reminded us of our old mattress and so we tried some other firm version from KK. After some deliberation with the sales rep we ended up negotiating on the KK platinum edition “Lancashire” as it felt significantly more comfortable and supportive than the cheap Chiro Deluxe....now relegated to the kids room.

Moral - if you normally use firm without issues then stick to this and if your budget allows definitely go the extra layered and dual coil type for a much more comfortable and supportive night of rest.....hopefully for many many years!

months of use and subsequent review in store. At our reluctant expense ($400) the manufacturer will inspect and retrofit the mattress back to a 'Medium' firmness specification. Will report on the success of that process and AH Beard customer recovery capability subsequently.

Might try sleeping on the bathroom floor – Worst mattress I’ve slept on . Only had it for 3 days and I’m averaging about 2 hours a night . Only because I’m exhausted ! ! So far an awesome sleep – We decided on the Chiro Deluxe Plush after testing many many beds in a few stores and considering price range (and taking advantage of sales too). I honestly wake up feeling refreshed, no longer feel sore (which my old mattress caused) and have a good night sleep. I was slightly concerned about the dipping when I first woke up, but after doing some research, discovered this is intentional and provides correct sleeping posture.

The plush version is very soft but also adequate for us. So I have no idea how people could say it is hard, albeit getting the wrong bed delivered.

Some personal tips:

* Only use bamboo sheets and bamboo mattress protector. Trust me, you will never want 100% cotton again.

* Doing the above will keep you cooler (we found this mattress only very slightly warmer than our last)

* Don't be stingy on sheets, etc. Pay for the better quality sheets - it makes a huge difference

* Find pillows that work for you. For me I use two: a gel/memory foam on bottom and a super soft pillow on top.

* We saved 50% on sale. So why would you buy a bed any other time?

Re other reviews. Honestly, we can see some people gave terrible reviews based on their own mistakes (nothing to do with the bed). Someone gave a terrible review at the end of mattress life - really? I'm not even sure this bed has been around for over 8 years. If we get 8 years out of this then we will be pleased. Some people wrote reviews for a completely different bed. Some wrote reviews stating the wrong manufacturer...so treat half or more of the bad reviews as skeptical.

be way to soft. The bed is so hard I don’t feel any softness. It is sagging in areas. I have been very diligent in rotating the mattress and sleeping in the middle when the hubby isn’t home. But have still found that it is so uneven.

I get a sore back from this bed and have resorted to sleeping in the spare room with a different mattress. Incredible disappointed on such a expensive bed and incorrect information and feel very deceived. Would not recommend at all.

Just a collection of springs and nothing more – We bought this mattress and we have been having a horrible time sleeping on it. and you feel like you are sleeping on the slope of a hill!! When the company representative came to inspect he said we need to rotate the mattress every month! Sounded strange since it was bought only a few months ago but we tried it and as expected no relief. There is no response from the company ever since. So I thought I would ignore the reviews and go by my instincts and I did.... I cannot believe the bad reviews about this bed, it is simply gorgeous.

I have terrible Fibromyalgia and arthritis and this bed is slowly helping me feel well again. I love the feel, super plush yet with a good firmness that I like, I love to get into bed at night and the disturbance is nil with a sleeping partner. I love this mattress!!

contributed to. My husband liked it...but he was working away up until this January so had never slept on it for weeks or months. His back has just gone on him and I am convinced it is the bed that causes lower back, sacroiliac joint pressure as it sags and then strains these areas in the back. It is so soft and I can feel the dents of where we each sleep. Getting in and out of bed is a challenge...and I am a fit 46 year old Yoga teacher! Also, this mattress is not easy for adult activities! Just not good at all! finding sheets to fit is a problem...and even when they just manage to stretch to fit over the corners, the sagging causes the sheets to pull to the midline of the bed and constantly pop off the corners. It is a waste of money - do not buy!
