If I could give 0 stars, I would. The entire experience with Kinsman Kitchens was incredibly disappointing from start to finish. The design process felt rushed, and there was intense pressure to pay a deposit on the spot — once you do, you’re locked into months of stress and delays. We were originally told the kitchen would take 6–8 weeks. In… Read more
reality, it took almost 5 months. And that was from me calling , emailing and begging for answers!!
Throughout the process there were constant issues, poor communication, delays, and even a recall/replacement of doors. Customer service from the Central Coast office was especially frustrating and unhelpful. They refuse to talk over the phone only by an online portal with 1 sentence responses. I was tearing my hair out on the daily.
For a company associated with Freedom, we expected far better quality, accountability and customer care.
If you’re considering Kinsman or Freedom, do your research and think again
We had a very long overdue kitchen renovation and chose Kinsman Kitchens following the recommendations from our daughter who was also impressed with their work. From start to finish it was so professional, we knew what was happening everyday…and we were so happy with the ‘boss’ who had a marvellous team of tradies who were very professional and tidy with all they did. Could not Recommend this company more highly! Susie Graham
I do not recommend. The whole process was a complete headache. They overpromise and under deliver. The designer / sales person pressure you to sign up on the day to obtain a 10% discount. They make out like nothing is a hassle and can be easily done, although this was not the case. The designer session felt a bit rushed. She didn’t have all the… Read more
door handles or colour options available. I only found out later (when i went to the showroom) that the colour of handles I wanted were not available in the style – it is very limited. We demolished our kitchen ourself (to speed up the process) and built a wall as they will not do anything structural, so had to find a carpenter top help with that. We wanted the kitchen completed by Xmas, which it half was after we pushed them. They were so slow to reply and we had to chase them/beg them to come out to do the measure. I suspect that they use overseas draftsperson as we would often get emails late at night eg 10pm with revised plans. The design included a linen cupboard along the hallway. The designer (and installer) did not factor in that we would want to run our existing cornice down the hallway. When they installed it, it was too high and the cornice would not fit. I had to pay another trade to fix this (by lowering the cabinet) as they were useless. I asked for extra storage above the linen cupboard because it’s a LINEN cupboard and I wanted to store pillows etc. The depth of the overhead cupboard was so shallow about 30 cm deep compared to 54cm underneath. Upon install, I thought there had been an error as there was just dead space behind the overhead cabinet. I checked the plans and this was very unclear - the depth was not stated. I had assumed that the depth would be the same as the cupboard underneath given I had paid an additional fee for this. The above head cupboard was essentially useless. I complained about this and was told that its an OHS issue as the cupboard would be too heavy. This was complete nonsense and I paid another tradie to re-make the overhead cupboards at a proper depth for storage. When my kitchen was delivered it arrived without any protection. A lot of the cabinets were damaged. It was also missing some hinges for the pull out bin and the correct sized handles for a pull out spice drawer(the handles were too big). Given the install occurred in late November, this took weeks and weeks for replacements to arrive and then I had to beg the installer to come back and fit them, which he eventually did in February 2026. I had a semi complete kitchen for 2 months after the install. Kinsman try to wash their hands of any issues and push onto the installer even though the installers work for Kinsman – use their ipad and software to communicate etc and report issues. The communication is very poor. I would suggest using a smaller company or going through a builder to avoid issues like – they didn’t tell me that they don’t include (and can’t provide) substrates (right before I was getting stone delivered) and can’t build any bulk heads. They suggest that the installer will be able to do that, but when I asked him, he was not able to assist with either – again another trade I had to source myself to complete the job. Whilst the finished product looks good, I could not recommend them. The process is TERRIBLE and caused much unnecessary stress and frustration.

We are very happy with our new kitchen. From our designer Kristin to all the trades they were great to work with. Installation was on time, and the end result is amazingly functional. Loving the extra storage and layout.
The Best Kitchen – I absolutely love my Kinsman kitchen. The gallery design is so functional and spacious. Right from designing to planning to install, everything was handled professionally. I will highly recommend the team at Kinsman for your next designer Kitchen.
kinsman Wardrobe - quality product & great service – I recently had a new wardrobe installed in a room in my house, and I couldn't be more pleased with the entire experience. and functional, with the right materials, finishes, and layout. The finished product looks very modern, and feels like it was custom designed just for my space. The installation process was smooth and relativly quick. The installers arrived on time, were great, and worked carefully to ensure everything was done to perfection. They over came a problem with the structure of my room but in the end the whole process was completed to a high standard. Overall, although the price was higher than my initial thoughts, I totally could justify the entire process, build quality and customer experience.
Kinsman wardrobe – Really happy with the product. The whole process of installing was very professional and fast. JuliaD

It has taken 5 months+ (started July ‘25) for this job to be at the point of sign off and it is still not to the standard we expected. This could have been completed in a matter of 3 weeks had the job been organised and given priority to their paying customer. The quality of the cabinets that were installed has been poor, average at best. There… Read more
is still glue residue all over my navy-blue kitchen cabinets despite the installer being paid to come and remove this glue, maybe 50% of this was actually removed. Having to wait three weeks for replacement cabinets to come, on two separate occasions, due to poor workmanship and issues in the manufacture is terrible. This dragged the process out and contributed to the poor timeframe outcomes.
The 'removalist' left the old cabinets sitting on our driveway for 5 days.
The installer disappeared for over a week at one point, leaving us hanging and wondering what was going on. Turned out, he went on holiday in the middle of the job and said nothing. All works stalled over this time.
The electrician installed the power point behind the fridge in a spot where we couldn't actually push the fridge into its recess so he had to come back and put in a second point, further charging us for this. He used all new plates on the walls despite being requested on two separate occasions to use the old ones that had only been replaced 18 months before, he said that this was fine at the time and then installed new ones anyway and charged us for it. We ended up with a massive bill for their services, completely unexpected.
The plumber was good, friendly and got the job done quickly. When we called and said there was a leak under the sink, they were back within a couple of hours and fixed the issue immediately.
The tiler was excessively expensive. He did an average job of the tiling and then didn't even put the wall trims back on, meaning we had to push for the installer to fix them up, this also took months and was only just completed a couple of weeks ago.
The benchtop install was botched. When the original plans were completed, there was a break in the stone put over the top of a drawer. When the stone measurer came out to do the final measure, he moved this break to over the top of the dishwasher for some unknown reason and said nothing to anyone about it. This meant there was nothing to support the weight of the stone in that spot. The installer had to come out and create a support beam, and then the bench guys came back and finished the job, pushing this out by another week.
The plasterer came and left plaster all over our hardwood floorboards, this had to be scraped off as it had dried on the floors. Its in between the floorboards and nearly impossible to get out. He dropped paint on the walls. He left plaster dust, a very thick layer of it, all over the cabinets and inside the cabinets (we didn't have the cabinet doors yet because Kinsman broke them in manufacture and they weren't delivered with everything else). There was paint and plaster down our brand new cabinets in parts that had to be cleaned off by the installer.
The rubbish bin that was built-in and supplied by Kinsman doesn't fit under the bench. When the installer tried to put it in they said it wouldn't fit. This was all created by the Kinsman designer and proper measurements weren't taken into account. Now we have a bin we can't use and have been told that we have to pay for postage back to Sydney (from Brisbane) to return it to get our $150 back. Hardly seems worth it with the cost of postage.
The tapware that we bought from the Kinsman showroom is faulty and has been from install. Its wobbly in its setting. Frustrating is an understatement, especially as we will likely have to pay the plumber to come out and reinstall it. Shame we paid $1,500 for it, hoping for a good quality item.
This whole process has been a nightmare and there has been zero support from Kinsman despite us letting them know a few times that we were unhappy with things. We even let the installer know that we were unhappy and he told us that we had to speak to Kinsman directly about any complaints, which is hard given Kinsman said to speak to the installer directly. This cycle of absolutely no-one taking responsibility left us as homeowners feeling very powerless and taken advantage of. We have spent a considerable amount of money on this kitchen renovation - $46k in total. There was no structural work done, and it was essentially the exact same footprint, this is a lot of money for an 8m2 kitchen. I would never recommend Kinsman to any friends or family, even as far as to say, anyone that has asked me or seen my kitchen, I have warned them against using Kinsman and their trades for their renovation. We have a lot more work to do in this house and this has well and truly put us off wanting to complete these works.
Extremely Disappointed – Would Not Recommend My experience with Kinsman has been nothing short of terrible. There was no communication from the start. was quite a price and blew out by $11,500, with no accountability or clear explanation. As trades where under estimated at initial consultation
The end result is full of faults: • Cupboards that don’t open properly • Appliances that don’t fit, despite Kinsman having every measurement from the beginning • Multiple design and product issues that should have been picked up early
Kinsman subcontracts almost everything out and then takes no responsibility when things go wrong. I saved and looked forward to this renovation, but the experience has been stressful, disappointing, and absolutely not worth the money.
I regret choosing Kinsman and would strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

I have been very disappointed with Kinsman. My kitchen was installed in December 2025 but not completed until February 2026. In March 2026 I had a pest inspection and behind the dishwasher the pest controller found there was a hole in the wall… Read more
behind it, cockroach excrement was on top of the dishwasher. With a torch we found a hole in the floor. These holes aren't small ants, cockroaches, rats and mice can get into the kitchen. I knew that the plumbing pipe had to be moved but was told the existing hole would be covered. I thought it was but much to my dismay found that it hadn't been. I thought cabinetry was at the back of the dishwasher and I wasn't aware of that until the pest inspection found that it wasn't. I have contacted Kinsman numerous times and all they ever say is that the installation has nothing to do with them and that the installer is responsible for that work. I have sent messages to the installer twice and he ignores me. I signed a contract with Kinsman, they did not tell me that they only supply the kitchen and then they wipe their hands of the installation if there are any problems. They did tell me at the beginning if there were any problems with the installation of the kitchen they would come out and inspect it, then one month after the kitchen is finished I advise both Kinsman and the installer that there are open holes in my kitchen wall and floor I get ignored or just told to go away. I am going to take this matter to the Queensland Office of Fair Trading because under Australian Consumer Law, services must be carried out with due care and skill and be fit for purpose. I went with Kinsman because I thought if I had any problems and them being a reputable Australian company that I would not have any problems with having any issues rectified. They love bomb you with their service up until you pay for the kitchen, then Kinsman just tell you to go away, they are not interested in any problems. They should be up front and tell you that they only supply the cabinetry and that the installation then falls to the business they have contracted to them. I entered a contract with Kinsman...I believed that contract covered all aspects of the kitchen. Why don't they give customers the choice of who you have installing your kitchen? Kinsman are intentionally misleading, they are not up front, they don't care if there are any problems with the kitchen once they have your money. If I had my time over again I would not enter into a contract with Kinsman. I am very disappointed.
Follow-up · Tuesday the 19th May the contractor came back and covered up the holes after having to constantly complain since the 11th March. Kinsman needs to be honest about the contractor they choose then becomes your contractor. Kinsman, until you pay, is great. After payment the customer service goes horrendous. I have a broken draw and other issues (still under warranty), and kinsman is not taking responsibility. They transferred the responsibility to me to contact the installer. (Kinsman assigned the installer, not me). Disgraceful.
Follow-up · Days after I published this review, one of their staff contacted me, saying that the management had changed their mind and would fix the issues. I paid top $$ for theses wardrobes and I have kids at home. I could not wait for them to change their minds, with clothes and trip hazards all around . By the time they called, I had fixed the issues on my terms. Unless I have another issue, (I hope not...) I do not want anything to do with this company.

Very happy with my new kitchen! A huge thanks to the designer who visited us and designed onsite accommodating my requests and the space. That was the impressive service . The project was well organised and went smoothly.
Very happy with our new kitchen cabinets. We used Kinsman Kitchen for both the cabinet supply and installation, and the whole process was quite smooth. The cabinets look great and the installer did a neat and professional job. Communication was good and any questions we had were answered quickly. Overall a good experience and we would recommend them.
From the start to finish a great experience. The staff are so so helpful and guided us through delivering on time and installation was brilliance. Highly recommend many thanks Jo and Ian x

outset.
Delays & Timeframes: Although pre-Christmas installation was initially indicated, the project extended well into 2026, with the kitchen not usable until at least March and ongoing issues into April. Key milestones (site checks, delivery, installation) were repeatedly delayed. Communication Failures: There were persistent difficulties contacting assigned site inspectors, including long periods of no response, cancelled appointments, and lack of updates. Conflicting and inaccurate information was frequently provided, including incorrect claims about communication with the installer. Staff Turnover & Lack of Accountability: Three different site inspectors were assigned, causing repeated reassessments, loss of continuity, and delays in progress. No consistent point of contact was provided. Scheduling & Coordination Issues: Poor coordination between Kinsman and trades led to missed deadlines, last-minute cancellations, and inability for trades to adjust schedules, resulting in financial and logistical impacts. Product & Supply Issues: Multiple problems occurred with product specifications and supply, including: Incorrect advice regarding sink suitability Late discovery of unavailable cabinetry panels just before delivery Missing cabinetry components across multiple deliveries (March–April) Ongoing inability to supply complete materials, preventing installation completion Impact on Household: The kitchen was demolished in December based on advice to expedite installation, leaving the household without a functional kitchen for an extended period, causing significant disruption and stress. Customer Service Concerns: Despite full payment being taken, service delivery has been unsatisfactory, with repeated delays, miscommunication, and lack of proactive management. Resolution has required constant follow-up by the customer. Escalation & Loss of Confidence: Due to continued failures, the customer has: Requested expedited completion and clear scheduling Sought compensation Lodged (or intends to lodge) a complaint with the Office of Fair Trading Purchased missing items independently to complete the project due to lack of confidence in Kinsman’s ability to resolve outstanding issues
Avoid Kinsman at all costs. They are very helpful and responsive at the beginning, but the moment you sign the contract and pay the deposit, everything goes downhill. Communication becomes almost non-existent, calls go unanswered, and the project manager who is supposed to look after your job never returns calls or messages. We have been waiting… Read more
for our kitchen for 6 months now. There have been multiple delays on their side, including not booking the site measure on time, not lodging paperwork, and even cancelling delivery due to material shortages without providing an alternative date.

details existed when I reached out. The generic installation instructions provided were clearly outdated and of little practical use. Instead of clarifying the process, they only added confusion. I was supplied with pieces that weren’t scheduled as part of my order, while at the same time dealing with components that were incorrectly manufactured. Pre-drilled holes were in the wrong locations, something that Kinsman themselves later confirmed leaving me to troubleshoot and work around their mistakes.
On top of all that, most items straight out of the box had significant marks from manufacturing which could only be removed with eucalyptus oil which was in addition to the residue left by all the stickers left on each piece. Basic finishing items like white cover dots for screw holes were missing, forcing me to go out and purchase them myself. There was also an insufficient quantity of Euro screws provided, meaning yet another trip and additional cost just to complete what could and should have been a straightforward installation.
Perhaps the most frustrating part was being told that as a “self installer” I should have been or used a licensed cabinetry installer, despite the fact that no such licensing requirement actually exists. This felt like an attempt to deflect responsibility for poor product quality and inadequate documentation.
Overall, this has been an incredibly poor experience. Between the lack of proper instructions, incorrect manufacturing, missing components, and dismissive support, I cannot and will not recommend Kinsman. I will actively share my experience and participate in any conversation to help dissuade others from using Kinsman.

Over 4 months since first contacting them and still not finished. Constant miscommunication and instances of left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing. I had a full house renovation, and it was less drama, delays and mistakes than getting a simple Kinsman kitchenette. Save yourself the hassle and get a local specialist kitchen installer to do the job start to finish than relying on these guys.
My Kinsman Kitchens Experience: A Tragic Comedy If you’ve ever wondered what it would be like to design a kitchen with a troupe of circus performers who’ve recently escaped their enclosure, allow me to introduce you to Kinsman Kitchens. A company that somehow manages to trip over its own shoelaces while standing still. The Salesperson Who Treats… Read more
Facts Like Optional Extras Enter Jack, the salesperson. A man who treats truth the way IKEA treats Allen keys, technically included, but good luck finding one when you need it. He lied about what the company could provide, lied by omission, lied by creative interpretation, and lied by simply forgetting to mention anything important. Pricing transparency? Not here. Discounts? Allegedly. Documented anywhere? Absolutely not. The contract had less detail than a toddler’s crayon drawing. Jack was also the “Designer” and I Use That Word Loosely I mean a man who clearly moonlights as a clown and only designs things that can be assembled with balloon animals. What was I expecting? I wouldn’t trust him to organise my grocery list, let alone design a kitchen. I had to give him step‑by‑step instructions like I was teaching a golden retriever how to use Excel. Every warning sign was flashing clear as day, but I, foolishly optimistic ignored them. The Risk Transfer Once the design was “done,” the real fun began. Suddenly, everything became “not included.” Or “we don’t do that.” Or my personal favourite: “That’s the installer’s problem.” Ah yes, the classic Kinsman manoeuvre: shift the risk faster than a fat kid chasing an ice cream truck Installation issue? “Oh sorry, the installer is an independent contractor.” Translation: We picked him, but we take no responsibility. Good luck, champ. These people operate like a packet of White Wings cake mix, add one egg and suddenly they’re claiming they baked the whole thing from scratch. The CAD Team. Also Known As “Can’t Actually Design” Just when you think the nightmare is over, in swoops the CAD team. CAD, in Kinsman terms, stands for: Can’t Actually Design These geniuses couldn’t follow simple instructions if you tattooed them on their forearms. And then there’s Dragon. Yes, Dragon. Because nothing inspires confidence like being burned by someone literally named after a fire‑breathing reptile. Dragon lives in a “den,” which is apparently code for “only works after 7pm and takes 24 hours to make one change while breaking six other things.” What was supposed to take 5–10 business days took longer than it would’ve taken me to build the entire kitchen out of LEGO, with my eyes closed, and one hand tied behind my back. And after all that? They produced something that looked like it was whipped up in Microsoft Paint during someone’s morning tea break. The Installation Estimate. Back to old mate Jack for that. Another Comedy Special Then comes the installation “estimate.” A masterpiece of confusion. Apparently, they had no idea it would cost more. It’s not like they install kitchens for a living. Oh wait… they do. Suddenly I needed extra wood. Why? Because the kitchen doesn’t come with the things required to install the kitchen. Imagine buying a car and discovering the steering wheel is an optional extra. That’s the Kinsman experience. The Oreo Island The “designer” (Good old Jack again) bless his circus‑trained heart, forgot to change the colour of the side panels on the variation. So, my island was about to look like a giant Oreo. Thankfully, the one competent human in this saga, the installer, caught it. The Lone Hero Michael, the installer, is the only bright light in this entire dumpster fire. A true professional. Skilled. Polite. Competent. Which is probably why he doesn’t work for Kinsman. Final Verdict. Run. Don’t Walk. For the love of all things holy, find anyone else to design, manufacture, and install your kitchen. And before you say, “But they were on The Block…” Yes. And the only block you’ll see is them blocking your number after the 47th complaint call. These people run a business using a Magic 8 Ball and a box of crayons. You’re better off with our Swedish mates, at least you can grab some meatballs while you’re there. And finally, a “kinsman” is a male relative. Which is fitting, because dealing with this company feels like being stuck at a family reunion with that one cousin who insists he’s a “crypto entrepreneur” but still lives in his parent’s garage.

DO NOT go through Kinsman for your kitchen or anything else - disgraceful, appalling rip off. They delivered my kitchen without the doors - didn’t tell me, it wasn’t until the installer… Read more
arrived and told me there were no doors (I assumed they were part of the flat pack that was delivered as well). So 2 weeks after the kitchen was delivered the doors finally arrived - but again not without drama. No contact was made to tell me the doors were being delivered, just a message from a courier that tried to deliver the doors basically saying I’ve tried to call you twice but you haven’t called back within 10 minutes the doors are being returned to the factory. WTH. When the kitchen was installed they discovered a damaged door and the all the hardware to install the bins was missing - it’s now 5 weeks later and they still have not replied to my messages to tell me when they will be replaced and delivered.
So … the stone bench tops - the final plan was substantially smaller than the original plan because all the cupboards are basically a flat pack that is put together before it arrives so there is no allowance for changing any sizes or anything else, (don’t believe what you see on TV) so we had to remove a lot of the cupboards. Kinsman have not bothered to forward the new plan and costing for the stone to Linkstone - so they want me to pay for the original stone contract - days of messages and going back and forth Kinsman finally send a new contract at 5.03pm the night before (so too late to pay the required progress payment) Linkstone are due to measure and the costing and calculations are completely wrong and it was done by the State Manager!!! I’m so over this company and their appalling lack of service or care.
The only thing that has saved the kitchen is the outstanding contract kitchen installers Michael and David - who are not employed by Kinsman they are contractors - totally makes sense.
I’m writing this review and I still don’t have a completed kitchen, I’m just angry and so disappointed- what should be an exciting and enjoyable process has been nothing short of a nightmare - and it still continues.
Further to this review - I held off submitting it for 3 weeks waiting for Kinsman to address the issues after they read the review privately - they haven’t despite initially responding, like everything else ….. nothing!
Purchased a brand new full kitchen from these guys 18 months ago.I reached out wanting to buy some additional accessories custom to their designs, they refused to sell me these items unless I spent a minimum of $5000! Poor customer service and clearly do not want repeat business.
I’m writing this review as a warning. I’ve thought long about it but I think speaking up is best if it saves others the frustration and disappointment we have experienced. way is to an independent contractor - great marketing, poor customer experience. Design is done through an independent contract designer you meet at a good guys store. If you need a change you need to wait weeks for that designer to be available to make it. There is no ‘team’ to make quick adjustments or advise on a stone change or quote. The cupboards are installed by a different contractor, they are also independent of Kinsman. They run their own businesses and are paid to build the flat pack and install (separately by you) Our install went over 2 months due to Kinsman phone support telling me that I needed the appliances measurements and Brand/model info- but the installer saying i needed the actual appliances on site. So 3 visits to install to fit in with his availability after appliances were delivered. The stone company is independent- they chipped one bench when they installed. When I called to complain they recommended we gap and paint it - it’s black bench, grey wall - they came back and gapped it with white, and flicked gapping into adjacent black cupboard door! There is a 10mm gap on the splashback to cupboard… it’s black, but the wall behind was primed white. I’m not sure how I will disguise that. The wire cupboard racks the designer advised for laundry and kitchen storage are huge! There was no room after plumbing to install them. Kinsman phone support asked me to submit photos to prove I hadn’t used them and then advised there is no store to return them to in Queensland. Even though you can buy through good guys? You can’t return there? I see that the feedback is 33% negative. That means that 1 in 3 reviewing customers has had a bad experience. That should be considered very seriously before purchasing. Hiring a local cabinet maker contracted directly would have been a better choice for us. But we thought we would get smarter cabinets, and quick turnaround, like the Block TV show… no… those are not standard just good marketing. There is ANOTHER company you can contact for enhanced storage.
