the pipework he showed us was icy cold, the remainder were warm. The temperature reading was -5C in the freezer . He said it should be -18C. The refrigerator temperature was OK but would become problematic as the gas continued to escape. The refrigerator would need to be collected and taken to their workshop for repairs with an approx cost of $800. He could not advise the length of time this would take. At this point we decided it was not worth it as we could purchase a new fridge for a little more money. However later that day we found the receipt and realised it was not yet even 5 years old. After a lot of internet searching we have found that the LG Refrigerators/Lineal compressor from this time frame has not only been the subject of a number of reviews expressing the same problem as us but also the subject of Class Actions in USA and Canada. We are currently awaiting advice for the next step in our endeavour to find a solution to this problem.

It's a very nice upgrade and only a couple of minor things I don't like – Great fridge which has an option to open the door from the other side. It's pretty quiet but not silent. for setting what temps you want but does not display the current temp which they should of added in my opinion. The tempered glass shelves are ok but I get a bit scared it might break when I'm laying glass wine and water bottles on it. I bought a plastic bottle rack which resolved the issue.

It has one of the best energy ratings out of the fridges in this price range. Advertises good warranty but I'll come back and update this review if something happens.

It's got lots of little features like the retractable shelf which is a bit flimsy so I won't be playing with that too much.

Only has a door alarm for the fridge but not the freezer, why not LG??

I think overall it's a great fridge/freezer but only time will tell. These days everything is made in China who have the worst quality control so having good after sales support is very important. Crossing my fingers LG looks after us if it does go south...

Oh and the ice tray that you can flip over used to release ice cubes with one flick now does not release ice as easy as it used to. Not sure if that's a design fault or it's happening because I left the ice cubes in the tray for too long?

Great Fridge Loads Of Space – We’ve had this fridge for 1 and a 1/2 years now and it has consistently kept everything cold. model it isn’t but would love to be able to monitor things via the SmartQ App.

It’s a great fridge with loads of space and it sits beside our new Washing Machine that almost matches in colour and design which is amazing.

Haven’t had any issues with it at all and would recommend it to friends.

It has done us well and unless something goes bad I believe it will serve us well for years to come and it has a 10 years parts warranty so not too bad.

** Freezer Shelves **

Whatever you do not load the Middle Tray in the freezer because if too heavy it will destroy the rails which are thin plastic and only have foam backing it

Still going – Almost 8 years and still going. Does get a little noisy when the dust builds up around the condenser coils. I vacuum the dust build up twice a year and each time the noise drops considerably. Pretty sure this has helped to keep the unit strong without any issues. Show details

choice but to once again purchase a new fridge. A week ago we noticed everything in the freezer has defrosted, since then the fridge section is also not working. Always disappointing when you have a young family and have to throw out all the spoilt food, however the real kicker is the quote to fix the fridge, $800 plus dollars. How can I feel confident with the LG brand moving forward?

Dead after 4 years – Purchased fridge in 2017, just paid LG's authorised repairer $180 call out to inform me the compressor is gone. LG do offer a 10 year warranty on compressor parts, however it's going to cost me an additional $700 to fix it, that's $880 to fix a fridge which cost $1100 originally. Not buying an LG again, and don't get drawn into the 10 year compressor warranty. 4 years from a fridge is not good enough. Show details

breakages – Fan in fridge broke within weeks of purchasing and now the freezer slides (which are made from plastic coated foam) have broken off. Draws have been awkward and difficult to open since day dot. Have owned for about 5 years.

Great fridge – We bought two of these fridges at an excellent price from Good Guys in Toowoomba. After a few months, one of them had an issue with the pump. wasn't until we pushed back on LG themselves that we finally got the replacement fridge. This took awhile to come as they didn't have the right colour in stock. However they did offer to send us a higher grade finish (matt black) which was worth more. We declined this as we wanted our two fridges to match.

Apart from this issue, we have had no problems and find it is an excellent fridge, good size with a nice finish and internal layout. Would recommend.

Best fridge I’ve owned – The fridge does exactly what it is meant too. I love the simplistic look of it and that it chimes when I’m taking too long to pack my groceries. Backbone of our household – Fridge is fantastic. Does exactly what any fridge should do. Temperature is constant and if you leave the fridge door is has a beeping noise to alert you. Noise wise it's really quiet 90% of the time. Every now and then it sounds like it goes in overdrive and does produce a very noticeable noise. We live in a open plan living so there isn't much to cancel out the noise.

Overall I would say it's a very good and energy efficient fridge.
