The electrician was great during the solar health check. However, the experience was let down by the admin team. The electrician needed a blank document with a letterhead from the office so they could send me an updated report. Despite multiple reminders, the admin team literally took over a week to email them the blank document, causing unnecessary delays. I would not recommend Solargain due to their poor admin support. I had an iStore 270l heat pump hot system installed by Solargain here in Albany in 2019. They promptly closed their shop down for good shortly afterwards. I have never heard from the again. Now I'm trying to get hold of them to replace the anode and do a 5 year service. All I get on their "customer service" line is "This inbox is full". They don't respond to emails, tneir website chatbox is just a bot - they are completely off-grid.

This is the worst customer support I have ever had to deal with. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! We had a $32,000 solar & battery system installed by them. was not working and they would replace it under warranty. Nearly 4 months later we are still waiting for the inverter to be replaced. We are now paying high electricity bills with no resolution in sight. Each time we ring Solargain they say it is out of their hands and they have contacted Solar Edge who they use to install the system. They have said multiple times that they will escalate the matter & call us back. They never do call back!. $32,000 for a system that is not working and absolutely no customer service to rectify the issue!!!

Some reviews said the iStore menu’s were hard to use, but by spending 30 minutes reading the manual and doing some testing I now consider myself an expert.

I've recently replaced by electric HWS with a 270L IStore heat pump. Solargain were extremely professional to deal. They organised for the heat pump to be installed quickly so I didn't have to wait until January 2026. I'm very happy with my heat pump and the sales team from Solargain.
Follow-up · iStore claim that noise levels are up 46.6dB but they're actually more like 58-59dB (which is measured) and is quite noisy. I reported this to Solargain who responded with "Noise measurements in typical installations are much higher in real life". Solargain didn't organise for a site visit to check whether there was a problem with the heat pump - which I was impressed with either.

couldn’t find anything wrong with it So this kept happening and we kept calling them again and yet gain they said they will need to check the roof and they will be back again so we waited for that too and finally they did come and once again they were unable or not capable to figure it out They turned the system on and it was working for a while until one day again I noticed it’s off but this time it will stay off and couldn’t be restarted. We called them , reported it and it has been almost 6 weeks that we are waiting I think it died on the 7/10/23 and we are now 14/11 and so far no one is coming, I keep calling and Perth office lady keeps escalating my case and she told me that’s all it can be done and we can’t have phone number for warranty team. It has to be done through her but she can’t do more than escalate to the warranty team herself and we will be waiting and paying high price It is impossible to get this ppl to help you. I mean do not have company if you can’t run according to the consumer law I wish we never went with them because I am still paying high bills even with this large system. Everything is working beautifully, my solar is working so much better than I was expecting which is great as I'd rather have my expectations exceeded than feel conned. and resolved in the end, which to me actually does tell you a lot more about a company than when things just happen to go right.
Everyone on site was professional and friendly and they left they place clear of debris which as a parent of 3 young kids I appreciated immensely. Communications, instructions and information were all very clear.
The team even discovered and fixed an issue with my existing wiring (my existing hot water boost switch had been hardwired by the previous owner to deceptively always be on to hide that the old broken system was in fact far more broken than it appeared!). So again I really appreciate that the team made the effort to uncover that one.
Overall I'm really glad I went with Solargain, they may not have been the cheapest or the fastest, but when I look at the performance of my grandmother's system she got through a random cold call company a couple of years ago vs mine, I do feel very confident that I have an excellent system and that if I do have any issues in future that Solargain will still be around to sort it out and they actually will.

We were very happy with the location of the inverter and batteries inside the garage. It’s a very neat set up and with the batteries so slim it doesn’t affect parking our cars. They also explained the four stage shut down procedure if needed (I took photos of each stage and printed and laminated it to display in the garage) and they assisted in setting up the App. The system has to be connected to wifi all the time and we upgraded to the NBN. It has its own 2.5 GHz network.

SolarGain installed a full suite of 13kw solar panels with accompanying batteries as part of my new build. Stay away!! I got my solar panels installed in Jun 2023 and Solargain replaced my original RCBOs with another brand. While doing another work, my regular electrician found out that the RCBOs installed by Solargain don’t trip…..essentially my entire family had been sitting on a time bomb for the last 2 years. replacing the RCBOs. I have sent the detailed electrician report, videos etc to Solargain asking for a refund but a month later, there’s nothing. Apparently, they are waiting to hear from their supplier.
The awareness of checking RCBOs to see if they trip is very low. Can I please urge everyone reading this to check in case Solargain has replaced your switches.
Don’t trust what they claim. Contrary to their claim that they care and provide regular updates on issues raised, they don’t as is clear from my example.

I have dealt with Solargain twice over a period of 6 years . Firstly for a service which they did very well. Secondly, most recently over the phone, to report a fault following a storm.
