The Aurion is an awesome car. Reviews compare it to the Falcon and Commodore but in terms of build quality its not close. It has everything you need and a great motor with decent fuel usage (9.2l/100 km combined). I bought a 2016 Sportivo with 44,000km for $20k after wanting a Lexus IS350, i couldnt justify the $10-$15k price difference for a family car. Show details

Toyota sportivo the sedan of the future – Fastest Toyota I have ever driven with it’s awesome 6 speed autosyncious gearbox allows you to drive it like a manual v6 zippy sedan like it’s on tracks this car goes very much like a sport car which it actually is and it fly’s at 160 klph when you put your foot to the floor this car gets itself going that quick you think it’s a racing sedan

Has a recall and is in need of minor repairs – Very smooth drive we hired one years back and decided it was time for an upgrade. 17 years old but still in good condition and super reliable and comfortable, Toyota replacing recall part free so no worries would really recommend buying. Show details

Presara 2009 – Bought this 2009 Aurion Presara 2 months ago. I wanted a toyota and I was look long for a v6 because I travel from QLD to Sydney regulary. Mine was purchased with only 70k on the clock and all services done. Paid a bit too much for it, $14,500, but it is in Immaculate condition, so I relented. Being the Presara it has many luxury extras, only… Read more

things missing is a USB slot, but have overcome that by buying an FM transmitter with MP3 ability. I love this cars solid feel and of course being as Toyota, it is bullet proof and reliable. Love the power from the silky smooth V6, makes overtaking Road trains so quick and safe. Fuel consumption on long journeys is Brilliant for a V6 and around town you just have to use a light foot. Quality of components throughout the car is very good. Leather electric seats are very comfortable. Sound quality of speakers is good too. Bluetooth hooks up to phone easily and maps are Ok, but you will need to update through Tom Tom, it's $395. I highly recommend an Aurion as a great reliable used car.

Major gearbox failure at 120,000klm – We purchased a Toyota Aurion ZR6 as a family car motivated by the reputation Toyota have as a reliable brand. This couldn't be further from the truth. Having traveled 120,000Klm the automatic gearbox failed. (Refer attached photo). The car was regularly serviced and has never been used as a tow vehicle. The car was out of warranty and over the… Read more

statutory 100,000 Klm warranty period however one would think that as a gesture of goodwill Toyota would have come to the party and either replaced the gearbox or at least offered to pay a portion of the replacement cost given its a major component of the car that failed. So I contacted Toyota Australia and I hit a brick wall. They were unhelpful and did not want to even consider offering any form of assistance. To say I was disappointed with their customer after sales service is an understatement. A new gearbox was around the $10,000 mark which was financially not an option so I was forced to put in a used gearbox for $3,500. I will never buy another Toyota again after the treatment I received from Toyota Australia. They promise you everything prior to the purchase and then don't want to know you when a major mechanical fault occurs.

Good all round people's car. Pity it is discontinued – Have had a late 2017 Aurion Presara. Use: business and other town and country functions. It has had daily use with a lot of short trips and some decent long distance trips but with overall mileage quite low (under 15000 klms per year.) Servicing is regular. Cost is high enough for me to definitely notice. Never any concern. While there is an… Read more

ordinary edge to this car it does carry much of what we should currently seek in a moderately priced family car for Australian roads. Its looks are not outlandish but are too smooth and clean to be called dowdy or old. Decent IOS and Android connectivity, Toyota App, maps and other utilities. Stereo is decent as is voice assist and layout of menus is good. Air conditioning works well and the moonroof creates good airflow without undue aerodynamic disruption. Low noise (made lower with Pirelli tyres.)

Quickish compared with most other cars on the road and with largish tried and true motor. We had a ZR6 Sportivo before this and it did appear to have better suspension giving greater agility (faster cornering) but this is no slacker in that department handling better I think than can be expected given cost comparisons. The brakes suffice but are nothing to write home about. I like the original Michelins but find high end Pirelli's give a little better handling. Seems pretty thirsty around town but at fuel use down to about 6.7 or 7 l/100klms possible on the open road (for very gentle driving) I can't blame it for my often using a litre or a litre and a half more when out of town.

Direction following lights, their automatic downswitching, automatic rear vision mode, automatic wipers, blind spot indicators, highly manipulable drivers seat, advanced speed control, good engine braking, rapid demister and a wealth of automated and convenient features are there most of which have still not made it to most vehicles on the road. Especially pleased that it continued the foot 'hand' brake of earlier Aurion releases. Pleased also that hands free telephone use is now fully built in. The previous Aurion has so much spent on trying to get good hands free service going...all of which failed to a fair degree in my opinion.

Large boot with protector. Full size spare. Inside; plenty of space for 5 largish people. At the front end, everything you are likely to need to get to is easily accessed. Long legged with a motor and build you should be able to expect to last the distance. This one has not been used to tow but am reliably advised that it is capable in that department.

I think of it as an ideal mid-20teens Australian peoples car. Just about everything one would need and just about everything most would want for most local driving. The overall excellent star rating I give is moderated by the expectation that should come of any 'peoples' car. It offers excellent value for dollar cost.

Great car with one major drawback for early models – Great car, reliable, but you have to watch out for the the VVT-i oil line hose issue which was a design fault on models before 2009. Mine developed a pin hole in the recent hot weather and pumped out half the oil from the motor before i realised what had happened. Lucky i caught it in time with no damage to the motor. I got it towed to Toyota… Read more

and had them replace this rubber hose with the metal pipe update which was on all models above 2009.

Could have been a disaster with a blown motor if i had been on a longer trip and not noticed this.

So beware any Aurion drivers with models before 2009, make sure Toyota replace your Rubber based VVT-i Oil hose with the metal pipe like the one on later models, its a ticking time bomb otherwise, you could end up with a destroyed motor.

All in all, i am happy with the vehicle, great power and pretty good driver comfort. Being the 2006 ZR6, its a little bit more firmer ride but i dont mind that.

"Aurion drive and you'll never turn back" – I own a 2007 Toyota Aurion Presara with the cream interior. Been a typical Toyota very reliable the 2GR-FE V6 Lexus motor, very smooth running and one of the best V6 engine you can get. smooth and I can very easily drive around keeping the revs under 2000rpm. Having the Presara model it's got all the luxuries, full leather interior (cream colour), wood grain, climate control, Sat-Nav, back window shad, sun roof and much more! My Aurion is my pride and joy and I have a second car I use as a daily, so having the cream/white interior is not a problem for me. Always keep clean and undercover and only done 207,000km. The one thing I always say to everyone who owns an Avalon, V6 Camry and the Aurion's that is make sure you keep the services up to date and be sure not to miss a service. I owned an Avalon Grande before the Aurion and the one big thing I had to check before I brought both the Avalon and this Aurion is make sure service history is all up to date. There known for oil sludge build up but if you take good care I've seen these engines get 800,000km and plus expecially Avalon's and V6 Camry's with the 1MZ-FE Engine. Take care of the Aurion, keep the revs down and it will look after you!! "Oh what a Feeling, Toyota"

Powerful and Reliable – Amazing Car. Its my 2nd Aurion. Bought it post covid from Newcastle in 2022 for $5000. Prodigy with sunroof 2+ years has not missed a beat. My drive is purely suburban city 5 days a week so the its quite thirsty. Fuel Economy with 100% city driving is around 12L/100 on average. In the Highway runs i have gotten as low as 7L/100

I have nothing to complain about for a 19 year old car this has been fantastic. The power is addictive. Once you get used to it all other mainstream cars feel slow. Also the weight of the car makes it quite planted on the road. No rattles or squeaks in the cabin. After the engine warms up you can hardly hear it. Transmission is still silky smooth.

no issues with overtaking on freeways up steep hills. The suspension is incredibly soft and wobbly and it could be described as boat like. This car was not designed for fast cornering. The brakes are probably the worst feature with brake shudder after hard deceleration, which may require machining the rotors to fix this recurrent issue. The torque steer needs some getting used to but is not a big problem for me. I drive this car daily to work and in heavy traffic it uses 13.5l/100km, with mixed city driving that can be reduced to 12l/100km. Over all great car.

comfortable, roomy, and has an excellent crash safety rating. And it's quieter than the older model. And the big boot does the job - at Christmas it swallowed up portable tables that wouldn't fit in my wife's Subaru Forester. The one downside is the stereo - although being a JBL, it is not up to scratch, but I've solved this via an equaliser app (for Spotify). This said, the DAB radio is crystal clear.
