Unacceptable behavior from Australia Post associated buiseness again. This time holding up critical medical gear – A medical Supplier has shipped a critical piece of medical equipment to me using Premium shipping. StarTrack has refused to load this blood pressure monitor on air freight and failed to tell anyone about it. It was only when the shipment was delayed for many days that I chased this up and they said that they are refusing the shipment due to it containing a battery that needs "declaring" This is a critical medical device that has been sitting in at the Sydney airport since Thursday last week. It is time Australia Post gets Audited and cleaned out and replaced. A rotten tree trunk can only result in rotten produce

Hi Ted, The issue is not just that it has been held its that there was absolutely no notification that it had been held and no communication from star track. the tracking stated and still does just say " Its Coming - Delayed - waiting for processing" on the track and trace. its only that it took days without an update that i chased it up. From where i stand your company has been paid to deliver next business day, if there is something internally preventing you from doing that the onus should be on your company to reach out to the sender (account holder) to let them know your unable to deliver in the current form. It shouldn't be my responsibility as the recipient, especially when your tracking services are so vague about it
Vender confirmed there is no battery in this shipment, this has been communicated with StarTrack and they are still withholding this package without cause

Hi Barry, I'm sorry to hear about this confusion, but yes there are specific items (batteries among them), that do need to be declared before shipping. My best advice would be to discuss such issues with the account holder (usually the sender) at the time of purchase as they will generally be aware of such provisions. -Ted
