Comfortable but restless – Got a sleeping duck recently. Wake up in sweats most nights because the foam does not breathe at all, it’s a very hot mattress. If you sleep hot at all, this is not the mattress for you.

Thanks for taking the time to leave your review Lachlan.

We are sorry to hear that your Duck is sleeping hotter than you'd like at the moment.

Our Ducks use a Hybrid-design, meaning they consist of both springs and foam. The addition of the foams means that it will be slightly warmer than a full sprung mattress. This is a trade-off for having the extra comfort and customisation that the foam provides you.

Our mattresses are actively designed to reduce the amount of heat retention within them. An element of this is using the process of pressure expanding our foams, which allows 8x more breathability when compared to traditional latex and memory foam.

However, we do understand everybody sleeps at a different temperature, so are more than happy to talk through some potential solutions when a customer is finding that their Duck is sleeping a little hot for them.

A change to a firmer setting, which will have you sitting higher in the surface, heightening airflow and minimising the level of heat trapped underneath, is often our initial recommendation.

We definitely also recommend using light, breathable layers all year round and removing any bulky toppers. Using the correct slatted base can also help promote airflow.

Please don’t hesitate to get in touch with any other questions, or further concerns.

Kind regards, Team Sleeping Duck
