I've had the Caroma Urban II cleanflush with bidet for some months now. Great toilet, love the no-rim clean flush feature, and also love the slim… Read more

line.

The bidet is easy to use; it also has a self-clean feature. The remote comes with the bidet, or you can control it on the side of the unit.

It's a fantastic clean-line bidet/toilet. The bidet has four heat settings for the seat, water, and air. You can also set the toilet seat to automatically open and close.

The biggest issue with the bidet is the reset unit is within the toilet unit. It's extremely hard to lift the bidet seat out of the toilet unit and reach under the pipes to locate the reset button.

I had to call my electrician over 15 times to come & reset the toilet for me as it kept shutting down, which means you cannot use the bidet features until it's reset. I also had the electrician to relocate the reset unit outside of the toilet.

My plumber put in a service call to Caroma as the reset should only go out when power goes off. Caroma service were really easy to deal with, kept me updated when service would be. The bidet unit was replaced within 14 days, and the plumber told me this is a known issue with the unit & they are working on it.

I bought a Caroma urbane for our bathroom Reno 2025. Very disappointed considering the cost and positive reviews I read. Flush is very short and… Read more

Our new expensive Caroma Contura II does not even flush away toilet paper! Our plumber, my handy husband and the Caroma service person have all… Read more

failed to fix the problem. The service guy said he has been told the half flush is not for use with toilet paper, to which I said "Well that means half the population cannot use the half flush and that is absurd". Even the full flush fails to get rid of paper half the time, and that also means faeces! Surely something is seriously wrong with this design and I want my money back!

Expensive but very poor design & quality, it is very dangerous to use in single storey house – After over 20 years using of Panasonic washlet, one of it has finally break down. Because Panasonic (and all other famous brands) no longer… Read more

manufacturing short version (min 480mm between front of toilet seat and front of the water tank) of such product, I have no choice to buy this 5 times more expensive (today’s price) with much less function’s Caroma Livewell Electronic Bidet Germgard Seat from Harvey Norman. I thought that after over 20 years worldwide electronic components revolution, the new product from Australia famous Caroma should have good quality & reliability. But the nightmare has stared right after picked up the bidet seat a week ago. When I opened the package, water was coming out from electronic compartment of the bidet seat. Contacted Harvey Norman but initially they had refused to replace or refund my money. Worked as an electrical design engineer, I had clearly told to them that this was a defect product with water in electrical compartment and people could be easily electric shocked. Selling dangerous & defected product as brand new item was breach Australia consumer law. After two days’ talking, the owner (like a corner shop) of Harvey Norman toilet section had finally agreed to replace it with a new one. Once installed, the default settings are not completely suitable to normal people using. Follow the user manual to set it up, but it will crash instantly if a wrong button pressed on the remote control. Then you have to switch off the power supply, reset it to manufacturer default and then re-set it up again!!! It has happened several times already within a week of using. Once happed, you have to sit on the toilet bowl over 5 minutes to read the manual, reset it & then set it up again!!! We have never had any such bad experience in over 20 years of using Panasonic washlet which is much cheaper but has more features then Caroma’s expensive bidet. Panasonic washlet requires no “adjustment” to the mechanical part in which it is perfectly positioned to humen body. All other functional controls are just a touch of a buttons. It has never crashed once in 20 years of daily using. The Caroma bidet seat is not designed at the standing up open position. It can be only lifted to around 90 degree position and then it will automatically spring back to close position. You have to make lots of efforts to enable it stand up for a pee. Not sure why such expensive product has such cheap and useless mechanism? The dry function is a bit doddy - the air flow has different temperature: one side is hot and other side is cool. Great, isnt it! Installing water pipe in attics is part of Australia housing standard. During the summer season, the water passing through the attics will be baked to a very high temperature. Panasonic washlet has a build-in water compartment to control the washing water temperature. But Caroma Livewell Electronic Bidet Germgard Seat connects the washing water directly to the water pipe line and there is no detection & no warning for such high temperature water directly coming through & contact to your sensitive skin. It will most likely cause burning to your sensitive skin if you are not jump up from the seat!!! For nomal temperature water from pipe line, the first 0.5 second wash will be cold water and then warm water will slowly come out. Will this be enjoyable in the winter? This is an extremely dangerous product to be used in single storey house. The technology of the product is worse than a same product designed and manufactured 20 years ago. Will you going to pay such high price to buy this doggy, poor quality & cheap build product?

Lasted just under 3 months before warranty call ! Wish I could rate it zero stars – We paid an absolute fortune for it and it started dripping. The plumber told us that Caroma are not known for fixing warranty issues fast and he was… Read more

correct. It was our intention to pay extra for it thinking that the quality will match the cost. Also, the other review on this product sounds like it came from a company representative as it is suspiciously extremely positive. If it is from an actual genuine customer then they are a lot luckier than us ! I must say that the lady from Reece was very helpful in helping us sort it all out. So 5 out 5 stars for Reece Plumbing in Sydney !

Replaced three, 20-year-old Caroma toilets with these suites on the advice of our plumber. Unfortunately, it was a costly mistake. As other… Read more

reviewers have noted, they offer better flushing but are let down by poor-quality toilet seats (flimsy and not soft closing) and a noisy (plastic) cistern. What was not mentioned in other reviews is the cost to upgrade to the Caroma recommended (Caravelle) toilet seat at a RRP of $349, which is nearly as much as the cost of the suite itself (RRP $374). For that you get a soft-close toilet seat that won’t fully stay up when raised to the upright position. Additionally, the suite’s link section has to be to be removed to get the seat to fit. We tried a cheaper toilet seat but that also failed to stay up. Much better toilets (with customised soft-close toilet seats and quieter ceramic cisterns are available for under $700.

Looks great but cheap junk – I paid an additional $302.00 to have a Caroma Quatro Shower rail (hand-held shower) installed in my new home. I wasn't able to see the complete… Read more

shower before installation so I was disappointed to find that the hose and shelf which is fixed to the rail is made of plastic. The shelf had two hooks at the front, one of which broke off on the 5th or 6th use. I had to replace the hose because it was sooo frustrating to use ... it had a life of its own ... wouldn't sit flush with the wall which made it hard to use and to get the shower head to fit back back into the bracket. I replaced the hose with a flexible metal hose which causes no problems except that it falls out of the bracket. I suppose I would have to pay an inflated price for a caroma hose that might stay in he bracket. Very disappointed!

Shiny bathroom accessory that does not do the one thing required of it – Another triumph of form over function. The holder relies on a 6 millimetre high projection to keep the toilet roll on. Unsurprisingly, this means that the roll falls off very easily.
